  1. Muirne was easy to miss among the much taller people around her. She was wrapped in a dark green cloak, below which was a white woollen tunic, drawn in at the middle by a belt, which reached her mid-thigh. She wore a pair of charcoal grey tights, and some nice leather walking boots. Her hair was pulled into a braid, and hidden by the cloak. She had her mother's pendant around her neck, since she hadn't wanted to leave both of her treasures from her family in her apartment, and had decided against bringing a knife to a diplomatic meeting. She sat in her seat, trying to quell the nervousness she felt as they flew to a nation controlled by what she had been told was one of the most dangerous supervillains in the world, who had proclaimed his intentions for peace. What was she supposed to think of this? She huddled in her seat and watched people, quietly humming a lullaby her mother had sung her when she was younger. She especially watched Eira, who had entered into a meditative trance or something for most of the flight. She didn't know what to think about the girl after her interaction with her at Claremont, especially her final parting comment in her mother tongue. She hoped that this trip might help her get a bit closer to her future schoolmate, but wasn't sure how to go about that.
  2. Muirne was entirely lost as Kam explained about how a combustion engine works, and even more so about the questions Heroditus levelled about the specifics. She was still trying to catch up with modern mathematics and science, let alone how a car engine works. "Uh, I'm sure you'll manage Heroditus." She managed a sheepish smile "But you both completely lost me, so you can't be doing too badly." She blushed a bit as Dee talked about having fun, but tried to laugh it off. At Kam's mention of going to the gardens and Heroditus' suggestion of meeting there, Muirne nodded, "I suppose it would be a good place to end the tour then, since it would be for everyone." She smiled at Heroditus as he settled into his pile of books, "I suppose we should let you get back to work, it was nice meeting you. Talk to you later!"
  3. Alice missed the Eighty Eights van as she made her way through the crowd, planning on reaching the girl who had just flown in. She knew quite a few of the people here as both Alice and Shooting Star, so she took her time talking with them, letting them know that she wasn't here to bust people for drinking their Uncle Michael's moonshine, just here to make sure noting violent happened. It was slow going making her way through the crowd like this, but she didn't want to scare anyone by flying at the other super, least of all that super. They had probably seen her approaching, her costume was rather visible being white and blue with the bronze chestplate, but that was the idea. After a few minutes of slow going she did reach the bottom of the building, turning down a soda, before slowly floating up. "Hey, you aren't here to start anything yeah? Folks here don't get lots of chances to celebrate, so can you let the minor things slide for tonight?"

  5. Muirne breathed a quiet sigh of relief that she hadn't inadvertently offended him. That's good to hear, thank you Síþwíf Dee. A small, wry smile came across her face at his admission of a lack of familiarity with technology. "I don't think you need to be ashamed around me when it comes to technology, I might be even less familiar than you." She nodded when he offered to talk after. "I think that would be nice. Where do you want to meet?" She tried to keep up as Dee talked about the car in the magazine. She was pretty sure she'd seen one like it at the Estate when she was learning English, but she had zero clue about cars. She smiled slightly at Heroditus' reaction to her suddenly stepping in. "Síþwíf Dee is my guardian, she's here to have a look around before I come here."
  6. Muirne suddenly had to crane her neck upwards as Heroditus stood, her eyes widening slightly as she realised just how massive he was, despite apparently only being a year her senior. "Uh, thank you, it's nice to be here." She smiled brightly as another person commented on Kam's competence. "Janus mentioned something about the Kam being 'the best foot forward' for the Academy. All this praise might go to his head if we aren't careful. I didn't know there were gardens here, so I think I'll have to say I haven't seen them." She saw his shift in expression at her words and a spike of panic hit, and her link to the Shattenwelt started to force itself open again as she watched him revert to a weak smile. She still had so much to learn and she clearly wasn't ready. She didn't know what she had said wrong. Her voice wavered slightly as she replied "I was not aware, I am sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I did not mean to pry." She wasn't sure how to respond as he began to talk about technology. She couldn't imagine, the most advanced thing she had done without assistance was find the way to where her village was on the laptop Dee had supplied her, and that had taken her nearly an hour. She realised after a half second delay that he had asked about her, and what she wanted to study. "Well uhm. The main thing I want to get better at is controlling my power, since I sometimes transform without wanting to. I don't really know what outside of that I want to study, I'm still trying to catch up with the curriculum." She shrugged lamely as she admitted it, while she tried to wrangle the link closed.
