  2. Danish Super Humans The number of known Danish super humans are low, even given the country's size. The small size has led to a a relatively close knit community, but with little in the way of way of the traditions of the North American super humanity. While the country has produced relatively few super villains, the Danish super heroes are still kept busy, dealing with attacks from foreign super villains that try to stake their claim in Denmark or threats from their country's mythology. History Denmark's heroic history stretches into the past, to the time of the vikings and beyond. Before the time of the Pact, the Aesir would walk their lands, or stride across their sky. Magic ran its course, creating heroes and monsters both, with Elves, Trolls, Giants and more living through the lands. Their tales would be told by the skjalds, but most were lost as Christianity took hold. Of particular note of this era was Holger Danske, also known as Ogier the Dane. A powerful warrior, a hero once in the service of Charlemagne, he would eventually retire to the catacombs of Castle Kronborg, where he turned to stone. Time and time again, when Denmark has been in need, Holger Danske has returned to fight for his country. In the 19th century, the author as H. C. Andersen discovered the power of the fairy tale. He created manuscripts that held the power of his stories. He intended to use the stories to create heroes and wonders, but when he saw the horror of a man using the power of the Snow Queen to freeze Øresund, he decideed it would be better to hide the books and the power they contained. While some were hidden in Denmark, where they would be used by future champions, H. C. Andersen travelled across the world, scattering his works across the globe. Prior to 1940, Denmark had few super humans, but still more than this day. All that changed when Nazi Germany invaded Denmark in 1940. Though the country's super human defenders fought valiantly, they, along with their country, were defeated by the superior Nazi Übersoldaten within hours, and the country capitulated. The known Danish super humans subsequently surrendered to the occupying force to prevent them from bombing Copenhagen. The few remaining Danish super humans went into hiding, fighting secretly against the Nazi occupiers as part of the Danish resistance groups. Holger Danske would return to fight the Nazi occupation time and again during the war. Most, if not all, of the Danish super humans were killed during the occupation. In the years since, leading up to the modern era, few super humans revealed themselves. More often than not, they would be villains, but often than not, it would be handled by local authorities, or with the aid of UNISON. It was not the year 2000 that super humans began to appear in earnest in Denmark, though still in far lower numbers than other Western nations, beginning with the debut of the Little Mermaid on Christmas Eve the same year. Following the heroine's appearance, both heroes and villains would begin to to appear in the country. Notably, Denmark saw a greater appearance of mythological beings than many other creatures, with beings such as giants and trolls making their presence known once again. With the number of Danish heroes still low, their efforts stretched thin across the country, the Danish government decided to charge Anders Lund, the country's leading genetist to focus his research on what he has dubbed the "super-gene", to create their own super heroes. While so far, Lund has been succesful, several nefarious organizations, including S.H.A.D.O.W., has taken an interest in the research. Denmark is under attack by opportunistic foreign super villains, an ever rising number of mythological beings making their presence known, shadowy organizations having designs on the country's fledgling experiments to create super humans and is relatively close to Talos' Rurland. With all the perils that seem to plague Denmark, is it any wonder that Holger Danske's throne at Castle Kronborg now stands empty? Notable Persons and Organizations Beowulf: A mythological Danish hero, who fought and killed the Grendel, the Grendel's Mother and more at some point between the 8th and 11th century. Danish Dynamite: A well meaning, but ultimately ineffective Danish hero, active since 2013. The former soccer player uses his heightened agiliy and strength to fight primarily smaller scale crime, having had little success against super human enemies. Elverkongen: The Elf King. The king of the mythological and fairy tale Elves that live just beyond the sight of the world of man. From his throne he reigns supreme, sending Elf Maidens out to steal whatever catches his fancy. A powerful player in the world of myths, he follows a strict code of honor. Last reported active in December 2018, where the New Orleans native hero Lament saved a group of children from his grasp. Grendel & Grendel's Mother: The enemies of Beowulf, a powerful giant humanoid monster and his mother. Despite their defeats and supposed deaths at the hands of Beowulf and others, they have reappeared several times throughout history, most recently being involved in Lament's conflict with Elverkongen in December 2018. H. C. Andersen: 1805-1875. Danish author, known primarily for his fairy tales. He created a number of books, sources of power based on his fairy tales, that he has hidden around the world, with a few located in Denmark. These true editions now empower a number of Danish and international heroes