  1. Naomi smiled, putting on her helmet as the HUD showing her pack's status and her suit's life support status were online. "Well the Repulsor attachment Gimbals could provide proper thrust compensation to pull that off... I just set the maneuvering banks to keep my feet just above the glass. I like to call it ground skating." She said, doing final diagnostics on her equipment. "I'll keep things at sub-sonic, more like 150 KM/h for now. Just to keep G-forces at a reasonable level. I'll have to keep my G-compensator to normal human tolerances on my suit to ensure I'm not cheating." She straps on a bright green and a bright red LED light on her wrists, and a white light attached to her belt so she was flight legal. She then checked her life preserver, pressurizing it then deflating it, seeing the elastic material return to a state of what looked like a padded collar to her suit, noting it inflated fairly easily without being interfered with by the straps of the flight pack. "Seems everything's in order. I'll keep to a altitude of 1500 meters, with most of my flight route over the rivers and other bodies of water. That way with any malfunctions the packs repulsor fields at least I can set for a hopefully safe landing." She said, attuning her repulsor field to it's maximum setting. Hopefully she won't hit anything too hard... or with a repair bill. She stood at attention. "How do I look?" She indeed looked good, a combination of futuristic with a hint of modern considerations. "Ready to go on your call."
  2. Naomi came in. She was already wearing the new flightsuit they designed for her. Of course for hiding it's true intent as her superhero costume as Seahawk it was set to it's international orange and red colors as a test pilot for Archetech. Her helmet was under her arm as she smiled, looking forward to what Miss A had in mind. "Of course, of course with this new flightsuit this will be quite a comfortable experience. The labcoat squad tossed this to me when I got in... Just one question, should I test masquerading as Seahawk, or fly in my usual test-pilot regalia? Trying to manage this dual life is something I need practice with." She brushed off the material of her suit. "But I am totally looking forward to it. Let's see what you got, boss!"
  3. If Miss A wouldn't mind, Seahawk/Naomi would love to accompany her with whoever she meets up with.
  4. Sakurako was also going to tell her that as it was a simulation the water pressure was equal from top to bottom, but it seemed she was boring her friend with the techno babble. She puts on a snorkeling mask with snorkel and a yellow snorkeling vest she zips up after putting her flippers on. She walks into the water and starts swimming, heading under the surface to meet up with her friend. Sakurako waves as she manages to keep calm and at a proper depth. Casey knew Sakurako wasn't the best of swimmers, but the pouches on Sakurako's snorkeling vest seem to have lots of contingencies possibly. Sakurako's technique wasn't the best as she kept herself near Casey but she still seemed to enjoy herself. After a bit Sakurako signals to head to the surface and she swims up, although once at the surface she looked more like she was barely treading water. She catches her breath, waiting for Casey to meet her.
  5. Endeavor was developing a headache. Massaging her temples, she shook her head. "I... I'm sorry guys, I think I need to step out for a while." When she headed out she gave a look at Casey, with a slight longing, like she just couldn't handle it right now. Not with the group like this. "Don't let me hold you guys back..." She made a direct bee-line for the arch. "I'll keep a listen on my cell phone, and if anyone needs anything after the first set of... whatever you guys agree on, I'll bring refreshments. I'm... just suddenly not feeling it tonight." The doors opened and she walked out. After a few steps she slumped against the wall out of view against the doors as the doors closed. She brought her knees up and laid her head in them. "Dangit..."
  6. "Yeah... but I was kept even from the obvious fringe stuff. I could have helped my Mom on their Search and Rescue jobs or my Dad while he maintained the UNISON air assets... but nope." She said crossing her arms. "As for the simulation or simulations you wanna do, what's the difference of needlessly separating us? Just to placate our egos by having the "sidekicks" kept on the sideline until our cue?" She said, staring intently at Nevermore. "The real world doesn't work like that. There's no script. The real world is messy, chaotic, un-sanitized, and ugly." She started remembering what she saw when she saw the aftermath of the East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011... "Sometimes I wonder if my folks keep me out of it with all I've seen. I saved a few lives, but saw so many more I couldn't help." "That's the sort of stuff you're gonna run into out there. The bad guys won't hold back just because you wanna call in "the reserves". They will push the advantage." "If anything we need to show we can work together in a crisis, not follow a script." Endeavor said. Looking toward the arch entrance to the simulator room. "Mind an indulgence? I got an idea."
