  1. Making a small change. The group beneath the tree? Not any of you. Well, Endeavour's already there, but besides her.
  2. http://orokos.com/roll/237614 7. Well. That was awful. I'll give you an HP, soufflé, and reroll that. http://orokos.com/roll/237615 8 isn't much better. Buuut it's like an HP reroll. So that's an 18, really. Bruised. horn needs to post before you can, though. I'll wait for both posts before I have the other folks take action again.
  3. You are correct. She's not quite asleep just yet. Too much of a control freak to just let it go already. In other news, Orokos still loves me. http://orokos.com/roll/237603 30. Full on natural 20. I can't even.
  4. Samaritan gets involved in the craziest shenanigans. Also known as he's in for that.

  6. Terrifica’s eyes briefly narrowed. She went through her breathing exercise once more, and the annoyance passed. “Fortunately, I am all three and very good at them. It would be good if you kept in contact with us. You know your machine better than I can learn in this short amount of time.†And although I would prefer to handle this without outside interference… “Your Ms. D ought to also be of use.†She turned and looked at her near doppelganger. “In fact, if you are the kind of woman I think you are, you already have an idea as to where to start looking for his monster.â€
  7. Vonnie had been pretty effectively silenced by Hino's comments about working the aftermath of the tsunami. Unable to think of anything to say to that, he instead tucked into his snack. And by snack, it was a full meal by certain standards. An eight inch cheeseburger sub and fries may or not qualify to a grown up, but for a growing teenage boy? Snack. So, so much. Though he did raise an eyebrow at Casey's massive stack, suggesting he had limits to his consumption. At Errant's description of the sub basements, he added "I have been down there, but I get enough of a workout swinging around town." He polished off the fries and began to finish off the sub as others spoke. He swallowed a bite. "Trust is good, yeah. Though I don't know a thing about school policy. I just do it. Got a mask, got my shirt. I'm good. I don't...use my hero name, really. The news back home called me Samaritan. Cause I kept being a good one, you know? Swinging in and saving people out of nowhere."
  8. The cauliflower monster roared in pain as Trailblazer’s blow struck true. She had somehow wounded the massive creature. The Nutrionist had retreated away from the battle, and her expression was unreadable. Aside from the crazy. Gonzo, gonzo, super gonzo crazy. Her henchmen pulled their banana rifles back out. A quick word from her, and they all aimed and fired staccato bursts at Trailblazer. Something about this woman made them better tacticians than before. The cauliflower monster roared and strained at the bonds Stronghold had placed upon it. It’s strength was such that the orange band of energy showed a hairline fracturing from the monster’s efforts.
  9. http://orokos.com/roll/235726 Only gets 11. Bound and helpless it is. post away, horn.
  10. Return of the chart. The Nutritionist-Uninjured-Villain Queenie-Uninjured-1 HP Cauliflower Monster-1 Bruise and Entangled-Villain Stronghold-Uninjured-2 HP (snare has 1 injury) Trailblazer-Uninjured-1 HP Sugarfree Alliance members 1, 2, & 3-Uninjured-Villain horn, whenever you're ready.
  11. Welp. It's the Sugarfree Alliance's turn to go, and while before they were battling stupidly, with their fearless leader fearlessly leading them, their tactics take an upgrade. Knowing Stronghold is beyond them, they all target Trailblazer instead. With their banana rifles, which are just stylized assault rifles, really. Blast 5 with autofire. http://orokos.com/roll/235704 19 for number 1. Juuust missed. http://orokos.com/roll/235705 6 for number 2. Wide to the side. http://orokos.com/roll/235707 And number 3 keeps the pattern going with an 8. The Nutritionist will continue to be all villainous mastermind-y and do not a blessed thing. The cauliflower monster, however, will attempt to snap those bonds of Stronghold's. So. Toughness check time. DC 31. Oh. that's...kind of impossible. But maybe it'll get a 20. http://orokos.com/roll/235720 I don't believe it. Rolled a 20. 30 total. The snare has been damaged.
