  1. "I am not planning on going public with my identity and powers, you do not need to worry." The Dreamer gives them a polite smile. "I do think I might try to become a hero though." The Dreamer gives a brief smile at Vicente's reassurance about figuring out life in Emerald City. She wasn't as certain in some ways, since she would always have to maintain control of her dreams. Without any other hyperlucid dreamers it seemed like stopping damage she might do would be significantly more difficult. If she dreamt up a fire, there was no one who could simply dream it away in response. Although there seemed to be heroes who could potentially respond well enough. "I hope so, it has been a large change from what I am used to. She followed them down the path, watching dreams of birds, faeries and small creatures frolic gaily amongst the branches. The grinning cat floated behind her during the walk. The Dreamer looked around the empty clearing that she had been led to. She didn't significantly respond when the illusion was revealed, although someone closely watching her posture would have seen her grip on her wheelchair tighten slightly. Her dreams were less subtle, several fae and birds rushing to interpose themselves between the light and their Dreamer, while the gnomes, gremlins and goblins began to tug on the chair trying to move her out of the clearing and away from the light. Clearly the dreams did not fully trust the pair. Inside the Carnifex ex Imaginatio stirred. After the light show, The Dreamer gave a polite applause, not appearing outwardly perturbed. "That was a most impressive display. Certainly it must be helpful to avoid detection." She looks out at the individuals in the clearing. "Was the cover only lifted for us, or was it lifted in general?" She nodded along at the explanation as Vicente returned. She was glad this was not the entire clan, given that would make their clan a mere four people strong. She smiled politely, "Of course, having a place to stay is always useful if one needs to do business away from home." Or if they need a staging area for an invasion. A hidden army at the doorstep of Emerald City. The Dreamer had never led troops but she had heard her grandfather speaking with many officers about the defence against the invaders, and later the Terminus. Right now a small chair appeared on her left forearm with a nobleman in a suitupon it talking about what the leaders ought to be doing with this staging area. The Dreamer was not yet certain of their true intentions so would not mention such things, but was quietly memorising everything she could, and had one of the pixies pull the arm chair general away If they were not planning offences it would be impolite to imply that she believed that they would, and if they were, they might take issue with her realising that she had figured them out. "It is quite pleasant, it seems relaxed. When Daria lays out a course of action The Dreamer nods. "Lead the way." The cat looks around, grinning still before vanishing.
  2. Muirne watched nervously as the two robots bickered then stood and glared. Was she supposed to intercede, would that be rude, or overstepping giving that Eira at least wasn't happy with her? Was the mission more important than politeness in this case? She was in the middle of puzzling through what she should do when their glaring was interrupted by Mette. She sent her a grateful smile while the two girls were glaring at each other still. After the dismissal she wondered what she should do. Kay obviously expected someone to sneak off and was being rather dismissive of the idea, but without her powers she wasn't nearly as stealthy. She had seen plenty of films where the characters lost their powers and regained them through effort or in a moment of crisis, but she doubted that would work all things considered. She looked over at Mette, who had broken up the argument, and realised they hadn't actually talked. Muirne walked up to her. "I don't think we actually got a chance to introduce ourselves, sorry. I'm Muirne. I heard you mention being the Little Mermaid, I saw that there was a story and a movie with that title, are they about you or is it a coincidence?" She smiled nervously as she brought it up. You mentioned not being the stealthy type. My stealthy options are a bit limited without my powers, so I figure that we can follow along with the plan that was laid out for the visit to keep up appearances, or we can try to create a distraction for someone who can actually do the sneaking. Your thoughts? She smiled slightly at the minor pun of psychically asking someone their opinion like that.
