He’s grown up and become a badass secret agent type. Basically James Bond, but with more kung fu. He can do just about anything at a trained professional level, except hacking or lock picking. He’s a charmer, not a thief. But with a few more PP, well…he’d be unstoppable as far as normal people and systems go. But, standard PL 7 was my rule, and I’m not gonna break it. Maybe rehash later, though. Dunno.
  3. Terrifica shrugged nonchalantly and spoke in flawless Mandarin. <â€I can understand Cantonese perfectly well. It’s speaking it I’ve always had trouble with. However, this and English should work perfectly fine.>†She switched back to English. “It isn’t that I want to go alone. It is that we’re very much a mis-matched group. As you should know, Hong Kong is primarily Chinese, with the British a somewhat distant second and everyone else a much more distant third. Even if we posed as tourists we would stand out. Perhaps our man isn’t on the lookout for such things. That said, in his position I certainly would be.†She paused for a long moment, almost as if she was finished speaking but remembered one last thing at the last possible moment. â€That would make more sense if you knew I had Chinese ancestry and can thus pass for a citizen, if not a local.â€
  4. Terrifica kept moving. Her eyes were watchful for both the source of the voices and Archetech’s laptop. That rhythm…is that Frere Jacques? It certainly sounds like it. It could be creepy, but Terrifca dealt with sociopaths, homicidal maniacs, and whatever Maven was on a fairly regular basis. She’d used up her life’s supply of creeped out. Still in shadow, she found where the scientists were working. She still could not shake the nagging feeling that this was cybernetics of some sort or another. That poor Mr. Otetshima’s brain was quite literally wired into the system. Whether it was still in his skull or not was another matter. And perhaps it wasn’t actually him, and perhaps it was something else entirely that had been done here. But that nagging feeling wouldn’t go away. Terrifica, poised in shadow and looking into the laboratory, found she had not quite exhausted her life’s supply of creeped out after all.
  5. http://orokos.com/roll/274665 That's 25.
  6. Look, guys. I'm working 48-56 hours a week since my supervisor left. I'm spending more time in my uniform than in my own clothes. I've barely got enough time to eat, rest, and sleep. When I have the time and the energy, I post. Unfortunately, both are in short supply and aren't often around at the same time. This should be over by the end of the month, but the office hasn't ever exactly inspired confidence in their competence. So...that's how that goes.
  7. My question remained unanswered. How much (or how well) can Terrifica see with her low light vision?
  8. Don't get too excited. http://orokos.com/roll/273255 30. Also. Terrifica has Low Light Vision, not Darkvsion. How does that work here?
  9. Lightning just sighed. He had the look of someone just too tired to care. “Fine, whatever. We’ll take the show on the road. Lemme think a minute.†He arched an eyebrow at Miracle Girl. “I don’t know your names, Blondie. You haven’t been courteous enough to share them.†He paused, as if an idea had struck him. “New plan. Phoenix, get the van. You’re driving. Erased, Charger. Get the cage in the van. It won’t fit through the doorway assembled like that, as you both know. We’re going into the forest. Otherwise, plan stays the same.†He looked right at Endeavour. “Does that suit you, Brain Girl?†“Endeavour. Not Brain Girl.†It was Samaritan, in the back. “Blondie’s Miracle Girl. I’m Samaritan. Other guy’s Errant. You guys really didn’t introduce yourselves? That’s like, the first thing I do.â€
