  1. GM The kid raised his arms to the sky. "Alright, alright, sheesh. Just... don't hurt me, alright?" He didn't seem big on continuing the fight, not that he had been directly involved. "I'm just the tech guy, alright? Those old geezers paid good money, alright? Just, just don't hit me, I'll tell you everything."
  2. REBELLION Right. Rebellion looked up at the minotaur. The alien minotaur. One thing wasn't enough, was it? It couldn't be just an alien or a minotaur, no. It had to be both. Alien. Minotaur. Because of course. And there was another one. She looked human, but her skin turned yellow. Could be human, could just be powers, but the way this Hazmat spoke? No, probably not. Rebellion reached into his jacket, pulled out a small notebook, quickly writing a few lines with a pen attached to it. "Right." He stretched his arm out, closed the book and placed it back into his jacket. "B'ka, and Hazmat? From... Coalition Space and the Praetorians? And alien smugglers with heavy weapons? Nothing I know of. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened here." He paused, took a deep breath. Right. "Can you track them?"
  3. GM <"The hell!?"> The Mafiya soldiers looked up just in time to see the quantum webbing falling on them. Three dove to the side, rolling and quickly crouching, firing the assault rifles at Emerald Spider in mid-air. Three others were caught in the sticky quantum web, struggling to move. <"Get them! Fire!"> Another of the Mafiya barked orders, pointing ahead. All around him, everyone not stuck in the web or already shooting at Emerald Spider fired at Justice, Kanunu and the trucks. "What's going on out there?" Metamind called from his truck, the middle one. The last one, the one containing Dinostroyer, was starting to move and shake, like someone inside wanted out.
  4. Let's say you get 6 Mafiya guys with that: 6x Reflex Save vs. DC19: 14 21 21 9 3 21 3 pass, 3 fail 3x Reflex save vs. DC19: 4 16 11 All fail 3x Reflex save vs. DC14: 17 16 16 All pass The 3 soldiers that ES tried to Snare shoots back at her: 10 6 21, that's one hit, give me a DC20 TOU save 2 soldiers shoot at Kanunu: 18 18, both miss 2 soldiers shoot at Justice: 17 24, that's one hit, so a DC20 TOU save for Justice The rest keep attacking the armored trucks, starting to do some damage. There appear to be at least 20 Mafiya soldiers around Rolling TOU for Justice: 24, safe @angrydurf, you're up 23 - Kanunu - 4HP - Unharmed 22 - Justice - 4HP - Unharmed 20 - Emerald Spider - 1HP - Unharmed 9 - Mafiya Soldiers x20 - 3 Snared
  5. Leaning back against the counter, Robin looked up at the ceiling while she waited, before shooting an appreciative smile at Emerald Spider. "Yup, been a regular for a while now, the Paks are awesome. And I've been busy... lots of things happening all over. I'm just happy that you're here, ES. I was worried that no one at all was gonna show." Yeah, it would probably be just the two of them. She'd met Kanunu a while ago when she'd teamed up with him and Emerald Spider to protect those bad guys from the Mafiya and she knew the Meta-Naut was out there somewhere, there were scattered reports about others out there... and then the Ultio Suits, of course. She frowned a bit at the thought. And then it all happened fast. Someone in a huge armor entered the shop! Robin reached for her belt on instinct before stopping herself, just looking up at the huge armor with wide eyes. It was so big! "Woah... that's... that's a huge armor..." It looked kinda weird. Not quite just tech, right? Shaking her head, she snapped out of it and extended her hand, quickly shaking the massive gauntlet, while being happy that she'd come up with a costume for while she wasn't wearing an armor herself. "Yep! I'm Justice! Great to meet you!" And another in armor, and Kanunu... Excusing herself from the big armor, she quickly hurried over to Venomax, greeting Kanunu with a quick grin on the way, before turning to the other newcomer. "Hey, I'm Justice, come in, I've got some ideas, but I'll wait until..." Robin froze, looking at the woman as she stepped through. Alright. That... that was a thing that someone did. Cutting through the air, stepping inside, walking and giving people warnings about taking the bus. Yes, yes, that was absolutely a thing that some people