  7. "No. The simulator doesn't generate UV or Infrared unless specifically asked. Then again you can just thank the environment containment panels above us for holding our atmosphere in and keeping all the nasty stuff out." She said, sticking out her tongue as a joke. "The slight glow to the glass that makes up the dome was based off of something interesting I read about how scientists can use magnetically charged Xenon gas to protect against the radiation of space, and the gas itself is bound near the ship by said magnetic fields." She grinned, stretching. "So, I added that effect as there's a thin Xenon gas envelope contained by a magnetic field just outside of the panels." "But it's all Zeroes and Ones and dimensional transcendence. Amazing how I can have a larger simulation than the chamber's actual dimensions. Although there is a data/space ratio that needs addressing." She smiled, seeing Casey was ready for a swim. "Heh. I guess that's a hint we're going to enjoy the simulated water at some point." She said, lifting off her sundress and setting it on a beach towel nearby. She sets it down with care, showing it's her favorite. Although her choice of a basic one-piece blue swimsuit showed she's not a fan of showing too much. "I calibrated the temperature of the simulated water to be at about 78 degrees with an air temperature of 86 degrees with 15% humidity. Perfect swimming conditions." Pulling out a pair of snorkeling goggles with a snorkel attached she starts rummaging through the real crate she had some extra stuff in. "I also tossed in some simulated fish. As long as I kept the depth of the water around 40 feet at the largest, I could keep the overall data stream envelope large enough to simulate everything you see. Although I'm not sure if the basic random programs of the fish motions will feel "right" for this simulation." She was a bit of a perfectionist, even when showing off something that would be considered her form of art.
  8. Sakurako's grumpiness was starting to be a bit more evident as she walks over to a side wall. Quirking an eyebrow like she always does when she gets an idea she looked back to the group. "Why not just have everyone involved from the start? Everyone having a role on a consolidated team? With our numbers we could have one hell of a response. Our fighty types keeping the heat off those helping bystanders?" She grinned. "The full-capes kept us out of the alien invasion that was attempted a while back... why don't we put on a show to show what Claremont can do? Quite honestly, it sucks being alone." She said opening up her helmet to scratch the scar over her right eye. "Last time I was alone I got beat up pretty bad... I wager with a full team I can really show my talents without having to be a damage buffer." She pulled out her EMWand. "And last I checked I can really move some I-Beams with this thing." "So, no coming to the rescue. it's all in to save the day? Whatcha say to that? I'm sure this simulator has a few crisis scenarios we can play with, and it's a simulator so I don't think we're gonna be getting hurt that easily."
  9. Sakurako shushed Casey. "Shush, you! I use a lot of the recyclables for my projects. You don't understand how some of my projects require me finding a proper spring or nut... Oh hey look!" Sakurako said, grinning as she picks up a spring. "Yep, the right type of metal too. Perfect for my electromagnetism project!" Hey, people weren't using this stuff... one person's litter was another's treasure. She slipped the small spring into a pocket as she looked over her EMWand out of the way from prying eyes. "Hopefully by putting a effort here people will finally get the message that we're trying to turn the Fens around and get this place blooming again."
  10. "Well the beach stuff, toys, the rubber dinghy, and the box full of stuff I save for sailing is real. Everything else is a simulation." Sakurako said, pointing up to the glass-like dome above them, and the vast star-scape and the rising moon and setting earth. "I was feeling whimsical when I designed this. Originally this was supposed to be for a Birthday Party I was gonna throw, but all of the Alien brew-ha-ha and the whipping I received from a robot crab put a damper on things." She got up to sit on a crate, looking at the water. "Took a bit of programming to get the refraction of the water just right." "I'm glad you like it." She said with a smile. "Oh, I drug in a couple coolers too, filled with stuff probably not good for us, but we can burn the calories swimming!" She said with a smile. "Or rowing, or whatever..."
