Ulysses is quite taken by suprise when the ground breaks beneath him and roots surge forth like writhing tentacles, grasping and thrashing at him and seemingly everyone else in the immediate vicinity but he does not let that stop him from nimbly twisting out of the way of them as he hurtles along at full steam, though it presents to him a new problem entirely; hostages, deciding to divert his course he make a sharp turn, stumbling a little from the abruptness of it all and the displaced ground beneath him but managing to remain on his feet he charges headlong into the thick of the forrest brings his palms to bear on the bases of the roots around him, hoping that the thicker wood and further distance form their captives would keep the worst of the impacts away from their captives, splitting and shattering the wood. "Trees that don't bend, Break." he mumbles to himself, leaving quite a hefty plume of steam and churned earth in his wake.

Note: An alternate version of moon-moth; in which he died in the praetorians last stand against the incursion, having prepared for such an eventuality his soul transferred into a specially prepared mask, ignored by the curator he spent the two millennia in Isolation upon the devotion, discovered by his friends and later bestowed upon a worthy successor. Helm of Fate/Majora's mask mashup, he's attached to a generic host i imagine potentially a lor or human, though the bulk of the power resides within the mask he's begun to teach them the easier spells at his disposal, i imagine that soon enough they'll be a sorcerer in their own right and the mask will return to praetorian keeping until its needed again.
  6. Ulysses hums ponderously to himself as he turns over foresights information "So these Jedi are known for this?" he asks finally as he turns to foreshadow once more "a cult or something? I thought it seemed pretty ritualistic, burnt offerings and a knifing." he offers "that or some kind of punishment." he adds thoughtfully as he turns it over "eitherway they're extremist." he adds "odds are they're crowing about it to themselves, so proud of what they did for Jedi-Jesus or whatever they believe in." he says with edged distaste. "probably set the fire to grab attention to it and whoever else died was guilty by association."
  7. Ulysses Alexander cross, Train engineer and Host to the spirit of industry; Rolling thunder on the road to tomorrow. History Born in 1950 in a small house in London, Alexander cross, son of Julia and Gordon Cross, Lived a fairly uneventful childhood, It was not until he was a young man that he first discovered the great love of his life, the Mighty Iron horses of the rails and applied for work as a driver and engineer; a task he happily dedicated most of his adult life too, even moving to america and the famed freedom city to pursue america's famed routes and follow a rapidly dwindling career to its last bastion; It was here that he would become engineer upon a pacific bigboy affectionately nicknamed "Ulysses" for its long route was rather less affectionately referred to as "the odyssey." It was on the eve of his eventual (and forced) retirement that his powers manifested, sending him hurtling forwards in time, disorientated and confused by the world beyond the now ruined rail yard he was initially reluctant to leave the confines of his place of work until he was driven by a powerful urge (that he would later learn was his mysterious benefactor, the spirit of industry.) to press on with his life, securing himself a job as a night guard in the museum of science and industry, modest accommodations and in general began to take back his life. as fate would have it however it was not to last, finding himself consumed with great wanderlust and enormous amounts of time on his hands he did what came naturally and travelled. at first within the state, then to nearby states and eventually other countries, occasionally managing to prevent some disaster or defeat some villain in the process, it was quite a suprise for him then when he made his first involuntary hop across the dimensions and found himself (and others) stranded in what he would later learn as Earth-Victoria and became involved with the ministry of powers back in his homeland once more making the journey across the Atlantic to chase his destiny. Powers Ulysses powers are based upon industry, mostly manifesting as enhanced strength, speed and toughness, though he has been known to issue forth scalding steam from his mouth and travel through time and dimensions (albeit involuntarily so far.) the spirit of industry itself has far vaster options and readily uses more exotic (and less humane) options. Allies Ulysses is a member of the United kingdom superhero team "The Vanguard." and is affiliated with its other members, the ministry of powers itself and by extension the United kingdoms national government.

His face remains the utter depiction of calm as the ghostly voice echos through the ships interior through the staticy intercom; though his name and antenna frizz visably s they are known to do when frightened or startled to their usual ridiculous levels. "So....Exorcisms now?." he states rather evenly to sitara and amara, his squeaky voice muffled by the obstructive fluff "I imagines we knowing where is to go; sent commands from brains yes?" he enquires as his pace becomes quicker and that much more rigid as he goes. wings fluttering uneasily on his back and scattering transparent scales along the corridor as he goes.

