  1. GM The Painted Desert, Arizona October 4th, 2020 10:00 AM "Sorry kids, grandpa wasn't kidding about this desert being hell during storms." Blue Squad had been told that they would be going on a field trip to Arizona, to the painted desert, to meet up with a Doctor Macedon for a survival class. Leon might have heard about his friends' trip the year before, and how the aging Doctor Macedon had decided to swear off any and all future field trips after yet another trip to the past through the Magic Mesa, but maybe this time would be different? The whole thing had started out pretty well. Doctor Alexandra Macedon had picked Blue Squad up at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with an off-road van with enough space for the entire crew, their luggage and Danica's ride. It turned out she was the previous doctor Macedon's granddaughter, and she had been more than happy to take up the task of leading another squad on a survival class. They had reached their dropoff point and then proceeded out into the desert. A few hours later, a sandstorm had started kicking up, slowly growing in strength and intensity. "We gotta find shelter! Anybody see anything?" Doctor Macedon's long brown hair was kicking around her in the wind already, while she fought to keep her stetson secure on her head. Up ahead, the group could see a mountain that just so happened to have a cave.
  2. GM An afternoon in the middle of July, 2021 Claremont Academy For whatever reasons, a group of students had arrived early at Claremont this year, before the classes were even about to start. They came from very different lives, and had very different powers, but for whichever reasons, they were to stay at Claremont, along with a few others, during the summer months. And, despite the summer vacation, they needed someone to show them around, and that job had fallen to Luke and Leon. They had probably complained, but headmistress Summers had promptly shut them down by reminding them about some of their misbehaviour during the past school year. They four new students, Onyx, Effigy, Invisigirl and Freedom Eagle were all ready in normal clothes, waiting for Nightscale and Paper to show them around.
  3. OOC for this. @Nerdzul, @Spacefurry: Feel free to move to the simulator and set up an area, then I'll come up with some bad guys for that. And everyone roll some initiative.
  4. GM January 12th, 2022, 4:30 PM Bayview, not too far from Claremont Academy The doors to a bank exploded outwards, smoke pouring out into the street, quickly followed by four people in respectively red, yellow, blue and green suits with chaotic white triangle patterns rushing out of the building at great speed, all carrying heavy back. "Come on!" the man in green yelled, waving for the others to follow. "Let's go!" The women in blue and yellow and the man in red all seemed to agree, and they all started running down the street, while behind them, people started moving out of the bank, coughing through the smoke. But, as luck would have it, these dastardly villains were not alone on the street, and they would soon be met with the awesome might of heroes-in-training!
  5. OOC for this. @MoonSimply @Nerdzul @Spacefurry Alright, let's start off with an intro post from each of you, then give me some initiative rolls and we'll go straight to the fighting! @MoonSimply: Use Orokos or another online dice roller that stores your results and make a roll for 1d20+you initiative bonus, and give me the result and a link to it here.
  6. GM Afternoon, September 25th Millennium Mall, Midtown Freedom City It was raining, hard. Like so many other teens, young adults and older, Muirne, Luke, Leon and Charlie had found their way to Millennium Mall to have something to do now that classes were out for the week. Something somewhere dry, hopefully. Bernadette, for her part, happened to be in the mall at the same time. Maybe just a single her, maybe several, or maybe it all depended on the moment. As one would expect on a day like this, the mall was absolutely packed. People everywhere, in stores, in the food court, well... everywhere. The PA system routinely mentioned events like clean up to the toilets on the 2nd floor, a missing child near a toy store, lost phones and the like.
  7. Fall 2021 It was a nice fall day, cool and crisp, the sort of day where you can still go outside but you should wear sweaters to do it. Leon and Luke had taken their lunch period outside under the fiercely blue sky of a cool autumn day when suddenly a large black raven descended from the sky and landed between them. "Fellows!" it declared in what was clearly Owain's voice, booming out as clearly as if he was with them in human flesh. "Have you see my friend Neko?" (There had been no sign of Claremont's cat girl that morning, not that the boys had spotted anyway.)
  8. GM April 2nd 2021, 11:30 An abandoned warehouse in Kingston The music was loud. The beat was good, people were having fun, with the music blaring through the empty warehouse in Kingston. Things were slowly starting to return to normal after the Terminus Invasion. At least normal enough that plenty of people were feeling brave enough to get to the abandoned areas near the Doomforge to take over the buildings for underground parties. Like the one that Luke Landers and Leon Moore found themselves at. The music was loud. The party was fun.