  7. This is currently just me spitballing a Neverworlder Idea to satisfy my altitis. No need to go over it with a fine toothed comb if you can't be bothered, although feedback is welcome. Louve Rouge ("Red Wolf") Power Level: 7 (105/105PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Werewolf-like Neverworlder in Earth Prime Catchphrase: Theme: Alternate Identity: Little Red Riding Hood (Secret), Scarlet Chaput (Secret, Earth identity) Birthplace: Neverworld Residence: Freedom City Occupation: Repair & Delivery Girl/Superhero Affiliations: None Family: Grandmother (Deceased) Description: Age: Unknown, Claims to be 21 (DoB: Unknown, Listed as June 19th 1998) Apparent Age: 21 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Alien, from Neverworld. Appears Caucasian. Height: 5ft (Wolf Form, 12'2" long, 7'6" at shoulder) Weight: 109lbs (Wolf Form: 1947.74101lbs) Eyes: Amber Hair: Mousy Blonde Those who know her Neverworld identity know that the Little part of Little Red Riding Hood remains accurate, as she has to look upwards to meet most people's eyes and weighs very little despite being reasonably muscular. She is petite and attractive, her face framed by wavy locks of hair, while amber eyes stare out out her large eyes. Her eyes are in fact more those of a wolf than those of a human, even reflecting light the way a canine's do. On her left arm is a large scar that looks like it would belong to a dog or wolf, if one was the size of a draft horse. As a civilian she is partial to tight but modest clothes, but always wears something red over the top, whether a jacket, hoodie or something else. As the Crimson Wolf she wears her riding hood from her life in Neverworld, along with a white blouse, black breeches and some leather riding boots. As a wolf she is a massive, red and blonde canid. History: Neverworld is a land of storied adventure, a world of great heroes, vile villains and mighty beasts. When Little Red Riding Hood was but a young girl she met one such creature, both beast and villain. She was walking through the woods to her sickly grandmother's house with food and medicine when a stranger came up to her upon the trail. A Wolf that spoke as a gentleman, asking Little Red as to her destination with a basket full of food. Red had been warned of The Wolf, a trickster and a monster who roamed the woods who eternally hungered, but she was young and naive, not aware of The Wolf's cunning. So she told the Wolf of her sickly Grandmother and how she was walking through the woods to see her and was bringing her supplies. She spoke at length with this charming Wolf as she passed along the trail, until he bid goodbye and wished her and her Grandmother well. Little Red Riding Hood, thinking that she had gained a friend in the Woods continued on her way while The Wolf took a shortcut, beating her to her Grandmother's house and killing the old woman, preparing her into a stew to soften her old meat while assuming her form to trick the young girl he had met. Little Red Riding Hood arrived at her Grandmother's house in good spirits, eagerly telling her 'Grandmother' about this kind stranger she had met in the forest, a Gentleman Wolf who she had befriended and how she hoped to see him on her way home. Quickly she stored away the goods from her basket, before inquiring about the stew The Wolf had prepared. The Wolf had been touched by the girl's enthusiasm about meeting him, her good-natured naivety had caught him off guard and his trickster nature won out against his hunger as he had some food to curb his appetite. So he served up his stew and sat with Little Red Riding Hood discussing her walk through the woods and her new 'friend'. However, his hunger could never be satisfied, especially not with the quantity of food he ate while keeping his role as a small elderly lady. Slowly his transformation began to slip, and Little Red Riding Hood began to take notice, remarking as her grandmother slowly became more bestial. Eventually the eternal hunger overpowered The Wolf's growing affections, and he pounced, but the child had grown wise to the trick that was occurring, as much as she had tried to deny it. She avoided being swallowed whole by the growing monster, instead her arm was caught in it's great jaws, leaving her permanently scarred and, although she did not know it at the time, cursed. She escaped, fleeing into the depths of the forest, her naivety shattered by The Wolf's cruelty, working out what had happened as she had been the one to tell The Wolf of her Grandmother's house. It was with sickening clarity that she realised what the stew she had been given was made of. She curled up in a hollow tree as The Wolf burst out of the small house, returning to his true enormous size having eaten everything he could from the house, and began to hunt Little Red Riding Hood. The Neverworlder