  3. Alright, here's hoping the dice don't betray me, fingers crossed. Notice check, 1d20+5= 16, just made it!
  4. Shooting Star is going to fly after and grapple one. Using all out attack for a +4 bonus, her attack bonus is now +7 and her defence bonus is +0. Taking a ten to hit makes her result is 17. Running on the assumption that she hits, her grapple check is 1d20+21= 38
  5. The Dreamer blinked a few times at Ultra Girl's comment and her immediate backtracking and apology. "I would not really say reflex. It was still my choice to bring out The Carnifex, which was obviously a mistake. Thank you for understanding though, I haven't really talked to many people about it." She glared at the Ultio Suits as Ultra Girl confirmed their fixation on points over people. It was the duty of those with power to help others, and only doing it for a reward cheapened the work of the heroes who didn't. She nodded as Ultra Girl said she'd talk to them, whispering back, "The serpent can actually fly if it comes to it." As Ultra Girl talked The Carnifex grinned evilly when she said it looked scary, flicking some of it's obsidian-like mane over it's shoulder. "The hero is right, I've been on my best behaviour. The only people I've touched since being called were the thief and The Dreamer. Surely you don't want to pick a fight with poor little me." It chuckled darkly as it finished. The Dreamer looked around the assembled group at Ultio Blue's question. "I came up here to keep from frightening anyone. Currently I would prefer to keep them around to be certain of my safety, but if it would avoid a fight I would be willing to." She looked to Ultra Girl, and the snake leaned her closer, quietly saying. "If I do make the serpent go, could you please let me down from the build-" She cut off as the red and white woman started shouting and flew closer. As she began to harangue her she tried to answer some of the questions. "I am not-" "I am a firm believer in trust-" And then she made the comment about not being real heroes. For a moment The Dreamer was still, then the corner of her mouth started twitching. "Wannabes, huh?" A deep rumbling growl emanated from the feathered serpent, and the menagerie of dream creatures matched it. "Tell me something, did you spend your childhood using your powers to help support your dimension defend itself from invaders?" The snake brought The Dreamer closer to the woman, while a rotund dream woman in royal finery started shouting "OFF WITH HER HEAD!! OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" The Dreamer continued, not paying mind to the agitated dreams below. "My dimension was invaded by Omega about two years ago, and still I helped where I could, dreaming up supplies, weapons, defences. Anything to slow down the invasion. And yet it is you who is a real hero. Not me, not Ultra Girl who turned up and tried to sort out the situation. You, who stood back and watched until someone else came up. What if The Carnifex had attacked, would you have just stood by and waited, watching Ultra Girl fight a thirteen foot tall monster?" The serpent pulled back, stretching it's wings in preperation for flight. The Carnifex growled, the sound rumbling over the cacophany of the dreams, only the cries of "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" being audible over the volcanic rumble. "If you want to make my day, please get in her way." The Dreamer scowled, but didn't castigate the dream demon for her statement.
  6. Muirne noted down the first part of Àjàṣorò's explanation, but left out the part about sneaking from her notes, trying to commit that part to memory alongside the parts that Janus had mentioned for how to sneak out. It seemed the students here had learned to be quite proficient at avoiding detection, although from what Àjàṣorò had said she could assume part of it was also teachers allowing the students to get away with sneaking out. She looked around quickly to ascertain that no one was listening in before whispering in reply, "Does everyone here do hero uh..." She struggled to come up with an accurate verb, settling on lamely whispering "Work?" She nodded, looking up at the taller girl, while she scrawled the little detail about roommates, before sheepishly asking "Uh, my power sometimes activates without me wanting it to. Is that going to be accounted for when selecting a roommate?"
  7. Muirne smiled politely at Klara's comment about being in the forces, not really having experience with anything like that. It was tough to imagine any of the people here terrified though, it just seemed so far out from the confidence and power they had, although she imagined living in a world where there were other people with powers tempered that confidence and made them earn it through experience she didn't have. She grinned and chuckled at Klara's comment about healthy eating and exercise. "I'll have to take you up on that at some point, for now I've been enjoying trying the things I never got to when I was a child, which is definitely why I've been gaining weight. I'll have to try my hand at making a pie, maybe I'll have to invite you around for your opinion Breogo Joe." She gave him a brilliant smile. After a few moments she returned to business again, looking back to Erick. "What's the plan?"
