  1. October 2021 Southside Serbian Orthodox Church (formerly) The Southside Serbian Orthodox Church had been a center for the Serbian community in this part of Freedom City since the turn of the last century. But though the Southside was still the working-class neighborhood it had been in 1900, now it was a neighborhood full of immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean, immigrants who had their own community centers and own churches. The SSOC (or St. Stephen's if you wanted to get technical) had stood vacant and abandoned for over a decade, a remnant of what had once been a thriving place. But now good times had come. The long-abandoned building had been sold to a local organization and was about to be refit into a community center and skatepark. In a few months, skilled artisans would come in and carefully remove the art that long-dead craftspeople had laid down on the walls and ceilings to a Serbian-American museum across town. But in the meantime, ten years of neglect means plenty of time for a lot of cruft to accumulate, cruft that a group of young metahumans were just right to handle discreetly. So it was that early one Saturday morning, the teenagers had been dropped off outside St. Stephen's with empty dumpsters, gloves and cleaning equipment, and all anyone could need to clean the place. They had permission to use their powers, even wear their costumes, albeit discreetly. "This is such a shame," said Owain, his usually-jovial face solemn as he stood outside the church's side entrance. "A house of God left abandoned for so long, and to lose what it was even if they save the bones of the place. I wot not wither to go with such a task," he admitted. "At least you don't have to smell it," commented Neko in Japanese, wrinkling her nose as she looked at the long-abandoned church. She had actually fallen asleep leaning against Owain on the ride over, which meant her ears and tail had been visible the whole time as they were dropped off and given their instructions.
  2. GM Afternoon, September 25th Millennium Mall, Midtown Freedom City It was raining, hard. Like so many other teens, young adults and older, Muirne, Luke, Leon and Charlie had found their way to Millennium Mall to have something to do now that classes were out for the week. Something somewhere dry, hopefully. Bernadette, for her part, happened to be in the mall at the same time. Maybe just a single her, maybe several, or maybe it all depended on the moment. As one would expect on a day like this, the mall was absolutely packed. People everywhere, in stores, in the food court, well... everywhere. The PA system routinely mentioned events like clean up to the toilets on the 2nd floor, a missing child near a toy store, lost phones and the like.
  3. Claremont Academy Workout Room It was strange being back at Claremont after all these years. When she got asked if she wanted to mentor a student, she jumped at the chance. She was sitting in one of the work out areas, waiting patiently. She had sent a note along to Multi-Girl to ask her to come here instead of meeting elsewhere. She assumed the young woman would benefit from her particular areas of expertise; kicking down doors, kicking bad guy ass, and sneaking around when it was the smarter thing to do. She was vaguely aware that the young woman could make duplicates of herself. That was a neat trick, Mali reflected. She'd been in the heroism business for about ten years, and having a second Crimson Tiger around would certainly make that easier. She hadn't been there for long, and just needed to wait a few minutes.

    The Third Act

Kord Dormitories, Third Floor Claremont Academy, Freedom City, New Jersey Saturday, September 4, 2021 The start of another school year was only a few days away, so unsurprisingly the Claremont Academy campus was abuzz with activity as parents and students descended on the school's dormitories. Amid this activity, a pair of teenage girls with bright red hair made their way from the parking lot toward the Rita Kord Dormitory. At first glance, one might have assumed the two girls were twins, except it was not just their features that were completely identical, they were both dressed in the exact same grey and black plaid skirt and white top. In fact, the only difference between the two was that one was carrying a suitcase and had a backpack over one shoulder, while the other was carrying a box. Bernadette O'Connell glanced back at her duplicate that was carrying the box behind her, letting out a slight sigh at the unintended display of her powers. The teen was glad that her older brothers had stayed up in Boston when her parents had driven her down for the start of the year at her new school, as there had been a few times where the family mini-van had gotten a bit too crowded. Hopefully this new school would help her learn to prevent things like that. Reaching the entrance of the building, the redhead glanced up towards the upper floors a moment before looking back down at the letter from the school that had her room assignment. "Alright, third floor, Room 308." She stated to her duplicate with a slight Irish accent, even though it was entirely unnecessary to communicate that out loud. Her other duplicate that was still back at the car with her parents also knew where the floor was located and could guide them up there when with the remainder of Bernadette's things.