did. "Oh, hey, welcome!" She could hardly not introduce herself, and at least she looked a bit less scary than the last one, right? Looking around, it was, well, a lot more people than she had expected. ES, Kanunu, the big armor guy, Venomax, the woman that cut through the freaking sky and the woman in gold and silver. Alright, seven of them in total, that was... that was a lot. She'd hoped for maybe 2 or 3 people showing up, herself included. She should say something, she really should, but she was just kinda stunned at the whole thing? Everyone showing up at all at once, some of them already knowing each other of course. Maybe this was a bad idea. She really wasn't good at stuff like this, maybe she should ask Emerald Spider to do it... But that wouldn't really be fair, would it? Steeling herself, she stepped up to counter and looked around at everyone else. "Alright, I'm really not good at things like this, so bear with me, please?" She glanced over at Emerald Spider, looking for some support, before looking back at everyone again. "First of all, the Paks were really nice and let me do this thing here, so please be nice to them. They're really good people. So, uh... I think I introduced myself to everyone already, but just in case, I'm Justice. I've been doing the hero thing for about a year and half now, and, well... I kinda thought it'd be time for us to try and get together? Try and get organized a bit?" She shook her head. Focus, focus. Don't worry, worst thing they can do is say no. Which would be bad enough, but... Right, right. "So, uh... I've been kind of looking at things. Emerald has its fair share of problems, right? But I dunno, seems like things have been changing lately. Its mostly been down to Earth stuff. Purse snatchers, organized crime, bank robbesr, that sorta thing, at least for me, but, its kinda weird. Like, those people that Emerald Spider and Kanunu fought, the Upstarts, and in the summer, when Devlin came alive and I helped stop that, and... well, then there's MarsTech's new Ultio Suits. Their "everyone can be super heroes" thing. You've seen that, right? I, um... I might have some kinda bad news there?" Robin trailed off, rubbing her left arm. It still felt weird to know that Max Mars had stolen her tech.
  6. "Well, well, well!" Pan rubbed his hands together as Eira brought up the dog and petted it, quickly falling down on a knee and reaching out to scratch the shadow puppy's belly with great enthusiasm. "Now, what manner of adorable sin against nature are you, hmm? Are you a good little monster, are you?" In the middle of all the petting, he somehow found the will power to look away from the dark little puppy, looking up at Eira. "Now, why did you keep these adorable beasts a secret?" His grin and eyes lingered on Eira for a moment before returning to the puppy. He was brought out of the puppy-induced state when Tarva greeted him and Eira. Pan looked up and froze the slightest of moments, as he took her in. "Maybe, maybe not. It tends to be a bit difficult to decide whether one have or have not. All depends on the books you have read, I suppose." Pan stood up, leaving the puppy behind with some reluctance, though he still smiled his usual grin at Tarva. "Hello, I am Pan the Forever Boy. I suppose you are one of Eira's aunts?"
  7. Alright, Micah, Elizabeth, Judy and Ashley has scared Alice off from Micah for now! Next up, she'll see how Legatus is doing! Maybe Leroy and Abby will be able to help him, if you're still interested. If not, let me know and I'll find someone else. @secondling @Nick @Ari
  8. GM It was like something just broke in Alice. Her eyes glazed over, her arms fell to her sides as she stared at Micah, mouth opening and closing like she wanted to stay something. "Yo-... you... You can't do this... you can't do this to me..." Her voice was small, any power she had over Micah just moments before was gone. "I love you, Micah... I truly do. Why can't you just accept that?" She barely seemed phased by the weather effects around them, only focusing on Micah's words. Her lip was trembling, before she stomped her foot into the ground and steeled herself. "Fine. Fine! If you don't want me, if you're all turning against me, then I'll find someone who will!" She glowed again. A brief, powerful glow. Then she was gone.