  11. Endeavor smiled, looking at the growing pile of trash bags her and the team had been racking up. She personally was helping move junk using her EMWand to load it into the recycling truck. She wasn't strong, but the Electromagnetic Force was up to the task to aid her. Dressed in the cleansuit offered her, she wore it over her nearly skin-tight supersuit, keeping her helmet undeployed, opting for the hardhats handed out to those handling the heavy moving, with a pair of work gloves for her hands. Sakurako was clever enough to have her EMWand running discretely, so it wasn't obvious who was providing the powered assist. She broke out the cooler loaded with water bottles as she sat at a bench near the piles that were being taken care of for removal. "Okay... that's the NW quadrant of the park cleared. Not bad so far. We're gonna have to get some time for the removal teams to catch up. How's things on your guys' end?" She asked once everyone comes over to grab some water. The NW quad of the park was Sakurako's beat, she was planning on moving to another quadrant for her second shift on the cleanup team. Having to hide her genius did help keep things under wraps. Although it slowed things down.
  12. This is Endeavor tagging in!
  13. "Ahem... Computer, display the current schedule for this time bracket, please? In a manner obvious to anyone who walks in?" Endeavor said, snapping her finger to create a holographic billboard with the current schedule. "Also this simulator IS Claremont Academy property, Glamazon. Not ours. They're the ones who assigned the time. And in this case, made the error." She sighed, shaking her head. "Claimed... typical upperclassman arrogance. Last I checked we were supposed to still work together, not fight over territory like a pack deciding who the alpha is." Sakurako said, starting to look a bit frustrated. She's had a lot on her mind lately too, which was shortening her temper. In fact Endeavor was tapping her left foot on the simulator room floor. A sign Miracle Girl knew as something Endeavor does when... angry. Then again her sticking to code names was also a sign of Sakurako defaulting to regulations and rank whenever there is a impending bit of chaos. In her head she was thinking the double-booking was intentional from higher up, and to imply that the underclassmen were staking a claim on an important Academy Resource was... a bit insulting. "We had nothing to do with this."
  14. Okay "The Scout and the Sailor" is the Miracle Girl/Endeavor thread that I and Heri were wanting to do together, but if anyone is interested on looking into what Sakurako is doing in the simulator room after hours, after I and Heri get some posts in and stuff I might be willing to start having party crashers show up on Sakurako's island...
  15. This is a Casey/Miracle Girl and Sakurako/Endeavor thread. I would like people to ask me if they're interested in joining in through forum PM. I just ask to let us do some posting for a while first. This is an informal thread. February 21, 2015. 23:40 Claremont Academy, Simulator room Sakurako was working in the simulator room. It was after hours, and her work was for a advanced programming class set up to teach the more tech savvy students how to deal with virtual simulations. Sakurako had already went through the course work and was now enjoying the fruits of her labors. She had sculpted from the digital clay a beautiful small tropical island, expansive beaches, a marina, and even sea gulls and other tropical things. Even a small beach house. The simulated outboard boat was a nice touch of scripting she thought. She decided to take some beach stuff with her from the real world. Some towels, air mattresses, rings, and a rubber rowing dinghy, and other nautical supplies. Mostly stuff her parents let her borrow. She wanted to test the simulation out before using it for a late birthday party later in March or April to see if it was to everyone's liking once things calmed down. The alien invasion and her injury in January put a damper on her plans, but Maybe having a party around Easter where she could have her parents in too might be nice. She gave a invite to Casey, someone she started to develop a friendship with, to share in enjoying a quiet beachfront evening. Sakurako laid on the beach, wearing a sailor collared sun dress over her blue swimsuit, looking up at the simulated space station windows overhead, a rising crescent moon framed the scene. This wasn't on Earth... this simulation was on a space station. Sakurako was in a Sci-Fi mood tonight... Sakurako assigns the entry point on the dock, facing the island with a wave of her hand. The arch to the simulator room appears soon after. "Well, Casey... I hope this is cool..." She said, waiting for her friend to arrive.
  16. Sakurako twirled her EMWand. "Electrovore huh? Now this could require study... your job is tracking and keeping tabs on these creatures, correct?" She said, walking over to Phoenix, setting her wand to it's medical mode. "I can help with her injuries, but there is still one more question... why the subterfuge? It seems our goals are intertwined." "If this Electrovore is a threat, it seems it has gotten out of hand and you guys seem to need help. Luckily electricity is right up my alley, guys." She said. "I wager this machine over here then contains it's power? I can get it working again if you would not mind me taking a look once I help her." "And don't play the "don't need help card". Check the bravado and pride for now. The city is in danger. There's been power surges and so far it's not affected an airport or hospital... but what would happen if it did? Let us help you and we can get this crisis in the making contained in no time." "Fancy outfits by the way... what are they... with how these obvious uniforms look you guys are a team?"
