  1. Paper Papers eyes darted from one ninja to the next behind his mask. A flash of metal and he leaned his head to the side. He still felt the bite of the shuriken as it scratched him. He touched the spot and saw the blood on his finger tips. “That’s one.” Paper waves a hand and paper flows out of his sleeve to form into several floating paper lanterns around him. He reaches out to touch one and it spasms at his touch. A tear forms in it, opening to reveal a single large eye. The latern tears again into a large mouth and a long tongue hangs out of the ragged edges. Suddenly, the chochin obake lurches forward in a wild swaying path that looks like it will carry it over the heads of the ninjas. At least until it stops midair and spasms again. Paper balls the size of bearings explode from the latern yokai construct. They fill the air at the front of the crowd, but they strike with surgical precision. Not a single bystander is struck by the hail of hardened paper balls, only the ninjas Paper can perceive.
  2. Alternate Power: [36PP] (Additional Descriptors: Paper Barrage) Damage 10 (Range: 10 10-ft Increments, 100 ft Max; Extras: Area [Targeted, Burst], Penetrating [6 ranks, Effective Damage 16]; Feats: Accurate 2 [+4 Attack], Improved Critical 2 [18-20], Indirect 3, Selective, Subtle, Variable Descriptor [Bludgeoning, Piercing, and/or Slashing Damage]; Drawback: Medium [Paper]) [36/36] All I did was change the [General, Cone] he normally has, for [Targeted, Burst]. It doesn’t change the cost and it already has Selective. Of course he can only target the ones he can see. So any still hiding he can’t target.
  3. AE: Super-Senses 13 (Visual: Infravision, Ultravision, Analytical 2, Counters Concealment, Counters Obscure [darkness], Extended 1, Radius 2, Tracking, Microscopic 1) [13DP] I guess Knowledge, Life Science is the most appropriate: 12 GD dice roller - - Reroll: 26 that’s better
  4. Predator The train was obviously of custom design and construction, Jean thought when she arrived. She met up with the other heroes recruited for this mission, giving Echohead a nod as introductions were made. Jean regarded the other hero, she seemed young, but she had work with a number of younger heroes lately and they all seemed to be promising heroes. Jean had been sitting calmly as the train sped along. She watched out the window as it carried herself and two others out of Freedom. She had worked with the Agent code named Echohead twice before. He was a good man and he could be counted on. The other one though, called Rewind, she wasn’t familiar with. Jean had seen a few photos of her with other members of the Atom Family, but this was her first time meeting the woman. She would evaluate her by her actions as she did everyone else. When Ms Shrine brought them to the covered tables and began to debrief them, she gave Ms Shrine her full attention. The events Shrine described were unusual, without question. “How quick is the transformation?” Jean asked, leaning a little closer to look. “I assume the transformation occurs despite protective attire.” She added seemingly unphased. “Otherwise you would have contained this already. What about bodily fluids? Spit or saliva?” There was a ripple in the air around Jean and the Predator armor covered her. She scanned each body through the visual spectrum, everything from thermal to ultraviolet, recording and comparing them. Leaning in as close as she dared, Predator switched to more detail inspection, zooming in to a microscopic level. “What happened when robotics were used to collect samples?” She asked, assuming they had attempted already.
  5. Predator Jean had arrived at the WEST office unarmored. There was no need to cause a scene. She had brought the samples in a cold case for safe transport. She could tell Lyong was nervous and graciously accepted the offered coffee. She only hoped her appearance wasn’t adding to the woman’s nerves. The office wasn’t encouraging but looked to be maintained as best they could, which was encouraging. And when she saw the lab she wasn’t surprised. The building wasn’t very big and accounting for office use, it was on par with her own lab. Though she did see some different equipment, perhaps they could determine more from the samples. Or send them off to another lab. She offered the case to Lyong. “I’m sure you can see these are handed off to the proper personnel. I believe it’s connected to Dr North’s disappearance.” “Now, what can you tell me about whatever North was working on? Had anyone made threats against him? Any possible rivalries?” She asked, trying to sound calm and optimistic in an attempt to ease Ms Lyong.

  7. Chimera Red tinged the world as Chimera fell upon the possessed man. Following her initial attack, she felt him struggle under her. He almost slipped free of her but her new rage pushed her and she managed to keep her grip on him. “I said, GIVE IT BACK!” She roared. She was honestly beginning to scare herself, but she just couldn’t seem to control herself as she pulled back and slammed the man’s head into the pavement again. Why did she even want it back? I felt wrong in every way. But something driving her anger. Hopefully it wasn’t going to drive her right over an edge she couldn’t come back from.
  8. Okay, try to keep grapple: 29 +2 from the rage boost = 31 Dang, just made it. Tank you Rage. So we continue Chimera smash! Another DC25 Toughness check for Fernando and Chimera has 4 rounds left on her rage.
  9. Predator Jean frowned and glanced back at the table where her collected samples sat. “I hope I can.” She replied, trying to sound confident. “I have some samples I need to have double checked. Do you have facilities on site or a satellite lab that I can take them to?” She asked, already moving to gather some of the samples for safe transport. “Also, I would like to request a debriefing on what Dr North was looking into in Alaska, as well as access to his personal file. I understand it may need clearance from higher up, but it may be important.”
  10. Actually, if I use a HP to stunt a power, could I alter my AoE to targeted instead of general? And would burst catch more than cone? I figure the ninjas have a decent Ref save, so targeted makes an attack roll instead of a save roll. And since they’re minions I can take 10 to hit any of them in range, right. Plus it already has selective so he can avoid civilians.