began to feel the magic placed upon her by The Wolf's bite the next morning, her bite had stopped bleeding and she felt a hunger like she never had before, and began her first transformation as The Wolf found her. The Wolf while still hungry instinctively recognised Little Red Riding Hood as a pack member, even as the smaller wolf began to search to slake it's own hunger. After gorging themselves, Little Red Riding Hood transformed back into her human form, and was horrified by her actions. She fled the forest and The Wolf pursued, for years she fled and he would always track her down. One day she found herself in Langogne, France in Earth Prime, although she doesn't know how. Eventually, after acclimating to her new world she moved to Freedom City, where she set up her business, where she fixes broken items and delivers them to their owner after. She fears that The Wolf will still find her here, she hopes that for some time she can settle, before she has to flee The Wolf once more. Personality & Motivation: Little Red Riding Hood no longer trusts the way she did as a child, she is paranoid that The Wolf will find her and she will have to start fleeing once more. She is however, determined that if she can prevent others from suffering as she has she'll do whatever she can. She has grown cunning, skilled and self-reliant, but craves companionship that she denies herself due to her paranoia. Powers & Tactics: She has wolf-like traits due to her curse, as well as her innate powers as a Neverworlder, and then she relies on her cunning and the assistance of her magical cloak. She generally uses the element of surprise rather than overpowering people due to her small size. She can assume her lupine form, which is physically powerful but has does not have human intelligence and has Hunger akin to The Wolf. Power Descriptions: She has enhanced senses like those of a wolf, although not as acute. Her cloak has a small amount of magical power, and like all Neverworlders she is tougher than a regular human, with sharper hearing and a danger sense that she has honed well in her time fleeing The Wolf. In her Wolf form her cloak is absorbed into her and ceases effecting her, but her regular clothes which lack magic are not. Complications: The Wolf's Hunger Little Red Riding Hood is cursed with a hunger like that of The Wolf, even in her human form. She is constantly hungry to some degree, and if she goes too long without food she begins to lose control of herself and her powers. It's Coming, I know it is. Little Red Riding Hood is paranoid that The Wolf might find her at any time, and as such is distrustful of people who approach her unless she knows their reasons beforehand, and always endeavours to avoid places she could be trapped. Anyone could be The Wolf, so until she has proof otherwise she will plan as if everyone around her is. It won't happen, not while I'm here Little Red Riding Hood has a soft spot for children, refusing to allow them to suffer fates like hers, even if this would jeopardise her safety and freedom. 8. Muirne nodded at Kam's admonishment, noting that down along with all of his advice about the library. She was humming quietly again, but stopped when she heard a series of pops and clicks. She looked around, spotting the source, a boy surrounded by books. She watched him curiously, and then he spoke to Kam, who replied and introduced her to him. Muirne smiled at the Atlantean boy. "Hello Heroditus, it's nice to meet you." She wanted to ask about the sounds he'd been making, but decided on a less potentially offensive question, "If you don't mind me asking, what are you reading?"
  9. Notice roll of 14, total 20 Shooting Star is in the midst of the party.
  10. Alice watched the party, her suit pristine. She would have liked to have been among them as her civilian self, but she was still a hero and had a responsibility to be there as Shooting Star in case something went wrong. Still she was there and near enough to be a part of the party. She had always put herself among the people as a hero they could turn to. She was off to the side watching the party, leaning against a wall, a gentle smile on her lips. She waved as someone she knew passed, greeting them kindly.
  11. Muirne jumped as she heard Dee's voice in her head, but quickly recovered. I'll keep distance in mind Síþwíf Dee. She left the changing room, setting her shoulders confidently as she went to meet the older heroes. "I'll have to keep that in mind if I need to make food for you Breogo W- uh... Joe." She smiled at him in good humour as he flexed his muscles. "It's also good to know what to avoid eating too much of if I want to still fit my armour." She leaned on her spear as she waited for the others to get fully ready, glad she'd gotten into her gear in good time and wasn't going to hold the team up.
