  1. The dark clouds and rain came suddenly. When Pan had felt the first drops, he had not cared much, but now? Now it was something else entirely. What was that saying he had heard here? When it rains, it pours? It seemed fitting. He was under Lucy in a matter of seconds, water flying off him as he came to an abrupt stop. Still dripping wet and soaked, he was grinning nonetheless, looking to Ashley. "You called?"
  2. Spaceman Parker shook his head at Luke's question, while he led the way. "Ah, no, I'm afraid not. I'm nothing that exciting. Unless you count being these kids' favorite teacher as a super power, heh." "You can call me whatever you're most comfortable with, Pol. If you want to stick to Mr. Powers, that's just fine." He wasn't walking fast, just taking his time. He didn't seem to be in a particular hurry, even if the kids were waiting for them. "See, that right there? That's exactly why the two of you sounded perfect for this." He sounded happy with both his choice. "You see, you," he pointed at Luke, "want to be a hero. Keep people safe and everything. Why? Because you can. That's all the reason you need. That is pretty cool. And you?" he pointed at Pol this time, "you're still learning, well, basically everything. Its all new to you, right? That's perfect for the kids. They're kids, they don't know anything about the world yet, just like you." He paused, turning to look at them both. "Besides, you turn into a draogn, and you're a robot. Do you have any idea how cool a bunch of 9 years olds are going to think you are?"
  3. "Destroyed?" Mette shuddered at the idea. "So, they might have outright killed Otaku to do whatever they've done to him?" Yeah, no, that didn't sit well with her at all. "If that's what's happened, then how do we know he's the only one they've done that to? I mean, this is pretty huge, right? Take someone prisoner, essentially kill them, upload their mind? That's bad, right?" She couldn't be the only one to think like that, and thankfully, Klara seemed like she was taking charge now. Good, great. Mette had done her best with Muirne, but she wasn't really used to working with a team like this... No, she really shoudln't be in charge of this. She wasn't even a Vanguard, like the rest of them. Well, except for Eira. "Alright. Let's do this. Tell me what to hit and I'll be right next to you."
  4. "No, not Peter," Pan corrected. "That was just one of the things Mr. Barrie got wrong, or changed." He let Leon continue his story, listening with some interest, but occassionally leaning in close to Eira, pulling her to him before loosening his grip again. He didn't seem to pay Leon's story all that much mind, at least not until it was over. "Responsibility? Such a boring word, yes? So, what will they do if you simply... do not? Cause trouble, then you go to jail, is that it?" Eira would probably recognize Pan's tone. Ideas were brewing.
  5. "That depends on what she wanted, does it now?" Pan said. "You mentioned that it kept saying something about you and Felix ruining the story. Perhaps it wanted the love story more than the heart? It had to have reasons for coming for Claremont, instead of the city at large, at least." He grinned briefly at Eira. "Besides, if it came to steal your heart, it would have to take it from me first." His tone quickly serious again after the quick comment, he returned to Micah. By now, he was sitting cross-legged in front of Micah, resting his elbows on his legs, and his face on his hands. "What did you dream?"
  6. "We are not taking their power if it puts a child in danger." Pan's voice was focused, hard. There was no questioning him. "I can take their eyes, if we need it." "Storms?" He looked puzzled, but amused. "That is quite a good fit... Maybe you should consider a name change, my friend?" As always, his voice changed from serious to jovial at the drop of a hat. He looked to Lulu, waiting for her response to Micah's question.
  7. Nevermore II Charlie let out a breath it hadn't seemed like he had been holding until just now, before shifting his head slightly to look at the Felix and Adam. "So, I guess that's not normal for Claremont, right? I mean, most people I've met haven't been jerks like that guy, so I guess students don't get in fights that often, right?" He seemed to think it over for a moment, before speaking up again, this time turning to look at the spot where he had sent the ravenrang into the wall. "I'd like that back, Leon. The boss is kinda protective about the trademark and everything."
