  1. Justice This was weird. Like, really weird. Just seeing Gretchen's head stuck in the ground like that, talking to the very small mayor and then turning around and... shouting that if she had any secret abilities that could help them, now was the time. Right. Gretchen was right. She had already shown that she could do whatever she was doing, now it was Robin's time, right? She'd wanted to find other super people, and Gretchen was a good guy, right? So, maybe it would be fine to show her? Still, she hesitated. She had put on the suit in public many times, but usually while wearing her mask, and not when anyone was ready to watch her, so it felt kind of weird. Maybe... maybe she should just tell Gretchen instead? But then, there were all the little people. How would they react? And Gretchen was cool, but who knew were the little people would do or what all this was... Some place secluded, maybe? Yeah, yeah. The AnneX would do. "Umm... yeah. I got... something. But I really don't want to show it off in front of all these..." She gestured with her hands out over the small houses. "People. Secret ID, all that." Great. Great. Just a great first impression as a super hero. With a sigh, she reached up the round purple-pink stone she wore as an amulet in her necklace and touched it softly. It had felt weird the first time she discovered this, but now she was getting more used to it. A moment of focus, and the a purple-pink portal, same color as the amulet, opened up besides her. It was big enough to fit a person through, more too. In less than a second the purple-pink color gave away, showing instead the insides of what appeared to be a rather sparsely decorated room. "Umm. Yeah. Sorry, but this is not gonna get us out of here. Its just a one way back and forth. Open portal between, uh, my headquarters, I guess, and where I was before." All kinds of other neat tricks, of course, but not here. Not in the middle of where everyone was. Stepping towards the portal, Robin took a deep breath, before taking a step inside and turning to Gretchen. "You coming?" Alright! Nailed that part at least!
  2. GM What met them were a sight, to be sure. A man, or at least part of him were a man, stood in the middle of the room, ranting and raving at everything and everyone. People had either fled or were covering, as he held a couch high above his head with just his right hand. In his left, he held a harpoon with jagged edges at the point. He was wearing a dark coat and layered dark cloak that covered most of his body, with only his hands in gloves and his feet in heavy boots being visible. He had a wild, scraggly beard that had once been completely black but now appeared to be greying. He was bald, with a large collection of scars crisscrossing his scalp. His left eye and ear appeared to have been replaced with crude cybernetic enhancements, copper in color. Their exposure to oxygen were slowly turning them light green. "WHERE IS IT? I had it right there, in my sights! And then it was gone! Where is the blasted whale!?" He almost didn't see the people around him, too preoccupied with his rants.
  3. Forever Boy A crash and a bang and action. Pan liked movies, of course. It was so different from anything back home, and yet, it was nothing like the thrill of actual adventure and the call to action. Glowing golden dust was already falling around his body as he stood and Selena caught the popcorn machine, replacing his clothing with his red and green uniform, mask and all. He could hear corn popping in it still, even as it tumbled through the air, held aloft by Selena. He quickly lifted above, the golden glow around his body making him visible even in the slightly darkened room. "Hurry now, the super heroes are here to handle various flying machines. One at a time, do not step on each other!" He wasn't really sure if he would have thought of getting everyone out of the way if not for Selena starting it, but it was probably the best thing to do. With everyone seeming to move in the right direction, he flew down past Selena. "Would you honestly have it any other way?" He was all smiles as he zoomed straight towards the lobby.
  4. Wait wait wait. Jones did not know what he was messing with here? He had no idea what he was going using to try to blow up the building? Was he really that dense? You don't go around blowing things up if you don't know how much will be blown up! Not just for the whole "taking himself out too" part, but for whatever else he might end up taking out too. These things looked dangerous, and now he was just handing them over to her? Yeah, Jones was underestimating her, or at least hadn't put two and two together about Robin being far from dumb. So, of course she was gonna fiddle. Try to figure out what this was. Play along for a moment, and that transfer had to be finished now. "Yeah, yeah. One moment, let me just check how you arm this thing." Or how much damage they could do. Or how to disarm it, preferably permanently. This did beg one question, however. Jones didn't know what kind of explosives he was lugging around, so just how much did he know about that armor he was wearing? And had he really put it together himself?
  5. No blowing stuff up without knowing what's up! Justice is gonna try to figure out what the explosive is, how powerful the blast will be and such, maybe if she knows how to disable it. I think that's under Physical Sciences, using Skill Mastery for a result of 22. Let me know if its not, then I'll roll for whatever else it might be.