  12. If this is still open Shooting Star would be good.
  13. Shooting Star Power Level: 11 (174/179PP) built as PL10 Unspent Power Points: 5 Trade-Offs: -5 Attack / +5 Damage -5 Defense / +5 Toughness In Brief: Once crippled girl gains superpowers fixing her body, which she uses to help those around her. Alternate Identity: Alice Armstrong (Secret) Birthplace: Freedom City Residence: The Fens, Freedom City Occupation: Student Affiliations: None Family: Calvin Armstrong (Father), Linda Armstrong (Mother), Aaron Armstrong (Brother) Description: Age: DOB: 20 August 2004 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6'1" Weight: 28,665 lbs (191.1 sans Density) 109.3lbs if Muscle Atrophied Eyes: Blue Hair: Black Alice is tall and well developed, with a well toned muscles and a curvy hourglass figure. Her hair reaches to between her shoulder blades. It looks light and bouncy, but anyone who touches it finds that it is heavier than it appears, although still soft. She has full lips and a slightly concave button nose. She has high cheekbones and large expressive blue eyes that seem to invite people around her to be comfortable. As a civilian Alice wears dull, often very loose clothes, many are hand-me-downs from her brother that have been modified to fit her figure better, although they still hang loose off of her. As Shooting Star she wears a white body-glove with sky blue boots and gloves, her cape is similarly white, with a blue trim around the edges. She wears a bronze breastplate over her torso, although she doesn't need the armour. To conceal her identity she wears a cowl that lets her hair out but covers her eyes and nose. Unlike most heroes her suit is not made of any advanced materials, and mostly she relies on her own invulnerability and it's form fitting nature to resist damage as bullets and blades normally don't penetrate her skin, so the costume does not tear, but the suit and especially the cape does often end up dirtied or torn, and there are often holes, tears and dents in her breastplate. Some example images: https://imgur.com/a/CbF4Jhi *There are notes as to inaccuracy regarding clothing History Alice grew up in the Fens suffering from a condition that caused her muscles to atrophy, straining her parents already tight funds further. She spent the majority of her childhood tied to a wheelchair, only able to walk with help from others. Her parents both worked full time to make ends meet, while she and her older brother went to school. Even when very young she was very intelligent for her age, excelling in all her subjects while her brother, four years older than her excelled in the physical areas where she could not. Then on her twelfth birthday she woke up to a nest of splinters as her bed shattered beneath her. On reflex she tried to escape the collapsing bed, and found herself flying. Quickly she calmed down, lowering herself to the floor, and finding that her once atrophied muscles were now developed and toned. Her parents and brother burst into the room having heard the noise to find their daughter standing next to a bed that looked like a freight train had been dropped on it while staring at a body that was no longer scrawny and weak. Quickly she decided to become a superhero, as she had enormous strength, was incredibly tough and could fly incredibly fast, even capable of flying outside the atmosphere, and surviving up there, although she did ruin one of her favourite outfits discovering that she could survive reentry. Soon she became the hero Shooting Star, and fought to protect people. When she was fourteen, she fought a local super who was hiring themselves out to anyone willing to pay, including super villains, as hired muscle, only to find out that it was her brother. He didn't find out her identity, but she was shaken, knowing that he was out there doing mercenary work for villains. Her and her brother both developing powers for no reason intrigued her and she investigated, finding that beneath their house was a now inert divine artefact of the Greek Goddess Astraea that had been leaking power into the house since before her or her brother's conception, causing a mutation in both her and her brother. As a result they are both more susceptible to divine powers as now that they have been affected so strongly by the divine, it is easier to do again. Still she goes out almost every day outside school to fight crime, although so far she has avoided another confrontation with her brother. Personality & Motivation: Alice believes in doing good for goodness' sake. People need helping and she has the ability to do so, so she does so, but she would be lying if she said that that was the only reason. She enjoys the thrill of using her powers, pushing herself to the limits, the rush of dropping from orbit as flames curl around her. The adrenaline as she throws down with a villain, she laughs as villains try to pummel her to no avail, and grins when they can hurt her, savouring the chance to flex her muscles against a worthy opponent. Alice's love of both conflict and peace seem an oxymoron, but she enjoys a life without limits, she can fly to the Moon or Mars, or even further on a whim, and she takes full advantage of this fact. She has freedom and power and sees no point restricting herself as Shooting Star, living a life she would call 'sublime', with peaks and valleys taller and deeper than those of others, she allows herself to be more joyous and more melancholy, greater anger and humour, but she knows that to live like that all the time is not something she can do, so she treasures her time as Alice, living a poor but happy life, and occasionally taking breaks, floating in orbit and just looking down at the Earth or out at the stars, taking time to relax and emotionally recharge. Power & Tactics: Alice enjoys a straight fight, using her paragon power set to overpower her foes, relishing the challenge of a powerful foe. That is not to say Alice is simple however, while she enjoys her fights she also wants to protect people and stop the villains. If she finds that brute strength in a slug match won't win the