  1. I wouldn't call this outright combat, so no need for initiative, but give me another reflex save to avoid being bitten. DC10 this time, and attack rolls if you try to smash them somehow.
  2. GM Rita struggled to keep up. She was clearly not used to running, and even the adrenaline could only keep her going for so long. If Nicole wasn't pulling her along, she would probably have fallen behind. The mice in their path jumped at them, several falling under Nicole's wheels and being squashed, though it didn't stop their movements. No, it seemed like it would take something much more to get rid of these mice. Rita threw herself into the elevator after Nicole, the stream of mice following as the doors slowly closed. Three mice managed to spill inside, one having its tail caught in the door. It made no sound and simply pulled until the tip of its tail came loose, then launched itself at Nicole and Rita along with its companions.
  3. REBELLION It had been a quiet afternoon so far, at least since Elliot had snuck out from the Shadow Academy. He had been running and jumping across the rooftops for a while now, heading towards the Riverfront, or, to be more accurate, the government buildings in the area. He had so far spent many sleepless nights going through the archives, trying to find anything that could lead him through the real power behind Emerald City, but so far, he had little luck. Hearing a siren, he slowed down and crouched at the corner of a building, peering down at the commotion below. He was currently dressed in dark blue pants, a slightly lighter blue jacket and shoes, and a dress shirt in the same color as his pants. Under his dark blue cap, he was completely black, with only white eyes visible. His standard look as Rebellion, really. And then the armored car came barelling past, with a man in white and black striped criminal outfit riding it, shooting some sort of ray gun everywhere. Whoever he hit seemed to turn into some kind of equally stereotypical criminal. "What the hell?" Even if there were no one around to hear him, Elliot just couldn't help it. Emerald City could be weird, but this? For a moment, he hesitated. This guy was so out there, he probably had nothing to do with the powers that be. He should just leave him alone. And then someone in a chrome helmet flew past. And the truck was a danger... With a reluctant sigh, Rebellion pulled back a few steps and set into a run towards the next building, quickly starting to bounce across the rooftops until he could get close enough to jump towards the car. Fine, then. People were in danger. Those documents would still be there later.
  4. I think you're misreading the rules a bit here, and you start grappling now, so you need to make a grapple roll. Since you got Perception range on Move Object, your total grapple bonus is your Move Object rank x2, so make a roll at +14, and Ahab will oppose that.
  5. It's good, and consider action readied. To save time when the inevitable fight do go down, even if there might be some posts first, can I get some initiative rolls from everyone?
  6. I decided not to use Rebellion anyway, so its Emerald Spider, Kanunu and Shrike, and the thread is up here
  7. OOC for this. @angrydurf, @Tiffany Korta, @Heritage
  8. GM Riverfront August 9th 2019, 4 PM The Riverfront district was as busy as ever on the Friday afternoon. City officials trying to get the last bit of work done before the weekend, locals and visitors starting their weekend in the nearby culture centers and the Yellow Brick Row shopping complex. Traffic had slowed down considerably. Everyone wanted to go somewhere. All in all, a typical Friday afternoon in Emerald City. Peace and quiet, as you would normally find in a city without super villains. Until, suddenly, several men and women stopped what they were doing, and exited their cars. A young man, maybe in his early twenties, stood nearby, appearing seemingly from out of nowhere. He was dressed in a costume with dark and light blue stripes at a 45 degree angle all over his body. He wore light blue boots and small gloves in the same color as the light blue stripes, and had a hood pulled up with the same striped pattern. His eyes were hidden behind a light blue domino mask. One could just spot his short blonde hair at the edges of the hood. His eyes seemed to be glowing white as people left their cards, starting to walk after him and towards the government buildings. Then came the sound, a loud crash as someone big came barelling through the traffic, flipping the cars out of the way while laughing loudly. The ones that caught a good look at him could see a large man, standing at least 10 feet tall, clad in what appeared to be grey armor, stylized like a triceratops, including a large helmet that mimicked that of a triceratops' head: A large flat shield, a pair of horns at his forehead, and a small horn on a part of his helmet over his nose. His eyes were hidden behind black lenses that connected directly to the helmet, while his mouth was left visible. The rest of his armor was the same dull grey as the helmet, consisting of several armored plates interconnecting along his body. He seemed to be running with little rhyme or reason, instead seeming to cause just as much chaos as he could. He didn't seem to care if he hit already empty cars, or cars that still held passengers. Moments after the man had begun his rampage, a bright light illuminated the sky. A woman in a red costume flew from the sky, leaving a trail of fire behind her as she moved. A white sun symbol at the center of her chest seemed to glow as she sent streams of fire flying randomly across the area around her. The yellow goggles that protected her eyes seemed to reflect the light from her flames as she set whatever random targets caught her sight on fire. The goggles were held in place by a heavy leather strap that went over her short black hair. Fire burning in her hands, she came to a stop, hovering above a rather large group of people. "Listen up! I'm Sunburn, and we're the Upstarts! I don't know how a city like this have been this quiet this long, but that's gonna change! This is our city now! So all of you better start handing over everything you got!" Smart phones were capturing everything already. What better place to attack than a city with no other villains? Nowhere to step on your toes or take your score? But the Upstarts had made one mistake: While Emerald City was a city without villains, it was not a city without heroes.