Lanternians: Race of Biologically immortal lepidopteran humanoids, Small in numbers due to longevity and lack of resources, there penchant for introspection and contemplation upon their colonized moon has lead to a natural affinity for the arcane and scholastic pursuits, with slender but resilient frames designed to survive upon their hostile planet and atmosphere- less moon, though they are born wingless and without body hair they undergo a metamorphosis upon reaching maturity (100 in terran years); oozing a viscous substance from their spiracles that hardens into a cocoon, emerging anywhere from a few days to a week later with the antenna, vestigial wings and mane of fine fur of an adult of a colouration suited to serve as passive camouflage in their environment. (it is traditional for the remains of the cocoon to be broken down into silk and made into a ceremonial robe for the new adult.), They're particularly conductive of thermal and electrical energies.

Moon-moth tensed instinctively as the cold, clammy hand settled on his back, bracing himself for what he knew was to come, his lithe but resilient frame rocked with the involuntary convulsions as the sickly energy of the antibodies touch coursed through him and flooding his being with torment and agony; such pain would've easily broken him once, long ago when he was a boy living in the monestary on the moon but now, he was a praetorian, giving up and dying were luxuries he had long ago forsworn for the sake of others all those years ago in the sacred hall on Delzatri prime. Clenching his mouth tightly and flaring his forcefield ever so slightly he managed to break free of the soulless machines grasp and with a wheeze of effort he turned on the spot forcing his dilated eyes back into focus he instinctively launched another glob of temporally looped silver at the shambling slave, and with trembling fingers attempts to engulf it within, though still slightly numb from his experience and the antibodies own agility find his attempt falling short. he gestures aggressively in lanternian at the monstrosity in battle-blood induced reflex, antenna flicking this way and that in a frenzied lashing motion. <Soulless machine! I will tear you asunder!>
  11. I'd like to try and break some civilians out of the snare if thats possible.
  12. Moon moth will keep on chugging with the snares going for contestant number 2. 1d20+10=29 DC20 Vs reflex And with that ill move towards number 4. so i can coup de grace them next round hopefully. My other snare regenerates at the start of my round too.

  14. DRIVEN OFF THE RAILS BY HGM Update for ulysses complications, dropping polydipsia for Spirit of industry being a bother, also adding effective strength to the sheet and heavy load.

Ulysses remained stoic as he walked with foreshadow, mulling over what he'd heard so far, serial arson, not exactly a common crime, having worked in the cabin of an engine he knew one or two things about fire, and the pain of being burned by it before his empowerment by the amoral industry spirit had filled him with its metaphysical might, the thought of someone who made use of it as a murder weapon, not once but multiple times sickened him. I can't imagine what has to boil in yer brain for such a monstrous method of killing to become yer favourite but maybe ill find out when i knock their block off. it was deeply upsetting to the elderly gentleman; his time hadn't been perfect, true enough but these people had enough problems bothering them without some madman setting fire to their homes, but he was man of principles, he wouldn't let himself get mad Huffing to himself as he fell behind foreshadow a little, his footsteps taking on a rather more pronounced crack to them as they strike the floor and echo through the building, he would get even. "What do yer make of it then doctor" he asks looking to foreshadow for his input as a small trail of vapour leaked from the corners of his mouth as his old body steeled itself for the work to come "Afraid I'm more from the capture and containment area of the ministry mahself."

Jonathan found himself biting his lip as yet again his world span and his helmet clanked loudly under bovverboys blows, frustration welling in his mind from the pain and slight disorientation he is vaguely aware of it when Aldonite Exerts its influence, mind briefly flashing back to that mountaintop in Greenland, to the long dead spectre of feigr iss and the pain of his draining touch, tightening his grip on the sword he lets the cold fury of the memory grip him as he lashes out with the blade clumsily towards his irksome foe, the steel disappearing into a yawning void of swirling snow and ice even as its flat careened towards the side of the infuriating man's head with a snarl and all the hunger of the long dead for warmth and light.
  18. Shaking himself back to his senses. Ulysses springs into action, drawing as much air as he can muster into his lungs and issuing it forth again in a surging cone that sends smaller bits of rubble tumbling away like dust bunnies as it crashes against the mass of drones before him, such was his haste however that his strength; not yet fully returned to him, failed to leverage itself effectively against the mismatched weights of the antibodies and their various augmentations and though one or two teetered none quite fell.. "Huff....Not quite back to full steam yet it would seem."

  20. 1d20+7=22 moon moth refuses to be the squishy mage. and i thought my snare was +10 unless I'm missing something?.not that it'd make much of a difference but i thought i had the power figured out.
  21. ulysses will attempt to make use of his superbreath to trip as many and see if he can slow down the tide any. DC20 reflex save to half the DC. 1d20+10=16 on the trip check.
  22. i think black knight will let the hate flow through him and smack bovverboy with a life drinker. +4/-4 Accurate attack it. 1d20+7=26 DC21 Will save vs getting his soul supped upon by life stealing cold (Courtesy of feigr Iss). its also vampiric but i don't think it applies right now.
