  1. Hello everyone! This is my current active threads, and characters. It's been a busy month for me! Could use a day off! Endeavor (Sakurako Hino) (33 Forecasted Posts) >Birth Trauma (19) >Justice Like Lightning (8) >New Addition (6 since December 1st)
  2. Sakurako felt the surge hit. It was painful. Psychic? Was this a psychic attack? No, it wasn't IN her head, it was something like being hit from a tazer. This wasn't good. She was outclassed, not knowing what Hannah could do. She decided to remember something her folks taught her. Move at right angles around corners and break the line of sight. Many psychic and magical powers that need line of sight are useless in an environment like this. Endeavor pushed herself past the pain, and flew down random sewer tunnels, listening for a loud running sound. To find one of the outlets to the river. Or the ocean. Whatever worked. Then she needed to have a talk - a very, very long one with her parents. But this pain, it felt like every nerve and muscle were revolting against her! She toughed it out. She eventually got to where the Wading River and South River met, spitting out near the Sentry statue. She splashes down, and floats for a few minutes as she re-collected her mind and her ability to move. Floating by her inflated life preserver until about 5 minutes later she felt better enough to rocket out to her Parent's yacht at the North Bay Yacht Club. She landed on the deck, looking soaked, confused, scared, and a bit angry. "OkÄsan!!!" Sakurako shouted. She always spoke in Japanese when greeting, or in this case in calling out her mother. She'd be the first one she'd look for.
  3. Fortitude Check (DC14): 1d20+4 12 - SLOWED Fortitude Check (DC14): 1d20+4 10 The result was a 6 on the die, so that's a 20 (16+4), not 10. Made it. 1 Hero Point Left
  4. This was getting too much... everything was working but suddenly Hannah was having some sort of psychological breakdown. She wasn't going to ask questions. Doctor Sparks could be fully able to take Sakurako down when he needed, and something was horribly wrong with this whole situation. The issue here though, was she now was well in over her head. She was going to just set off a pulse and run, but Sakurako decided at this point this was too dangerous. She shouldn't have gone in this deep, she should have talked to her parents first. Sakurako runs out, as soon as she turns the corner outside she supplements her speed with her flight. 'ground skating' as it were to the nearest manhole cover. This was too much for her. Perhaps if she can get outside and find someone that could help she could come back... but she doubted that they would remain there. There's no answers for her, but to run.
  5. Sakurako set down her bags, pulling out a pair of rubber gloves to wear over her suit's... sanitation would be a thing at this point with this procedure. In fact she sets her EM-Wand in the center of the room, calibrating the frequency of it's personal electromagnetic field to create a antiseptic field in the room, making it inhospitable for bacteria and viruses, not to mention making them unable to bind to cells. "Really, you didn't think of ensuring that the surgical theater was sanitary before opening her up? You're lucky I started that before the scalpel hit her scalp. Also you need to make an adjustment. She'd have a wonderful singing voice though as that's near her speech centers." She said, looking at where he was about to start. "3 millimeters clockwise on the X axis, 1 millimeter on the Y. That should ensure you land squarely where you need to be." She was amazed that Hannah was still conscious through the procedure, the anesthetics being used were highly, highly advanced, although she knew that with any brain surgery, the patient is generally conscious to know where to avoid damage. She never thought she'd actually be looking at a live human brain. Particularly one of someone who was just a clerk. "If you really want to make this work, network this to her different sense centers, she would have better reaction to stimuli."
  6. I'll take a shot. Medicine Roll - For surgery: 1d20+10 15 - Might be enough to give a +2.
  7. Sakurako took more measure of the explosives in the room, but the thought of every device going off was... now a clear and present threat, beyond what sort of banter they had going. Hannah was about to go under a procedure, thing is what she didn't know. She couldn't play her other ace in the hole. And she would have to be quick, setting it up on the EM wand to do it. It'll most likely fry the focusing array on the wand, and shut her suit down, but she was wagering he could trigger the explosives by computer, and the stuff around her didn't look like it was EMP shielded. She unconciously twitched her right hand, waiting for the moment when she knew she might have to stop from becoming chunky salsa.
