  1. GHOST "I like possibilities," Casper responds with a smile of his own, as they clink their glasses... and then stops in his tracks when Grim's entire look changes. He just stares for a moment. "I, uh... I appreciate seeing both. Yes." He swallows. Why is he still that nervous around people he likes once he tells them? Sitting in his chair, he listens for a moment. He swirls the champagne around in his glass for a moment as Grim talks and explains about herself. He seems thoughtful, at least from what she can see of his face with the mask. "Yeah, well... you know me by now, don't you?" he asks in response, smiling. "I am literally all over the place. I'm a mess. I'm the guy that joined the Freedom League to try and get the kick in my butt needed to get out of a funk." Copying Grim's own motion, Casper empties the champagne from his glass, then raises it with a smile. "I would like to see where this goes. When I'm with you, I feel better about a lot of things than I have in a very long time, but I want to be sure I understand. To what degree do you need that kind of freedom? Flirting? Dating more people?" He shakes his head. "I don't want to give up on something good, but I'm a one woman kind of guy, so I just want to be sure what exactly to expect."
  2. Spaceman Paradox, Felix and Ashley. Those are the ones they need to deal with. The rest of the Starblights can, hopefully, be reasoned with. They can hopefully talk things through and avoid fighting them. As much as he hates to admit it, he doesn't think that will be the case for those three. The others are asking good questions. Keeping the line open. It shouldn't take long to get the location and... Everything cuts off. Orion panics. Parker is already pulling his shirt off, revealing his uniform under it. "Do it," he says to Lawrence. If he doesn't, then Parker will do it by himself. It's not too far away. He should be able to hit it right.

