  1. Trainor Airport... Seahawk was busy doing the maintenance on her suit's equipment, flight-pack and all, when she gets a chirp over her comlink. "Naomi, this is Jase from HQ. We got a Protocol Alpha here at the HQ and we need someone to report. You're first on the list." Naomi sighed. Starting to put on her suit, it's life preserver still inflated to check for leaks, and putting on her flight pack. "Jase, sweetie, you do know I'm doing maintenance on the suit today right? Flight system too." "I'm aware but this isn't a..." There is a static before the comlink cuts out. "Wait... Protocol Alpha... CRAP. No time to be embarassed..." she muttered, pulling up her cowl on her suit and pulling down it's goggles before the helmet closes around her head. Seahawk opens the upper shield to Archetech's test hangar and flies out, hitting trans-sonic almost immediately once she knows her sonic boom won't affect things. In moments she's at Archetech's headquarters, landing in the front foyer, she taps a button on her suit's helmet, changing her suit into the typical navy blue with white trim that is the recognized color combination for Seahawk. She could see the disorganization the chaos in the museum had on the students, so she knew something was up. She closes her eyes as her fists start glowing for a moment. "Can I have a glass of water..." Seahawk walked over to the cooler, gets a cup filled. If this girl was a Protocol Alpha, she didn't look the part of a threat to security. She hands it to Lynn as she looks quisically. "Hey, is she causin' trouble?" She asked security, gesturing towards her. "Fill me in. Everythin's goin' wonky. Better be worth it with me lookin' all like a frigate bird."
  2. "Oh boy..." There was something that was completely, totally, and unavoidingly true about Sakurako "Endeavor" Hino. It is the fact that any new experience to her is a clarion call to discovery. Even the mere implication that the person she was talking to was in posession of something trans-dimensional in origin to her... is bait most succulent. "What sort of technology?" She said, leaning over. Even in her space-sailor looking costume she had a schoolgirlish like curiosity and energy that was almost contagious. "You got someplace safe to show it off?"
  3. Endeavor sighed, opening the faceplate of her suit's helmet while setting her bag down between her legs. "Had to be important to attempt to assault a teenage girl. A unprotected one at that." Sakurako said, looking at her wand. "You did look... desperate. Why were you put up to this? There's just no logic for someone to ask someone else to do a petty mugging in the middle of broad stonking daylight with God knows how many pairs of eyes looking at you." "By Sherlock's pipe... this is vexing. There's just no value to what my friend had in her bag, just some pajamas for her sleep over. I'm just sorry your localized probability had you end up being in the same point in time and space as I was." "So... clear your concience... or better yet if you're under threat then by whom?" Casey could tell Sakurako was flustered at least. She starts breaking out the big money words when suitably angry. She tapped her EMWand on her nose, it glowed slightly. "So many questions..." she said as it flicked open, humming slightly. The way Endeavor said that her last words hung in the air like a lead balloon... about to fall.
  4. "That's the thing. I want this organization to be impartial... not to interfere. But only to be there when needed." Sakurako sighed, shifting on her crate a bit. "Then again, I don't know anymore about things. Dealing with Hannah, almost getting killed... twice... having to deal with all sorts of chaos afterward..." She looked down at the sand. "It's like I'm being given all this around us just to stay with it. Thing is... right now I don't know if this is what I want right now." "Then again every day I see illustrated why people like us are needed. you can see my dilemma, right?" She sighs, nibbling on her polish sausage she was cooking up. "What I'd give for a basic rescue right now. No villains, no weirdness."
  5. Uh, what is happening? No one has told me all this stuff happened since the last post. So apparently I've been moved into holding with casey in the same room as the criminal that tried to mug her? I don't know what I'm doing here but sitting and waiting.
  6. Oh, yeah I was getting a little thrown off, I think I was distracted.
  7. Rav, Twins? Casey and I don't look alike.
  8. "I'm sorry... so sorry..." Endeavor pressed a button on her EMWand and a bolt of lightning slammed into the guy trying to steal Casey's bag. She had tuned it down so the damage wouldn't be permanent. But he would remember. "Don't got time to ask who this girl is..." She said, turning to Casey. "Luckily you got a strong backpack." She looked over to the wreck that was her clothes. "Just lost a favorite blouse over this." "I wager once we talk to the authorities we could shop for some new clothing, but... t-shirts just don't have the same charm as what I had." She kept an eye of the person she bolted, noting where the portable defibrulator was mounted on a wall nearby, just in case his heart was stopped.
  9. I'm going to be taking it slow for a couple of days to get back in the swing of things. I should be more focused this weekend.