  6. U.F.O. Well, the mission had been given. The enemies of the Praetorians were escaping, and they needed someone to follow that could do so swiftly, and while remaining hidden. If the Praetorian leader designated Paradigm had given the order, then 777 would follow it. It felt strange, in a way. 777 had begun to establish that it felt things that organics would call feelings. What was this feeling? Pride? Very interesting. <"This unit will establish pursuit and contact the Praetorians once a base of operations has been reached."> Engaging its full stealth suite, 777 would seem to disappear as it started its pursuit.
  7. Justice Few people in the crowds probably understood what Max Mars was going on about with how the Olympus was converting greenhouse gasses into useful, less harmful substances, but one Robin Lynne Langley. Of course she had to be here for the MarsTech Science Fair. She had been coming for years, and she wasn't about to stop now. All the new tech, everything that Max Mars was dreaming up, presented out here by the man himself? It was great, as always! And the Olympus? It was nothing short of a revolution! Honestly, Robin would love to get to Max Mars, really poke his mind about everything that he was thinking, but she knew that wasn't about to happen. That Meridian, however... there was just something about her that rubbed Robin the wrong way. Sure, she was a hero. Everything said so, and she was hanging out with Max Mars, which had to be a plus, but there was just something about the way that she played to the cameras, or maybe Robin just had to admit that she was kind of jealous? Meridian had just popped up and was already doing things like this, while she'd been at it as Justice since Halloween, and aside from that thing with Sunnyside Immigrant Refuge, the Wall, Blowfish and Detective Kidd, and being on television for that. Yeah, that might be it. She really wasn't sure, but maybe that was it, and just seeing her flying around like that? Maybe. Anyway, there was plenty of things happening here. Robin could just as well focus on Max Mars and everything else being shown at the fair.
  8. GM Rita froze up for a moment at Nicole's statement about what happened to the ones that weren't lucky, even after the chuckle. She wasn't completely back to normal by the time Nicole rolled on, but she followed her anyway, waiting behind the chair as she let Nicole take everything in. Nicole's close look did not reveal much. There seemed to be something in there, but it was so impossibly small that the naked eye could not see them. There was just the sense that there were something in there. "Right. Give them plenty of space. We're trying to work on making them self replicate, so that seemed like a good idea." She paused for a moment, before continuing, her tone shifting, growing a bit more somber. "Listen, about the unlucky test mice... I'm not gonna lie to you here, Nicole. This is important work. It is the cure, but it is also insanely dangerous. The unlucky ones... I'm not even sure you could recognize them as mice anymore. Its been a long while since we last had something like that happen, but we can't be too careful." She shuddered. From the look on her face it was obviously not a happy memory.
  9. Search DC20 for Rebellion to spot any security measures: 1d20+10 = 27 Reb discovers a security system near the computer.
  10. Rebellion The strange bird man seemed shocked at suddenly appearing. So he had not planned for being seen. Another intruder, then. Or perhaps a secret guard? Elliot could not be sure, either way. And if he was an intruder, that seemed shocked at suddenly becoming visible, then would Elliot become visible inside the room too? Was the potential gain of finding out something incredibly vague worth that risk? Of course it was. His form still blending in with the surroundings, Rebellion steeled himself as he took a step inside, ready to fight if it came to that... and then he didn't appear. Interesting. Whatever had caused the other to appear, it did not seem to affect Elliot's ability to change his appearance at all. The other was moving around, looking through the trash. Probably not an intruder, then. Or maybe just an overly zealous member of the cleaning crew. Elliot made a different decision. Anything that could trigger and alarm, he had to try to find it. Then take it out.
  11. GM Screech moved around the room. No alarms were sounded, at least not yet, but he probably had little time. The waste paper bin had some scraps, pieces of paper ripped to shreds, mostly by hand. Most of it seemed to be random bits and pieces. Nothing of consequence. There were two pieces of paper that were exciting, however. Ripped clean down the middle, it was a printout of an email. Put together, it spelled out: Mr. Stark, ONCE again, here is your username and password to the system. Please try to remember them this time: Username: Elysium/Teach_Stark Password: Tr1T0R3m3mb3r Whatever other qualities Mr. Stark had, he did not seem an expert at cyber security, at least.