  9. GM Ahab continued running through basement, smashing through anything in his path, while Gauss and Forever Boy followed. Finally, he reached a wall, but rather than wait, he moved up, smashing straight through it and up into the street. For a moment, he simply stopped. All the lights, all the people. "What is this cursed place?" he let out, as he stared out, before he inhaled and smelled something, a grim smile appearing on his lips. "The sea!" He started running, heading towards the nearest water as fast as he could. Still, it would not take much for either Gauss or Forever Boy to catch up.
  10. Forever Boy Pan shook his head sadly, before flying after Selena. "Something like that happened to this Ahab, but he did not die. He came back, determined to kill the Whale, and now look at him. Completely consumed, thinks of nothing else." He paused, while he dodged around a column. "But to be fair, that Whale is quite dangerous, and I have seen the destruction it can cause." He frowned a bit at Selena's question. He had kind of hoped that she hadn't caught on to that bit, but maybe he should come clean? "Ah, nothing, nothing. I was completely innocent!" No, not quite, of course. There was a crash from in front of them, and the light from the street lamps poured in. Whatever he had done, Ahab had managed to smash up to the street from the basement. Pan gave another pause, before finishing his reply. "I might have stolen a rather powerful artifact that Ahab wanted, to make sure that he did not end up using it for anything too bad? And then dropped it into the ocean while taunting him, before flying off? Leaving him stranded on a deserted island? Honestly, it is nothing major! He is clearly overreacting!"
  11. GM The man with the many bones growled and desperately clawed at the webbing stuck to his face. He managed to scratch himself, marks appearing on his face, scratches in the bones that stuck out, but to no avail: The webbing was stuck, and he was unable to see. Despite this, he turned to the sound as Justice called out to him. He probably just couldn't help himself, as the blast slammed into him at full force, knocking him a few feet back, closer to Emerald Spider, leaving him completely open to attack.
  12. Justice Yes! A hit! Robin got him, right in the chest! And... he didn't honestly seem all that bothered by it. What was this thing made of? It couldn't just be regular bones, could it? Had to be something else to him too, aside from the obvious. She wasn't quite used to this armor yet, but keeping her distance had to be the best choice her. Just like Emerald Spider, bouncing all around and calling out and shooting webbing straight into the guy's face. "Awesome!" Robin shouted back in triumph at the Spider's hit. Right in the face, and Mr. Boneface was already grabbing at it, trying to break free. Angling herself a bit, Robin activated the jump jets in her boots, catapulting her back, out of reach and to the right of the bone guy while taking aim. Emerald Spider had bought her a moment, she had to use that. Full power to the Justice Buster. "Hey, hey! Over here!" She had to keep talking, say something, then pull the trigger, the recoil of the blast sending her arms flying upwards. She really needed to do something about that.
  13. That's a hit! Reflex save to avoid being blinded: 17 He's blinded! Justice jumps back out of reach and shoots with the Enhanced Blaster again vs DC22: 1d20+9 = 15 A hit, and TOU from the enemy: 12, staggered and dazed. Only gets a fortitude save vs DC20 to stop being blinded: 16 NOPE, still blind. 26 - Emerald Spider - 2HP - Unharmed 19 - Justice - 1HP - Bruise (x1) 14 - Enemy - Bruise (x2), Blinded (Flatfooted defense -2), Staggered, Dazed (until next turn) ES is up.
  14. GM Agnes had options, of course. The man was heading for another shelter, and who knew, maybe people had disappeared from that? Alternatively, there were the other leads to follow. Maybe the man preaching salvation in the abandoned church near Yeats, or the winged woman near Freedom College? The man seemed to have his own plans, of course, as he continued down the road, before turning sharply. Above, there was a faint sound, like the flapping of wings. If Agnes looked up, she would see a woman with great white wings flying through the sky. She wore a primarily white costume. Form fitting, covering every inch of her body, face included. The costume had a red cross on the face, with the arms of the cross just above her eyes. It also had what appeared to be a large red cross on the outside of each leg and arm. She was heading in the same direction as the man.