  9. November 3, 2021. Claremont Academy. Diana Falk Cafeteria. Queenie Maybelle McQueen had not been assigned a specific student for Mentorship Day. She’d signed up, that much was true. But in a reversal of how things normally worked, there were too many heroes for the job. Instead, the Headmistress had asked if Queenie could cater the event instead, and she was more than happy to. So here she was in the cafeteria. The equipment was…adequate, but all in all Maybelle was very happy she’d premade what she could. Word quickly got out that the food in the cafeteria was really good today, and soon the entire student body was finding an excuse to swing through. Not all at once, naturally, but enough to keep the ring slinging chef busy as a bee.

    Team Talk

Millenium Mall A summer afternoon in 2021 Charlie had learned a lot during his first year at Claremont. Time travel, juggling life with the rest of the Raven Family and life at the academy, and of course his own unstable little group that he had got together to deal with Casanova and his crew. Last time they'd met? Cas had tried to brainwash Muirne. Something had to be done about it, and well... not like the rest of his friends knew of his relationship with the headmistress. Charlie, Muirne, Leon and Luke were at the Millenium Mall, at a burger joint, sitting around a table. Just hanging out, talking. He hadn't been able to get a hold of everyone, but this should be fine, right? Lowering his burger after a bite, he finally asked the question he'd wanted to ask. "So... y'know that whole New Young Freedom thing that Casanova's got going? How about we start our own team?"

Kord Dormitories, First Floor Claremont Academy, Freedom City, New Jersey Saturday, September 4, 2021 Like the rest of the dormitories at Claremont Academy, the first floor of the Rita Kord Dormitory was a scene of somewhat controlled chaos. Classes were set to start early next week after Labor Day, so the dorms had opened up this weekend for new and returning students to get moved in.
  13. GM Rodney, Suburb of Freedom City Thursday, 13th of May 2021 11:30 AM Once, Rodney was a peaceful town, known best for its fantastic sandwiches and its beautiful bells that rang out the hours. Once, Rodney was a free town, with people going about their daily business, children going to their schools, and the occasional tourist coming to visit the historic churches and official buildings. Once, Rodney was an ordinary town, with fine, law-abiding people and a gentle pace of daily life. Once, all of these things were true, but no longer. A week ago, a man with dark rock skin streaked with gold led a group of armed criminals into. Working together, they took the mayor and the rest of the city council hostage, and the leader, who called himself Ex-Prisoner sealed all the police who resisted his authority in stalagmites of pure obsidian. Since then, he and his gang have begun ruling the streets by night, even pulling in a few of the more corrupt cops as they rampage through the streets. The rare few reporters who managed to get word out of the town were swiftly hunted down and captured - or perhaps even killed. No one seems to know. Rodney needs heroes, desperately. Fortunately for the town, it is right outside Freedom City, home to one of the greatest concentrations of superheroes on Earth. Okay, @Kaede Kimura, @Lone_Star, @Spacefurry, let me know how your characters have heard about Rodney's situation, how they've met up, and so on.

  15. January 2021 Claremont Academy Shortly after Pan dragged Leon away from Judy... "Why exactly are you here?" Pan had finally stopped under a tree, turning to face Leon, his arms crossed over his chest. "What are you trying to do? Be the one that everyone will hate or watch? Do you steal and cheat because you can? Take from whoever you want, just because it is fun?"

    Fury Road

GM The Neighborhood Bodega near Claremont Academy February 1st, 2021 Afternoon, after classes had ended It was time for some of the newer students to take a trip to the neighborhood bodega. Danica thought so, at least. She had rounded up Luke, Leon and Muirne and off they went for cheap junk food! The weather was quite nice, if a bit chilly. It had started snowing a few hours earlier, and was still going, but the snowfall was light and inobtrusive. The group was just exiting the bodega with their bounty in hand when a strange wind blew through the street. It was warm, cutting a path through the falling snow, with a strong smell of ozone and rust along as it went. In a flash, an armored vehicle appeared, driving through the tunnel in the snowfall at full speed, tearing down the road. It was not alone. Seconds later, a pair of Omegadrones appeared in the same manner, flying straight after the vehicle.