  12. Do believe everyone's appropriately tagged. Chime in if you like. Should mention, the gathering under the tree is supposed to be all the ladies. Though, if you've got a better entrance, use it.
  13. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> There you are, fellas. Forgot to tag Errant, though. Scuse me.
  14. There had been a spate of small power outages over the past several days. A slice of Freedom’s grid would blink off for as much as five seconds before blinking back on. A few blocks of one would go out, then come back. Then an entirely different neighborhood. The Fens. Lantern Hill. Southside. Lincoln. Even Bayview and Port Regal managed to get in on the act once or twice. It was weird, but Freedomites didn’t pay a lot of attention to it. It happened mostly in the dead of night. The power company said it’s nothing. More interesting things happened on a literally daily basis. And so on. Until Claremont Academy’s power “blinked†for the third total time, no one had taken much interest in the happenings at all. November 21, 2014. Claremont Academy. 11:45 PM It was a dark and stormy night. No, seriously. There was a pretty good thunderstorm going on in the skies of Freedom. Vonnie would normally be asleep by now. Class in the morning, and all that. But today was sweet, glorious Friday. He and LJ could text each other all night long. Or he could stealth over into the girls’ dorm and spend the night. His roommate slept like the dead, and her roomie slept like a rock. Or was one. LJ couldn’t tell, and Vonnie didn’t care enough to find out for himself. Yep, he was going over there and d#$% the consequences if he got caught. He strapped on his grapples, opened his window, and leapt out into space. A short grapple and climb sequence later, he was at her window. Wet and a bit windblown, but there. A few soft knocks after that, he was in her room and they were both sitting on her bed. Huh. Her roomie both slept like and was kind a rock. That was when the power “blinkedâ€. Somehow just short enough of an outage that the emergency power didn’t trigger and come on. Vonnie sighed. Third time in three days? His “this is a job for Samaritan†sense was tingling. LJ had a similar sense and gave him the “just go already†look. They started having a conversation based entirely on specific looks. <But he didn’t know where to start. Also pressing business here, yes?> <Vonnie, you know better.> Vonnie sighed quietly. “It’s not like New York. I was always first there. But there’s so many heroes in town, now I’m lucky if I’m fifth. I don’t know. I just feel kinda…extra, you know? Like I’m not needed, because someone else will always handle it.†LJ nodded. “So that’s why you’ve been patrolling less lately.†She grew thoughtful. Then she plucked him in the head. “Ow. What was that for?†“You’re overthinking stuff again. You’re not there for the dozen, hundred, thousand or more that don’t need you. You’re there for the one that does. Don’t give up so easy. It’s not like you.†Vonnie stood up. “Alright. But I’m telling you, somebody’s already on this. Probably have it sorted out before I even figure out what’s going on.†On that note, he opened LJ’s window and leaped out. Back in his own room, he grabbed his mask, shirt, and black hooded windbreaker(as his roomie continued sleeping like the dead) and made the most undramatic change from Vonnie Murray into Samaritan. Mask & shirt on. Jacket on, zipped up tight and hood up. This time, though, he’d go out the front door like a normal person. Yes indeed. Being just about the fastest non-speedster on campus did have its perks. He was out of the building before anyone had the chance to realize he was gone. He made it to the Gardens before running into anyone. He thought he recognized some of the group assembled under that big tree, if not all of them. He stripped off the mask, stuffed it into a jacket pocket, and pulled his hood tighter. “Hello?â€
  15. Terrifica seethed. She was absolutely furious, in a way few could manage to make her. I…I don’t think I’ve EVER been so insulted in my life! She wanted to take the good doctor to task for it. She wanted it almost more than she had ever wanted anything in her life. Who does he think he is?! I was being nice! Stan says it’s good when I’m nice! The absolute NEED to verbally tear the aging man apart pressed on her. And she wasn’t even trying to hide it. She almost trembled in pure rage. “Yes, intellect is a tool. Like any other tool, it demands intelligent, wise, and above all responsible use. If one cannot manage to use all of those, then one should not use the tool. I manage to use all three when legions of others do not. It. Is. Not. Arrogance.†Oh, yes. She was the right one, the rightest and most correct. She didn’t make mistakes, those were for lesser minds. And so much other stuff. Then, she remembered her training. A breathing exercise from childhood at the temple. Her fury cooled. “It doesn’t matter. I am here to help you, and to do so as quietly as possible. I will do that. The rest is unimportant to that task.†She studied the charts. “You’re saying it absorbs just thoughts, like a version of telepathy? Or does it soak up intelligence itself?†The speed with which she’d changed tacks was almost dizzying.