  9. Doktor'd! Cheval A small update, to make his Power of Ogoun array a bit more readable. No mechanical changes, just writing it a bit differently. Power of Ogoun Array 12 (24PP Array; Feats: Alternate Power 3) [27PP] (Prowess, No Iron descriptor) BP: {12 + 12 = 24/24} Knockback Strength 12 ("Might of Ogoun") Add (Feats: Knockback 12) to Unarmed [12PP] Super-Strength 6 (+2 ranks from Density 8, +1 rank from Super-Strength 1: Total rank 9) (Total: +45 STR carry. Heavy load 716.8 tons) [12PP] AP: Autofire Strength 12 ("Break Strike") Add (Extras: Autofire, Penetrating 3; Feats: Improved Critical 2, Knockback 7) to Unarmed {24/24} AP: {12 + 12 = 24/24} Vampiric Strength 12 ("Drain Strike") Add (Extras: Vampiric) to Unarmed [12PP] Drain Toughness 12 (Extras: Linked to Unarmed) [12PP] AP: Damage 12 ("Flame Strike"; Extras: General Area [Cone]) (Area: 120 ft. cone) {24/24} (Fire)
  10. GM "Ladies and geeeentle-men! I give you... Levity!" The announcer's voice barely cut through the roar of the crowd, as Levity took to the sky, her jet cutting through any static and noise. Clear skies for Levity to start her show, all other planes had circled far away or landed by now. She was, after all, the main attraction. Nothing in her way, nothing but her and the plane. Of course, from the ground below, things might look different. At least to Chromium. As he stared up at the plane, he noticed something else. A rapidly growing shadow in front of the sun, something or someone rapidly approaching.
  11. Alright, see results in the IC.
  12. Alright, here's the social thread: Justice has sent out the call for the heroes of EC to meet up, so join up if it sounds like something you'd do: Calling All Heroes There's a few threads going atm, which is great. If anyone want to get something set up for their characters, let me know here, on discord or by PM, and I'll start setting up threads for you. Tell me what you'd want to get involved in, and I'll make it happen.
  13. Justice 8PM, March 14th, 2020 Betlehem Heights, the noodle place on the corner of 14th and Ramos Robin was nervous. Not quite to the oh-god-I'm-a-wreck level of nervous just yet, but she was nervous. She wasn't the only hero in Emerald City, which was great, but everything was just so random. One day, she'd run into Emerald Spider, then it would be months before she saw someone else. Emerald City was big, sure, but it was almost like everyone was staying away from everyone else on purpose, and well, she'd been nervous about trying to rock the boat there. Emerald City didn't have many heroes, she didn't want to get on the bad side of anyone by pretending she could be the one to call everyone together and boss them around or anything like that. She really didn't want to do anything like that, but, well... things were changing, right? They'd probably seen the news of the Mars Ultio Suits, if they hadn't already run into them on the streets. And well, she knew some things about them that the others might not. At least she had a little bit of local fame with the whole thing with fighting the Wall getting on TV and when she helped put Devlin back in place, so she wasn't a total unknown. Still, she was still nervous about this thing. She was wearing her costume. Red with light grey boots and gloves, a pink lion on her chest and wearing her red domino mask. She wasn't quite ready to let everyone know who she was here, but wearing the full armor would be weird, if she wasn't about to fight someone at least. God, she hoped nobody would start fighting. So, Robin put out the call on HeroHouse and CapesList. A simple message: Hey, everyone in Emerald City, this is Justice! I know we're not really a close-knit community or anything, but things seem to be changing, and I'd like everyone to meet up. I'll be at the noodle place at the corner of 14th and Ramos in Betlehem. I hope I'll see you all there. Right, so, she had met Emerald Spider, Meta-Naut and Kanunu. Hopefully at least one of them would show up, maybe some of the other heroes that had started running around. At least the owners of this place were good people, they didn't mind people in masks and costumes. Maybe she'd even get the chance to thank Emerald Spider for introducing her to the place. So, she waited. Eyes on the door. Hoping that at least someone would show up.
