  1. "Mia, thank you so much. You helped a lot. I owe you a hug. If you ever need a favor, just ask. As long as it's nothing bad of course." He gave her a grateful smile, and she could see that he was without hair or eyebrows, and that his eyes were yellow.
  2. Adam held Lulu gently before setting her down. He took a deep breath. He would thank Ashley. He didn't know how, nor when, but he owed her for this. He wanted to hold Lulu until she was okay. He realized that he was never scared of Lulu He was scared for her. What scared him the most was how much he loved her. He wasn't supposed to be falling in love, not at this age. Yet she made him feel worthy of her love and attraction, and those made him love her more. Still, he could do a hell of a lot worse than her.
  3. Adam nodded. "She can't hurt me. I'm here for her as long as she wants me here. I think she'll be okay." He hugged her gently and ignored the glass. "This is a school for kids with powers in the city with the largest concentration of empowered people in the world. Whatever happened, you'll be okay, Lulu."
  4. Speed-Demon consumed his food with an almost comical quickness. It vanished in mere seconds. "I'm in. I got no problem with helping out, but I got limitations. I'm not revealing my real name or anything. Maybe someday, but not yet and never on the public record. As for what I can do, well. I'm fast and I'm fiery. That's all there is to it. I've created a spare email address and I'm gonna make myself available to contact in other ways if I can."
  5. Adam wasn't bothered by the weight of his gear. Nor was he bothered by the heat, or the man. He looked like he had a very interesting story. Adam's inquisitiveness was overridden by his politeness. He wanted to know who this man was and how he got to this point, but he kept his mouth shut. He was looking forward to an opportunity to see this beautiful locale up close, to study it. "I would like to be first, if no one else volunteers, sir." Adam said, a tad too eagerly. He winced at his own enthusiasm.
  6. Adam had peeked in at the room, nodded with an approving smile, and peeked back out just before Davyd landed. He blinked, thought about turning around, and just headed back to where the others were. He hadn't bothered to change. He wondered, briefly, how long he could hold his breath for, but he wasn't sure he wanted to test it. When he heard Lulu say she felt pretty, he bit his tongue. He didn't want to annoy the others with how much of a lovesick teenager he was. However, he agreed with her assessment. One benefit to dating a telepath? He could communicate his compliments without bothering the others. "The accommodations are amazing. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. I'm going to write down everything that happened on this trip and send it to my parents. They'll be delighted." "
  7. He was dog tired. Beyond tired. Exhausted. The most tired he had ever been. Too tired to play his guitar. That was extremely tired for him. He wanted to get home and fall asleep with his cat. Yet, here he was, meeting the mayor. He figured if he was going to do this hero thing, there was no shame in getting noticed by the authorities. He wanted cooperation, not antagonism. Speed-Demon was noticeably tired, but still bright eyed. He smiled through his red eyes in the biggest, brightest smile he could. "I saw so many people helping last night, Ma'am. All those first-responders, all the emergency personnel. Vibora Bay woke up and helped herself in that storm. It was inspiring. I'm not saying I didn't help, but I'm only one man. I'm just happy to have made a difference."
  8. "If you could go downstairs and get some help, that would be amazing. I'm not sure what's going on, but I don't think stressing Lulu out more would be a good idea. Thank you for your help." Adam wasn't sure how Lulu would respond to teleportation, and did not want to find out. Hell, he wasn't sure how he would respond. He was grateful for her offer of help, though.
  9. "I'm her boyfriend." Adam said. "She suddenly manifested telekinetic powers and called for me through her telepathy. I appreciate your concern, but I promise, I'm not attacking her. Look at the room. Do you think I scattered all this stuff?" He did not know this girl well, and had no interest in fighting her. She wasn't physically threatening, but he could only guess at her powers. He also hoped Lulu would wake up to calm things down.
  10. Adam knelt to the floor and sat, letting her rest against him. He sat on her floor, holding her. Her life signs were okay as far as he could tell. He leaned against her bed and just let her rest against him. He was sure that this was what she needed right now. She needed to rest after all this. She felt so light, so fragile in his arms. He reflected on how much he admired and appreciated her there, and how he was going to make sure she was okay.
  11. Adam rushed forward. He was uniquely qualified for this sort of thing, as these small objects were unlikely to do anything more than bother him. He rushed and wrapped his arms gently around her. "I'm here, Lulu. I'm here." He ignored the objects in the room and just held her gently. He wasn't trying to restrain her, he was trying to comfort her. "You're okay, Lulu. You're okay. I'm here. I'm sure you're far from the only psychic who's powers manifested in a new way." He was trying to avoid sounding as worried as he was. He grasped at straws and hoped that if she calmed down, her powers would too. Lulu had been amazing for him. She had been compassionate, understanding and warm to him. She needed him, and he was here. He was going to help her if he could.