  12. Right, missed that. Bullets are penetrating 5, so lowered to 7, with rank 9 attacks. Go ahead and roll the saves before my post.
  13. GM "We don't got a moment, hero." The leader of the gunmen was rubbing his shoulder, steadying himself against a wall. "Any chance of giving me a lift outta this hole, at least?" He was obviously still in pain from the hit that Captain Cosmos had delivered with his cosmic might, but at least the pain seemed to have cleared his mind somewhat. Whether or not Captain Cosmos complied with the request, the man continued after his response. "We're not angels by any stretch of the imagination, but we're not killers. We've done wrong, plenty of work for hire. Strong arming, burglary, whatever. Last year, there was an accident. A guy got killed. Someone here got the goods on it, and blackmailed us into coming here tonight. Nothing brings publicity to an event like this like a hostage crisis, right?" He stopped there, waiting to see if the hero could connect the dots on his own.
  14. GM The mouse was at first stiff and almost paralyzed to when Nicole reached out for it and took it in her hand, before sudddenly warming up and starting to accept her. It was just a small delay, but enough to be noticeable. Then it practically started to lean into her touch, obviously enjoying the affection. "Repair and improve," Rita stated, her arms crossed as she looked briefly over her shoulder at one of the researchers, before turning her full attention back to Nicole and Jerry. "Since we're already putting the nanos in there, we can just as well use them for improvements. So yeah, I think you're spot on. Unfortunately, its not quite stable yet. These guys," she gestured to the mice, " are the lucky ones. We're still ways away from moving up to anything bigger than mice. Plus, the bigger the patient, the more nanos we'll need."
  15. GM Oz was certainly right. These were not ordinary poachers in any way. Rifles raised, the two near him remained silent as they fired at him once more, undeterred by the previous green lightning and the force field that protected him. The weapons remained loud. Noisy. If this had been the real world, their weapons would have echoed for miles. As it was, this little world inside the painting was not quite as big. Another bullet bounced off William's hide, and with a loud *OINK!*, the pig decided to take action. While Charlemagne shouted for it to come back and flee, the pig instead charged straight at the poacher that had been shooting at it... though sadly passing by him, as he sidestepped. With another annoyed *OINK!*, William turned back, getting ready to charge again.
  16. Figured! Hunter 1 and Hunter 2 are gonna keep shooting at Oz, force field or not, Hunter 3 goes for the pig again, in order: 23 22 33 And that a bunch of hits! Another two DC24 saves for you And TOU for William: 28 Now, William is getting pissed and joins the battle! Charging at Hunter 3, and attacking: 9, and that's a miss. Hunter 1 - Staggered Hunter 2 - Unharmed Hunter 3 - Unharmed Oz - 1HP - Bruised x1, Dazed (ends on your turn) Charlemagne - Unharmed William the Pig - Unharmed
  17. GM Pacer might be zipping around faster than the eye could follow, but she wasn't unnoticed. Others were, like her, moving around. Some just stood still, watching and following her movements across the area. The glowing ball of black light seemed to follow her, quickly floating around her, starting to take a shape that mimicked Pacer's. The rhino man just grunted in acknowledgement of Pacer's speed, while the Squid's glow grew more intense as it watched her. With a loud grunt, the Rhino man set into speed. It was not nimble and elegant like Pacer, but seemed to move with an almost thundering speed, each step it took pounding through the area. It kept pace with Pacer, even if she tried to build up speed. Soon, they were joined by others. The ball of black light seemed to move in almost a dance, the rainbow of color appearing as an unending streak. They followed her, creating a blur of movement for any onlookers, until finally, the rhino man stopped and spoke. "I am Kasi of the Endless Plains. Well met, racers." The ball of black light introduced itself with a mental message. It was more of an image than a sound, something that resembled a black hole, only with lightning sparking through it. The rainbow were silent, flickering around them.