  8. The Dreamer nodded when Vicente offered to take her to see what he was talking about. "I can come along." She placed the cryptozoology book on her lap and wheeled after them, and smiled wryly as Daria talked. "I can't even hide my dreams now, but I suppose that's a good thing." She had been relieved at the accommodations in the van. A small ballerina danced on the dashboard while a small train flew overhead. She nodded understandingly as Vicente explained the Clan's need for allies even if she didn't join. She followed the train, contemplating what she should ask about this 'Forest Clan' while some branches began to form in the top of the van. She refocused on the front seats when Vicente addressed her again. "I don't really feel at home, but that's been getting better. I have some places I go to donate things I dream up now, like that shelter a few blocks down from me. It's nice being able to help again like I did back in my dimension. It's nice having a return to normalcy like that. I can't think of anything to make it easier right off the top of my head though. I know I've changed since I was with my family. I don't really know which way to go from here, but I don't know where I'm going so asking for directions isn't helpful." The Dreamer looks down at her hands as she says this, missing the grinning cat that floats past, watching the pair.
  9. The Dreamer thought for a moment about how to answer Ultra Girl's question. She wasn't here as a civilian, so she didn't have to worry about her civilian identity. She decided honesty would be the best policy. "I'm from another reality. We were in a war with another dimension, and it was... bad. I heard screaming and I'm so used to that being bombs or Omegadrones that I just reacted." She watched as some ranks of futuristic looking tin soldiers marched past the snake. "My power is that things I dream of becomes real." To demonstrate she focused for a moment, creating a masquerade mask over her face, blue like her dress. The Carnifex stepped up to stand next to the serpent, purring in response to the follow up question "My poor dreamer is fixated on the idea of discerning her dreams from reality, why she bothers I don't really know. After all, reality is overrated, I'm not real the way you two are, neither is the feathered serpent, but does it matter right now?" The Dreamer looked thoughtful as Ultra Girl asked about unsummoning the Carnifex, while the monster puffed up in offense. "I'm not some regular dream to be discarded. I am the most powerful of her creatures and can hardly leave The Dreamer to face some loose cannon wannabe heroes on her own." It retorted pridefully, before waving it's clawed hand dismissively, pacing off to stand closer to the end of the snake. The Dreamer glared at The Carnifex as it talked and stormed off. "I think you might-" She was cut off as the man in the Ultio Suit started talking. "Well as you may have noticed we were talking." The snake reared up, hissing fiercely as more dream creatures started to appear. The Dreamer started to look angry as the man talked. "Since when was being a hero about points?" She spat the word like a curse. "If someone needs help do you just stand by until you'll get your bonus?" The small tin soldiers jeered as she said this, but The Carnifex chuckled, "So righteous anger is good and all, but on that note, how many points am I and what will that get you? If The Dreamer stops me can she claim the points?" The Dreamer gave the Carnifex a stern look, before addressing the mercenaries floating around her. "The creatures you are here to fight aren't real. They are a product of my power. They aren't dangerous to people, and the only reason the Carnifex was brought out was due to a misjudgement on my part. If possible I would prefer to avoid a fight." She looks to Ultra Girl, continuing quieter than before, "Do you think if you took me into custody that they would leave, or would it be a fight?"
  10. Shooting Star is readying to interpose for anyone who gets shot at.
  11. Alice watched 'Daedalus' out of the corner of her eyes, suppressing a shudder and hoping that the stars 'being right' didn't mean the same thing for them and that it was just a tribal battle cry or something. She wouldn't press right now since this needed to be a team, but she really hoped that this wasn't going to bite her in the ass. She floated forwards, taking a vambrace, and starting to put it on her arm. "I am a flying brick, to put it bluntly. I am hyperdense, can fly and can survive in space. If anyone here isn't particularly tough let me know so I can be ready to get between anything that can hurt you badly. I can of course also fly people around if you need it and can't fly yourselves. Secret IDs don't really matter I suppose, given we're from other realities, and it definitely won't matter if we lose." She finished putting the vambrace on, and lifted her cowl off. Standing straight and looking straight at the trio with her. "I'm Alice Armstrong, one of the last superheroes in Freedom City. It's an honour to be here with you. Lets go kick ass and save everything." She smiles broadly, standing straight.