and villains. Holger Danske: Also known as Ogier the Dane. Holger, son of King Gudfred, served as one of the Twelve Knights to the French King Charlemagne, wielding the sword Curtana. He led the French to victory against the Saracen, where he defeated the giant Brehus in single combat. As a wandering knight, he travelled across Europe before he returned to Denmark. At Castle Kronborg, he sat on his throne, where his body would turn to stone, appearing as if he was a statue that bore the inscription: "When Denmark is in peril, then Holger Danske will awaken". Throughout history, Holger has risen from his slumber when he was needed, only to return to his throne once his work was complete. He was last confirmed active during World War Two, aiding the Danish resistance groups against the Nazi occupation, before returning to the throne. Now, as Denmark is besieged by enemies from without and within, is it any wonder that Holger's throne stands empty once more? Jens Vejmand: The protector the free town of Christiania, keeping it safe from outside interference. Vague and mysterious, he has acted as a guru and leader of the free town since he first appeared in 2008. His powers are as mysterious as his identity and origin, he has so far demonstrated levitation, force blasts of unknown energy, the ability to instill illusionary images, sounds, scents and feelings. He will often travel across Denmark, always walking by the road, appearing at his destination far faster than he should be able to. Jormungandr: The Midgard Serpent. The God Killer. From before the Pact was sealed, it encircled the world. Its reach is far, in the minds and hearts of men. It seeks only Ragnarok. King Crab: A rogue Atlantean pirate with gargantuan mechanized crab armor. Since at least 2015, King Crab that has started attacking Danish transport ships and harbors, among other maritime targets in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. He seems to have a particular fixation on the Little Mermaid II, often comparing her to her mentor. Little Mermaid I: Formerly Denmark's premiere super hero, active from Christmas Eve 2000 until Christmas Eve 2017, where she was succeeded by Little Mermaid II. She could breathe under water and manipulate water, sing siren songs and, upon entering water, she would grow a mermaid's tail, allowing her to swim at incredible speeds. She was a known as a kind and loving heroine. Little Mermaid II: The successor of Little Mermaid I, she tries her hardest to live up to her predecessors legacy. Possessing the same powers, she seems to be physically stronger than the first Little Mermaid, but still has a lot to learn. Active since Christmas Eve 2017, she patrols the Danish seas and coasts. A beloved heroine. Lund Biovidenskab (Lund Life Sciences): Denmark's premiere genetic research division, funded and rund by Anders Lund, one of the most advanced biological laboratory facilities in Europe. Focusing on studying the genetic make up of super humans, the scientists and researchers of the group race against time to create Denmark's first artificially created super humans in an attempt to stave off the super human threats to the country. While so far unsuccesful, the group is making progress, and to most, it is only a matter of time before they succeed. Several shadowy organizations have shown interest Lund Biovidenskab, including S.H.A.D.O.W. and Labyrinth. Metalhead: A super villain, active since June 2009, where his powers first manifested during his attendance as the yearly Roskilde music festival. His entire body appears to be composed of an unknown metal alloys, including softer areas, such as eyeballs, eardrums, tongue and more. He is able to absorb machinery and weapons into his body through touch, becoming stronger and able to accomplish new feats in the process. After causing trouble in Denmark for years and being defeated by the Little Mermaid I and the Snow Queen in several incidents, he left Denmark for greener pastures in 2015, after being defeated in his first encounter with Jens Vejmand. He has since worked as a villain for hire across the globe. Snow Queen: Denmark's most powerful hero, the Snow Queen is able to create ice and cold, manipulate temperatures and freeze the hearts of men. A police officer, Julie Mikkelsen gained the powers of the Snow Queen after finding one of H. C. Andersen's true fairy tales. She is at the moment Denmark's only super hero without a secret identity, still working as a police officer, enjoying all the resources and fame that comes with her job and powers. A Danish celebrity, she travels across the country to aid where she is needed. Active since the January 2010.
  3. Reflex: 26 Waiting with the rest until clarification and effects from Ex's post!
  4. Pan stopped completely as Elizabeth spun him around and talked about the exit stage left, whatever that meant, and then his eyes focused on Eira as she left for the bathrooms. Elizabeth could almost feel the shudder than ran through his body. "Yes, it appears I have made a mistake." His tone was meek, his voice low. "Thank you, Elizabeth. I wll do my best to follow your advice." He moved forward, a quick flash of emerald and golden glitter. He entered the bathroom. There were a few others in there, but he didn't seem to pay them any mind, as he listened for those telltale sounds. "Eira? I saw you go in here. I'm sorry, I thought you wanted me to go dance with Elizabeth." He paused, listening again. He hesitated, waiting for a response.