  4. GM "No." The Conqueror Worm sees the tear. He realizes what is going on immediately. "I cannot be contained. The dark forest will not be enough." Despite his words, he does not sound as sure. Once more, he places a hand on Shift's chest, a burning sensation starting to shoot through her system. Chump, for his part, steps back, out of the way of the Conqueror Worm, and instead moves towards Nightscale.
  5. Ms. Scorpion can't get free, so still stuck. Chump moves towards Nightscale, but stops there and doesn't do anything else. The Conqueror Worm is not happy about this. He lashes out at Shift in an attempt to get free: 31 @Heritage give me a DC30 TOU save, remember all the save bonuses from Charlie's boosts. The Puppets swarm still, but let's not bog things down with rolls for them, since everyone should probably make them easily with all of Charlie's boosts. @Heritage is up. Do you want to keep your slot or drop in initiative so everyone can help with getting the Conqueror Worm into the tear?   6. Spaceman Parker takes it all in. Different timelines, different universes, other versions of Lawrence, and Collapse. The name alone sends shivers down Parker's spine. He takes it all in. His friend has obviously not had an easy time, knowing all of this, and it does explain a lot. "That's not necessarily how it works, Consuelo," he says, rather than address Lawrence immediately. Though he adresses Consuelo at first, he is looking around at everyone. "Lawrence isn't alone, but that doesn't mean he won't ultimately have to be the counter." He stands up. "I was breaking down barriers between universes when I was ten. There's a lot of impossible things out there. Maybe they're right, maybe they're not." A little revelation about himself, too. Stopping, he walks over by Lawrence, then lower to his knees and hugs his friend. "It can't have been easy growing up with all this. I'm so sorry you had to go through it."
  7. Spaceman The moment Lawrence starts talking, Parker can already hear that something is off. His tone is different from his usual self, even when he tries to put his own powers down or hide things about himself. Parker pushes himself up from the position he had been lying in the sand, instead sitting up, his legs crossed, leaning the palms of his hands on them. Different timelines, different universes... It is wild to think about. Parker is, if anything, shocked that he is not more surprised about it, that it doesn't feel stranger to him. He has questions. Of course he does, but right now, he simply waits and nods to Lawrence to let him know that he understands. He is obviously not done.
  8. ARCHER II The snake marks the spot? Right. Archer peeks around the corner, counting the Black Snakes that stand guard. They know that he's coming, but that's fine. It's better like that. A few normal looking goons, and two big guys that look like they're either on steroids or something bigger. Taking out the small fry first is best. Less bullets to dodge. If he catch the big guys, then it'll only be better. He reaches for an arrow in his quiver, twists it once and then lowers it to his string. Back turned, he breathes out once, then steps around the corner. "You know who I am. So come on, show me what you can do." His bow raised, he lets the arrow fly into the middle of the group, where it explodes into rapidly exploding riot foam that quickly starts to harden.
  9. Lots of guards standing in close proximity to each other? Sounds good. First a Fast Demoralize as a Move Action, so -5 (I need to add a feat for that...): 16, which should be opposed by their Will, Sense Motive or Intimidate checks, and they will be Shaken if they fail (-2 on attacks and checks for one round) Gonna use a Snare Arrow with the Area Arrows add-on, so that's a DC16 Reflex Save vs. Area, then DC 16/13 vs. the Snare. Might catch them off guard, if they haven't seen him before the demoralize! Archer is making sure to stay at the end of the hallway, so that any that he doesn't get hopefully doesn't reach him during their first turn.
  10. Spaceman Parker has done what they had talked about and had equipment that should be able to trace the call, but it's not something he knows a lot about. Still... he has tried activating it before the call, of course doing what he could to try and make himself untraceable. Money came in handy some times. He had put the phone on speaker, to make sure everyone could hear what Orion had to say. He listens as Orion speaks, and he listens to Consuelo. "I want to help you, but I can't speak for everyone else, and Rot has some good questions," he agrees. "Do you lose your powers if you are defeated? Or does it have to do with distance? It's important to know as much as we can, so we can try to help without anyone getting hurt." He looks over at Consuelo, before he continues, acknowledging her point. "But it does sound like there's a bigger problem. You won't have peace while the monsters keep coming, and what happens when monsters arrive that can't find you?"
  11. Spaceman "It's not a competition," Parker speaks up from his position in the sand, lying with his hands behind his head and starting up at the sky. He is wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of black shorts. "There's unfathomable things in the depths, Mizuki, but imagine everything that's out there. We know that there's life out there. Who knows how many worlds have oceans like ours that you could explore? Or everything else out there, for that matter." His voice is calm, not trying to start a fight or anything, just join the conversation. Parker smiles, turning slightly to look at Michael. "You gotta think about more than that. Even before you get that high up, there'll be temperature drops, the air will get thinner. There's reasons that people use ships to go up there." Was he speaking from personal experience? Maybe.

  13. The STORMCROW Charlie stares around. It is happening so far, everyone acting together. He fights to keep a smile off his lips. Everyone is working together perfectly, whether they mean to or not... but this isn't the time to fall bask in the success. They're not done. Not yet. Casanova is held down by Nightscale. Shift is still holding the Conqueror Worm. Paper is ready. Multi-Girl and the zombie woman are holding back the Conqueror Worm's Puppets. And the rift. Charlie honestly doesn't know everything about the weird place that Shadowborne is connected to, but its not a good place. Is it smart to throw the Conqueror Worm in there? Do they have any choice? More puppets are coming in. No, they don't. "Paper! We need to get the Conqueror Worm wrapped up! Stop him from fighting back! Multi-Girl, Zombie Girl: Hit the worm with everything you got! Nightscale, do not let Casanova near that portal! Shift! One shot! Get him into Shadowborne's rift!"" Stormcrow pauses, then... "Guardians: Go!"