  18. *32 - White Lioness - 1HP - Unharmed - Waiting for a lift for the rest of the turn *26 - Thunderbird - 2HP - Unharmed 25 - Veronica Danger - 3HP - Unharmed 24 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 23 - Ship A Crew - Undamaged - 3 Pirates near Danger building - Unharmed - 2 Pirates inside the small dome - Unharmed 21 - Ms. Thursday - 2HP - Unharmed (Currently DEF 5) 19 - Salvo - 2HP - Unharmed 15 - Ship B Crew - Undamaged 11 - Zenith - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Building Defenses Other Zenith's Big Dome - Toughness 10, Def -7? (5-12) (Awesome Size) - Damaged x3 Zenith's Small Dome - Toughness 10, Def ? (coming later) - Undamaged Fog/Rainclouds around the building, courtesy of Thunderbird The cannonball that didn't break the dome was destroyed, the other is now inside the dome, not too far from the people near the entrance, with pirates appearing from it. The second dome is over it. The defense system has been activated: 4 Ranged Stun 9 cannons with +7 to hit. Current situation, to summarize: The institute is currently surrounded by a Toughness 10 dome, which the teens can pass or shoot through without harm. Thunderbird and Veronica Danger are outside, with fog and rain clouds giving them some cover. Forever Boy has reached Ship A, flying near it. White Lioness is approaching Ship A. Salvo has moved further inside the complex to try to figure out the Horologium. The flying Sky-Pirate ships are approaching from above. Ship A is about 1000 feet away at this point, and Ship B about 1500 feet away at this point, but approaching rapidly. Both are about 200 feet above ground. A group of 5 pirates have appeared from a glowing light from the cannonball that managed to break through the dome. Ms. Thursday is in melee with 2 pirates of the Pirates inside a smaller dome, with 3 other pirates outside it, and Zenith on top of it. They're within the fog/raincloud cover that Thunderbird has created. @Tiffany Korta, @KnightDisciple, you're up
  19. GM After Astrid's strike, the pirates begun to scatter. Zenith's dome appeared atop them in a the blink of an eye, but the pirates were just as fast. Or at least some of them were. While three of the pirates managed to move outside the dome as it formed, the last two, including the one that Astrid had stuck, were still inside it, together with Astrid... and the still glowing cannonball on the ground. At the same time, white, cheramic cannons began to appear from different placements across the walls of the building. The defense systems that Veronica had requested had activated.
  20. Pirates ref saves: 23 25 13 16 19 @TheAbsurdist, You get two of them, make an IC and I'll get their reaction up.
  21. GM Whatever Oz was trying, the poacher rolled to the side, avoiding his gaze and raising his rifle. He pulled the trigger, letting loose a loud BANG!, a high powered bullet being sent flying directly for the wizard. And then, before he could react, Oz would hear additional BANG!, BANG! Two more rifles fired. Two other poachers untangling themselves from bushes and trees near them, each clad like the first, wielding the same type of rifle. Another hit at Oz... and a bullet fired towards William. The pig whined loudly, while Charlemagne did his best to try and steer it towards the portal to his home that they had entered from.
  22. First, let's try for the gun: Reflex save: 26 Gun is not transformed! Opposed Stealth Checks: 27 26 Surprise attack! Seems the hunter was NOT alone! Notice from William and Charlemagne: 34, 29 Hunter 1 and 2 tries to shoot at Oz, who is distracted (even if Uncanny dodge would've allowed Oz to avoid the surprise attack): 17 27 2 hits, make 2 DC24 TOU saves. Hunter 3 shoots at William: 17 A miss! Hunter 1 - Staggered Hunter 2 - Unharmed Hunter 3 - Unharmed Oz - 1HP - Unharmed Charlemagne - Unharmed William the Pig - Unharmed
  23. A tough world, with no super powers? Interesting. It might be fun to see such a world. Yes, of course he would go. It was an adventure! A journey into mystery! A challenge of the unknown! Of course he would be going! Feet lifting from the ground, Pan quickly flew inside in a glimmer of glowing dust. He didn't really feel like worrying about might happen, unlike Astrid. "To adventure, then!" Why worry? They would deal with what were about to happen when it would happen. It was another world, one that only Dana knew about, and he was just too excited about the thought of going somewhere brand new.
  24. GM The duo of heroes were being watched. Whether they realized it or not, they had been followed for a while now, even as they chatted among themselves. The large figure had so far proven surprisingly adept at staying out of sight, creeping along the shadows. It was surprisingly silent as well, given its stature, but it was growing restless. While it had previously been content to keep some distance, it was now moving faster, slowly closing the gap between itself and the two heroes. Still, it made no sound, and seemed to do its best to stay out of sight. It seemed to know the value of a sneak attack. The only question was if the heroes would notice it in time or not.
  25. Can I get another notice check, to see if you notice that they're being followed? DC25. And Initiative roll, while we're at it.