  10. May you have at bare minimum 27 more, Geez.
  11. Terrifica stifled a laugh. Discretion? As if I’m ever less than discreet in my work. Wei Shen? Don’t be ridiculous, young lady. There’s over a billion people in China. Surely there’s more than one with that specific name. Even if I don’t know what he actually does for his job. Well, to be fair, he doesn’t know about Terrifica, specifically. “If the first part of this mission is detective work, I am fully capable of doing it alone.†She paused a moment. “There is no disrespect intended. However, it appears I’m the only one on this mission who both speaks Mandarin and has been here before.†She crossed her legs and placed her hands on her knees. “Of course, appearances can always be deceiving. Agent Wild could always have learned it in the normal course of her missions. Or perhaps Captain Thompson is a closet Sinophile. At any rate, my statement stands. I do not require assistance with mere detective work.â€
  12. Phoenix flexed her gloved hand. “Thank you. Next time I won’t try to go hand to hand with a electric monster. Even if my powers can help.†She pushed her orange hair out of her face. “Then again, we wouldn’t know why that thing keeps going back to the forest if I didn’t.†She smiled wryly. “At least I’m good for something other than being the chick in this sausage fest of a team.†Vernon, meanwhile, was looking over Endeavour’s work. He whistled softly. “This is a lot better than anything I could do. I’m just an amateur by comparison. I think it’ll work this time, boss.†He took Endeavour’s hand and shook it. “You do good work. You may have heard already, but my codename is Erased. Real name’s Vernon. Nice to meet you.†Lightning just rolled his eyes, pointedly ignoring Endeavour’s questions about the machine. “Okay, here’s the plan. I’ll flash up to the sky and let off a big bolt to lure to the voltivore back here. When it does, Blondie and I can play tag with it a little, while Erased, Charger, and Brain Girl get the cage set up outside. Once that’s done, Brain Girl and I try to work the voltivore in the cage. I have powers, she has that wand. Charger and Blondie provide some muscle backup if we have trouble. Erased and Phoenix, you activate the cage once we have it in position.†Lighting smirked. “Your friends can help them if they run into trouble. Sound good?†He purposefully said nothing about how in the world he knew Samaritan and Errant were around. And of course, this was when Samaritan decided to poke his head in. “I don’t have any problems with that. Errant’s still upstairs, you guys. But the upper floors are clear.â€
  13. Terrifica >Feel It In My Bones Samaritan >Double Booked Queenie >Matter Over Mind There's probably more floating around, but I've been way too busy. Nobody's getting anywhere near 15 posts, even with any GM stuff I could dig up.
  14. Vonnie didn’t like it. His “this is a job for Samaritan†sense was beginning to tingle harder. It could be nothing. And if he was on patrol by himself, and not out with a class from Superhero High, he’d have let it go. But he wasn’t. There were three superheroes here, and heaven only knew how many people with powers nearby. It was just too much of a coincidence. He put his trash collection gear aside and began trailing Casey.
  15. It wasn’t the sudden downpour that stole Vonnie’s ability to think away. It was the resulting effect on the tall, athletic blonde a few feet in front of him. Vonnie, despite having superpowers, remained a more or less average teenage boy. So, at the sight of an attractive female who was soaked to the skin, his mind just went blank for a second. When he recovered, Casey was chasing after Saku. Well. That was a thing that happened. He shook his head to clear it of that particular image. I’m the one in charge here, mister. Shut your traitorous mouth. …you know what I mean. So, so glad LJ’s not here right now. She’d smack me for being such a boy. He needed a safer target, so much. And what do you know, Nevermore was around. Very safe. Yes. He took off running again, after the young man he’d worked with in the jungle.
  16. Terrifica was by Maxima’s side faster than seemed possible. She even had a tool kit out and ready. A quick exam revealed much. “I’m everything inclined. Please stand back. I don’t want anyone else to be affected if†I get this wrong because I don’t know a blessed thing about time robots “something goes wrong.†She knelt down and set to work. “Let’s see what I can do for you, hmm?†Her voice was calm enough, but her heartrate, which had spiked when her battlesuit had locked up earlier Which had never, ever, EVER happened before was only just starting to relax. She had to work fast, soon her hands would begin to shake. Terrifica outsmarted criminals and the odd supervillan. Sometimes, she fought them, too. She did not have any experience with trying to save the entire world and finding that your powers and skills didn’t amount to the proverbial fart in a windstorm. No. Focus, little girl. You are not eight years old. You are NOT. The very least she could do was repair this robot so it didn’t explode…or worse.
  17. Terrifica sighed. Of course, I’m the one who has to go in. Well, perhaps I’ll have a chance to field test my staff properly. She had begun work on it after Earth’s part in the Incursion. She never wanted to be caught so…unarmed, ever again. It wasn’t as strong as she wanted it, not yet, but it was better than nothing. She took her time on her way down to where the archaic computer was located. There was reason for haste, but not to forsake caution. Her staff, used to enter the facility, had purposefully not been returned to its place on her waist. The faint movement and spoken French easily caught her attention. She slipped effortlessly into the shadows, watching. Waiting. And moving forward at the same steady pace.
  18. Terrifica stifled an out of character smile as the young man walked away and whispered back. “I am an excellent searcher, as it happens. I’m just not nearly as fast as you.†She lightly but insistently pulled at her new ‘friend’s’ arm. “It okay. Have time. Father return late.†She wanted to get into the poetry section and find this robot, already. Patience was one of Terrifica’s strong suits at times, but this was not one of them. The longer the robot was out of sight, the more mischief it could get up to.