  12. A line of gremlins danced across the table as the visitor sat, putting the files down, and asked her how she was finding Emerald City. "It's fine. Different than London was, but that's hardly surprising. This world's London is different than mine. The variety of heroes is interesting." She followed a group of bats with her eyes. "It's strange looking at the world and knowing that all of these are my dreams, no one else's." She frowned thoughtfully at the mention of the incident with the purse snatcher, and the asking if everything turned out alright. Shouldn't they know this?. "As far as I know everything turned out fine there. It was a mistake to use the Carnifex, I assumed there was more danger than there was. I'm not used to petty crime. Normally I only heard screams during bombings, or later the Terminus invasion." Her hands shook as she took a sip of the tea she'd dreamed up as she mentioned the events. The Dreamer refocused quickly onto what Vicente was talking about to draw her mind away from the invasion when she saw a twelve inch Omegadrone appear and start fighting a three foot dragon. She took and flipped open the book that Vicente slid to her, quickly flipping through the pages, shooing a tiny Sasquatch that appeared on the table and tried pushing the book. Some of the pictures she saw looked like things that she had dreamed up before, others were nothing like anything she'd seen in her own dreams, and some were entirely outside any dreams she had seen. She raised an eyebrow as Vicente began explaining about the weirdness of Emerald City, hidden things no one else sees and used her as an example. She flicks her eyes to Daria when she talks and back to Vicente as he continued unfazed. A community of beings like herself, individuals from space other dimensions that made their home here? She narrowed her eyes as he continued, talking about humanity hunting them. Did he not consider her human? Was there some added part to the definition in this reality that she was unaware of? Regardless, one thing was certain, she didn't think these two were actually from the government. This was further confirmed as Vicente shapeshifted into something orange and claimed to be an alien from another reality. She doubted this was a dream, she hadn't really ever imagined aliens, and for the most part her dreams didn't encourage her to do things like join secret societies. "You certainly have my attention and interest. I would like some more details before I agreed though, you haven't even given me the name of your group."
  13. The Dreamer watched as the star-spangled girl flew up to her, trying to ascertain as to whether she was real or a dream. Was this the real Ultra Girl who she'd heard about, or was it a dream? She looked like how most people imagined american superheroes look. She watched with interest as the hero flew up the tall building, and struck pretty much the quintessential hero pose, head up, fists on hips and cape billowing in the wind. The Dreamer didn't have long to make any judgements before the girl spoke. She looked over as the Carnifex shifted, giving the dream demon a hard look and mentally commanding it to not say anything, for all the good that would do. "Today's just getting curiouser and curiouser. The monster you heard of is probably that one" She points at the Carnifex, which grinned like a cat. "It was a mistake I made, I heard screaming and called it out, only to find out the source was a purse snatcher." "Must you call me 'it'? 'Tis such a dehumanizing term." The Carnifex lamented with exaggerated faux-offense. The Dreamer grimaced in reply. The winged serpent shifts, lifting The Dreamer to match Ultra Girl's height. "I hope that, if you're real, we can sort this out without any problems." The Carnifex snickered, padding up to the edge of the roof. "It helps that you aren't some wannabe in a suit, eh? Whether you're a dream like me or the real Ultra Girl you have some real power in there, like me. What would some regular little human know about that, eh?"
  14. Running off of the reputation chart for Ultra Girl, The Dreamer recognises her (1d20+4 = 21)
  15. At the top of a tall building, on a big winged snake. Currently the Wonderland Array is on Dreamscape (Create Object).