  10. "Let's keep the technicalities for after this crisis, everyone." Endeavor said, moving the device. "I'll get this loaded." When she saw how the device was put together... "Someone pull that and that pin, the device will stay together, but it'll fold open in a way that will allow it through the doors. It'll save time when we have to put it back together." She grinned. "Once we get this to the forest we should have this situation under control..." She was still remembering the odd device built into the cage contraption... it wasn't comforting, but... She'd bring it up if it was necessary.
  11. Sakurako swept her hand in front of her, many dots appear on a monochromatic holographic projection. "That's the thing... breaking it down so that friends like you can understand what I'm trying to accomplish." She said, turning the globe with a spatula. "Science works best when scientists collaborate. No boundaries, no borders, no preconceptions. Just the scientific method and a over-arching belief that we want to make the world better." She looked at Casey. "But... people don't understand all of it. It tosses in doubt and that is where those who champion ignorance come in. They..." She smacks the globe, shattering it. "...they undermine the foundation we struggle to create." "What if... what if I formed a group of like minds, not to scheme but to help create a lasting legacy? Something to... counter ignorance with the light of knowledge? Broken down to be the grout that reforms the foundation?" She said, snapping her fingers bringing the globe back together. "The Internet is a powerful tool for knowledge, but also for misinformation. That is where the other half of the organization comes in. Not by silencing critics, but answering the call, defeating them with information. With truth. Distilled to all that is needed, with verifiable results." "Misinformation peddlers have strength in numbers, but they are still a loud minority. But... the internet is a force multiplier. It's... time it played in favor of reason." She sat down on a crate. "In the process I want to set up a trade of data between Scientists. Instead of competing, I want to create a collaborative society, whose only competition is to know more and do more than we did yesterday." She smiled. "It's... something that has been sticking in my mind. And this..." She pulls out a computer tablet. "...is my first "ping" of the scientific community. It's a meritocracy, and the best way to show you're legit... is delivering." "And here you thought I just made super sailor suits..."
  12. I'm going to be on a indefinite leave from the site. I've got a lot to sort out. I'm sorry for worrying everyone, I'll explain privately. It's something personal that drove my decisions today, I should be better in a couple days.
  13. Sakurako hovered off the ground. There was surprisingly no ground effect, and the sound had a tone that was semi-bell like. Almost comforting. "I'm working on upgrading the outer suit membrane to provide a true visual cloak, although the flight system itself isn't very stealthy." She said. And it's primary strike against it in terms of stealth was the light it generated more than any noise. "The repulsor system based on it's very design can't suppress the generation of photons as it interacts with any gasses." "But if I have to get somewhere quiet-like..." She said as she suit took on a black and grey motif as she pointed to a pack on the back of her mission vest that surrounded the back section on her suit that housed the flight system and life support... "...I can parachute into a location and keep to the ground or swim to the location. The parachute is a micro-memory membrane that is self packing, and I can cut away if caught in a tree or something." She brushed off her suit. "But I designed my gear for exploration and rescue. If I'm being asked to go somewhere covertly, many, many poor career choices and mistakes have been made up to that point." She said with a grin. She adjusted her suit, it switching to it's default pink and white color scheme as she lands on her feet. "My usual duties mean I have to be visible. But I wager some subtlety won't hurt... hence the chameleon circuit system I plan on installing."
  14. "This isn't good." Sakurako said, grabbing her EMWand, activating it in it's discharge mode, and closing the clear face plate of her helmet. "The spirits or your own opinion?" Sakurako challenged the woman, crossing her arms. "You would think someone who brings joy to the crowd here would be enjoyable to the plants and trees here as well?! It is something that is well known in science that things that raise "positive energy" seems to have a positive response to plant cells. That and think about it... free CO2... trees in bloom LOVE that." Sakurako leveled her gaze at the woman. "Stand down... this can't be good for the trees health, controlling them like this. Some of these Sakura are old... their roots are fragile!" she shouted.
  15. I probably won't be much of a factor in this... Initiative: 1d20 3 We don't post until it's our turn?
  16. "No." Endeavor said, plainly. "You're bringing that creature back to the city. That creature threatens the safety of the people here. If you're going to engage it with proper bait, engage it somewhere where there isn't a population that is highly reliant on technology." She turned her wand into it's "lifting mode" and the device lifted from the ground like it was nothing. "I am fully capable of carrying the device to the forest or on to a abandoned cargo ship in the bay or somewhere where no one could be harmed if the beast gets stronger." "Engaging it here puts the electrical grid of the city in peril."
