  1. I'm gonna do it. Samaritan's gonna punt this fool jag in the jawline. 22 for the attack roll. DC 22 to resist.
  2. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Then post away. OOC is here: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> I will add tags after you post.
  3. Misspoke. Technically Queenie has Impervious 8. Not that it makes any difference.
  4. With Starshot going up the tree, Vonnie took the opportunity to speak to Nevermore alone. “Look, man. I’m guessing the weird get up isn’t your usual. I’m missing my grapples. Starshot’s down his rifle and helmet. Two plus two equals you had some kind of fancy costume you fight in. You aren’t built like a tank, so I guess it might have had something to help you hit a little harder. What I’m trying to say is… I’m pretty sure I’m stronger than you are.†Says the guy who’s about his size and lacks all those vicious scars. Riiight, he’s so gonna believe me. “I’m willing to bet I’ve got Starshot beat, too. So, when that thing pounces, let me handle it. Uh…okay? I don’t want either of you to get hurt, you know?†Ah, look at his face. He's thinking I'm all talk. "I can...kind of see it out there, too. I'll know the instant it moves. And...uh..." Vonnie had precisely nothing else to say, so he lamely shut up.
  5. Queenie activated the Ring of Aura, causing a nearly skin tight transparent silver forcefield to form around her. She flew into the air. Like the saying goes, first things first. A silver field much like the one around her formed around a mother and daughter cringing in fear of three of the vegetable clad thugs. With one thought, the same silver energy slapped one aside like so much tissue paper. “That’s enough of that, Casanova. She’s not your type.†The other two charged…and broke their cucumber clubs on Queenie’s forcefield. She smiled. The expressions on their faces were priceless. “Now, now, boys. That’s not how you serve cucumber. Here, let me show you how it’s done.†The two went flying, crashing hard and flipping tables to the ground. “Bon appétit, sunshine!†A few more stepped up, and her smile widened into a grin. Sometimes being a hero was fun.
  6. Well. I had a thought about weaving the two narratives together. It was...a lot like yours, actually. The question would be...do you trust me?
  7. Yes, I should...learn to read. I can do a separate thread, though.
  8. Exactly what it says on the tin
  9. October 8, 2014. 10:30 AM. Bayview Mall. It was one of the pettiest crime sprees Freedom City had ever seen. Men in armor that looked like it was made from turnips and weapons that looked like they were made from various other vegetables had been raiding candy shops, ice cream parlors, convenience stores, and even small restaurants. At every stop, sugar and fatty food were ruined and destroyed, and fruits and vegetables left in their place. Those who objected were clubbed with mysteriously hard cucumbers and white radishes, left to suffer in the wake of an onion fume bomb, or hit with potatoes that somehow could generate enough electricity to shock people unconscious. The police just didn’t know what to do about them. They appeared quickly and disappeared just as fast. Somebody really, really hated junk food. It was when they started hitting supermarkets and the big restaurants that a hero decided to step in. Queenie didn’t want them harming her precious Southern Queen, so she went out looking for trouble. Fortunately, she didn’t have to for too long. This time they wanted to “cleanse†Bayview Mall’s food court. Queenie smiled. Crazy and stupid. There was no way the Claremont student body would let this go unavenged. Yet, here they were, throwing bombs and ruining food. People running, people screaming, the whole bit. Riiight. Like Maybelle was just gonna stand there and let them do it.
  10. Apologies, Rav. Forgot to mention it. That was a Teleport effect that took Esther away.
  11. Well, according to the Core book, defeating average computer security is a DC 25 check. Light's costume is a device, not equipment, so I feel comfortable applying that here. Which is a long winded way of saying you get nothing because you can't break the encryption on the phone.
  12. Hate to disappoint, but that's a 22 therefore a successful save.
  13. According to this 12 going first! Also, you all have approximately twenty rounds to apply the beatdown before these two split. Olive ain't kidding about those two minutes. And since this is all happening at once, let me post an initiative order for once and all. Ferretti's House Delano Light Red Rat Revenant Outside Esther's Apartment Blue Jay Olive Cartridge Jay and the Rat are up!