  16. The Dreamer had been minding her own business, just rolling down the street when it had happened. She'd heard someone crying out for help, and called out the Carnifex, thinking that it was worse than it was. Instead she released a monster to stop a purse snatcher. They'd fled the scene, and The Dreamer had quickly begun dreaming up her costume and a mount. Now she sat on the back of a giant winged snake at the top of the tallest building in the area and tried to ignore the Carnifex suggesting ways to eliminate all the witnesses while she tried to think of how she was going to talk to the heroes. "We could just knock on all their doors and kill them there, like that movie you watched with the killer robot" The dream monster posited. "That is definitely not happening. I'm not going to hurt, maim or kill anyone." She glared at the Carnifex while it grinned further. "Why of course!" It ran a clawed hand through the shards of it's hair, wrapping the tail it had appeared with this time around The Dreamer's waist, "And you won't have to, I am here for all your hurting, maiming and killing!" The Dreamer could feel a headache coming as the stone monstrosity continued it's plans for villainy, when she spotted something. There were several people in silver surrounding her position, and she's seen a flash of red, white and blue somewhere, although it was gone now. "The heroes are here, stop talking. I want this to not involve fighting, which you prattling on about murder will not help." The Carnifex scoffed and waved dismissively, "I think you're being a bit generous calling them 'heroes', darling. The cybermen down there are wannabes remember. Besides, if we take 'em out we can then talk with the real heroes from a position of strength. Just think! You sitting in a throne made out of ultio suit helmets, me splattered all over with blood, turn and say 'Oh hey Justice, fancy seeing you here'. All of a sudden you can push for whatever terms you like!" The smile it gave could have curdled milk as it purred out it's plan. "I am not here to be a supervillain. If anything I am here to be a hero. If I can avoid fighting these people I am going to. Even if they are as you say 'wannabes'." She waved down at the heroes at the bottom of the building, hoping they could see and would recognise it as her not wanting a fight.
  17. Muirne frowned after Eira, stopping as she stormed off. She did hear the explanation she gave to Mette, but it barely registered as she puzzled over how to approach the situation. It would be impolite to press her on the subject since she'd directly denied being upset, despite it being a blatant lie. However she didn't want to leave the subject alone since currently Eira was obviously upset, and Muirne couldn't help but want to cheer her up. She couldn't do anything directly, but maybe she could find the opportunity to talk about something she likes at some point during the trip. For now she would meet Kay, and hopefully not offend anyone else. She almost tripped as she went from Rurland to some beach, her cloak and tunic now leaving her overdressed as the tall, tanned girl circulated amongst the Vanguard offering hugs and handshakes. She wasn't prepared as Kay quickly recognized her and greeted her specifically. "Uh, y-yes I'm Muirne, it's nice to meet you, Kay." She smiled slightly as she held out her hand, craning her neck upwards to meet Kay's eyes.
  18. I don't know if she's usually like that, I've only met her once... She frowned worriedly as Eira stormed out and the others offered their interpretations of her attitude. Were they right and it was being in Rutland that upset her, or had it been her question? She decided to apologise regardless. With a quick wave she exited the vehicle, quickly catching up to Eira. "Hey, I'm sorry if I upset you. I thought you were here because you were good with computers, like Ben." She looked up at Eira earnestly as she said this, hoping she wasn't somehow digging herself deeper.
  19. Alice stared through the window as she fought a Khanate destroyer, but turned away before it could spoil anything. She peered into the window for 'Daedalus' after her outburst to see that she was definitely no alien, especially with this 'Seamount tribe' mating with dolphins. "I said it before and I meant it. I'm in." She looked around at the others, before turning back to Verðandi, "But Oz is right to ask. What else can you tell us about this?"
  20. The Dreamer just got approved, as someone who helps and protects those less fortunate than her she'd definitely want to fight the Chamber, help against the Emerald invasion, and if things start going bad with the Ultio suits she'd definitely be up to fight them.
  21. Alice sat with her family during the sermon, something they appreciated. This was the first time she had attended since she found out her powers came from the artefact of a genuine Greek god, although the specific god still eluded her. Prior to that revelation she had been agnostic, although she still had attended church with her parents when her studies had allowed. Was this rude in some manner? She was empowered by a different faith than the one whose church she stood in. She wandered up closer to the front to see the stained glass window more clearly, missing the presence of the boy amongst the pews. She hadn't been the fanciest dressed in the crowd, but she'd made an effort, being in a pure white sundress with light blue floral filigree around the hem. She wore black flats, since she didn't need anything to accentuate her height. She'd missed coming to prayer with her parents. They had known she was agnostic and were glad she still chose to attend with them. She hadn't minded, it gave her a chance at peace to reflect on her life as Shooting Star which her hectic life didn't normally allow. Besides, community gatherings allowed her to keep her ear to the ground to be ready to help as Shooting Star. She sat in the front pew and pondered, looking back in a way she hadn't given herself time to do in the rush of the last few months. Aaron was working with villains, they were both powered by genuine divine power, and at the very least the Greek gods were real. Was the Christian one? What about the other religions? Hinduism, Norse mythology, Egyptian mythology? Are they all real, or is it just the Greek gods? She sighed, and began heading for the door to eat with her family. "I doubt I'll be getting answers today, just more questions."