  15. GM "WHAT!?" the girl yells, clearly as surprised as Gamma Buzz when he starts yelling and pushing his friends away. She looks around, spinning as she tries to look around her. "I-I'm not a grenade! What are you talking about?" She stops, looking at her hands. "What's happening?" While the group looks at her, the girl is growing. Within minutes, she appears to have aged years, while her skin has become almost deathly pale. Gamma Buzz can no longer see the heat from within her.
  16. GM Chump stares at the dragon that holds Casanova, once again struck by indecision. Toxin is on the floor, struggling to get up. Ghule and Multi-Girl stand in front of the Conqueror Worm's puppets, doing all in their power to keep them at bay. Slowly, but surely, they are driving them back, but the numbers are still overwhelming. The doors burst open, and more begin to appear, as the Conqueror Worm's influence spreads. Nightscale holds Casanova's struggling form. Physically, he is no match for a mighty dragon, but he is still protected by his connection to the Conqueror Worm. As Shift keeps the Conqueror Worm contained, struggling against his power, the world is torn apart in front of her, the darkness of the Schattenwelt. The darkness inside is absolute, and foreboding. Stormcrow and Paper stand ready. Will they be able to help with the final push? Miss Scorpion is screaming bloody murder, swearing all kinds of pain and revenge on Paper.

For the record: Dimensional Pocket and all that cannot normally be used offensively, but I will let you spend a HP to do that, since its very appropriate to everything going on and just awesome. The HP has been subtracted in the counts below. Even with the Conqueror Worm being grappled, he won't be easy to throw. Teamwork will be needed. The text M:> read clearly on the screen. M:>Do you, now? There is a pause. M:>A ghost in the machine. What do you seek? Another pause. M:>Power or truth?
  19. The STORMCROW Charlie stares at Leon for a moment at the suggestion, with an almost dead expression in his eyes. He doesn't say anything, he doesn't do anything. He just eventually turns away when Leon moves on. When Leon states that they're not the League, he grins. "Of course we're not the Freedom League," he says. His tone has shifted. Before he sounded excited. Now, there's something more. "But, I don't us to live in their shadow. We're not going to be just the junior team or anything like that. We're going to do things our way, whatever that'll turn out to be, and, if everything goes as well as I hope, we'll be better." Ambitious, perhaps, but it's not like they have ever known Charlie to be anything but.
  20. The STORMCROW "Hard and fast? Do you want to split up then, or stick together?" Charlie is already looking around. There's plenty of places to hide, corners to move about. A lot of places to stay out of sight for an ambush. "How about I scout a bit ahead and stay out of sight, then we can do a proper ambush?"

  22. GHOST "Don't say I didn't warn you," Casper replies to Velocity with a shrug, "but I'll keep it in mind if anyone grabs my kid." He doesn't want to get into too many specifics there. If Velocity's kid has been kidnapped or gone missing like this before, he doesn't want to have the same thing happen to Carrie. The doors open. And another leaguer is there, Gaian Knight. Casper hasn't really spent much time with him, just seen him at meetings and such, but then again, it is time that he tries to get more involved. "Thanks. The view is pretty great." Casper has to give the Gaian Knight that. "Good to see you again, Knight."
  23. That's a Bruise for Paper. @Nerdzul You get +8 since you get from both Master Plan Inspire, for a total of 22. With that you can guess that the connection between Casanova and the Conqueror Worm does not seem to be magic. You get Inspire and Master Plan for your Startle too, so that's a total 28. Roll opposing Startle 28: 19, he is feinted. You are, however, too far away to be able to grab him without surging for a Move Action, since you spent your Move Action on the Startle. You will easily hit him, and he can't make that grapple check, so do you want to do that? (and potentially spend a HP to get rid of Fatigue for that)?   24. The STORMCROW Charlie grins at Bernie when she asks about the jet, but he answers Muirne first. "Depends on how many people are staying together," he begins, motioning towards Luke. Sure, he might not be the most gung-ho about moving in, but it's not like Charlie is here to play chaperone. "There's 14 personal rooms right now, but there's a bunch of storage rooms that can be converted, if we expand that much." Turning back to Bernie, the grins return. "Yeah. There's a jet. Gotta be able to get around, right? By the way, I feel like we should give it a name, any suggestions?"