  19. Maybelle opened her mouth. Closed it. Nevermind, she won’t understand. The truth was, she wasn’t in any way a glory hound or a diehard champion of the people. She wasn’t heartless by any stretch, however. Maybelle loved people. She didn’t want to see them get hurt. But that had nothing to do with she stopped them from getting hurt. She was a hero because it was right. It was who she was, ring or no ring. If someone needed help, she helped. End of discussion. She couldn’t think of a way to say just that any better without sounding like a bad person, so she just let it go. Of course, as Maybelle didn’t have much skill or practice at deception, You’ll never understand might as well have been written on her face in big block letters. She let a mischievous light shine in her eyes, and changed the subject. “Do you have lawyers? Know it all professors? How about those meddling kids?â€
  20. Terrifica had nothing to say. In fact, from her seat in the back, she didn’t even appear to be listening. Instead she looked lost in thought. It would be more accurate to say she was lost in memories. The fuzzy childhood ones, before her powers kicked in. After that, everything was as real as a high def video. Moreso, even, as all five senses were involved and human senses were often more sensitive than even the most expensive equipment. She had been back to China since, of course. A one week physics conference in Beijing, and her honeymoon in Shanghai (a surprise gift from Stan, her husband and not exactly a poor man). Of course, she didn’t have the heart to tell him she didn’t entirely understand the locals on that trip, being as they spoke a different dialect than she did. However, she’d never been to Hong Kong, aside from a brief stop on the way out of China when she was a child. Obviously, the place had changed, even the miniscule amount of it she had seen then. It was…a little exciting. Even after all this time, China still felt a little bit like home.

It doesn’t entirely fit my image of a grinning teenage girl in the heart of an F-5 Tornado, but she is seriously powerful. As the newest exile, she doesn’t have any of the team player feats. Without her powers she’s just a athletic pop culture loving teenage girl. She can hammer a single target with a barrage of steel cracking wind, cause an area to virtually explode with violent wind, or summon a localized tornado to blow a given target away. She can even fly and catch a host of falling people. Honestly? Windy is a bit of a jack of all trades, due to being quasi-reincarnated so many times. Competent in a lot of areas, but outstripped in each by a more specialized Exile. She can bluff, taunt, gather information. She can vary the accuracy to power ratio of her attacks with Accurate Atttack & Power Attack, and supply some extra oomph if she so chooses with All Out Attack. Her weakness, as previously states, is that there really isn’t one thing she’s super good at. She lacks a niche, and isn’t quite versatile enough to make up for it. With that said, when one can throw flippin’ tanks like toys and do from 100 feet in the air, well…a locked door isn’t that much of a problem. And that’s Windstorm. The teenage girl in the heart of an F5 Tornado. Hope you like.
  22. I have a minute before work, so... http://orokos.com/roll/268070 27. Jack of all Trades ia a beautiful thing.
  23. Seeing Rampart beginning to relax, Terrifica got directly to work. Kindly give me a minute, young man. I have work to do. Her longcoat went back around her shoulders, and she started roaming the building with her investigative toolset out. As it turned out, she didn’t need anything but the most basic of probes. Human flesh reacts in a certain way when prodded and inspected. None of the body parts scattered throughout the building were real. Horror movie props. Not the best, but not the worst, either. The blood was real enough, but whether it was human or not was another matter entirely. Then there was that photo of the werehouse in Greenbank. And that no personal possessions were in evidence anywhere her eyes roved. The receptionist was real enough, but everything else? Illusion. Fakery. She smiled. She did so love a good mystery, and learning a massacre was just a elaborately staged murder brought a sense of palpable relief. She put her toolset away on her belt, and strode back into the lobby. “I have good news and bad news.†She spoke loud enough to grab everyone’s attention. “The bad news is that this young woman-“ She indicated the young receptionist. “-is quite dead. A sharp weapon was used to penetrated her heart, and she bled out in seconds.†She held up a hand to forstall anything anyone might say. “While that is terrible, there is also the good news. The various bits and pieces of people scattered around are fake. Plastic, actually. Like you’d find on the set of a well funded horror movie. The blood is real enough, but whether or not it belongs to humans rather than say, pigs, requires a longer test than we have time for at the moment.†She paused for a moment. “Honestly, it looks more like everyone simply moved out and then the place was decorated for a particularly gruesome Halloween party. Aside from this poor girl, at any rate.†She knelt down and gently closed the girl’s eyes, whispering a prayer in Mandarin. She rose and walked to the exit. “There’s a warehouse in Greenbank. I recognized it from a photo in one of the rooms. I plan to go there next. Would any of you like to come along? There isn’t much left we can do here, aside from paying respects.†She made no move to actually leave. She simply looked at the group expectantly.