day she will change up her tactics, fighting smarter if she has to, although her tendency to pick straight fights can get her in a lot of trouble. Her powers are her enormous density and strength, an incredibly high flight speed and the ability to fly and survive in space. She can fly at FTL speeds outside atmosphere, but has never tested to see her upper limits. Her mutation has left her vulnerable to divine powers, as the circumstances that caused her Power Descriptions: Her powers are simple, she is denser than osmium and incredibly tough and strong due to this fact, capable of propelling herself through both atmosphere and void and immune to the dangers involved. Complications: If people broke into my house and started searching for money, I'd start looking with them. Alice's parents struggle to make ends meet, both working full time to barely cover all of the bills and groceries. Alice may find herself in a position where her lack of funds disadvantages her. Oops, was that me? Alice's density and speed are both capable of causing large amounts of damage to public property or people. Alice's power can cause problems for her such as getting trapped due to her density or causing damage by flying too low and too fast. Where do you think you're going, Miss Armstrong? Alice goes to a public school, not Claremont, as such she cannot slip away to be a superhero at will. Alice's superhero duties get in the way of school, causing her trouble with the staff. Blood runs thicker. Alice's brother works as a super powered mercenary working for the highest bidder, often supervillains. She does not know why he went down this path or how far he has gone. She is conflicted about this situation because she does not want to fight her brother, whilst wanting to stop him from pursuing his current path and wanting to keep him out of jail while also wanting to preserve her own identity. Due to the complex feelings and difficult decisions regarding her brother, Alice is not sure how to handle a situation which involves her brother, and may worsen the situation by either hesitating too long or acting too quickly. Can I have some help please? If something causes Alice's density power to stop her muscles will revert to their previously atrophied state. She cannot move without assistance like that and cannot fight at all. If something interrupts Alice's Density power she cannot take any strenuous action. If she cannot fly she will not be able to move under her own power, needing either assistance or a wheelchair. Fickle and Temperamental Alice's powers are derived from an artefact of the Greek Gods, and when they find out about it they will likely act on the information in some manner. When the Greek Gods learn of the nature of Alice's power they may choose to act upon the information however they choose, claiming her as a champion, attempted murder or anything in between. This can easily complicate her life. When she was fourteen, she fought a local super who was hiring themselves out to anyone willing to pay, including super villains, as hired muscle, only to find out that it was her brother. He didn't find out her identity, but she was shaken, knowing that he was out there doing mercenary work for villains. Her and her brother both developing powers for no reason intrigued her and she investigated, finding that beneath their house was a now inert divine artefact that had been leaking power into the house since before her or her brother's conception, causing a mutation in both her and her brother. As a result they are both more susceptible to divine powers as now that they have been effected so strongly by the divine, it is easier to do again. Complications: Wealth: Struggling Alice's parents struggle to make ends meet, both working full time to barely cover all of the bills and groceries. Alice may find herself in a position where her lack of funds disadvantages her. Accident: Mass and Speed Alice's density and speed are both capable of causing large amounts of damage to public property or people. Alice's power can cause problems for her such as getting trapped due to her density or causing damage by flying too low and too fast. Responsibility: School Alice goes to a public school, not Claremont, as such she cannot slip away to be a superhero at will. Alice's superhero duties get in the way of school, causing her trouble with the staff. Enemy/Secret: Aaron Armstrong Alice's brother works as a super powered mercenary working for the highest bidder. Disability: Muscle Atrophy If something causes Alice's density power to stop her muscles will revert to their previously atrophied state. She cannot move without assistance like that and cannot fight at all. If something interrupts Alice's Density power she cannot take any strenuous action. If she cannot fly she will not be able to move under her own power, needing either assistance or a wheelchair. 15. Muirne nodded as Erick went over the rules, mentally switching in her head. She looked at them all, repeating their hero names in her head. Synapse, Foreshadow, Zhenschina-voin, Dreadnought. "I'll do my best." She pauses, "I'll go get changed into my armour. Just give me a few minutes." She picks up her bag and jogs into a changing room. She manages to get into her spandex quickly, but the armour takes more time. She's less skinny than she had been when she was thrown forward in time, which was alright because her armour had been loose back then, but it had mainly been given room for vertical growth, so the rings of mail had become rather tight over the gambeson below it. She does some stretches to get used to wearing it again, having forgotten how heavy the armour is. With that she removes the pole and spearhead, attaching the latter and securing it in place. The leaf head gleams coldly in the light while Muirne affixes her own domino mask and picks up her shield. Last time she'd wielded these she had been alone and had been lost in time for over a thousand years. She breathed in deeply, closing her eyes as she set her shoulders. Shadowborne set her stance, spear and shield in hand. This time would be different.