  17. Sakurako smiled. "It's not really a matter of sharing or anything, it's just the fact of the matter we ended up double-booked." She said, hovering over and sighing. Things not going as planned always bothered her, even when some adaptation could be made. "Might as well make the best of it I suppose." She looked at a worn spot on her suit, seems her repair work on it wasn't cosmetically sound. The color changing cells in the outer skin seemed to be darker in the area. "Well... let's see who else shows up then we can figure out something. I'm just hoping everyone else will see it the same way, being upperclassmen and all." She was still sort of dyed in the wool from her time in Japan at school. Everything was about their year... almost like a rank. "Someone might pull rank and say they get priority over the underclassmen." "The way I see it, we all gotta keep up on our training and if that means sharing, that's probably what was intended." Leave it to Sakurako to imply a reason over a obvious clerical error. But if that can smooth out questions...
  18. "We... got a problem, Casey." "It seems that the Next Gens are booked here at the exact same time as we in Young Freedom are. We were set up here for Skill improvement today. Just things like power marksmanship and melee training. Nothing more exiting than that. Lord knows I need the training in the melee portion of things. I'm sort of bad at that." She said, rubbing the scar on her forehead from the mecha-crab that whomped her a couple months prior. "In other news I'm planning on some flight upgrades soon... might help the whole distance-keeping quotient for my flight system to be faster than someone's capability to grab me." She said, starting to hover off the ground the gold with blue stripe sailor collar of her costume/uniform starting to move as if it was in zero gravity. "You're looking brilliant in your flight control, by the way. Seems the last simulations with me and you dodging falling debris helps."
  19. Sakurako walks over to the simulator doors, in her suit set to claremont colors, looking at the display monitor, she scratched her head at the schedule. "Eh? Seems the Next Gens are scheduled here too... this is odd." She knew Casey would be arriving soon, they did have some training to do together... it seemed Sakurako liked partnering more with Miracle Girl than trying to get the others in Young Freedom together. Although this might finally bring the others in. "Well... we'd have to figure out what to do with this error. No sense complaining now when this is about to get going." Walking in she looked at the gold-line grid pattern on a black background... the complete, advanced simulator projection system. "Never gets old looking at this thing. Computer, what is the scheduled simulation for Young Freedom today?" "Skill Improvement..." Sakurako rubbed the top of her helmet. "Something simple then. What is Next Gen planning?" "You are not authorized, unless you have the password..." Sakurako sighed. "Okaaaay... Seems there will be some negotiation after all." She stood in the center of the room with arms crossed. "This system for room reservation needs to be automated."
  20. I'm taking a bit of time away. 1: To let my thread move 2: To take a break 3: To make plans.
  21. Okay, I'm waiting for Rob and EP to post. Also just flying on to a ship unannounced and uninvited doesn't sound legal in any sense, and there is no evidence as of yet that the ship IS anything but a cargo ship.
  22. Welcome back, Doc. These are interesting times, but from what I've been hearing things'll pull through.
  23. Thanks for what little time we had together, SC.
  24. "On it, boss. I wager my supervisor will let me in on the normal flight tests and when my next one will be." She said as Miss A nodded as she left. "Paperwork... all the paperwork." Naomi sighed as she started going through the formalities. "All this legal mumbo-jumbo. Miss A was right." She shook her head at the page count as Emerson looked at her in an approximation of curiosity. "At least you're built to be scurrying about." She said, putting her feet up, resting the tablet on her knees. "I need a secretary bot." It was close to the middle of the day when she completed her work, setting it in a prescribed place. There was an announcement soon after. "Please follow the red arrows to the exit." It said as the doors opened and the elevator back down to the ground floor opened as well. "Thank you for choosing Archetech for your employment, Miss Baines." Naomi stood up and headed out. "Don't be a stranger Emerson." Naomi said, placing her root beer mug on the table next to the paperwork, heading off to her elevator. "I just hope they get my size right." She says as the doors close behind her.
