  1. "Oh hey Casey!" Sakurako said, helping Naomi out. "I guess the growing masses here under the tree is getting your attention too, huh?" She said, seeing Haruko was there too. "Well... didn't think I'd see her here too." There was a sudden quiet between the two... more hesitance than any actual issue. "So yeah... we're all here. Any ideas? Have these outages been city wide? I know my Mom and Dad told me there was a flicker over at their marina where our Yacht's kept... which in this weather I wouldn't be surprised it'd happen again." She scratched her head. "So..." She sighed. "Any ideas? I got all night, and my project is a dead goose. I am bored with a capital B."
  2. She turned to Naomi, offering her rain cape. "Crap, Naomi! You're hard to recognize in the dark. You came out rather quick... no time for a raincoat?" She said, flopping it over her head. Naomi could put it on rather quickly with the way Sakurako did that. "You can keep it till we meet up again. I'm waterproof now." She said patting her suit's leg. "Sara doesn't have my Twitter account yet, Portia. I just noticed all the students under the natural lightning rod here and came in to make sure there wasn't a medical emergency on top of having to start at square one for the spaceworthy version of my omnifoam project." Sakurako was getting flustered again thinking about the project's failure. She scratched her head. "See, I've been trying to have some sort of simulant of photosynthesis as part of the design, where when activated in space it would make a bubble of breathable air, at least for ten minutes while you activate some sort of rebreathing device or oxygen creation device. I'm still trying to figure a way the omnifoam could regulate it's own internal pressure when deployed, but that went out the window with the latest power failure." Sighing she stretched out. "Freedom Cadets, huh?" She eyed Portia as she stretched. "Think the upperclassmen would allow it?"
  3. Can Endeavor come camping with everyone? *Gives sad puppy-dog eyes*
  4. Sakurako manages to change her clothes into her suit and puts her mission vest on while she got herself situated. "You know... maybe I should just get ready for the SAR calls that'll inevitably come up from this storm. Some fool's gotta boat in this weather." She said, sighing, slipping a little earpiece with something she could use to monitor citizen's band radio transmissions. "At the very least I'd have something to do, my project is a complete loss after that last outage." Shaking her head she leaned up against the tree everyone was huddled under. "Anyone wanna borrow my rain cape?" She said, showing off her pink raincape was reversible with a black side. "I know pink might not be everyone's thing."
  5. Well, as the Incursion will probably freeze any other new threads, I would have been interested but it looks like we're going to be stuck in the Incursion until it's played out.
  6. Going to be spotty in availability for posting from Monday to Friday this week, should be stable though after that.
  7. "Hmm... I'm starting to think having my suit in these colors was a bad idea..." Sakurako said, switching the colors of her suit to the Claremont colors and pattern, her mission vest turning gold. "Although the gold on the suit is rather high-visibility anyways... although I'm sure in certain situations switching to my usual high-visibility suit color scheme and pattern would be wiser." She smiled, as the sailor collar turned Claremont blue with a gold stripe. "There we go. Now I'm in uniform." She looked over her suit for a moment. "If only I could figure a way to make this do more complex patterns... I could make a visually obscuring set-up... sometimes it pays not to be seen..." "Hmm... someday..." She said, massaging her chin. She decides to switch her suit back to her default colors. "You know, maybe as the Claremont uniform is easy to take off and put on, I might just wear it as something to have under my suit."
  8. Sakurako nodded. "I took the name Endeavor as it is what I try to do in all things. It sure as heck beats "Uncanny Genius Sailor Sakurako" as some of the Japanese press were calling me." She said with a laugh. She continued eating. "Then again..." She adjusted her sailor collar. "...I guess they go based on your costume, I wager." "I hope I'm not bragging or anything. I'm, well I'm out of my element here. I think that is why I was sent here, maybe to learn how to better interact with people. Although I do have to ask... is this good for a first try, for a suit, everyone?" She was proud of her design, although it's concept was built more to her needs in being safe than any aesthetics.
  9. "My cover's blown to Jupiter at this point." Sakurako mournfully said. "Happens when you're saving people from tsunami wreckage and the local media is all over you. Might have been just a blip stateside, but I would be just a Google search away." "Then again there is a trust-able face that can work to our team's advantage, too. Although... I'm not much of a spokesperson, I just know when to keep my mouth shut." She blushed. "It's just what I gotta say that needs the polishing." "It's pretty hard to wear a mask with this suit so... I've had to just accept the fact that Sakurako and Endeavor are the same person. Might have to just legally change my name at some point just to illustrate that fact." Putting her head in her hands, it was obvious she was lost in thought. "People sound so much cooler when they take on a single name. Sting... Bono..."
  10. Sakurako cursed her luck as she put on her pink raincape on over her labcoat and school uniform she had from her days in Tokyo. She was still adapting to the western way of doing things in terms of dress-code, and her usual more casual clothing was in the wash. She took the backpack she stored her exploration suit in and put it on before slipping into her rain gear as she went outside. She was heading outside to investigate if the electrical wires were in place. If something seemed out of place, she could report it to the grounds-keeping crew. Usually this would be outside protocol, but an important project was destroyed by this anomaly. Shining the light she could generate from her EM wand, everything looked okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. "Well that was inconvenient.... my Omnifoam project got pushed back to square one with that last outage... and nothing is amiss..." She sighed in frustration. Walking slowly back, she listened to the white noise of the rain hitting the pavement. "I do love the rain though." Then she noticed the group huddled under the largest tree in the gardens... She started to run over, hovering at the edge of the tree's canope. "Oi! There's a lightning storm goin' on and you people are under a darned lightning rod! Supers or not that hurts!" Sighing, she decides if people were going to be wreckless... She adjusts a few dials on her EM wand and activates it, setting it against the tree. "At least that will keep any circuit from completing between the ground and the thunderstorm overhead." She confidently enters under the protection of the tree. "So what brings everyone here?" She sets her backpack down and starts to rummage.