  17. The students were in the gym, getting in a little free time after classes before supper. Leon had just come down off the rock wall, his feet safe on the mat, when he heard the voice call out. "Think fast!" When he turned around, there was a volleyball whipping towards his face so fast it seemed to blur - and then abruptly vanished into nothingness inches before it might have struck. "Hah!" The speaker was Eira Katastroff, hands on her hips and looking pleased. "You are fast," she said cheerfully as she approached Leon. Leon had seen the blue-haired Swede lifting weights earlier, but she showed not a hint of sweat on her pale skin, her blue and gold leotard just visible under her fully-zipped Claremont outdoor jacket. She was about to say more when she was approached by Mr. Kuzkin, the elderly drama teacher having volunteered to monitor the evening workout routine, who firmly informed her that dangerous pranks were strictly forbidden in gym class, while Eira shot back that a silly hologram could hardly have actually hurt him, and...
  18. Claremont, Bayville, Freedom City October 31st, 2020 Just before Sunset Halloween was always a fun time at Claremont those that weren’t taking the younger kid trick or treating had a party or movie marathon planned for the evening. A few even had a quiet night by either themselves or a partner. Unfortunately you three you’re still stuck waiting for an audience, for either good or bad, with headmistress. It seems that for some reason everyone was a little more snippy and irritable than normal and a the place had been busy with various students with injuries only available at a school for powered individuals. Still at whilst a little late the last three of you were about to get to meet the dread headmistress and after that they’d be home free, its not like it could get any worse after all...
  19. The Wreck Room. Claremont Academy. Bayview, Freedom City. September 21, 2020. Hinako Fujimori looked over the assembled Violet Squad. Three Seniors, two Sophmores. Though two of the Seniors had missed significant time. The substitute teacher was of Japanese descent, and wearing a pretty stylish red tracksuit with white accents. She seemed perhaps a little young to be a teacher, but not overly so. “Konnichiwa! Watashi wa Fujimori Hinako desu ka.” Then she blinked and smiled apologetically. “Ah, gomen gomen.” She cleared her throat. “Don’t speak English too much at home. Started in default mode. Sorry about that. What I said was, hello! I’m Hinako Fujimori. I’ll be your Physical Education teacher for today. Now let’s see.” She flipped through her phone and found what she was looking for. “Oh, this’ll be fun.” She put her phone away. “So, today’s exercise is a unique one. What we’re going to do is pit two of you against another two in a timed event. Two of you will be playing ‘villain’ with a fake bomb on the second floor of a building. Two more will be playing the ‘heroes’. Lulu?” She looked at the five pointedly until Lulu identified herself. “Oh, good. They did not give me pictures of you guys, so please be patient with me there. You, Lulu, will decide who is on which team and their strategies. The other students will have input, of course, but the final decision is yours. This is both lesson and test. So…good luck and any questions?”
  20. OOC for this. Let's see... @Heritage , @Brown Dynamite, @Spacefurry the thread is here.
  21. April 7th, 11.46AM, 2020 Claremont Academy, Main Quad "...and this is where I leave you, I guess." Det. Janice Renchy had the tired, bleary look of anyone who worked at night who had to be up in the middle of the day. Rubbing at one eye with the heel of her palm, Leon's voucher squinted around the stately, old-fashioned school square. "Dunno how you're not coming out of here with a load of debt. Anyway, I'm sure you'll do great, Leo. Take care of yourself, you got my number if it can do you any good." Smiling a little, she offered the boy a handshake. She looked hard at Leon's face "You're good here?" Unbeknownst to the unlikely duo, there was another new arrival, just out of sight...and very much out of time.