  8. Knowledge: Physical Sciences: 1d20+10 17 HERO POINT Knowledge: Physical Sciences: 1d20+10 23 No go on the 25 Sense Motive: 1d20+10 15 No dice Medicine Roll: 1d20+10 16 - Medicine Roll, no go.
  9. Sakurako looked at the ground. "One request... You have information on the Circus Maximus? I will arrange a... blindside. It'll be painful but it will look like you were making your escape and had me temporarily... unconscious." She said, pointing to a scalpel. "It would be all a ruse, of course, and you'd be surprised how much one bleeds when taking a simple cut to the forehead. Ask a pro wrestler and they'll tell you. But with the bandage, I'll have some data to show for it. I can simply chalk it up to my inexperience in situations like this, but still got something important. As for Hannah... what is her exit strategy in all this?" It turned her stomach that she just got put in the center of all this... and what is gonna happen from here? She was... out of her depth. "Will she... have to come with you?" She looked to Hannah. "Such a procedure would probably require your supervision for a while, wouldn't it?"
  10. Sakurako crossed her arms. "I'm sure federal officials would appreciate all the information you could provide. There... is the witness protection program." She said, adjusting her suit. "But what needs to happen first is communication. My parents would be far more experienced in this sort of affair so I will defer to their judgement, but they have taught me a lot. About being a superheroine. About doing the right thing, and knowing when there is potential to save someone. And I want to save two people today. You from the Circus, and Hannah from her eventual fate." "You do realize I am still a minor, sailor collared super suit or not. As such my words won't carry much weight, but it's my duty none the less to try what I can. Your life is in danger, as well as Hannah's. If you can help bring down Circus Maximus, I am sure in return you will have all the protection you need until things are safe." "I... cannot begin to express though the thoughts I have in regard to your genius being tapped into for a Gladitorial fighting ring." She said, crossing her arms. "But... I want to give you a chance. A chance to bring your talents into the light. Where they should be. Imagine the lives you could save, Dr. Sparks. The people who would laud your name because you saved their child." "I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to help someone and it seems you're in need of rescue too."
  11. "My measured speed is 100 mph as the crow flies, is that okay Casey, or should I get a head start?" She said, adjusting her suit. "Might be a good idea for me to scout ahead and see what's to be seen, and wait for you and the gang to get organized and get there. I might be the slow one of the group. Unless our joint speeds is good enough. Speed is of the essence." She started to walk from the tree, looking over her shoulder after flipping her rain cloak on over her suit. "You know, Casey, how about you take the lead on this mission. I do better assisting, than being in the front. At least at first." She sighed, remembering the times she had to go it alone on rescue missions after the Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011 in Japan. "Besides, I'm the one with the sailor collared outfit... I'm not the captaining sort." She said with a joking tone.
  12. Sakurako groaned. "Better to have the loose cannons and hotshots out of here... It'll leave those who are actually thinking instead of rushing off without a clue to take care of things." Sakurako quipped, once the others were out of sight. "Miss impatient should learn to consult her juniors more." She opened her rain cape again, to protect her laptop. She invited who were left under her makeshift tent to point out her discovery. "One thing she didn't ask was the time-stamps of the incidents. Yes the Fens and Lincoln were two possible locations, but without the time-stamps she couldn't get a proper place to start. The time-stamps point to the center of the Lincoln district." She pointed to the location, memorizing it on sight before closing up and organizing herself. "We should move quick, if there is a superhuman behind this, going in blind might be a mistake the 'A Team' may regret. At least we might get a jump on it. They'll be walking into it blind." "What means of transport do we have?" She said, putting the last of her things into her backpack. She pulls out and attaches a strap, setting up the pack to be something like a messenger bag to loop over her shoulder, making sure nothing crossed the front or back of the vest of her suit. "I can carry the lightest of us if needed."
