  1. I have life support. I'm in my suit, after all. Search Check: 1d20+10 15
  2. Endeavor lands back on the deck of the yacht, brushing off where the shot the drone managed to get off struck, above her kidney. It was a little tender, but nothing a Advil couldn't help. "Looks like I both overestimated the enemy, and underestimated my own capabilities. But we should get moving. Mom... can you send the yacht out? I know of a old small dock that when Claremont was a normal private academy used for it's sailing team. We can park there for a short time until the heat dies down. Meanwhile..." She detaches the life preserver from her vest, setting it on the deck. "...I'm going to head into the water and see if I can retrieve something of that drone. I wanna see if there is any left-over bits with functioning memory or CPUs... any intel is better than nothing." She walked over to the rail. "I'll be five minutes, then we should get under-way." She jumped into the water, the slight buoyancy her suit provided changed as air vented from her suit, letting her dive down into the water near where she saw the drone get splashed. She wasn't the best of swimmers, but she didn't have to worry about drowning. "Looks like I'm gonna have to take some swimming classes after all..."
  3. Blap. Okay I intend on retrieving the bits and pieces for analysis (and disarming). Also, my first swim check. HAHA thank god I got life support and intend to sink at first... Swim Check: 1d20-1 8
  4. "I wouldn't worry about it, Casey... to be honest we don't know anything yet about what's going on and just standing looking impressed at the lightshow is just going to let whoever is up there get away with whatever they're doing... what if a superhero here needs our help, even?" The thought started getting Endeavor reviewing all of her first aid and rescue training. "I hope you know how to deal with a sucking chest wound." Sakurako kept the high ground, she loved being the aerial support. One, to keep an eye on Vonnie and Casey, and to other to make it easier for her to bring her ranged assets to bear. She was glad the black side of her rain cape was out and not the pink. Perhaps that forethought would help not having her be noticed... then again three teenagers well out past curfew running to danger was one hell of a tip-off. "You guys do this often? This seems way more fun than just search and rescue... or Recovery."
  5. Sakurako slid back from the hit, but she thanked her foresight to create the outer membrane of her suit out of a Graphene derivative polymer. "Mom, Dad, prepare to defend yourselves!" She shouted, her wand still in hand from her calibrations as she dashed into the air to close within her comfortable range of attack with her wand. "Hannah... this isn't a chase." Sakurako said, pointing her EM Wand at the drone. "This is a foolish endeavor!" She unloaded a blast of lightning, streaming from the tip of her want at the attack drone! "TAKE THIS!"
  6. Now my attack... Sakurako will close to 70 feet to engage within increment. It's pretty much a Rank 7 Blast so I wager it's 70 feet. Electric Discharge Mode (Electrical Control), Ranged, DC22 Toughness, Damage (Electricity) Attacking the drone...: 1d20+7 16 - Will probably miss this first shot... Free Action: Warn parents to get their head down... Move Action: Fly to close to 70 feet, while 70 feet in the air. Standard Action: Attack!
  7. Initiative: 1d20 2 - Well I am just one higher on the initiative count. Toughness vs DC23: 1d20+7 13 - Hero pointing this. Stunned before my first swing isn't good. Toughness vs DC23 (after Hero Point): 1d20+7 16 - Rolled a 9, so this is actually 19. Failed Toughness by 1, Bruised Initiative: 2 1 Hero Point Left Note I made a mistake, I thought the DC was 23, not 20...
  8. "That... is not the weather of the world... Looks like we found our problem, team." Sakurako said, pulling out her EM wand setting it into it's offensive mode. "Whatever we do, we shouldn't opt for a direct confrontat..." Vonnie runs off. "Well, so much for forming a strategy for this." Sakurako said with a sigh, but then grins. "Okay we'd better make sure no one suprises Vonnie. Let's go, Casey!" Sakurako could think on her feet, she always managed at least to have some preparation for a crisis. But this was a potential classic superhuman brawl. She just hoped what her Mom and Dad taught her in terms of self-defense was a good set of lessons, or she would be in for some hurt. Perhaps even her team as a result not holding up her end of the bargain. She knew she was a ranged expert, so sticking to her marksmanship to cover her teammates once hostilities started seemed to be the best tactic. "I'll hang back and provide cover fire once the fight starts."