  12. Adam got dressed quickly, or rather, mostly dressed. He was as quiet as he could be, entering Lulu's room while wearing a half-buttoned shirt and a pair of pajama bottoms. "Lulu, what's wrong?" He said, stumbling in. He was trying to whisper as much as he could. "What's happened?" He had a worried look on his face, which was notably lacking his prosthetics or makeup. "
  13. Adam had only just drifted off to sleep. Her sudden telepathic communication woke him immediately. He had just finished reading and set his tablet down, had just drifted off to sleep. The temptation to stay in constant communication was always there. Frankly, their near constant communication never felt like an intrusion. Rather, it felt comforting. His parents were a little...disturbed to hear it, but assured him that if they could put up with each other pretty much constantly, it was likely a good sign. "OH! Uh, hey, what's up Lulu? What happened? Are you okay?"
  14. Speed-Demon was riding the high of his first big superhero outing. He didn't care that much about discretion, and he knew there were dozens of pictures of him. That suited him fine. He felt like he did a lot of good. He was beyond exhausted and planned to practically drop into a coma by the time he was done, but he was good for now. He knew a lot of people were hurt and a lot of property was destroyed, but he made a difference.
  15. "Oh, God." Speed-Demon staggered back when he saw the corpse. He had been running beside the group, letting his own two feet guide him. "Um, does somebody wanna check him for ID? 'Cause I don't think we're gonna find anything about who did this. Not in this storm..." He was a bit reluctant to do it himself. "This is unnerving as hell, honestly." He looked over at the others. "I say we figure out who this guy is, put his wallet on his corpse, and drop him off at the morgue. If the person who did this was able to find out who we're going after and leave him for us to find, what are the odds we're gonna find him in a storm?"
  16. Adam was grateful for Ben's utter lack of subtlety. It made it a lot easier for him to sneak his massive frame into the room. He didn't like being stared at, and some people still did. He was wearing his prosthetics and his wig, but he was still huge and felt out of place. He knew Lulu was right behind him, and for that, he was grateful. She made him feel better wherever he was. He considered her the most attractive woman he had ever met, and if she liked him, he really couldn't be a monster, could he? Aquaria Innsmouth was also a 'monster'. He had heard things, but he felt like he needed to be fair. He was really interested in what she had to say. Still, he kept his mouth shut, found a seat, and waited for Lulu.
  17. Specimen is willing to give it a shot. He doesn't have a problem with keeping himself steady, though.
  18. Adam chuckled. "Lulu is amazing, but I'm not ready for marriage. At least not yet." He had to admit, spending his life with Lulu definitely had an appeal, but he knew that he had to be smart about things. He didn't know what Leroy was thinking, but he knew what Ashley was thinking. He couldn't blame her, either. Engagement at seventeen was insane. He had a new roommate, and he felt like he should introduce himself. ""I'm gonna go find my new roommate and introduce myself." He said, excusing himself politely.
  19. "You're probably right." Speed-Demon said, taking a moment to catch his breath. "I don't know anything about magic, but we gotta make sure someone doesn't make another one of those things. We cannot afford another one of those." He looked around. "Anybody got a plan?" He was not the guy with the plan. He was the guy who hit things quickly and maybe helped people. He didn't know anything about magic at all, just that his powers were magical in nature. The spirit inside him wasn't helping, either. He wasn't sure if it could.
  20. Speed-Demon is going to burn his HP to recover from fatigue before we head off and do anything else.
  21. Steam rose from Speed-Demon's body as he called on reserves of power he had not yet touched. The spirit within him was calling for carnage, to tear this creature apart. So, he answered. He sped forward, a burning orange trail in the rain, the steam followed behind him as he approached the creature. Before it could even twitch, he dug two burning fists into it's undead skull. The heat was intense enough to char away flesh and bone instantaneously. He began to slam his fists into the monster as fast as he could. He sacrificed accuracy and precision and threw the hardest strikes he could. He didn't bother counting them. Before it could have a chance to take a swipe at him, he hurried out of it's reach and back towards where he had stood before. He stopped his stride and slid back where he was, his glowing palm drawing a trail of steam as he slid back. "Alright, you son of a bitch, let's see how you like that!" He said, breathlessly.
  22. Move action to close distance 25 Critical threat First, I'm gonna hit it with a full power attacked corrosion effect at DC26 Fort and 31 TOU IF it is still functioning after that, I'll use extra effort to get a second standard action 25 Full power attack, that's DC35 TOU save with autofire Move-by action to get back out of it's reach after that.
  23. Adam stepped up behind Leroy. "I don't doubt your sincerity, and neither does Ashley. The wisdom, perhaps, but not the sincerity. I don't doubt Ashley's sincerity, either. Judy is a delightful person, but clearly less cynical than her sister." Adam placed his hand on his friend's back. "There is a whole school year ahead of us, Leroy. I'm glad you've found someone that delights you, but we've got a lot of life ahead of us. I cannot imagine the pressures you're under, but life has a way of changing in unexpected ways." He turned his attention to Claude and gave a sincere smile. "Claude, was it? My name is Adam. Welcome to Claremont. Please be careful." His tone was so thoroughly sincere and guileless, it was clear he meant it. He was almost positive she couldn't actually harm him, but something about Ashley frightened him, and he doubted that Claude had his durability.
