  1. How many Mercs are there visible? Also before I act, does the Helicopter have open doors on the sides? Also where is Samaritan?
  2. Sakurako sat down, looking over everyone. "So, guys, any ideas as to what to do this evening? I've got nothing to do as I've got no classes tomorrow, and I'm really just interested in the entire school." She looked at the campus map. "Sad there's no indoor pool. A swim would be fun about now. If there was some who wouldn't mind being with me, I'm not the best swimmer." She said, blushing. "Unless someone wouldn't mind taking me on a tour away from the standard tourist traps." She smiled as she continued her meal. "Unless there's a plan for some more heroic efforts tonight? Or perhaps something else..." "Although I'd like to hear some ideas from you guys, too!"
  3. Nah. I got an idea of what to do when my turn is up, L2B. The reason why I didn't attempt a re-roll with a hero point.
  4. Nevermind... making rolls shortly. Rolling for Endeavor's Initiative Initiative: 1d20+0 8 Also, next time you have a major combat helicopter in the area, make it more obvious? It only got a 4 word mention in two posts you made. Before I first posted. Also I didn't know we could go in for attacks. I thought you couldn't do that until initiatives were rolled.
  5. Player Name: The Osprey Character Name: Seahawk Power Level: 10 (150/150PP) Trade-Offs: 0 Attack / 0 Damage, +3 Defense / -3 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 0/30 In Brief: Seahawk is a Immortal Archetech test pilot by day, and a hard-hitting superheroine by night! Residence: Freedom City, Riverside Neighborhood Base of Operations: Archetech Aerospoace Research Catchphrase: "Commence Sortie!" Alternate Identity: Identity: Secret - Naomi Baines Birthplace: Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom Occupation: Test Pilot Affiliations: Archetech Family: Da'lith (aka Setsuna, Mother) 134 years old, Derek (Father) Deceased Description: Age: 24 (DoB: 8th January, 1991) Apparent Age: 18 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5'6" Weight: 150 Eyes: Green Hair: Blonde Seahawk would seem like your average young adult, nothing of real note in terms of appearance other than the scar over her left eye and her elf-like ears. A sign of her genetic lineage with the Ga'Hai Power Descriptions: Her primary power is her ability to regenerate from damage at a heightened rate, even from the dead. As well she can concentrate psychic force into her punches and kicks to cause greater damage against an opponent. As a Archetech Test Pilot, she also has access to a highly advanced flight suit, and a prototype flight pack. History: Naomi was a girl who was always fascinated with flying. It was her distraction while living with her aunt after her parents died in a car accident when she was very young. She focused on qualifying to be a military aviator, but due to anti-depressants she was on most of her childhood, she was disqualified from enlistment. So, she did the next best thing. She got a high-grade pilot's licence, then got an advanced parachutist certification, and started being a aerobatic pilot, eventually getting picked for being a racing pilot. She did great, but after one malfunction that caused her to bail out, but not before risking herself to get the plane away from spectators that she got the attention of Archetech's test pilot program. Her educational needs in being prepared to fly military-grade jets were payed for, and she took to her lessens with gusto, eventually getting to fly the best that Archetech had to offer. After some sabotage to her ejection seat and engines by SHADOW agents on a jet she was testing a new high-efficiency engine on, she ended up dead. Or at least that was what should have happened. Instead her life became far, far more complex. She woke up in the water, and cut away from her tangled mess of a parachute that was keeping her stuck to the bay floor like some macabre balloon due to her life preserver. Then she had to figure a way back to shore. All the while wondering how she survived. When she makes it back many interesting incidents happen near the hangars for Archetech's Aviation Division. After the crisis settled, she had time to realize what happened. She discovered she didn't look human anymore. Her once brown hair and blue eyes turned into blonde hair, stark green eyes, and pointed elf-like ears. Later she discovered that she had a heightened healing factor, to the point that even fatal damage wasn't an issue. She has a lot of questions about her past, and strangely enough a familiar face delivers the first bit. Her Mother, days later. She tells her that she is one of a handful left of an Alien race called the Ga'Hai, a honorible and just warrior race that would come to the aid of the downtrodden, lost to the galaxy due to the machinations of the Communion, when in a last ditch, thinking they could stop them caused their homeworld's star to go supernova. Sadly the Ga'Hai lost all of their colonies before hand, and only about 200 single-person escape ships escaped into the depths of the galaxy. Naomi's mother made it to Earth. Setsuna revealed in the car accident she felt such sorrow she slipped away into the night from where the car