  9. Sakurako smiled as she took off. When she was beside Casey, she handed over a pair of what looked like lab goggles. "Here ya go, it'll help keep the rain out of your eyes. You don't got a windscreen like I do." she said, pointing at the bubble-helmet like helmet she had on. She turned on the flashlight she was taking with her, after discovering how short-ranged the light mode on her wand was, it seemed prudent. "I really should install some running lights on my suit. Would help in conditions like this... maybe a mini-floodlamp to boot." "You know... I could have swore you were talking about getting a costume together. I wouldn't be against offering advice."
  10. 50 mph is plenty fast... should get there in a couple minutes.
  11. Casey, you flying at Sakurako's top speed of 100 mph for this? Should get us to where we need to be super easy.
  12. "I think even if I wouldn't have gone down there tonight this would have happened anyways. it's better to have had it happen now, and not when the enemy has had time to prepare. That's not my sister. No sister of mine would behave like this! I wouldn't allow it." She turned to her father. "You know we really should go further with that stem cell treatment of your heart muscles while I start designing that nanite injection to help clean and repair your arteries." She said, worried about her dad as the drone closed in closer... that was her weakness, putting other's concerns first when a major concern was closing in behind her. With malice in it's cold, emotionless camera lenses.
  13. Do I even know it's there, yet? Is it even there yet? There was nothing in your last post that stated I knew it was there, or that it was there.
  14. Good luck, and thank you for your service, BR! From the kid of a Navy dad.
  15. "Then what is the first step, Mother... Father?" She adjusted her vest. Reloading a CO2 cartridge after making sure her vest was nice and flat, rolling it back up into it's stowed configuration. "I'm drawing a blank here. I've just started at Claremont and I well... I'm out of my element here. Heck, I thought I was in those sewers back... wait... it is possible to get a signal out from the sewers given proper time to set up, right?" Sakurako asked, her paranoia creeping on her. "Doc Sparks had drones, hovering little things that could fire off knock-out darts that are dosed with a pretty decent neuro-inhibitor that practically paralyzes any non-autonomic functions of the body rather quickly." Itching her nose... "I don't know if they were bound to the sewer or not." She said, pulling out her wand and calibrating it.
  16. "N... nothing that was pointing towards us. It seemed they knew about us more than anything, anyways. Anything I could have said would have just been something they already knew, Father." She said. "To be honest they sprung this on me. If anything we're already compromised. To think I was going to give Doctor Sparks aid in getting away from the Circus Maximus. At least give him somewhere to start from. Thing is... he's done some really bad things it sounds like and even if he was on the up and up, he's a just criminal." She sighed as Hikaru injected her. The bee-sting like injection was, probably just the start of her problems tonight. "I've... I got in deep tonight. Literally in this case." "But, it makes sense that there is the possibility someone might have taken one of my... sisters. But tossed them aside seeing how fatally flawed they were, perhaps? It would make sense for a superhuman criminal to take some child with the potential to be a supergenius. They just didn't have the capability to fix their flaws... maybe that's why she wanted my genetic matter so badly. I could patch the holes in her genome possibly." "Thing is she's been driven mad. She's on the hunt and still remembers you two. She's taken it personal and it seems her whole act as "Hannah" was a ruse to get me where she needed me while taking care of her nervous system issues." She started to visibly shake with emotion. "She... didn't need me in the first place. She just set me up. She PLAYED ME!" She shouted, her father steadying her to keep her from moving much. "I'm... nothing more than some organ donor to her!" She said, clenching her fist. "The only other person on this planet like me and she's hunting me like some animal!" Her parents could tell that Sakurako was emotionally compromised.