  22. Leon Moore / Paper To Do List... HellQ 20Q Origin
  23. Paper Power Level: 12, but built as 10 (187/215PP) Unspent Power Points: 28PP Trade-Offs: None In Brief: Reformed juvenile criminal with the power to control and shape paper, still has a slight authority problem Catchphrase: None Theme: ‘The Anthem’ by Good Charlotte Alternate Identity: Leon Moore (Secret) Birthplace: Seattle, WA Residence: Claremont Academy Base of Operations: Claremont Academy Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: Foster brother and sister Description: Age: 19 (DoB: March 19, 2004) Apparent Age: 19 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' 10" Weight: 180 lbs. Eyes: Grey Hair: Black Description: Black hair, cut short and brushed back except for a few bangs that won't cooperate. Leon keeps himself in shape, and trains to keep his agility. He likes to dress casually in his free time, anime/cartoon themed t-shirts and jeans usually. His ‘costume’ use to typically consists of a black short sleeved shirt with red trim, blue jeans and sneakers. He has though agreed to a change of colors to reflect the school’s colors. This is easy for him since his ‘costume’ is usually made of paper made to look and act like regular clothing. This is accompanied by a slim, black backpack with a few various books in it at any time, along with some personal items. Several small black pockets on straps around arms (1 on each), thighs (2 on each) and 2 each hip of his belt. Each pocket is large enough to hold a deck of index cards. Hanging on back of the belt is a case that holds 2 large rolls of paper about the width of receipt tape and hundreds of yards long. History: Born in Seattle to a teen mother, she moved to Freedom City when he was still young with her then boyfriend. When Leon began to show signs of not being ‘normal’ the man abandoned them. His mother felt she could not take care of a ‘special’ child and surrendered him to the foster system without telling them of his ‘nature’. Shortly there after she returned to family in Seattle. Leon has not had any contact with her since. In the system since age 8, Leon was moved from home to home several times, unable to settle, acting up, and trying to run away. At first, he blamed his powers for his mother abandoning him. When he was 11 he landed in the same foster house as two other children hiding their powers. With their help he accepted his powers and embraced them. The three agreed that they could only rely on each other and swore to always be there for the each other. Believing the system was a failure and that no one else could or would see them as more then either a burden or a paycheck, the three ran away together and turned to small crimes to do what they thought they needed to survive. At the age of 16, Leon wanted to prove to his brother and sister that he could work solo; he broke into the Freedom City Museum to attempt to steal something. Before he could secure his prize an explosion rocked the building. In the resulting confusion a FCPD detective that was in the building entered the showroom Leon was in. A second, smaller explosion struck and part of the building collapsed inward. Without thinking, he moved to protect the detective with a shield of paper over them both, but he wasn’t fast enough and Leon was knocked out. After the events at the museum Leon was hospitalized. He woke days later to find he had lost his left arm mid-bicep, but thanks to his quick reaction the detective had escaped with only minor injuries. During the hearing that followed, the court gave special considerations for his selfless actions and young age, while he would not turn evidence against his siblings, a deal was reached. A representative from Claremont Academy had petitioned on his behalf and Leon agreed to attend the private school under probation. If, and when, Leon successfully graduates from Claremont he would be given a clean slate with the courts and his juvenile records will be sealed. At first he was rebellious and troublesome, but teachers quickly saw the seeds for a good kid buried under the anger of a rough life. In the time he has attended Claremont, Leon has grown in both power and sense of responsibility, although he would never admit to the latter himself. He hasn’t disclosed it to anyone yet, but relations with his brother and sister have become strained and he can’t understand why. Personality & Motivation: Leon has always been a bit of a show off. He was also the most ‘energetic’ of his trio of foster siblings. Not bad kids by nature, they simply felt let down and abandon by an over taxed system. Although feeling they had to do what they had to, to survive, none of them ever wanted to hurt anyone. Leon would never give up his siblings, and would never turn his back on them. He isn’t likely to trust anyone quickly, and even if he does, he would just be waiting for the other shoe to drop. If asked why he saved the officer he just shrugs and dismisses it as an act of stupidity on his part, not willing to admit he couldn’t stand to see someone get hurt. Power Descriptions: Leon can control and manipulate paper, altering its shape and strength at his will. He can make paper stronger than metal and sharper than any normal blade. He can make it solid enough to resist liquids and gas. He can even have it resist heat and fire to a point. It can easily protect from an explosion with little harm to the paper, but repeated or continued exposure could eat away at the paper eventually. Shaping it, he can create nearly anything from simple weapons and gear to clothing and simple golems. Many pieces of smaller papers can be melded into a single, seamless construction and when done with them the constructs fall apart into their original pieces, or what’s left of them. Aside from his power over paper, or perhaps more because of it, Leon has taught himself how to use simple weapons. These would cover most blades, clubs/maces, spears/staves, bows and arrows, and throwing objects. All things he can easily create with paper. Skill wise, Leon is quick and agile from practicing often. He is not overly strong, equal to anyone his size that works out every so often. He has also developed a firm sense of balance. Complications: And I don’t give a damn about my bad reputation: Reputation: Leon and his foster siblings have records with the juvenile courts, and he doesn’t care if others know. Being predisposed to thinking that, in the end, everyone is looking out for themselves. It’s just a flesh wound: Disability: Leon lost his left arm not long ago during a robbery attempt. During the robbery Leon and a rookie officer were caught in a building collapse, he protected the officer, but his arm was crushed mid bicep. Leon uses his powers to create and maintain a paper arm that looks real enough.