accident occurred to mourn for her husband. She realized how fragile humans were. The news and how it was delivered was such a shock... sticking to what she knew and re-applying herself as a test pilot, Miss America herself had a proposition... a special flight suit and flight pack was hers if she would fight alongside Freedom City's finest in the cause of justice. To Naomi, this was just a new style of test flight. Personality & Motivation: Naomi is a calm customer, always thinking of her options and measuring her risks. She's motivated by trying to develop her changed identity as Naomi, and loves her duties as the superheroine Seahawk. Powers & Tactics: Naomi loves to get up-close and personal then getting away to set up another strike. In an aircraft she will push an aircraft to it's limits in order to take on any aerial foe. Complications: "I feel the need..." : Seahawk is impatient, she loves to dash in with reckless abandon and this leads sometimes into her not looking where she's leaping. "...the need, for speed!!!" : Seahawk is a speed freak, willing to push the envelope, perhaps too hard to prove a point. Secret: Seahawk is Naomi Baines, Test Pilot and employ of the Aeronautics division of Archetech. "Call me Keebler again, I dare you." : Naomi is sensitive about her appearance and glad she hides it as Seahawk. 6. ENDEAVOR Sakurako had her eyes fixed on the flight system of her suit. She had just got done making some final corrections to her flight systems after repairing her suit after her encounter with one of Doc Okaku's crab-drones a couple weeks ago. As she was flying low over North River, what was happening on the Mangold bridge was apparent with the smoke and flame... then the sound of gunshots. "Crap, gonna be one of those days again..." Sakurako muttered, pressing a button on her wrist as her high-visibility suit changed it's color patterns to the Claremont blue and gold, the Claremont seal even appeared on her utility vest. That also called the emergency response line immediately. After a dispatcher answered she didn't skip a beat. "This is Endeavor, There's been a massive traffic incident on the Mangold bridge, shots fired. I'm going in to investigate. The scene might be hostile." She raised altitude, looking at the scene overall, spotting an armored car, the semi blocking the road, and a oil tanker... the calculations in her head as to what was going on began, but she had a hunch. Made obvious from the people swarming the armored car. She quickly flew at the Armored Car, landing on it's roof. Over her comlink... "Yep... Robbery. I'll get back to you... end communication." She said, brandishing her EMWand tightly in one hand. "OKAY! I'm only going to request this once. Drop your weapons and surrender!" she said, shouting over the chaos. She didn't expect them to... but there was protocol to follow. Then again she didn't know if they would take a young sailor suited heroine seriously.
  7. I don't know how I can come into this. It's almost 10am on a school day for Endeavor. I'll try a post, not sure if it'll make sense or anything. Posted.
  8. I'm tentatively thinking Endeavor might get caught up into this. She could be visiting the museum when the attack occurs and she has to deal with a pretty high-potency crisis. Although I don't know what your view on having Claremonters in this is.
  9. THE DEADLIEST CATCH or... GIANT ENEMY CRAB - Featuring Endeavor Coast Guard Base Lonely Point December 28, 2014, 0345 hrs EST Duncan Summers, Headmaster of Claremont Academy, and for right now the concerned bedside guardian of a certain young charge. The charge in question was Sakurako laying in the bed he sat beside, a IV dripping into her arm while bandages covered her forehead and several spots on her body. That and she had thermal blankets covering her. Obvious methods of treating hypothermia. Her torn up suit, the symbol of her genius, laid next to her on top of a inflated life vest. Her helmet shattered, with bloodstains on the clear plastic-like material. There was obvious signs of combat. Heavy combat. Something she shouldn't have survived. Sakurako opened her eyes, once a academy nurse arrived, using a odd device brought from the school, she weakly looked over to Duncan. "H... Headmaster? I... Suppose this means I'm not... dead." "No, but I really want to know what happened out there on that trawler." Sakurako sat up, as the nurse removed the IV. "I thought at least Mom would be here... she's real busy on SAR through this darned invasion isn't she?" "Yeah, she saved a couple starfighter pilots off the coast of Africa a little while ago, while your Father is handling restoring some communications in London with all of AEGIS' assets globally." She gulped. "Perfect timing for Doctor Otaku to strike then." Duncan widened his eyes. "I headed out from Claremont at abour 2230 last night to assist in the repairs of the engine of a fishing trawler, the "Heaven's Bounty". A decent sized ship, something that could be used commercially. It's engined went off line, taking out power and shutting off it's bilge right in the middle of a decent nor'easter passing by." "I was pretty much done, and was taking my kit and what not back on deck when a metallic crab crawled on to