  16. Muirne schooled her expression quickly, not showing her disappointment at Benny's refusal. "Of course, I'm sorry it wasn't my place to ask." Internally she's berating herself, she wasn't even willing to tell people she was from a different time, and here she was asking other people to divulge further information! Still a corner of her mind couldn't help but dissect the information given- If he had been honest about being from Freedom he couldn't be older than 400, less than a third of her own age. He was like her, but not from her time. Some small part of her took comfort in the fact that others shared her experiences in being lost in time, while another part of her writhed in disappointment. "Aswebban stige1, Muirne." She muttered under her breath, trying to reassert control over her emotions. Within a few moments she has regained control over her breathing and expression, showing no sign of the storm inside her. 1Calm down
  17. Muirne gave Eira a weak smile as she gave what might pass for a pep talk, although it weakened further at the comment. She wasn't sure of her faith anymore, and had been meaning to talk to a priest about it. She did wave as Eira and Pan left, and called out after them "It was nice meeting you both, hopefully we can talk again sometime!" She turned to face Kam as he started talking again, before looking askance at him commenting that the story was well known in Great Britain, although her lips quirked up at the comment about Pan being more pleasant than the boy in the story. "I suppose if I read it I'll have to watch out for that. Is the story good at least?" She gave Benny a smile as Kam introduced him. "It's nice to m-" she cut off as he made his comment about him being new to the era, her blood roared in her ears and she froze, "N- new to this era? What, uh when are you from?" She struggled to keep her breathing steady, trying not to show the mixture of terror and excitement she felt. She wouldn't jump to conclusions the way she had with Pan, it wasn't likely they'd be from the same time, she couldn't get excited whenever someone might possibly be like her, it wasn't healthy. At the same time as she told herself this, she was also getting very excited that he might be from her time.
  18. Muirne looked sheepish, moreso as Dee confirmed knowing the story. When Ben began his outburst she blushed slightly. "Uh, I- I don't know the story sorry, but it's really nice that someone wrote a story about you." She gave Pan a smile of apology. She stopped talking as they entered the library, noting down what Kam was relaying as quickly as she could, including the note about going to Ben for computer and cultural help. She smiled at him, "If that's true then you'll probably be seeing a lot of me, I'm really terrible with phones and computers, and getting advice on culture will probably also come up a lot." Muirne paused to listen as Janus started talking about how it would be calmer on her first day and was quietly grateful for that, since while the people she was meeting were nice, it was also a lot to take in very quickly. "For now I'll have to take your word on that Janus." She said good-naturedly, and then Janus made the comment about enthusiastic consent to biting and her face turned bright red, her blush deepening at Ben's approval. "I uhm... I'll keep that in mind..." She was glad for the distraction when the large boy literally bounced over. She gave him a smile "I'm Muirne, Kam is giving me a tour of the campus to prepare for starting in autumn. It's nice to meet you." Muirne gave Eira a slightly strained smile as she talked about Beowulf, "I didn't know about that. I'll have to read it at some point." she kept an eye on the strange girl as she walked back to stand with Pan, listening as Ben explained where he was from. "I'm from Kent, although I'm pretty sure I have a bit of Irish from my father's side, hence the hair and the name." then the boy asked about her powers. "Oh well its... I have a connection to another dimension, Síþwíf Dee called it the 'Schattenwelt'. I can draw power from it, turning myself into a monster, or I can travel there physically. It also lets me see in the dark."