  14. Alright, here's me having reworked what you got. I haven't touched the skills, that's up to you. As is, this build uses 130 out of 150PP available, leaving you with 20PP to spend as you wish. As I said, your descriptors need some more work, and mind the notes in red. Paper Power Level: 10 built as 8 (150/150PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Fell through the cracks of the foster system. Ex-juvie, out on conditional parole for ‘good behavior’. Catchphrase: None Theme: None Alternate Identity: Leon Moore (Secret) Birthplace: Seattle, WA Residence: Claremont Academy Base of Operations: Claremont Academy Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: Foster brother and sister Description: Age: 17 (DoB: March 19, 2003) Apparent Age: 17 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' 10" Weight: 175 lbs. Eyes: Grey Hair: Black Description: Black hair, cut short and brushed back except for a few bangs that won't cooperate. Leon keeps himself in shape, and trains to keep his agility. He likes to dress casually in his free time, anime/cartoon themed t-shirts and jeans usually. His ‘costume’ use to typically consists of a black short sleeved shirt with red trim, blue jeans and sneakers. This is accompanied by a slim, black backpack with a few various books in it at any time, along with some personal items. Several small black pockets on straps around arms (1 on each), thighs (2 on each) and 2 each hip of his belt. Each pocket is large enough to hold a deck of index cards. Hanging on back of the belt is a case that holds 2 rolls of paper. History: Born in Seattle to a teen mother, she moved to Freedom City when he was still young with her then boyfriend. When Leon began to show signs of not being ‘normal’ the man abandoned them, his mother felt she could not take care of a ‘special’ child and surrendered him to the foster system without telling them of his ‘nature’. Shortly there after she returned to family in Seattle. Leon has not had any contact with her since. In the system since age 8, Leon was moved from home to home several times, unable to settle, acting up, and trying to run away. At first, he blamed his powers for his mother abandoning him 11, then he landed in the same foster house as two other children with powers. With their help he accepted his powers and embraced them. The three agreed that they could only rely on each other and swore to always be there for the others. Believing the system was a failure and that no one else could or would see them as more then either a burden or a paycheck, the three ran away together and turned to small crimes to do what they thought they needed to survive. Personality & Motivation: coming Power Descriptions: Leon can control and manipulate paper, altering its shape and strength at his will. He can make paper as stronger than metal and sharper than any normal blade. He can make it solid enough to resist liquids and gas. He can even resist heat and fire to a point. It can easily protect from an explosion with little harm to the paper, but repeated or continued exposure will eat away at the paper. Shaping it, he can create nearly anything from simple weapons and gear to clothing and simple golems. Many pieces of smaller papers can be melded into a single, seamless construction and when done with them the constructs fall apart into their original pieces, or what’s left of them. Aside from his power over paper, or perhaps more because of it, Leon has taught himself how to use simple weapons. These would cover most blades, clubs/maces, spears/staves, bows and arrows, and throwing objects. All things he can easily create with paper. Skill wise, Leon is quick and agile from practicing often. He is not overly strong, equal to anyone his size that works out every so often. He has also developed a firm sense of balance. Complications: And I don’t give a damn about my bad reputation: Reputation: Leon and his foster siblings have records with the juvenile courts, and he doesn’t care if others know. Being predisposed to thinking that, in the end, everyone is looking out for themselves. It’s just a flesh wound: Disability: Leon lost his left arm not long ago during a robbery attempt. During the robbery Leon and a rookie officer were caught in a building collapse, he protected the officer, but his arm was crushed mid bicep. Leon uses his powers to create and maintain a paper arm that looks real enough. 15. "Of course, it is perfectly normal for anyone to start talking about me. I do tend to come up naturally in any conversation." A bit of a teasing tone to his voice, but Pan did sound confident. He could just as well be telling the truth as he could be teasing, while he placed his hands at his sides, thrusting his chest slightly forward. "Why, yes, purely an ironic date." Of course Pan mirrored Eira's words from when she proposed they go together. He seemed to take some joy in doing just that. "We have plans, of course." He looked at the others, flashing his best devilish grin. "Secret plans."
  16. Alright, give me some Notice checks.
  17. REBELLION The ash would not go undisturbed for long. Soon, a solitary figure before it, glowing white eyes from the darkness under a blue baseball cap scanning the area. The pile of ash was small, but it was there, in the middle of the street. It would be gone soon, wind and time doing its thing, but before that, Rebellion had found it. He stood above the ash. It wasn't meant to be here, it wasn't supposed to be here. Someone would need to have burned something to leave the ash behind, someone would need to have burned it fast, and it would have needed to be a certain size to leave a pile of ash like this behind, still not taken by the wind, but he hadn't seen any fire. Even then, fire would have left some marks beyond the ash, and there was nothing. Rebellion bent into a crouch, tracing the ash with his fingers. It felt... off. It was a weird feeling. A strange sensation. It was just ash, after all, but he couldn't shake it. This was all wrong for the city's patterns. Ash shouldn't be here. So, he looked. There had to be something here. Anything, any kind of clue that could lead him to what had caused this. Tracks on the ground, feelings of heat... noises in the distance. It couldn't have been here for long. The ash wouldn't last long. It was a mystery. One that he wanted to solve.