  17. Sakurako turned around. "You don't have to think of it like that, Errant. To be honest, I think I'm the only person here in your presence that to be honest is curious and wanting to understand. We got our own noises in our collective brains. Yours from without, mine from within. The quieter it gets, the more calm it gets, the more my mind starts to try to fill that void with equations and designs. You want to shut thoughts out, to only have your internal monologue. I'd just like a moment's peace myself. A quiet Saturday Morning turns into a Sunday night as I'm slaving over some equation on what amounts to energy drinks and so-called food that has probably shaved six months off my life. All because I was chasing dragons." She sighed. "Trust me, Errant... listen to the gears in my head, they don't know the meaning of the word 'stop'." "I see why you like being alone... it's like being in a factory, you want to get away from that noise and the ringing. I want to be around people for the same reason. I need a distraction, and there's only two ways I know to get it. Either being with people, or sticking an iPod into my ears and listening to music." "I doubt there is no Weird Al discology enough to be your shield." She said with a smile. "To be honest, I hate being the genius, but that is me. Who do you see yourself to be?"
  18. Sakurako sighed. "And there you go again. Not sure if what I was thinking was broadcasting or not, but you looked. Then you're making demands? This isn't a one way street with me, Errant." She said, setting her tray on a table before walking up to Errant. Her eyes were purposeful, not really threatening, but he could hear one hell of a lecture coming up from her brain being distilled into as few words as possible. But she was intentionally concentrating on what she wanted to say before saying it. "Some people aren't into people who look into their lives at all. You're like some sort of person who watches individuals that interest them publically... it's in the public domain, but such watching is... creepy. The intrusion is the stating of those surface "thoughts" and you're like that creepy guy who likes "people watching". Can you see how I and Casey felt?" She sighed. "I'm not one for confrontations, Errant. It's not me. I know you, I, and everyone here are just getting started on knowing how to use what we got. Forgive me when I say you got a cheat code, and that's what rustles people." There was nothing but truth there... Sakurako was actually starting to change her mind on the spot, thinking about things instead of relying on emotion. She picks up her tray again. "I'm coming, Casey... I'm behind you." She looked back to Errant. He knew there wasn't pity. Suddenly there was a... curiosity. "You know... I take that back... I don't see it as a cheat code, Errant... You got something pretty damn awesome when you learn how to really put it to use." Endeavor heads back to the cafeteria, smiling.
  19. Sakurako sat down, opening her helmet and starting to let the air out of her life preserver. "Starting off, I have an admission... I decided to go solo to do a humanitarian mission for a clerk at that game shop I frequent... thing is one it was in fact in the sewers, two it was with a scientist who had ties with the Circus Maximus who was looking to get away from them and three... bad things happened." She looked to her mother as the air hissed out. "Doctor Sparks is the name of the individual on the run from the CM... and... he had offered this girl, named Hannah, who had a unique form of Ataxia some assistance she desperately needed... it was a form that was terminal. Genetic." She looked to Mikoto. "Question... what happened to the synth-womb I was in when I was born? Also... was there a sister? Because after Dr. Sparks did his cybernetic operation, which by the way was a unabashed success, Hannah started claiming she was my sister screaming for my genetic data like some mad genius. Well that and she could psychically hack my brain..." She massaged her head. "It was... bad. Very, very bad what I stumbled into." She said, starting to shiver from fear. Her clinical analysis was quickly eroding.
  20. Here is some info on Saku's mom and dad. Mikoto Hino, 40, Mother Short black hair, brown eyes, prefers overalls and things quickly cleaned. Wears a sailor collared jumpsuit on the yacht, with a life preserver when on deck. Will most likely be on the yacht when Sakurako arrived. Former "Ensign Minneapolis", always busy with some new invention, encourages Sakurako to think for herself. Lets Sakurako make mistakes to learn from them. She is kind, but also firm on the family's rules. Also a bit of a worry wart towards her Daughter who is getting into the hero business. Hikaru Hino, 45, Father Dark blue hair, blue eyes, wears business suits, prefers tshirts and blue jeans when casual. Former battlesuit hero "Tetsuryu", consummate businessman, too busy with his corporation for his inventing. Almost always out on business. When he is around he always tries to spend as much time as he can with Sakurako - generally meaning away from the workshop and actually going out. Sometimes is guilty over not being there for Sakurako.
  21. Always has to be bugs... Then again the brain trust of Freedom City could come up with something... I hope.