  15. Mice avoided, give me an IC!
  16. You're pretty much in the middle of the floor atm. There's a door next to the elevator marked utilities.

  18. GM "Yes... Yes!" Rita shouted, turning and running after Nicole as she rolled past. The door opening before them, revealing much more than just the twelve mice that had been sitting outside moments before. Much like the continuing stream of mice that seemed to be rushing after them, almost like a wave of flesh, fur and metal, the mice seemed to appear from everywhere inside the office. Strangely, despite having been populated with people moments before, the entire office was now empty, save for the mice. They had options of where to go, of course. The elevator. The stairs. Out the window. All had disadvantages and advantages, especially given they were at least a floors above ground. "Argh!" Rita had picked up a floor lamp and was using its rather wide foot to try and smash the mice that were catching up with them. "What the hell? We haven't even tested this many mice!"
  19. So, the mice are pretty much everywhere, and they're COMING FOR YOU! The office floor is pretty open at first view, but with tables and work stations spread out, and some isolated large cubes as offices, like Rita's. I've presented some options of where to try to go, but you are of course free to come up with your own options, or try something entirely different. If you try to get to one of the options I've presented, give me a DC 12 Reflex Save to avoid the mice.
  20. Round and round Jones went. If he wasn't wearing an armor like that, Robin might have had to suppress a giggle at his lines. His gig, his show, his vengeance? Who even talked like that, outside TV? If anything, he sounded just like some anti-hero rivals or tragic bad guys from Kamen Rider. Robin moved another step back, keeping her distance while keeping her gun up. She wanted to be ready if he moved. "What vengeance? Honestly, you wanna kill yourself and everyone else here, whether they're bad guys or not? That's just crazy. That's not vengeance. That'll just make you the bad guy! I know I've just met you, but I think you mean well, so, c'mon! Don't do this! Who is this Anna to you, anyway? Why'd she want to give you a bomb that'd blow up more than she said it would?" Keep talking, keep talking. Look for a way around him to get the hell out of there. Hope he didn't start trying any face punching.
  21. Pan had nodded eagerly along with Veronica's encouragement and request of Davyd. Yes. He would have to try and become a sharktopus! Spread out through the meal, and while walking through the streets, he would occasionally mouth "sharktopus!" to Davyd or any of the others with a wide grin, but of course, he was distracted by so many things along the way, in the shops or on the streets. So many new things. And of course he was the first to be at the front of the tender. He had to be, he would accept no other seat. The smell of the ocean was intoxicating. It reminded him of home and adventure. Grinning widely, he eagerly pointed out any interesting ships they saw on the way. He could feel the wind and the rough water, but he only met it with a laugh as Veronica accelerated. He only laughed as the water splashed over him. "Come now, Veronica! You can do better than that!" he shouted back at her.
  22. U.F.O. "Affirmative." 777's reply was short, before it resumed full stealth. How to approach this situation? It was one thing to hide and follow, another to attempt to stop an enemy combatant without making any noise, or alterting the combatant's allies. It would, perhaps, be best to draw the enemy combatant's attention, drawing it out of the cave. Moving a bit away from the sentry, 777 engaged its tractor beam, a blue-ish white beam shooting out from a panel on its underside and grabbing hold of a rgood size ock. Then it threw the rock forward, a bit away from the enemy combatant, but with enough force to make some noise, hopefully drawing the sentry's attention.
  23. "Affirmative. Designer Sitara's planet of origin is the Earth, in what one could consider ancient times." It was a strange feeling to have someone this excited about it. 777 was not quite sure how it made it feel. Was it pride? It always had trouble with pride. "This unit would be happy to demonstrate the usage of any onboard systems." Still, the Terran had named its weapons as Lor technology. Not quite right, and it felt a tinge of annoyance, even if the Terran had no way of knowing the difference. Alternatively, the Terran might be disappointed to learn that 777 did not originate among the Lor. Curious. "This unit hopes that it will not disappoint, however, it must note that it is not a Lor creation. This unit was designed and created in the Delaztri Empire."
  24. GM The ink written on the book shifted. At first, they simply formed the word GOD in a standard sized font in the middle of the page. Then the word started appearing all over the two pages, until they eventually grew completely black, covered in the words. It almost, but not quite, seemed like the book was moving with the force that caused the words to appear. The ink on the pages shifted again, twisting into the words I WILL REMEMBER YOU. The words lingered for but a moment, before being replaced with the words ROSA THORNE. They in turn faded, the normal text on the page appearing once more. Whatever magic or otherworldly power had been in the book, it was gone. The text in the book itself now seemed concerned with gardening, of all things.