Just in case my math has failed this early in the morning.
  17. It's a living being, and that'd be doing lethal damage. So...not really, no. But. This is zany silver age stuff. And a giant cauliflower monster. It'd be remiss of you not to eat a chunk. It is, after all, good for you.
  18. If you note the DC for that it would help your GMs out. I found it myself, though. DC 20. http://orokos.com/roll/234959 19. the monster has a bruise. Post away!
  19. Forgot to mention. Thugs are under minion rules, but Miss N and her monster are not.
  20. http://orokos.com/roll/234916 Reflex save is 17. So close, but so far. Big Monster is bound, for now. Just entangled, though. soufflé, it's your turn.
  21. http://orokos.com/roll/234905 Queenie pulls off a 19. So. Chart time. The Nutritionist-Uninjured-Villain Queenie-Uninjured-1 HP Cauliflower Monster-Uninjured-Villain Stronghold-Uninjured-2 HP Trailblazer-Uninjured-1 HP Sugarfree Alliance members 1, 2, & 3 Nutritionist is doing the boss thing. Minions fight first. So, she retreats out of range of, well, anything really. Queenie is on the way, but not arrived juuust yet. Monster is first turn. http://orokos.com/roll/234910 12. Swing and a miss. horn, you are up!
  22. http://orokos.com/roll/234901 Nutritionist has 24. http://orokos.com/roll/234902 Sugarfree Alliance thugs get 2. Seriously. http://orokos.com/roll/234903 Cauliflower Monster gets 15.
  23. Queenie was stuck. Now what? I caught it. But I can’t just toss it somewhere. Hmm. She thought. The weight grew more oppressive. She thought some more. The weight pushed the limits of tolerance. Then, an idea struck. The colander shifted into an oversized gravy boat with a lid. Slowly and cautiously, she poured out the debris on the road leading to the residential area. Don’tblowawaydon’tblowawaydon’tblowaway. For the moment it appeared nothing would, in fact, blow away. However, the job was nowhere near done. Now, let’s see if anyone was in that building, eh? Shouting’s out. I can barely hear myself think. So, I’ll just have to look. This is a job for…darn. None of my tools will work. So then, simplest way. One more gravy boat, a bit smaller this time and with no lid. A silver tendril reached out and started grabbing smaller debris pieces and tossing them into the gravy boat. Who knows? Maybe there is someone under here. Even though I hope not.
  24. “You mean you allowed desperation to drive you. Sufficient testing and safety procedures would have prevented this…horror, as you call it. You know this.†Terrifica took a second to let that sink in. “However, I am not unsympathetic. I cannot honestly say that I would not do something similar, in your position. Death is…frightening, to say the least, but the worst thought is leaving one’s work unfinished.†The old man was pitiable in his dotage, and Terrifica did not possess a cold, icy heart. Despite what some might think. She walked up to him and gently took his hand. “Tell me how you made your monster, how I might find it, and how I might stop it. Do this, and I promise you, I will stop it. Do not be concerned I won’t understand. Such a thing is essentially impossible.†She smiled slightly. I am the most intelligent person in the world, after all.
  25. I like it and I would participate. Also, refined first idea. Is now ready for use, if everyone is ready?
