  1. GM Another loud bang, and another cannonball flew through the air from the ship that Forever Boy had flown towards. The cannonball sailed past him, colliding directly with the dome. It shook once more, but still held, leaving the single hole. Perhaps more trouble was the cannonball on the ground inside the dome. The flashing red light grew in power and intensity, until the cannonball opened, the top splitting from the bottom. A powerful red light shone from the core, before taking on the shape of a sparkling red doorway. Five men quickly emerged, dressed very much in the style one would associate with a pirate. Eye patches, peg legs, flintlock pistols. Bandanas, a fancy hat or two. But not a single one with a hook. At least having moved through the sparkling red doorway seemed to temporarily faze them, giving the young heroes a chance to act.
  2. Ship A shoots at the dome again: 22 Another hit. @TheAbsurdist I hope its alright that I just roll the defense to save time: 1d20+9 = 15 vs. DC23, fail by 8. The Dome takes another damaged effect, but no new holes. And five pirates appear from the cannonball, but they won't get to act until next round for the Ship A crew. 32 - White Lioness - 1HP - Unharmed - Waiting for a lift for the rest of the turn 26 - Thunderbird - 2HP - Unharmed 25 - Veronica Danger - 3HP - Unharmed 24 - Forever Boy - 4HP - Unharmed 23 - Ship A Crew - Undamaged - 5 Pirates near Danger building - Unharmed *21 - Ms. Thursday - 2HP - Unharmed *19 - Salvo - 2HP - Unharmed 15 - Ship B Crew - Undamaged 11 - Zenith - 2HP - Unharmed Other Zenith's Dome - Toughness 10, Def -7? (5-12) (Awesome Size) - Damaged x2, Disabled (hole in the barrier) Fog/Rainclouds around the building, courtesy of Thunderbird The cannonball that didn't break the dome was destroyed, the other is now inside the dome, not too far from the people near the entrance. Current situation, to summarize: The institute is currently surrounded by a Toughness 10 dome, which the teens can pass or shoot through without harm. Zenith, Thunderbird, Ms. Thursday, White Lioness and Veronica Danger is outside, with fog and rain clouds giving them some cover. Forever Boy has reached Ship A, flying near it. Everyone else is inside. The flying Sky-Pirate ships are approaching from above. Ship A is about 1000 feet away at this point, and Ship B about 3300 feet away at this point, but approaching rapidly. Both are about 200 feet above ground. A group of 5 pirates have appeared from a glowing light from the cannonball that managed to break through the dome. They're within the fog/raincloud cover that Thunderbird has created. @Cubismo, @Zeitgeist Blue, you're up. @Tiffany Korta, feel free to take your late action.
  3. Forever Boy Attack it was, then. Completely fine by Pan. The enemy ship was approaching quickly, and they had already managed to smash through Zenith's wall with their first cannonball. They would only keep up the barrage, unless they were given reason to aim elsewhere. "Get in close! Their cannons are slow change aim. The closer you get, the better your chance of evasion."/color] He made a quick pause, looking over at Salvo, he motioned to the Horologium. "I will try buy you some time to figure that out." And up and away, Pan flew, rushing right past Veronica, Micah, Corinne and Àjàṣorò, leaving a trail of glowing Pixie Dust behind him. He had his sights on the nearest ship. He could not waste any time. Find the jammer and disable it, that was the best plan he could think of right now.
  4. Forever Boy moves all out to fly as fast as he can towards Ship A, putting him at Defense 12 until next round.
  5. GM The small man with the large hat, the mayor as Gretchen had thought of him, looked up at Gretchen with wide eyes as she sunk into the ground before him, until only her head remained. "I-I... appreciate that. Thank you." He slowly lowered his cane, but still held it in his hand. He did not seem to trust Gretchen completely, and even with her head down at his height, he stopped a foot or two away from her, keeping his distance. He cleared his throat, straightened his clothes and looked at Gretchen. "Welcome to the Town of Liliput. I am Mayor Smalls. What brings you to our fair town? We are not quite used to giant women falling from the sky."