  8. GM Eddie stood still for a moment, remaining between Sebastian and the others. "Oh, please, that's your word against mine," Sebastian finally said, a certain annoyance, and arrogance, to his tone. "Zach was just nice enough to help me when the rest of you decided to act like jerks instead of the heroes we're supposed to be. And now you're all just trying to turn it around and make it seem like I mind controlled him? Like I would ever use my powers on another student! It's just sad, isn't it, Eddie?" Eddie didn't say anything, just staring at the rest. "Right you are, my friend. There's no need to stick around. I'll just go some place where I'll be appreciated! Come on, Eddie. Help me with the bags, please." Eddie, for his part, broke his vigil and moved to pick up the bags, before turning to leave with Sebastian, the pair quickly disappearing into their room. Leon would try to pull the raven-rang out of the wall, but it wasn't as easy as it first seemed. It had been thrown with some force to stick to the wall like that, after all.
  9. "Oh, yes, Claremont has people from everywhere," Pan added to Micah's response to Utsuwa. "Other countries are pretty much the school's backyard, it seems." He paused to count on his fingers while he continued: "Other times, other worlds, alternate realities, and, my personal favorite, different dimensions." He smiled widely, holding up his hand with the four fingers and thumb showing, the back of his hand turned towards Utsuaw. "It is all very exciting. You never know what kind of people you are going to meet or what adventure you will find." Another brief pause. "Everyone here has their own story, so what is yours? A host family? What brought you to Claremont? Something incredible, no?" His interest sounded genuine, at least.
  10. GM Billy's eyes fell on Alice's hands. He was starting to sweat. He swallowed hard. "#%&¤." He was not used to not being the one in a position of power. "Alright... alright..." He shook his head in defeat. "Couple of old dudes, never got their names. They get in touch with me when they got something new for me to sell... I'm just a dealer, not some big shot!" "Just... get outta here. Go get your drugs somewhere else. I'll meet with your little super hero after school, show her where it is."
  11. Yep, he can't beat that with bonus, no need to roll.
  12. "A daring escape? How absolutely scandalous." The voice from above was, of course, familiar to Eira. Not so much to Leon. "Why, somebody should think of the children! What kind of role models would we all be?" The tone was light, there was a hidden laugh behind the voice, some golden dust glittering starting to glitter down from above. "Hello, I do not believe we have met. I am Pan the Forever Boy." He was in his full costume, mask and all, but then again, to Pan that was not much different from normal Earth clothes, was it now? He floated down, his feet still never touching the ground, planting a quick peck on Eira's cheek, before turning to Leon. "Tell me more. Spare no details!" He paused briefly. "You are right, by the way. I am very pretty."
  13. GM The Painted Desert, Arizona September 22nd, 2020 14:00 PM Doctor Alexander Macedon stepped out of the van, and into the bright light of the Arizona desert. If his heavy backpack weighed him down in old age, he didn't show. He was an older man, having pushed past 70 some years ago. He would tell anyone that bothered to ask that he was retired, and yet, he was, standing in the Painted Desert once again. Once again, the headmistress had convinced him to take a group of students on a survival class. He could only hope that it went better than the last time. Macedon's hair was thinning and grey, bordering on white. His beard was cut short, barely more than stubble. His left eye was hidden behind an eyepatch, with horn-rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. He wore khaki pants, a white dress shirt that was already starting to stain from sweat. His boots were heavy, but solid. Dressed for the weather. His well worn cowboy had was held in his hand, lightly fanning his face. He wore a slightly oversized revolver in a holster on the right side of his belt. Turning to the van, he grumbled something, before speaking up. "Alright, hurry up and get out here, kids. We don't want to waste more sunlight than we have to." The students were even younger than the ones in last batch. Fine. He'd deal with that. More of them were just regular people, no powers, just training or tech. He could respect that. He had even allowed them to bring their gear, as long as they carried it themselves. For emergencies, of course. Not just for the regular class. "Rule number one: I give an order, you follow that order. This is a survival class. You're going to learn how to survive if you ever end up in a place like this. No buts, if or maybes. As far as you're concerned, I am in charge."