  22. Thanks Fox, that's what I get for doing maths at 2 in the morning. The stacking one currently needs an indent that I'll get to when I'm on a computer rather than phone. Hope that's everything.
  23. Alice pinched the bridge of her nose as 'Oswald' humoured the alien. And tried her damnedest not to glare as it talked about Daedalus being it's favourite, although them being from different times made a certain degree of sense since she didn't recognize the armoured lady and the alien didn't recognize an 'enemy of the state'. She did openly stare as it continued, asking if they were going to fight taxes however, and was about to respond when the mist shifted. She clenched her jaw as it talked about the multiverse being in danger, and looked at 'Daedalus' side on. This was her enemy, but if all of existence is in danger... She had worked with people who had once been supervillains to defend humanity. Was this so different? How had it been put? Evil versus Oblivion? This was bigger than her war on her Earth. A threat of this scale, it didn't really matter if she had to work with Omega, it had to be stopped. She watches Oz out of the corner of her eye as he talks, feeling something similar. Unless reality ending threats can be punched in the face, she wasn't much help. She looked directly at the alien as it began to question why the group was the way it was, and felt her cheeks flush as it talked about her chest. She sighed. "I don't know why we were chosen. Maybe were somehow the best possible combination, maybe we were just the first couple to become available. I really hope it's the former. Hell, maybe we're all dead and Hades decided to put on a morality play, all 'not so different you and I'. But regardless. If there is even the slightest chance that all of existence is in danger, I can't ignore it. I'll work with you all. The enemy of my enemy is my friend after all."
  24. Carnifex ex Imaginatio Power Level: 7 (105/105PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: -3 Attack / +3 Damage, -3 Defense / +3 Toughness In Brief: The deepest fears, vices and evil of The Dreamer personified as a monster. Alternate Identity: None Birthplace: The Dreamer's Mind, Earth S-Omega-1 Residence: The Dreamer's Mind, Emerald City Affiliations: None Family: None Description: Age: ??? Gender: Appears feminine Ethnicity: Monster Height: 12'7" Weight: 1946lbs Eyes: Yellow Hair: Obsidian This beast stands over twelve feet tall, with a toothy maw and glowing yellow eyes. It has stone-like skin that cracks as it moves, and long bristling hair that looks like it is made of thousands of obsidian shards. It's eyes gleam with cruelty and malice as it surveys the world. Every time it manifests there is something different about it than the previous time, like cloven hooves, horns, a great tail, or fire glowing from the crackling skin. History: The Carnifex began developing first from the nightmares The Dreamer suppressed, and soon began to feed off all of the darkest parts of her psyche, developing into a creature of cruelty and hate as The Dreamer was learning compassion and love. It did not possess the cunning at that time to trick The Dreamer into letting it out, instead revealing it's nature and causing her to suppress it even as she dove further into her dreams to support the war effort. It struggled to escape the trap that was The Dreamer's mind, wanting to be free from it's tether to the Dreamer, but finding it's efforts to escape fruitless, and knowing that it would perish were The Dreamer to. It quite enjoys the new, dangerous world The Dreamer has found herself in, as the Carnifex finds itself called forth into the world with far greater frequency than ever before as The Dreamer is forced to rely on it's power to protect her, something which never happened in the Liddell estates, as the girl was never in danger as she was constantly protected. But this newfound freedom has caused it to crave more. Personality & Motivation: The Carnifex is like a dark reflection of The Dreamer, good humour replaced with cruel glee and compassion supplanted by hate. It cares not for the line between reality and dream, as to it the pair are one and the same. It craves freedom from it's mental shackles, but The Dreamer and Carnifex are too different to find common ground. It does protect The Dreamer fiercely out of a cocktail of motivations, including it's desire to live, the chance to hurt people, the brief morsel of freedom and a small amount of possessiveness towards it's jailer. For now the Carnifex plots new ways to get The Dreamer into enough trouble that she has to rely on it's power, and to someday break free of The Dreamer's grasp. Powers & Tactics: The Carnifex is large, tough and strong, with the ability to leap long distances and shrug off small arms fire. It has no discernable anatomy and is no more wounded by a head injury than a leg one. The Carnifex prefers to do it's own thing, but knows that for the most part