  14. Red Rat & Revenant Delano Light swore under his breath. Something had just crashed into the top of the house. In this town, that could only mean one thing. Heroes. Wonderful. He had gotten this nice fancy black body armor (complete with mask and cowl, making him look a little like a real hero), gone through all that combat training, and the (goshdarn) lawyer had to screw it up. He gave Ferretti a kick. “This is your fault, idiot.†He then turned, bolted through the living room, and somersaulted through the bay window at the front of the house. Landing in a roll outside, he keyed the cellphone in his cowl to life and made a call. “Olive? We’ve got a problem.†A break as the person on the other end spoke. “Playtime? Olive- Fine. Two minutes.†He stood up Blue Jay Jay’s fingers touched skin, which then jerked violently away. “Don’t touch me!†The brief touch was not warm. In fact, Esther’s skin was cold and clammy, without an iota of the warmth it should have had. The utter absence of light took that very moment to start to subside. Esther Henson was a Southeast Asian woman of below average height. She appeared physically fit. She had sprawled backward jerking away from Jay. “Everyone freaks out when they touch me. Say such mean things. Chill of the grave. Ice queen Esther.†She pulled up her lower lip, exposing an especially long and sharp pair of canines. “Vampire. Monster. Evil dead thing. I’m not dead. I’m not.†She sobbed slightly. “I’m not.†A heavy sigh drew attention to the street, where the redheaded woman stood. “Esther, shut up already. I told you. It’s a problem with an easy solution, so there’s no need to blubber about it.†She adjusted a dial on her blaster device. “At any rate, need you to hold up your end of the deal, not go all woe is me on a frickin’ superhero. Yes, Miss Jay, I know one when I see one, unlike certain half dressed idiots I could name.†Esther jerked her head around. “Olive! You’re not gonna-“ Olive aimed and fired. Esther disappeared in a green flash of light. “Only way to travel, chica. Well, only free way.†She adjusted the dial again. “Now, what to do with you, hero?†She checked a nonexistent watch. “I suppose I’ve got some time. Let’s play.†Her waist rang. “Hold on a second.†She pull out a disposable flip phone and keyed it on. “Light? Give me two minutes. It’s play time.†The person on the other end spoke, but Olive cut him off. “Let me have my fun, already.†A few moments later she was slipping the phone back into her belt. “Now where were we?†She smiled.
  15. Terrifica had only strode a few feet away. She smiled at Caradoc. “I look forward to it, Caradoc. I’m finding that it’s always interesting working with you.†She resisted the urge to take a shot at Sekhmet. That is not a constructive comment and you WILL keep it to yourself. “Look me up if you’re ever in town again. I’ll show you around the local underworld lairs.†That…could be misconstrued. “The rest of you are just as welcome to stop by, of course.†She took a few steps away from the group, then turned. “Set, if you really are that Set…I would very much appreciate getting to speak frankly with you.†Mostly about how one restrains the inevitable immense impatience with this world of ignorant idiots. I swear, if I have to deal with one more so called hero with more muscles than brains or heart I don’t know what I’ll do. She collapsed her staff and returned it to her belt. “Farewell for now.†She walked to the street and a motorcycle. I don’t know how you did it, but thank you, Stan She got on, started it up, and rode away.
  16. Change ahoy! With that big distraction, I'm giving our bad guy a -2 on that Notice check, meaning the Rat succeeds on her sneaking. Thank your partner as you like.
  17. Tactics bonus is +2, which would give you a 21. Meaning our bad guy has Noticed you, and with his higher Init roll, gets to go first. I should get to that, shouldn't I?
  18. And our villain counters with a 22 of his very own. Small question, though. The Rat's sheet says her Stealth bonus is 10. Did you add Tactics in already?
  19. He's fast, but Vonnie's faster. 18.
  20. Samaritan is a sophomore, and will be around for the foreseeable future.
  21. Interested? That'd be me. I'm very interested. I'd say Samaritan is first up, but Terrifica could fill in if the PL leans more towards 10 than 7.
  22. I'm fine with using Tactics to set up a surprise attack, but I'd say you'd have to get into the area first, and that requires Stealth. If you want to use that roll to aid your Stealth check using the Master Plan table (+1 for 10-14, +2 for 15-25, & +3 for 25 or higher), that's fine by me. Tiff can jump in whenever she likes with her own Init roll. Meanwhile...1d20+9=24 for our bad guy. Feretti doesn't get one, as he's done with combat for the week.
  23. Hmm. Rav, edited my last IC post to add needed information.
  24. You know what, Rav? Screw the Slow Fade. If you should choose to go out a slower way than feeling your way to the window and jumping out blind, by the time you get out there the effect will have faded outside. Alternatively, you could investigate inside and learn some more about Esther Henson. And as a general rule, if you want to make skill checks during narrative time, I don't mind a bit. Could even be helpful. you never know. I refer mostly to Gather Information, Knowledge, Notice, and Sense Motive. But, if you wanna do something else, it's fine by me. Now. About that Notice check. Red Rat's Eyes Only! If you're gonna go up there, I'll need an initiative roll.