  14. Forever Boy Washing and cleaning things were honestly not Pan's idea of a good time. He had tried to get out of it at first, but... well, that elephant. That marvelous monstrous elephant. Once he saw it, it was love at first sight. He really had no other way of explaining it. He could not let it stay in this state, could he? Vandalism was such a petty thing, not even a proper prank. He had spent the day in full costume. Greens, whites and reds, domino mask and smile firmly in place as he worked, stopping at every opportunity to talk to the local press as they showed up. Any excuse to do less work, after all. Such as right now, where he was hovering a bit above the ground, grinning widely at the older gentleman in suit, tie and fedora that really seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else but here. "Why, yes, of course we had to come to help. There is much more to being super heroes than just fighting bad guys!" He left out about the part about adventure and how boring all this was, but of course, who could blame him?
  15. Justice "Y'know, I could probably fix up a machine that could do all that for you... I mean, not right now, but, eventually, if you wanted or something or..." Alright, alright, that wasn't why she was there. No, not at all. She was there on business. At least par business, right? "So, umm... I know you're retired and everything, but I put up this whole thing on HeroHouse and CapesList, and I got a bunch of heroes together and, uh... I had kinda hoped you'd show..." She trailed off a bit.
  16. Spaceman "Ah, thank you, it is good to meet you." The teacher gripped Luke's hand, but with far less pressure than the draconic teen would muster. He smiled, extending his hands to Pol as well. "And you must be Pol. I've looked forward to meeting both of you." He fidgeted with his tie that had loosened a bit. "I'm Parker Powers. Just Parker is fine, no need for any misters or sirs here, alright?" His tone was friendly. The teacher that you just loved as a kid. He motioned lightly with his head and a smile, then started walking, hands in his pockets. "Come, the kids are just gonna love you." He was silent for a second, before continuing. "The headmistress' notes on you were, well, there was a lot of them, but why don't you tell me a bit about yourselves? What can you do? Why'd you go to Claremont? What makes Luke and Pol tick?"
  17. GM "You will NOT leave me!" It wasn't entirely clear just who Alice was talking to. Felix? Micah? Both? Her voice was skipping, changing, distorting. Energy cascaded from her form. Surely, someone at the school would react soon? And yet, the two teens seemed all alone, facing down the energy being that seemed at once so strange, and yet familiar. Like someone they had both seen before. "You WILL love me! I will not let you break the story, I..." Alice trailed off. She barely looked human anymore. Bright, too bright. An impossible light in the sky. She made a sound, a pause that might sound like a breath being taken, without inhaling air. "One day, you will love me." Then, as abruptly as she had first appeared, she was gone. No flash, no explosion, nothing. Where the light that was Alice had stood moments before, there was simply nothing.
  18. @KnightDisciple can you give me an IC post and a Stealth before I describe what's inside in a GM post?
  19. Nevermore II Something flew right past first Eddie's heads, then Sebastian. Maybe three inches to the right of their faces, before embedding itself in the wall behind them. A weapon that seemed to be somewhere between a small boomerang and a shuriken. It was distinctively shaped like a stylized raven. "Or how about we all just back off right now?" Charlie was standing with his right hand held out, slowly lowering it to his side after the throw. It wasn't really clear where he had produced the ravenrang from. "Do any of us really wanna get thrown out on the first day over a jerk like that? Your friend started this, Eddie. Felix and Adam are just the guys that's gonna finish it if Sebastian doesn't back off right now."
  20. GM The punch never reached Sebastian. By the time it was thrown, a large figure moved in between, blocking the blow with his crossed forearms. He took the hit with little effort, but with a grunt. He was tall. Just a bit taller than Felix, around Adam's height. Blonde buzzcut, white t-shirt with NYPD printed across his chest, along with a police badge struck to the shirt. "You shouldn't hit other students." He spoke slowly, measuring every word carefully. "Ah, Eddie. Just in time. I guess these guys just don't want to help others." Casanova stared at Felix. "Maybe I should help you help the rest of us have a good time."
  21. Intimidate from Nevermore: 21 Opposed by Casanova: 15
  22. Hero points spent: Legatus: 1 Specimen: 1 There's an Interpose coming to block the attack, and gonna veto him taking the punch, cus Chump's strong, which means +1 HP for Legatus.