  11. Endeavor here. Ready for action! Also is it okay for Endeavor to use her EM wand to make sure that a circuit doesn't complete between the ground and the clouds to cause a lightning strike? After all it is dangerous to be under a tree in a lightning storm. All I'm going to do is change the polarity of the ions in the area, to make a "lightning free zone" for all of us. Would this require a Hero point as well? I just wanna know before I make this post like I am. Otherwise Saku's not going under that tree unless someone pulls her in. Addendum: Had my question answered, thanks EP!
  12. Sakurako smiled, pulling out her EM wand again. "There is a reason why my shelving is ferrous. I can move anything with this as long as it can be moved by magnetism." She blushed. "Although it doesn't work on wood..." She saw the momentary friction between Casey and Errant... "Pardon for the intrusion, but it seems there is a little bit of... apprehension between you two... anything you wanna talk about? Sometimes a middle-woman can help straighten things out." There was an earnest look of wanting to help. She was just as willing to hear a No as a Yes, knowing situations like this when they're to be dropped... to be dropped. "If not... it's cool. I just wanna see my classmates are slogging through this crazy life in relative peace." She looked at the others. "I'm sure as a team we would work well, at least... if we take up Vonnie's offer for a patrol... I think though that trust is an important resource..." There she goes, sounding like her mom...
  13. "Sub-basements? Go on..." Sakurako was genuinely curious at this point. Having a mystery dropped into her lap was definitely the best bait for her. "To be honest, I'd love to see what you guys do when the capes are on... or in my case, suit." She started to eat, in small portions. "You know, having some gym time would do me wonders. I'm still trying to keep up with my folks on a lot of different things. Luckily I got my Claremont suit in my bag too... looks good for when wearing this suit is a bit much for more normal school functions in the sub-basements... if that is where the fun really happens. Then again I'm known to ramble endlessly too, I think. More so when I'm bored. You guys got a workshop here?"
  14. Could Sakurako/Endeavor get swept up in this? This sounds like my jam.
  15. Sakurako's stomach started to grumble, seeing the newcomer's meal. Turning her consternation into a palatable sound. "That's some pretty sharp Japanese there, Casey. It's coming along... I had to learn it myself. Yeah, the girl from Japan needing to learn Japanese... I come from lots of different places." And her last remark was apparent with her notably Londoner accent to her English. It was obvious her formative years were probably in the UK, not the US or Japan... She was probably quite cosmopolitan. Holding out her hand for an offered handshake she smiled as with her other hand she opened her helmet... which was more the suit re-absorbing it's nanites and graphene. "Sakurako Hino. Not sure if you guys operate with call-signs yet, but I've preferred Endeavor over my usual." She adjusts her suit. "I think what we can do then is just select what we want as we get hungry, guys... would be rude to bail on Casey, after all." After accepting Casey's hands for a moment, Sakurako hovers off, collecting her meal, and returning. Opting for a salad, something from the vegetarian menu, and strangely enough a plate of spaghetti with real meatballs as well...
  16. Suggestion: A well trained gang of corporate espionage hits a corporate headquarters our characters are visiting on a "vocational fieldtrip". There would be lots for everyone to do, and would be a good starter for a crisis situation (as these guys aren't above taking hostages and what-not to get away).
  17. Sakurako sighed. "Well... that changes things." Sakurako said, sitting down at her chair again, wondering exactly what to do now... unless someone else at the table had an idea. "So... any other bright ideas, guys?" She shook her head. "I honestly got nothing better to do with my day for a while... what sort of super-stuff does this place have? I've not been acquainted with the full facility. All I got is the stuff the public knows about the Academy." "Either that, or at the very least we can tap into whatever sort of amenities are outside of the academy, at least until it gets late enough were getting ready for my classes tomorrow is an issue."
  18. Sakurako looked over at Vonnie. "I was on the front lines of the rescue and relief effort after the East Japan Earthquake. Didn't even have my suit I got now at the time, had to borrow my Mom's first suit when she was a sidekick. The wisecracks of "The Schoolgirl Supergenius" I didn't mind. What I had to see... Well I'm sorted now but it was heavy." She sighed as she stood up. "I think that qualifies for not being a "virgin", Vonnie." She said, turning to Haruko. "Although I wouldn't mind accompanying you two on a patrol nonetheless. I'm fully trained for first response. Thank you for the invitation, I'm accepting it." She said with a smile. "So Haruko... Ramen... Hopefully it's not from a package, huh?" She decided to take her mission vest off, setting it on her chair. It sort of thumped on the seat, obviously well loaded. "Be right back." Sakurako said. Seemingly unaware how strange she was dressed compared to everyone else.
  19. "Oh, hey!" Sakurako said. "He met up with us earlier in the foyer!" Sakurako said, smiling. What if he thinks my suit's weird... Something about how Errant regarded everyone made her feel like she was being dissected. It made her feel very self-conscious. "I... I... hmm..." Sakurako choked on her words for a moment. "I.. I know, everyone? Is there anything you guys want to eat? I can go get it for you... after all, I'm the newbie here." She blushed. She hadn't dealt with supers like her at the other schools she's been to... although it saddened her there wasn't any geniuses she could really talk to. But there was something about Haruko... "You want something, Haruko?"