  6. Justice "Again?" This gave Robin a bit of hope, at least, even if Gretchen didn't really make it come across that way. She'd done this kind of thing before? Then she'd probably know what to do, at least. Good. That was great. Robin was all about finding out solutions, but she really wasn't that big on magic. "You've tried this before?" She trailed off a bit, falling silent, looking around while Gretchen went to talk to the little man with the way too tall hat. He fit in perfectly with everything else. Toy sized houses, toy sized man. Looked like a little doll. It was weird. She'd seen some magic before. She was wearing a magic necklace, for crying out loud, but this was just so very different. And then Gretchen sank into the ground like it was water, and that was just so weird. It was just like the ground wasn't there for her. Alright. Gretchen had powers, no question there. Robin was leaning towards her being more on the heroic side, at least. She might be a bit sour and grouchy at times, but she was ultimately a good person, right? And didn't seem to care much about showing Robin what she could do. She'd have to ask about that when she got the chance.
  7. Rebellion What the hell? Slowly, but surely, the doors screws were unscrewing themselves? Just what was going on? It was just one a time, moving ever so slowly, but moving nonetheless. Elliot had seen more than a few things as Rebellion, but this was just weird. Was someone else here? Trying to break into the same room at the same time? Another student? He didn't know of anyone that could turn invisible like that. This was so weird. Still, probably best to see what was going to happen. Rebellion took a step back, away from the door, standing with his back against the wall opposite of it, and waited.
  8. Let's see... A DC25 Notice for Rebellion to notice the screws being unscrewed sound good? 1d20+12 = 32 Aw, Elliot's first 20.
  9. GM One by one, the screws began to be unscrewed from the hinges on the frame. It was not a quick task, but it was suitable, at least. One by one, the screws would come out, and the door would soon be able to be opened. The question was if someone would notice the screws being moved away or not. And when the door was opened.
  10. GM While Gretchen and Robin were talking, cursing and freaking out a little bit, curious small eyes had been watching from the homes and houses that was spread out around them. Small eyes, tiny at the size of dolls, but noticeable as figures and shadows behind the windows. While Robin was standing up, murmurs and whispers had begun to rise from the houses, loud enough to easily be noticeable by the pair of newcomers. The murmurs kept rising, until finally reaching a crescendo and stopping, when one small door opened in the house closest to Gretchen and Robin. It was a rather fancy house. A stately manor. At human size it would probably be the kind of place where you could get lost in all the rooms. And the small man that came out was clad to match, in a bright blue tuxedo, complete with top hat and a cane in his hand. He was tiny, completely in scale with the houses. Maybe 6 inches tall without the hat (which added another 2 to his height), with a neat grey beard and a small monocle. He held the cane out towards Gretchen and Robin as he approached, some fear evident with each step. "Pl-please don't hurt us, giant women!"
  11. Justice Wait, wait, wait. This was all weird and everything, but was Robin seeing things right here? Was Gretchen actually flying? And cursing. Oh yes, she was cursing very loudly. And saying that she went crazy. Won-der-ful. If that was the case, Robin had gone crazy too, because she was seeing all the toy sized houses around them, too. Silver road, yellow corn. What was this place? How had they even gotten here? Did that book suck them in? "Yeah. Yeah, I'm good, but what is this place?" Robin's mind was racing. It looked like they were in some kind of Wizard of Oz knockoff, and that book had sucked them in, and Gretchen had been flying, but she couldn't really recognize her as any heroes she knew or knew about and wait, could Robin even access the AnneX from here to get her gear, and no way she could do it without showing Gretchen anyway, or... She was starting to look a bit panicked. Too much information at once, too much to process. Deep breath, calm down. "Sorry, sorry. Just give me a sec. This is too weird." Right, she had technically been to another world plenty of times, what with the AnneX and everything, but that was different. She was in control there. Deep breath. Calm down. Get up and stand up. "Right. All better now. You alright?"
  12. Well, @TheAbsurdist since Asad can't really understand them, let's just say that he has a really strong feeling that whatever the squid are saying, you really shouldn't trust them.