  18. Rebellion tries to find any clues to where whoever left the bunch of ash went, with a Search check: 11 And I roll a 1. Wonderful start.
  19. GM Alice didn't follow Micah. Her confusion seemed to give away to frustration. Her hands tightened into fists, she stomped her foot into the ground. "No. No, no, no, no! Don't touch her!" She didn't even seemed to notice Ashley having raised the gun. "Who cares about what your mother thinks? I'm here for you, not for her! Teach me this thing if is so important to you! I'll learn, I'll be just what you want me to be!" She seemed to be flaring up again, starting to glow. Angry bursts of light while her voice rose to yells and screams.. "You... you're all just... you just don't want Micah to be happy! I can make you happy, Micah! I can make you love me! Don't do this to me... to us! Don't do this to us! You're better than this!"
  20. Forever Boy "I will take the long path if necessary." Pan was right by Ashley's side, shimmering sword in his hands, ready to strike if Übermensch rose. "Adam, Benny, go, I will keep Ashley company until everyone is out. You have knocked him down, now run." His entire body glowed, Pixie Dust falling from him in greater amounts than any of them had ever seen. He lit up the area around them, while slowly backing away together with Ashley. "I do not leave friends behind, Ashley." His voice was lower, his tone somber. "If you want me to go, then you are coming along, too. After all, can you imagine imagine what Judy and Leroy would get up to if you stayed behind in the past?" His playful tone returned for the last bit.
  21. GM Übermensch struggled to rise. Even through the daze as blows continued to rain down, he was still far from done. They had hurt him, yes, an impressive feat in and of itself, but he was far from out. They only served to fuel his anger, as his fingers dug into the ground. The laser fire rained down on him. He barely felt them sting, instead he simply glared up at Ashley as he fought to regain his bearings amidst the assault. More and more people from the village entered the cave. Macedon stood by it, yelling in French for them to get inside. So close, only a few seemed to remain. If the heroes held their ground, then maybe they would be able to save them. Of course, maybe also meant Übermensch would get the chance to strike back.
  22. No need to roll, that hits even without the startle. He still shrugs that off with no issue! Pan is of course not gonna listen while there's still people there. Another round of Inspire for everyone, since that's the best thing he can do right now. Once Übermensch's turn passes, everyone will have escaped. @Thunder King, you're up. 29 - Forever Boy - 1HP - Unharmed24 - Specimen - 3HP - Unharmed, Inspired +522 - Übermensch - Bruised (x2), Dazed, Tripped --- Round 1/218 - Rebound - 2HP - Unharmed, Inspired +517 - Watchdog - 1HP - Bruise (x3) - 3 assorted explosives used, Inspired +511 - Daystar - Bruise (x1) - Inside the cave2 - Legatus - 0HP - KO
  23. That's why I did that attack, to help you learn it, since a good use of Create Object is walls, just like you did! You'll want to look at the Damaging Objects section at page 166 in the core book. Basically, objects only take lethal damage, not the non-lethal that's normally used. Like with characters, they can take Injuries, which gives -1 to further saves, become Disabled, which means equipment no longer functions and walls have holes or, when Dying, its completely destroyed. So, your 28 and 25 passes the save. The 11 fails by 11, which, as per house rules, means it is Disabled, and there's now holes in it! The 19 is an injury, so -1 to further rolls, but further attacks might get through the holes! You can use Create Object to create new walls, of course! Or repair the old ones! 16 - 4x Thugs - Unharmed, 1x Shaken 8 - Knight of Earth - 4HP - Bruise (x1) - Wall TOU+10 - Disabled, Injury (x1) 7 - Spectre - 1HP - Unharmed
  24. GM "Shaddup, punk!" Well, the hard light holograms did their best to emulate some actual terrorists, too. From the control room, Armstrong leaned back in his chair and rolled his eyes, but remained silent. The program was running on auto right now, he had no need to get involved. From up above, the four enemies continued to rain down fire, laser blasts hitting all over the walls that Ivy had created, doing their best not to give the two heroes a chance to break through.