  13. Sakurako gets self concious, and presses a couple icons on the control watch, as the suit turns into more muted blacks and greys. Looking over everyone in the room she started to feel more uncomfortable with Errant than with the others. "O... of course people were looking at me, I'm new and for a few minutes I had high visibility colors. People notice oranges and reds pretty quickly." She said, quickly trying to brush off her discomfort. It wasn't working. "D... do you always intrude like that?" She eyeballed Errant for a moment, but then decided discretion was the better part of valor. She got up with her half-eaten food and walked away. Where to, she wasn't mentioning. Although she was behind Casey. It seemed her classmate had a good idea.
  14. Will do! Program: Taking 10 for a DC 20 Program. Investigation Check: 1d20+10 25 Got you your 25!
  15. What sort of roll would I need to pull what I suggested off? Noting this is being taken from publicly accessible information and no hacking is involved. Pretty much Sakurako is making a "Bot", to scour things like Facebook and Twitter to look for reports of these surges while determining a pattern. Using the map the power company has of reported power issues to cross-reference. (this is actually done here in Minneapolis with our power company). The intended goal, is to see if there is a center, where the issues are at their greatest (longest power outages), as if there is something intentional or caused by a machine the areas around it would start having severe brown-outs or blackouts, with the effect spreading out in lessening severity throughout the city. What I'm trying to do? Is form a bulls-eye as to where this could be happening.
  16. Sakurako adjusted her suit. "You know... people might be giving us a clue as to the source..." Naomi looked over at Sakurako. "Think about it, guys." Sakurako said. "You have a bunch of bored people with cell phones, probably whining about how their raid got wiped because the power outage dropped their internet, or people plain wondering about the outage. That and the tin-foil hatters saying it's some sort of government plot, but that is beside the point. People will talk about this. On Twitter... Facebook... and guess what they use." "Hashtags." Sakurako smiled. "Also, the power company has on their web page a map showing current power issues and the reports coming in. More than likely there may be one or two brown-out and power surge reports." "So... what I can do using any location tags while looking for a hashtag relating to these constant brown-outs, and cross-referencing with the power company's data, and paying attention to where possible clusters are could give us a 'point A' to work from. All I need is 5 minutes to code, and someone to hold an umbrella over me and my laptop."
  17. Chat is down, it says "Chat Key has Expired".
  18. Sakurako's posture loosened. "I don't know who she is? Of course I do. She's the usual afternoon clerk at the game shop I frequent. She came to me knowing about me and my family. So... I had to see how far this rabbit hole went, you know? Then again it seems you're in a bit of a bind yourself, my friend. These Circus Maximus guys seem very... insistent on getting you back." "You know there's two corps in town that could use cybernetic and genetic research. Biotech is the big thing these days. At least in terms of being trustworthy. And that is Hino Technologies which just opened a firm here in Freedom City, and Archetech which is building a pretty substantial presence itself." "If you need protection from Circus Maximus, I'm sure either corp can assist. On my end my parents might be able to help, at least temporarily until a better protection can be found for you." Sakurako started to feel the clammy, humid nature of the sewers... as well as the smell. "And if it's all good for you, I'm going to reactivate my suit... I hate sewers. The suit's unarmed and is just environmental protection." She presses a button on her wrist and the suit tightens back to her and the helmet reforms again, and the suit puffs out slightly as the life support comes online. "There... gonna remember that smell for a while."
  19. If I can get Seahawk done and approved in a few days would you want an immortal, badguy whuppin' test pilot?
  20. Sakurako raised her hands up after holstering her EM Wand. "I'm Sakurako Hino, Callsign Endeavor. I'm not here to arrest anyone. In fact... I may be able to help your situation, if you are willing to hear me out after you talk to Hannah here." She said, keeping as calm as she could. "Trust me, your boobytraps and drones are not necessary." She said, opening the helmet of her suit again, and taking off the respirator before shutting down the suit's systems, making it like she was wearing a suddenly baggy drysuit. "My suit can counteract the agents you used for your paralysis serum... and a rather fascinating one at that." "But this really isn't about me, sir, it's about Hannah." She said, looking genuinely concerned... almost begging. "Please... hear us out."