  5. Multi-Girl Power Level: PL 8 (152/165PP) Trade-Offs: -4 Atk/+4 Dam (melee) / -4 Def/+4 Tough Unspent Power Points: 13 In Brief: Teenage duplicating T-Baby Alternate Identity: Bernadette O’Connell Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland Residence: Boston, Massachusetts, Claremont Academy during the school year Base of Operations: Claremont Academy during the school year Occupation: Student Affiliation: Claremont Academy Family: Sean O’Connell (father); Deirdre O’Connell (mother); Liam O’Connell (brother); Brendan O’Connell (brother) Description: Age: 16 (June 2005) Apparent Age: 16 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5’ 9” Weight: 130 lbs Eyes: Green Hair: Red Bernadette is a tall, attractive teenager with an athletic build and bright green eyes. Her thick red hair goes down to the middle of her back. She is rather pale skinned, with slight freckles on her checks and nose, as well on her shoulders and upper back. Her clothing style is generally typical of a teenage girl her age, though she tends to favor outfits that are more form fitting. So far she has not come up with any sort of heroic costume and therefore relies on the standard Claremont uniform. History: Born in Dublin, Ireland, the youngest of three children, Bernadette’s family immigrated to the United States when she was eight years old. For most of her life, Bernadette seemed just your average Irish/Irish-American girl, perhaps a little stronger, faster or tougher than other girls her age, but still nothing too out of the ordinary. As she grew older, the young redhead naturally drifted to sports, first football (soccer) and later focusing on lacrosse. Three years ago, Bernadette accompanied her lacrosse team for a tournament in Freedom City. The team was at a game in Kingston when the 2018 Terminus invasion began. Thankfully, both teams and bystanders were all safely evacuated from the area, but not before being exposed to some of the energy from the Terminus. Unknown to Bernadette, this exposure awoke something that had long been dormant within her. Over a decade before Bernadette was born, her father had been a merchant marine aboard a cargo vessel docked in Freedom City when the 1993 Terminus invasion had occurred. Her father’s exposure to Terminus energy led to Bernadette being born with a latent connection to the Terminus. Her exposure during the 2018 invasion activated that connection. For the next few years, the activation this connection was generally unnoticeable. But toward the end of her Freshman year in high school, Bernadette had an unexpectedly late “growth spurt,” growing several more inches. At the same time, Bernadette continued to get stronger and stronger. Then, right after the end of the school year, Bernadette was out at a mall with several friends. It had seemed just another mall trip when Bernadette’s duplication power inadvertently activated. This caused Bernadette to panic and try to get away from her friends before they saw her with her duplicate. This just led to her activating more duplicates, which generally just created a bit of a chaotic and confusing scene at the mall. Headmistress Summers learned about the incident (generally caught on the mall’s surveillance cameras) and reached out to Bernadette’s family, who were struggling to figure out how to deal with their daughter’s sudden abilities. Now Bernadette is set to start at Claremont Academy in the fall, away from her friends and family, in order to learn more about her powers and how to control them. Personality & Motivation: Growing up with two older brothers, Bernadette learned to stick up for herself. As a result she developed an outgoing and sometimes aggressive personality, which has often served her well in athletics. With those she considers friends, Bernadette is generally good natured. However, since her powers became active, the teen’s world has turned upside down, as she has had to leave behind her friends and family to attend Claremont to learn how to control her powers. Powers & Tactics: Still being relatively new to her powers, Bernadette is still learning to fully control them. It is still not too uncommon for her to accidently summon one or more duplicates when not intending to. She also has not fully adjusted to being much stronger than she used to be. When it comes to combat situations, Bernadette tends to rely on her experiences of scraping with her brothers growing up and the team sports she used to be involved in such as lacrosse. This typically involves working with several duplicates against the same opponent or having her duplicates attack multiple opponents around her at once. Her Strike power is Bernadette and several of her duplicates striking the same target in coordination. Her snare is her and several duplicates grappling a target. Complications: T-Baby: Bernadette’s powers originate from the Terminus incursion of 1993 and 2018, there are those that are frightened or hate so call “T-Babies.” Too Crowded: Bernadette is still rather new to her powers, this can often result in her inadvertently summing one or more duplicates, which can create problems.