the deck." "A small crab did all this to you?" Duncan asked. "I don't call something approximately 15 meters in width and armed with micro-missiles small." "It had a set of speakers on it with a couple cameras with it's eye stalks and I heard..." Duncan wasn't liking what was about to be said. "Doc Otaku was the first person to talk. He was suprised that I was on the deck, considering it a stroke of luck. Then I heard her. Hannah." Mr. Summers massaged his graying temples as Sakurako continued. "She was suprised that the simple test of Doc's crab for a heist he was planning would end up having me present. She'd have my genetic data and some combat data." "Things went crazy. I knew that I couldn't fight that thing on the boat and the target was me instead of whatever fate was being concieved for that trawler. It was one HECK of a firefight. I was skating along in the valleys of 5-6 foot waves. That crab constantly changing it's tactics from being a fast submersible to flying over the water." "I had to end it quick, as Hannah it seemed tried to bait me by threatening the trawler with a torpedo. I took it out then played my ace. I rigged my EMWand to self-destruct with a massive, and I mean massive EMP cascade. But in order for me to isolate the pulse I had to leap on that thing and fire it into a crack I made in it's armor. It worked but as it started to sink, it knocked me off in it's death throes." "I heard lots of ripping on the body of my suit, as well as the faceplate of my helmet shattering. I think I heard some hissing coming from my life support too. I remember the cold and the wind... and the waves striking my face. Hard to breathe." She curled up while she was sitting in her bed. She looked over at the life vest, the spray hood on it was unfurled and covered with blood as well. "Looks like I was concious enough to pull the spray hood over my vest before the cold and my injuries took me out." Duncan nodded. "The crew of that trawler took you here. You were more than out of it. They used a portable defibrulator on you too. You... were dead for about a minute as your heart stopped from the cold water. Either that or the shock of your injuries... one or the other." "Will there be any lasting damage?" Duncan sighed with some relief. "No... you got a couple hairlined ribs, a contusion to your forehead, several cuts and bruises. Nurse Allen is filling in for our head nurse... she's using some tech we borrowed from AEGIS to get you ambulatory." "Taking me to a hospital?" "No, to the Academy Dispensary. It'll be a couple days of rest for you. We don't want to concentrate casualties to just one place from all this chaos." "I... Understand. To think my first real experience with an alien race visiting earth, even in passing, and it's hostile, and all the grownups are tied up in some sort of interstellar war." Duncan placed a reassuring hand on Sakurako's shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Trust me, you're going to have a lot of that to do in the future." The nurse wheeled in a wheelchair. "I'm wagering you're also once you're better going to want to fix up your suit." "I got some ideas for upgrades too." She sat her things on her lap after getting into the wheelchair. For now it seemed, Sakurako earned some time off. ~fin
  10. Sakurako adjusted herself, taking her mission vest off setting it aside, slipping her EM Wand in a loop at her waist. "Simple... Hannah and I will have to face down over the internet. Still got that supercomputer below deck with the VR sensory deprivation interface tank? I think it's about time to bring it online again. I think it's time for me to go to war." She looked at her parents. "I will stop her with my skill. And set things up to have her captured." She looked at the deck. "I need to know what the full extent of her issues are... I can't just let her settle for this... that implant in her head, while helping her now, is a stop-gap measure." She said, looking back up to her parents. "...but I will make sure she won't be a threat to herself or others."
  11. "I was aware you two were superheroes... and you guys created the womb to create me..." She took the drive and walked over to a bag where she had put her laptop far earlier in the day. She was visiting her folks for a couple weeks around the holidays before returning to the Academy just after Christmas... for some reason the faculty wanted students back on Campus on Christmas Eve. What was odder the students with supers for parents didn't object. Sakurako adjusted herself as she put the drive into her laptop, then placed her hand on it, accessing it with her suit's onboard wifi interface. What she saw was one part amazing, one part shocking. "So... you took technology impounded from Doc Otaku dealing with genetic cloning and adapted it to making an artificial womb..." she sighed. "...I think we have our prime suspect in getting Hannah this far... I honestly have no objections towards what you two did. You took something Otaku was doing for his own selfish gains and did something wonderful!" She walked over to her parents, hugging them both. "Now I hate him even more, he didn't even give Hannah parents like you... then again she might be better adjusted as well if he did."