  11. Are the ones coming over the barrier minions? And are they close enough together to use Takedown Attack?
  12. Predator Jean gave the Fleshometer one more look. She hadn’t been able to fine tune it as well as she’d have liked. Her design was fine but she was limited by her resources. The micro-compensation-comparators just weren’t on hand. She set the device aside and pulled up the information Cynthia had managed to collect. She poured over it but finance had never been a appealing subject to her. She had always left that to Catharine. She had been overly qualified, due had been loyal. Jean missed her and the rest of her team. But she could dwell on that. There was something going on and Jean was determined to find out what it was. She saved the data for reviewing again later and called on the local WEST office again, hoping for an update as she prepared to head out herself.
  13. Toughness save: 16 rerolling: 25 too close
  14. Predator It was the big one leading the charge that Predator focused on. He had managed to shrug through her Knuckle Duster. Two others had escaped its full effect, but she disregarded them for now. The alien drew his weapon and swung. Several archs appeared on her screen as he started the swing, one flashing brighter as he followed through. Her opponent was larger and had reach on her, but she seemed to be quicker and more agile. Strength though? Now would be an opportune moment to determine. Predator brought her arm up to meet the sword blow. She gritted her teeth behind the helmet as she felt the jolt, even through the armor. She simply added it to the list of bruises she would be tending afterwards. The armored helm looked up to regard the Boran Lt with cold, blank indifference. With a snap-click, forearm length blades extend from the ‘wrists’ of both armored gauntlets. Predator shifts and spins in place, pushing aside her attacker’s weapon and slashing across the alien’s torso with both blades with enough force to knock the larger being off his feet. With the larger of the threats taken care of for now, the armored hero dismisses the two smaller troops and turns her attention on the mecha that had taken a shot at her. The armored hero launches herself towards the hulking metal construct. It was the largest threat now. Besides, if they still felt like fighting she would deal with them in order of threat value.
  15. Just realized that gives her 2 bruise. Melee attack on the Boran Lt: 20 DC 25 for the toughness
  16. Toughness save: 22 She’ll take the bruise
  17. Knowledge, Business: 16 Knowledge, Civics: 14 Well, that’s nopex2 Knowledge, Technology: 17 Craft, Electronics: 12 - _ - So, no Counter Concealment
  18. Okay, Inventor is a Know, Tech check to design based on point total of the device. I'm guessing a detector would be Super-Sense: Scent-based Awareness w/ an Uncommon descriptor and maybe Counters Concealment? Then a Craft check to build. I just wasn't sure what the DC would be?
  19. Predator Jean stood staring at the results. By her estimates, the materials and process to create a duplicate like dr North would render this far too expensive for any large scale plan. Even a small scale operation would have cheaper options, she would think. But somebody had not only gone through the trouble to create it, but sent it to her. Again that begged the question: Why her? Jean picked up the bottle with gloved fingers. And was it an attack, or simply a show? A spectacle to show-off? A taunt? A challenge? She moved to her computer again. “Cynthia, list all the ingredients in the bottle sample. Run a search for companies selling each one. Identify costs and availability by both quantity and number of sellers. Also, note any that require special permissions or containment requirements.” “Yes, ma’am. Beginning search… Should I include international shipping under special permissions?” “Yes, excellent idea. Thank you, Cynthia.” “You are welcome, ma’am.” While her AI ran it’s search, Jean turned her attention back to the flesh samples. If the flesh required a stabilizer, then perhaps she could come up with something to detect the emissions created by the cellular entropy. Granted, it would have a very short range and wouldn’t be pin-point accurate, but it could prove a useful early warning. She nodded to herself and began to gather the needed parts as she continued to think of her next step. As she worked, Jean left a message with her league friend to fill her in.
  20. Blackstaff Blackstaff glanced around when the sudden explosive pillar of flames drew his attention back the way they came. He vaguely noticed whatever had been binding Dreamer fade, but this was not the time to stop and test it. “Shit.” He grumbled and looked around again. He was about to just pick a direction when he heard the rabbit again. He ran. On the heels of the rabbit as they crossed the threshold of the door. He turned, using his foot to catch the door and shove it closed. He only spent a moment staring at the door before turning around to look for the dapper rabbit. “Even if you aren’t aware of it, it seems your magic is looking out for you.” He commented as his eyes tried to adjust to the interior.
  21. Okay, from the top. Investigation: 13 Not a good start, let's reroll: 12+10=22 Throws up hands. It's gonna be one of those days. >< Knowledge, life science: 20 Knowledge, physical science: 10 Reroll that one: 21 Maybe another Medicine: 5... Dice Roller just really hates me... >< Maybe Knowledge, technology: 22 Maybe Craft, electronics for some way to detect someone else like the doctor? : 14 I'm just gonna stop there. >< Seems I either roll in the low single digits or 11-13 range lately.
  22. Predator When the police and trucks arrived, Predator stayed with the prisoners and spoke with the authorities as Shooting Star assisted with gathering the stolen equipment and loading it up. Once she was done, she joined the other hero with Dr Fields. “I’m glad we exceeded your expectations, Dr Fields.” Predator said politely. When Shooting Star began to leave, only to pause and turn around Jean couldn’t help but chuckle to herself. The young hero’s costume certainly looked like it had taken the abuse she had put it through, Though she was surprised it hadn’t taken more from that reentry maneuver. Perhaps something in her powers had mitigated a portion of the damage, just not all of it. Jean considered this for a moment. She wondered if Star would agree to some tests but quickly dismissed the thought. Her lab was still too small and under equipped for those kinds of tests. “That’s an excellent idea.” Predator regarded Dr fields. “I can offer my services if needed.” She added, willing to help the up and comer if she could.