The Dreamer only brings it out to fight, and it will listen to her direction on who to hurt, as it is smart enough to know that it is more likely to get summoned again if it follows such direction. It prefers orders that give it extended periods of activity or greater amounts of freedom, and may even accept orders it would baulk at and consider odious if that is the case. It will also accept orders to protect The Dreamer, as it will cease to exist if The Dreamer dies. Examples: Acceptable: "Take those mobsters out." Unacceptable: "I need you to head straight to this person and deliver this message." Acceptable: "I want you to hunt this person down, and tell us where they are." Unnacceptable: "Help this little girl" Acceptable: "You need to break through the defences in this building." The Carnifex can also be bribed although The Dreamer does not use this option much, and the Carnifex will always take a while attempting to haggle on the order, which can waste a good amount of time in situations where haste is necessary. 25. The Dreamer Power Level: 7 (118/125PP) Unspent Power Points: 7PP Trade-Offs: -4 Defense / +4 Toughness In Brief: Interdimensional Refugee who found their way to the Atom Academy in Freedom City. Theme: Just a Dream Vixy and Tony, Meet my Friends, Cami-Cat Alternate Identity: Adrianna Liddell (Secret) Birthplace: Earth S-Omega-1 Residence: Atomic Tower, Freedom City Base of Operations: Atomic Tower, Freedom City Occupation: Student/Member at Atom Academy Affiliations: Atom Academy Family: None known Description: Age: 19 (DoB: 13th November 2001) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5'2" Weight: 140lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blonde The Dreamer has long flowing golden hair that reaches to the small of her back, framing a pale face. She examines the world with large blue eyes, trying to discern her dreams from true reality. Were she able to stand she would be short with an hourglass figure, but lacking the toned muscle of most heroes, instead being soft. She tends to wear dresses that match to her curvy figure and are easy enough for her to put on without use of her legs. She sits on a wheelchair covered in whimsical designs that remind her of her home and the dreams of others that she would always see. Some designs that people from Earth Prime would recognise are a grinning cat, a tea party with a man, a hare and a mouse and a caterpillar puffing on a hookah. When she goes out as a hero, she dreams herself a variety of suits, but tends towards a dress with thin plates of metal to give the appearance of being armoured. She adds a split down the front to allow her to sit astride her dream steeds. History: The Dreamer hails from a world where just before the end of the 18th Century the dreams of man had come out to play, so the world was filled with the whimsical, the wondrous, the macabre and the terrifying. Over time people learned to lucid dream and hold in their dreams, but generally only held back the few nightmares they couldn't wipe away. The world changed with the first hyperlucid or true dreamer, Alice Liddell. Her dreams were physically present in the world, there were very few of them, but they changed the world. When they dreamed of flame, it really burned, and many people lost their lives as the first and second generations of hyperlucid dreamers came into their own. Eventually, the world settled once more, with the true dreamers at the top of the world order. This proceeded as the status quo centuries, but this came crashing down. The world came burning down as someone tried to enhance their own power, using some dream device that they thought would make them a god of dreams. It instead made them a calamity. They lost control of the nightmares they held within, causing disasters and monsters across the world. Eventually, a strike team was used to kill them, cutting their nightmares off at the source. There was another dimension that saw this disaster, Earth G-War-3 and used it to their advantage. They hoped to capture hyperlucid dreamers to use in their own wars. This dimensional colonisation was something all sides were using and was beginning to drag many other dimensions into their war. This dimension conquered the decimated countries before they managed to pull together enough to fight back. This was the world The Dreamer was born into, the latest child of the Liddell family, the richest and most powerful true dreamers who had helped maintain the dominance of the English even with the damage done to the world. Soon The Dreamer was taught to use her power to help the war effort. As she was wheelchair-bound instead they used her vast dream power to create weapons, vehicles and supplies. Despite the war front beginning to stabilise, doomsday cults were beginning to form in the civilian population. The Terminus was laying the groundwork. Already exhausted by the war effort and not prepared for the opening of a new front, the Terminus