  13. Rebellion Rebellion moved closer to the door. He could force his way in. He slowly moved a hand to one of his batons, then stopped. No, that would disturb the scene too much. He needed that information, but he was not in a position to give away that he was inside the school. So far, he had managed to come and go unseen. He could not give that away so quickly. Instead, he moved towards the keypad. The number could be significant to Stark, if he were to remember it. There might be some clue, maybe wear and tear on the buttons, maybe blood left over from a scratch... but no. Nothing. Curious. He would have to come up with something else. Taking a step away from the keypad, he stood in front of the door again, thinking of what to do.
  14. Rebellion's gonna try a DC20 Search to find an Obscure Clue (by examining the keypad). Search: 1d20+10 = 14 Alas! No clue found on the keypad!
  15. Justice It all happened so fast. Robin was moving closer while browsing. The man just rubbed her the wrong way, and she wanted to be ready in case he tried anything. She did her best to appear inconspicuous, just browsing, looking at the books. Then Gretchen opened the book, and the roar and the laughter and the tornado that pulled her in and boom, they were right in the middle of a toy sized city, sitting square on her butt. All she could really think of was to say "What the hell?" They really weren't in Kansas anymore.
  16. +1 HP to each of us, for fiat of not allowing a reflex save to avoid getting sucked into the book.
  17. GM Gretchen was very right. She would regret opening the book to the first page of the Astonishing World of Miv. Under a dramatically stylized title, with a very large M in Miv, the very first line of the book read. "They looked around, finding themselves surrounded by toy houses. They were rather large for toy houses, reaching perhaps to their navels, but none taller than that. In the distance they could see fields of yellow corn, and a silver road that snaked between them. And so, they found themselves far from home, in a world not their own." She had barely finished reading the line before a roar was heard, though it appeared that only Gretchen, Robin and the strange man were aware. Before they could even react, a whirlwind, a storm given form, erupted from the book, pulling them with force greater than they could resist. But a single sound deafened the roar of the tornado as it pulled Gretchen and Robin into the book. The man's manic laughter. And so, Gretchen and Robin found themselves surrounded by toy houses. They were rather large for toy houses, reaching perhaps to their navels, but none taller than that. In the distance they could see fields of yellow corn, and a silver road that snaked between them. And so, they found themselves far from home, in a world not their own. The strange man was nowhere to be seen, but noises and tiny voices around them made it clear that they were not alone.
  18. GM Rita let Nicole roam a bit around the room first, obviously interested in seeing where the intern would be going. She did not seem disappointed when Nicole reached the mice and started asking about them. A small smile played over her mouth and tapped the glass on one of the cages. The mouse in the particular cage came closer, sniffing towards her finger, before returning to its wheel and starting to run around in it. "Good. This one was suffering from brain damage when it was brought in. It could feed itself, that was about it. Now look at him go?" Rita turned to another cage, placing a finger on the glass. The mouse inside immediately looked up from its food and ran over, gently placing its paw on the other side, at Rita's finger. "This one? Missing most of its paw. Now look." Standing up straight, she gestured around the laboratory mice. "Each one had been hurt in some way. Brain damage. Dementia. Broken bones. Missing limbs. Two of them with severed spines, unable to walk or move on their own. And now, just look at them." All ten mice seemed as happy as one could expect, moving about in their rooms. Running, eating, sleeping, whatever they wished to do. None showing any damage, or being worse for the wear. "I think the results speak for themselves, right? I'd love to get to move further up the food chain, but the higher ups want some more trials first."
  19. "Just need this transfer finished, then I might be able to find something that can help your friend out." Then turn off the power. Then blow up the place, maybe. Or maybe stop Jones. Honestly, Robin was still majorly conflicted about this point. She had come in just wanting to find some evidence, or anything in general that could be used to help Anna, and then she'd run into Jones and get caught up in blowing up the whole place? Yeah, this really wasn't how she had expected her day to go, but this place was obviously evil... Ugh. She couldn't let him do it. Bad guys or not, this was a building in the middle of the city, with lots of people everywhere. Robin couldn't just let Jones blow it up. The transfer had to be done soon. Then figure out how to stop him. "So, uh, what are you using for explosives? Think it can take out the whole building, or just the things in the basement here?" Maybe that was an option. Just take out the basement and their weird killbots.