  12. Sakurako smiled. "I... I do have a sister." She sat up. "Question... how would someone like Hannah remember you two as much as I?" She got back to her feet twirling her EM Wand as her brain started "cooking", her playful term for chasing a train of thought. "Conjecture: It's obvious from then to now, someone had to have taken care of her, and judging by her age and mine, it had to be at least a few years, perhaps between several parents, but who? Who would tell her you two are her original genetic relatives?" "Answer? Someone who knows you had the technology." "Either this was an inside job, or the tech from MY most sacred of things isn't made from your effort alone..." She quirked an eyebrow. "Who? Who's technology is part of your creation?"
  13. Sakurako quirked her eyebrow. "I see... the power supply intake uses a rather common junction port designed in China. Mass produced garbage. That and the alloy is sub-par." She looked at the blaster she recovered, using her EM Wand's ability to electromagnetically move things to manipulate the now defunct blaster's arm. "I see... 45 degrees of freedom at it's attachment point. The needles on the KO drug syringes are pretty fragile too, something to note when it attacks." She looks over her pile, playfully flipping her EM-Wand like a certain time-travelling alien from a favorite TV show twirled a similar gadget. Bored she inflates her life vest, flopping back to the deck using her vest like a pillow and headrest. "Hmm... so when approaching the drones, this would favor a quick-strike tactic, moving in a clock-wise pattern as it seems with the wear on the shoulder joint of that blaster the operator is left-handed. That and hitting at the joint junction between the visual sensor and the body would cause a breach near the power input jack... Well as to be expected with a drone constructed in a sewer..." She looked up at the darkening sky. "I'll find you, Hannah... somehow I will." She hugged herself, feeling like a part of her was suddenly missing.
  14. Luckily I got improvised tools already! Knowledge (Tech) check: 1d20+10 13 - Here goes my last hero point... Knowledge (Tech) check (Hero Pointed): 1d20+10 28 - BOOYAH! +2 Attack and Defense Against the drones!
  15. Okay looking over the drone bits. What do I do here? Craft check?
  16. Sakurako just shook her head as she stepped aboard, her suit back to normal. She sat her drone remains on the deck and occupied her time looking them over by hand, after hooking her life preserver back up to her vest first, of course. After all, didn't want to get ticketed for not having enough life preservers on board. She watched the officers as she started checking the parts. Looking to see if there was any power supply still there for the drone... if not she could rig up her wand to provide the electricity needed to power something. "Mom, Dad, it's best to let them look. She's got us stuck here for a while, no use crying over spilled milk. I just hope you got all the proper safety equipment on board... I can't remember if it was my turn to do the maintenance this time or Dad..." She said, scratching her head, looking over the piece of drone she had in her hand. She was so engrossed, she just seemed to loop in her conversation with random things. "Hmm... Interesting kit they got, should look up my surplus connections to see if I can at least score a different load bearing vest."
  17. Civics (untrained): 1d20+5 10 - Hero Point (1 Point Left) Civics (untrained): 1d20+5 7 - Even worse, got a 12.
  18. Sakurako tried looking up what the exact orders were, but a combination of wireless quality, lack of data, and blocked governmental servers screwed up her plan. "Lovely... if Hannah can't catch us, she's gonna delay us as she gets away." She turned to the Coast Guard officer. "I've got nothing to hide." She said, dumping the remains of the drone on the deck. "Also, I got evidence of a potential attack on my parents. This will take some time to explain, but I have reason to believe that you are being used as a delay for a criminal to get away." "But... I know you have regulations, so let's get this over with, just be on guard, if she'll attack us once, she wouldn't be unexpected to attack again." She let a little air out of her suit as she sat on the rail of the guard boat. "What sort of contraband was reported on board?"
  19. Datalink with the computer on the Yacht. Computer Check!: 1d20+10 29 - Curses, almost a 30. *shakes fist at Orokos*
  20. How about I drop evidence of the hack into the Coast Guard's computers? So the order can be belayed?
  21. Sakurako loads what she finds of use into one of the many draw-string trash bags she had stuffed into her mission vest, then takes a second bag out, opening it, pinching one end off with it's draw-string, then tying it's drawstrings to the bag holding all of the bits. Holding her breath she puts it to a vent on her helmet, then opened the vent letting air flow into the second bag, turning it into a lift bag. With her holding it, it wouldn't shoot up with the added weight of the junked drone, but once Sakurako closed the bag and let it go, it went for the surface. Sakurako herself closed the vent on her helmet, then programming up a new program app on her interface, she has her suit loosen up without it open up for disrobing, then lets air into it from her helmet to start heading for the surface. It's not long till Sakurako and her salvage are sitting on the surface, and she waves to the yacht after stopping the internal venting into her suit. "HEY! I GOT SOMETHING!" She shouted, turning on the flashlight on her vest. "SOMEONE THROW ME A LINE!"