Invasion destroyed the opposition. London was besieged with no hope of relief within a week of the opening of the portals. As the city's fall became inevitable, The Dreamer's father used a captured dimensional transporter to send The Dreamer away, hoping that she could be safe, and she found herself lost in Z-Space. Quickly she made a container for herself, dreaming food for herself and propelling her way through the endless void. After a year and a half by the count of the clocks she dreamed up she found herself in Earth Prime's Emerald City. She enrolled as a dimensional refugee under her given name. After some time growing accustomed to this new world, The Dreamer was invited to The Atom Academy. She didn't have much keeping her in Emerald City, and so accepted the invitation. Personality & Motivation: The Dreamer may come across as strange when people first meet her, as she will often do and say curious things to discern if the individual is the product of her dreams, or actually real. It may take some time for her to determine if the person in question is real, but afterwards she will show that she is a person of good humour that cares for the people around her. She will often go out of her way to help people around her, providing the people she cares for with materials that she dreams into reality, like she once did in her home dimension. Powers & Tactics: The Dreamer uses her summons to fight for her, doing damage, trapping enemies and moving objects. She uses her Dream Steed to avoid being trapped while using her Wonderland Array to control the battlefield. If she has to she will bring forth the Carnifex ex Imaginatio, which will allow her to concentrate more on using her powers to control the battlefield, but this is a last resort. Powers Descriptors: The Dreamer is a hyperlucid or 'true' dreamer. While most of the people from her world's dreams were harmless, a dreamed dog couldn't dig up a flower garden, her dreams are not like that. They are fully real. She is surrounded by creatures spawned from her dreams, which protect her from harm and fight for her. She can warp the world around her, creating items from her dreams, changing the environment, moving objects, and even transforming non living matter into something else. She can fly upon the backs of her own dreams, create creatures to attack people, summon chains, ropes or have creatures like pythons to ensnare her enemies or summon creatures or engines to move objects. Working in tandem with her dream creatures she can move far larger objects than either power alone, as she focuses most of her dreams to shifting it. Her most dangerous summon is the one known as the Carnifex ex Imaginatio. It is made of her deepest fears and all of her vices and evils personified, a creature born of all the nightmares she holds back from appearing. The Carnifex rages to be freed from her, to release it's fury upon the world. It hates everything and wants to be free. It is aware, however that were it to kill The Dreamer that imprisons it within her that it would cease to be. So for now it will protect her, but that does not mean it's not willing to cause her troubles, especially as she may be forced to let the Carnifex out to save her. Complications: A Dream of Comfort: The Dreamer works to help people, donating clothes, food and other necessities wherever she can. She deeply cares and wants to help wherever she can, even if it puts herself in danger. The Dreamer's secret identity could be tracked down through her donations to charity, and will often put herself at risk to keep civilians out of harms way. Through the Looking Glass: The Dreamer struggles to tell what is real and what is a product of her dreams. As such she has to find ways to discern if people are real, and can come off as strange or rude in the process. The Dreamer's attempts to discern dream from reality can cause difficulties for her as she may offend people, or damage her credibility. Nightmare Breach: The Carnifex ex Imaginatio is always trying to force its way out or force The Dreamer to let it out. There are times that the Carnifex manages to force its way out (Switching to Summon in the Array) and it will often try to cause some trouble for The Dreamer to force her to bring it out again. Butcher of Dreams: The Carnifex ex Imaginatio is uncooperative and unfriendly, wanting to be free to cause misery and pain but constantly held back by The Dreamer, but under no compulsion to help her. The Carnifex ex Imaginatio will often refuse orders which it does not agree with, forcing The Dreamer to work without it, or come up with a deal that it would accept. Menagerie of Dreams: The Dreamer cannot hold back all of her dreams, and is followed by her dream creatures constantly, although she encourages them to hide when she is in public as a civilian. The Dreamer is constantly followed by her dream creatures, and people who recognise The Dreamer's powers can recognise her civilian identity.