  17. "Oh yes, Hard Vacuum no doubt, but I've also visited the wreck of the Titanic with this suit... as for rescues, I'm usually kitted out for that." She said with a smile. She knew this person was very much interested in her heroing... was she another potential Hannah? Sakurako didn't think so... something about Lynn had a hint not of a super villain to be. Sakurako raised up her Index finger. "One moment..." She said picking up her suit again. As she wasn't needing to be fast she didn't destroy her clothing right then and there with her quick-disrobing system, opting to switch out her clothes like a normal person. The black undergarment that helped her put her clothes on and off when changing between her suit and her street clothes preserved all of her modesty, and the shop's rules of no shoes, no shirt, no service. A minute later she was wearing a baggy, mostly deflated fat-suit, before pressing a button tightening her suit around her. Buckling together the mission vest she pressed another button on her wrist changing the color scheme of her suit and gear to a bright, high visibility combination of red, yellow, and white. She had the helmet for the suit form around her head and close up a clear face plate. The life support system quietly hissed to life, as the suit puffed out a little. "There we go..." She said, strapping the EMWand to the belt of her suit. "As for mum and dad... They're starting to come around to this suit. There's still a lot I can improve to make this suit completely my own." She stuffed her street clothes into her bag. "I wager you've seen your fair share of fully fledged superheroes here, no?"
  18. Sakurako knew that the proprietor had her pegged. Using the EMWand was the dead give away. She smiled, setting her backpack and her book selections on the table set up for use for gaming as she pulls out her Exploration Suit. The mission vest still slipped over it, but unbuckled. "Yeah... heroing is in the family too. And yes, I call your predecessors heroes." She said, brushing off some dust on the rubbery pink and white suit. "I designed this off of some ideas from the first suit Mom let me use. She was a sidekick for most of her young life, so I fit pretty good in it when she handed it off to me. After maintaining it a couple times I got ideas for this suit. I've been upgrading slowly ever since." She pointed to the two stripes on the collar. "This is the Mark II design... upgraded the flight system." Sakurako remembered wearing that suit with pride, mixed with the sadness of her duty at times. At least some people found peace anyways. "I didn't want to show up here and make a scene though so I stopped by at a convenience store to change." She blushed. Realizing she picked a overcoat she wore when she was stuck on the Yacht in cool weather she was starting to think the nautical concept of some of her clothes was hinting at a habit... "I... designed my suit more for exploration than stopping criminals but... I seem to be okay at that."
  19. Oh, the list of students could use some updating. Sakurako would be a Junior (She's 17, arriving when she was 16 last year), and she's a Duo with Miracle Girl and is Casey's new room-mate as Shiranui left.
  20. Something didn't make sense... didn't Casey and Vonnie already go into a tagging situation? Don't trust the battlefield. Don't trust your senses in it until you've got your opponent dead to rights. Sakurako looked around. She spotted a steam pipe nearby, so she used her EM-Wand in a surprising way, as Casey sees an energy blade cut through the pipe in a few moments and Sakurako runs off, the steam providing a hot cover behind her. Could Nevermore have some sort of mimicry? Or... How much of our powers are in play... Movement was out of the window but what else... Endeavor stayed vigilant as she ran, checking the corners and sweeping her field of vision. It seemed Plan A wasn't working as planned. That is when she skidded to a stop in the water. She was within 20 feet of Vonnie has he ran down a alley, through the intersection she almost crossed through. Sakurako hid behind a dumpster. This wasn't good...
  21. Sakurako blushed. "I appreciate the offer, but we got plenty of space at the Academy. The faculty would like we stay on campus as much as possible, although there isn't any ban on travel into the city itself." She said, looking over the collection before spotting a certain book on the shelf that made her skip a breath. "No way... mint condition Third Edition Big Eyes, Small Mouth... Still cover price. Eat your heart out, Ebay... I just snaked me a deal..." She thought picking up the red covered book. Lynn noticed the odd device in Sakurako's bag, It wasn't Endeavor's EMWand, that was back in a pocket on her overcoat. She saw a flash of pink and white in her backpack. Sakurako hadn't fully zipped up her bag when she packed her suit into the bag when she changed into something a bit less flashy. She adjusted her overcoat. "How long has the shop been here?"
  22. Sakurako smiled. "First time I've heard someone relish the thought of facing someone's rival..." As she continued to cook, she looked up at the windows and the simulated space outside. "My next couple of years are going to be trying. There is something I'm going to write soon to start getting some notice in the scientific community, and to start finding like minds." She reached for a soda. "I've had a project for a little while brewing in my head... something that has a long-term plan but if it works..." "Sorry... sometimes my brain likes to get away from me." She said, turning her hot dogs. "At least I know now my simulation will work for a birthday party option. Although now I got a feeling that won't happen any time soon. It sort of got pooped on my all the chaos in space and stuff. That and my getting beat up pretty bad by a giant robot crab didn't help." She sighed, stretching out. "I have to be honest, our class at Claremont has been awfully busy, you think?"