  20. Dryhten Dougal *Lord/King Dougal Power Level: Built as PL12 (250/250PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: +4 Defense / -4 Toughness, -2 Attack / +4 Save DC In Brief: Ancient sorcerer from the Dark Ages, seeks to conquer everything, and seeks revenge on the person who thwarted him last time. Alternate Identity: Conrí Doyle (Secret) Birthplace: Eireland Residence: Countryside Manor near Freedom City Base of Operations: Near Freedom City Occupation: Businessman Affiliations: King Bank, Wolf Technologies *The primary businesses owned and run by him Family: None Description: Age: 1434 (DoB: 18th February 586CE) Apparent Age: 41 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian, Half-Fomorian Height: 7'2" Weight: 323lbs Eyes: Heterochromatic (Magic), One green, one red Hair: Greying Black Dougal is tall and powerfully built, and despite a large scar, his inhuman right eye and his greying hair he is still very attractive. He is well muscled with broad shoulders and often wears clothes that allow him to display his physique. His face is almost something from a teen romance novel, but for a large scar running across his lower face, and his right eye, which while his left one is a deep emerald green his right one is all red except for a white slit pupil. As a civilian he wears varying degrees of formal clothing, enjoying silk, velvet, fur and other luxuries. To keep others from seeing his right eye, he wears an eye patch, claiming to be blind in it. When he goes out as a self-styled sorcerer supreme he wears a red and black tailcoat with a rose pinned on the front, a black silk shirt beneath it, along with black leather pants and black combat boots. A pouch is attached to his left arm, containing the ingredients for his spells. Floating behind his back is a glowing red ring of light. Example images: https://imgur.com/a/bKB7yWo History: Dougal was born with magic a child of a Fomorian and a human, his right eye was blood red and his mystical power manifested even without training. He was offered to a sorceress to be his apprentice, where he learned how to harness his burgeoning arcane talent. He soon left to hone his art on his own, learning to manipulate the minds of those around him, while he worked to extend his lifespan. Eventually he made a breakthrough, enchanting a bloodstone he had carved into a rose upon a summer solstice, as he felt power entering the world from another dimension. This crystal rose freed the wearer from the tyranny of time and age, as well as granting some additional protection. Gradually as his mastery of the Arcane grew, so too did his ego and self-importance, as he reached for ever greater power and began to see those without it as inferior. And why should he not rule them? He was greater than the mightiest king, and the strong ruled the weak. He began making moves to conquer England starting with Kent, but was thwarted before he could really begin. A demon made of shadows drove his men from his castle, and destroyed his ambitions, before coming to attempt to kill him. During this fight, he attempted to nullify it's abilities and found instead that it was a girl channelling powers from another dimension. In the end he turned her to stone, trapping her for all eternity, and quit his castle. He was angry, he'd finally found an equal. Someone to match him and had been forced to imprison her. He bitterly wished that he'd had the chance to draw her to his side. He started working to increase his influence more subtly, having learned from his brush with assassination that it was not wise to be as overt as he had, and worked to hone his magical powers and stockpile resources, although he has created many companies, his current ones are King Bank and Wolf Technologies. Eventually the era of superheroes began, and Dougal backed off, trying to get more accustomed to an incredibly changed world. He was now in a world filled with super heroes and super villains. He was still able to manipulate them, but he would need to be careful. And then it happened, the Girl he had sealed away had been freed, and had been taken in by the heroes. He was a mixture of furious and elated, on one hand someone had the gall to break his spell, but on the other he had a chance to make her join him, and if he could control some of the heroes who she was surrounded with, all the better. Personality & Motivation: Motivation: Power Dougal is forever seeking more power, from any source. Be it magical artefacts, tomes of lore, or even just political influence and money. Dougal is arrogant, self assured and powerful, a viewpoint reinforced by a long time as the most powerful being he knew of. Since his fight with Muirne he has occasionally contended with Sorcerers, Undead, Demons and since the rise of Supers, he has fought a few villains and heroes. All these successful combats have reinforced his idea of his own superiority, with the only one he currently acknowledges as an equal being Muirne. Powers & Tactics: Dougal has an array of magical powers which he uses as he pleases to defeat his opponents, but he prefers to work from the shadows, spying with his magic and using mentally manipulated agents to carry out his will. He uses his emotion control to manipulate people who have skills he can use. If he doesn't need to use their skills he just uses his mind control instead, controlling them more accurately. If he needs the permanent allegiance of someone he instead will use his mental transform spell to make a version of them that is loyal to him, or failing that, whose goals align with his. In direct combat his three primary spells