  20. GM The gunman glared at Captain Cosmos as he ascended. He was sweating. His hand on his gun was trembling. He was starting to visibly shake. "I... I'd feel good. That's what'd happen. No damn hero is gonna tell me what to do, yeah. Yeah!" He sounded almost like he was trying to psych himself up to actually do it. "You can't stop me, not in time..." His voice gave him away, slowly being lowered. "Ugh... fine... Just, just go." The gentleman stood up, glared at the man, but stepped aside. He didn't seem like he was about to let it go quite yet, but he was deferring to Captain Cosmos, at least. The leader of the gunmen let out a sigh. "Right. Now what, hero?"
  21. GM The pair of students managed to approach Mr. Stark's office unnoticed. Both would find themselves in front of the door at the same time, and yet, they did not notice the other. The door appeared to be a heavy hardwood door, much like the rest of the doors to the teachers' offices, with a golden door handle. The teachers, at least, were not wanting for anything at Elysium Academy. There was a keypad next to the door, with the numbers 0 to 10, and a lock symbol to press at the end. From their previous journeys across the school, both of the heroes would know that the teachers used values with 6 different numbers for their codes. The question was how they would proceed to enter.
  22. Rebellion Mr. Stark was not a good teacher. He was just one of many on Elliot's list of potential members of the conspiracy, which had absolutely nothing to do with how the tactics teacher would continuously put down Elliot and the rest of the Omega Squad during his lessons, with the general breadth of tactics thrown in their direction being something along the lines of "Go stand in front of the heroes, stall them until the real combatants can get close". No, Elliot did not like Mr. Stark at all, but he did not let his emotions get the better of him. That was not the reason that he suspected Mr. Stark to be a part of the conspiracy that secretly ruled Emerald City. No, that came from the cryptic messages that Elliot had happened to see written on his phones, the whispers he shared with other teachers, and, perhaps most of all, from the fact that he had once mentioned the Terror. Mentioning the Terror was, in itself, not a red flag. But that he had mentioned it as an example of something that had been created for a purpose? Now that was interesting. As far as Elliot was aware, the general public knew nothing about what the Terror was. But, apparently Mr. Stark did. Elliot had pulled his mask on, and vanished, replaced by Rebellion. Now he walked the halls of the school, his hands in the pockets of his blue jacket, blue cap pulled over his head. He was black, his eyes white in the darkness of his face, but of course, no one could see him, as he blended into the world around him. He had yet to be caught during his tours around the Academy and the outside, and he planned to keep it that way. No one should suspect him, after all. It did not take long to reach Mr. Stark's office. The only question was how to enter without causing too much noise or attract attention.
  23. Ah, my bad, sorry! I'll update to reflect that. Anyway, you're up @Grumblefloof. Submit to the ink or not, choice is yours!
  24. Forever Boy "Yes, a few insisted I watch. It was... strange. Like a funhouse mirror, I suppose." A pause to chew some popcorn, while he leaned back in his seat. "At least Captain Hook was more entertaining than the Hooked Man. I find it stranger still how much the book and movie has right, than how much is twisted." It was a bit difficult to explain, really. The girl and the family having the right names was so strange in the first place. He had to admit, he did enjoy these ads more than the rest of the theater seemed. Maybe it was just the fact that they did not have anything like it at all on Neverworld, or maybe it was nice to relax with what was normal in this world, just for a short while? He honestly wasn't sure, but these commercials did show him a different side of this world. Pan was brought out of it by Selena's question. "Ocean Heights? That is the amusement park, yes?" His smile twisted a bit, growing wider. Maybe just a tiny bit wider than that of a normal human. "Time for some mischief and unsupervised fun? I am, of course, in." An amusement park! And after hours! Oh, he could not resist that!