are Flames of the Sorcerer Lord, Warlock's Lightning and Howl of the Night Pack. These spells each allow him to fight a variety of foes including many foes simultaneously. Finally is his Utility Spells, which allow him to store important items, create minor items for convenience, communicate through mirrors and teleport, allowing him easy travel and escape. Power Descriptions: The most initially striking aspect of his powers are his imposing height and his magical eye, both of which are derived from his Fomorian heritage, while his mental spells are all much more subtle. His combat spells however are anything but. Flames of the Sorcerer Lord creates a great mass of writhing flame that he can manipulate, while never substantial enough to be mistaken for a summoned creature or a construct he prefers to give it shape, such as a great serpent or sea beast. Warlock's Lightning is a straightforward yet dangerous spell, capable of projecting damage precisely and across a not insignificant distance. Howl of the Night Pack releases a chilling howl as if released by a mystical wolf that saps the will and vitality of those who hear it, incurably. Complications: Enemy: Muirne While currently Muirne is unaware of Dougal being alive still, she is capable of recognising him in his civilian guise. Temper: Superiority Dougal believes himself superior to almost everyone on the planet. If someone he does not recognise as an equal acts as if they are his equal he will use whatever means he deems necessary to eliminate that notion, and depending on the circumstances, the person too. If someone proves themselves a match for him he will start to see them as his equal. Obsession: Power Dougal is obsessed with power in any form, possessed by both himself and others. He will go out of his way to acquire more of it through any means necessary. This obsession with power extends to those who he views as his equals and he will attempt to collect them, subtly at first but with increasing aggression. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. I screwed up on the crunch so badly that I just kinda put it aside. The Powers section (Arguably the most important to a Sorcerer is so horrifically bad that some of the powers numbers were out by more than their entire value. 21. Muirne relaxed slightly at Dee's mental message I'm trying, it was just a bit of a shock. She jumped as the doors slammed open, and the music blasted into the quad. She watched as the boy approached and waved slightly as he finger gunned, "Hello." She smiled in greeting. "I'm Muirne, what's your name?" At Eira's quotation she cocked her head. Síþwíf Dee, that was a quote. What was she quoting? "I shake hands. Thank you all for welcoming me, everyone has been so nice here. Was- was that a quote from something?" She could feel her power swirling in the link, she pushed it back again.
  22. Muirne stared as the bear turned into a girl, and then stared more as she got a feeling like she was looking at a younger version of Dee. And then she referred to Dee as Synapse. This bear girl knew Dee's secret identity. She tensed as the stranger turned and stared at her, feeling her link to the Schattenwelt swell as her body started to try transforming. She stamped down on that hard, looking up to meet the girls eyes. "I don't know why you would know me, I haven't done anything." she shook her head as the girl asserted that she was a new student. "I am going to be coming here next year. I am Muirne Sceadusangere."
  23. At Kam and Janus' explanations, Muirne couldn't help but feel the twinge of disappointment. She'd heard Pan speak in her native tongue and talk about being a 'Forever Boy', and she'd gotten her hopes up, thinking that he was from her time. "Oh, I wasn't aware that there were people in other dimensions. The one I'm linked to doesn't have any." She looked at Janus "What's Fortuna like? My only experience with other dimensions is... Less than hospitable." Muirne followed along with Kam's explanation of the Library and , scrawling the information down on her notepad. When Janus started to talk about sneaking out she looked back at Dee for clarification as to whether it was okay to listen to this. When she didn't show disapproval the teen assumed it was okay, and tuned in more seriously, forgoing writing down the instructions to ensure there was no evidence that could get either Janus or Kam in trouble. She had to remind herself that this is a very different time after Janus called the gendered rooms outdated. She felt a blush creep over her face as they began talking about 'hook ups'. She just nodded jerkily as they finished, writing down what they said about dietary needs and mentors. She turned as Dee started talking, and her blush kicked up a notch as she finished. "I- I'll keep that in mind Síþwíf Dee."
  24. The instant Muirne realised that Pan understood what she said her blush darkened, "Þ- þú mælan fyrndagas englisc1?" She asked, knowing the answer, but still compelled to ask the question. At his explanation of being 'a forever boy' she began to eye him with curiosity and no small amount of hope. "When- er, where are you from?" She some of that hope creeping into her voice. At Pan's question her mood fell slightly, "My uh baldor2 name is Shadowborne. I have a link to a different dimension that lets draw power from it to transform myself, or teleport to that dimension." She inwardly cringed as she remembered the time she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror after an involuntary transformation. That hadn't been a good day. 1You speak old english? 2 Hero, Prince or Princeps