  5. "Please, like I am even trying to be subtle." Pan responded as he moved around Elizabeth. His tone was a bit more serious, just a tiny bit. "Eira is fun, she is different, but she has trouble admitting things to herself, no? I could of course take some drastic measures, maybe I will, but it is fun to watch her squirm a bit, don't you think so?" His voice was low, he moved in close. "But maybe I should stop, and let her know that I know how little irony there is to this date? You would probably find that amusing, at least." He winked at Elizabeth as the last bit, then looked towards Eira and... Dio appearing out of nowhere, in a panic, all because of a little spider. Pan stopped and stared, suppressing a laugh at the sight, before throwing himself back into the dance. Near Eira, the voice spoke again. "What are you afraid of? Make your move! Tell him how you feel! Go up there and show them all!"
  6. "Oh, but of course, my name's Gregoria Gregovich III, I live on the Moon and my favorite movie is Snow White." Alright, Robin knew that she had a tendency to talk too much. Like, a lot. She said a lot of things she probably shouldn't, like Salvo had just pointed out, but she wasn't that bad about it. "Yeah, don't worry. Everything's on a loop." The device worked. She had tested it more than enough to know. Robin didn't really like to be sneaky like that, but it paid to be able to do it. Especially with everything else going on. "I've already panicked. Didn't get me anywhere, y'know." She turned down another hall. Nobody else was inside this place. "As far as I know, only Max Mars knows. He might try to use that, but so far, he doesn't know that I know he knows, and he doesn't seem the type that's going to use my family against me or anything like that. I might be wrong, but aside from figure out what I can do to stop him, what else can I do? As long as he doesn't share what he knwos with everyone, which doesn't really seem likely, then revealing myself is just gonna mean everyone coming for me." She pointed to her mask. "Besides, its not like I spend a lot of time in just this mask when I'm doing hero work." Turning around a corner, Robin pointed out a door ahead. "There, the third door on the right, that's the old workshop. Not nearly as cool as the new one."
  7. What was this? Obviously, the flier and the young man didn't know anything about this place, or at least they were good at hiding it. Had someone drugged her and hooked her into some kind of AR scenario? She looked over the other two, hesitating just a bit perhaps. Could she trust them? Probably not. "Did we get drugged?" She asked, while looking around, and keeping a good distance from the others. No, don't get too close. Don't divulge more information than necessary. Any of them could be working for MarsTech or one of the other corporations. And then an armored figure from the sky, speaking strangely. Julia took a step back from the figure. If anything, this one was the one to watch. "Maybe. At least it'll be for you if you don't keep your distance." Both the armored figure and the woman with the cape looked like something out of the history books, like super heroes had used to look like. And the other looked like what... a few hundred years out of date? Was that what this was? Some kind of weird cosplay AR room?
  8. The thing moved around hardened space, not an easy task. It moved with purpose, not just flailing wildly. It could sense them, somehow. The tentacle moved to try and catch him, but he managed to push it aside. "Stay behind us and keep your heads down. We'll deal with whatever this is." Parker sounded more confident than he probably should. Back in the day, this would have been easy, but this wasn't back in the day, was it? He was rusty, not nearly as powerful as he used to be. He needed to stay on guard, but he also needed to listen. The man had rambled something about Dino drinking something and then... Wait. Inside the tentacle, there was something, a face, screaming at them as the tentacle moved. Parker watched with growing horror as the tentacle moved... and then, he struck. He remained in front of the men, then moved his arm, reducing the distance between his fist and the creature's arm, where he had seen the face. Strike at it. Strike through it. Try and grab the person inside and get them out of there.
  9. Well, at the current setup, that might be enough! Opposed grapple, with only Base Attack Bonus applying: 28... and yet! Notice: 23 Switching Space Control Array to Elongation + Enhanced Strength. Seeing the guy inside, Spaceman will try to punch through the tentacle and pull him out, so that would be a lethal attack against the pseudopod that tried to grapple him: 28 DC25 TOU if that hits.
  10. Justicei "I'm sorry, really. Couldn't help it. It's just, with your big, bulky armor, deep voice and everything, I thought you were some kinda big, bulky guy. Like, I dunno, a big biker type, and then that bandana just caught me off guard! I can get you an out-of-armor mask if you want? Got some tools in my new workshop, could you whip one up for you real quick?" She really hadn't meant to hurt Salvo's feelings or anything, it was just... yeah, too much. She hadn't seen that coming at all. As they walked through the advice, Robin's shoulders noticably slumped as Salvo tore into her. She was right, of course. Robin knew that. She talked way too much, she didn't really think about everything she might be giving away. Tech was much easier to deal with than people, and well... she wanted to trust Salvo. Their little group of people, they had to trust each other, right? Heroes were supposed to trust each other, but Salvo seemed like she'd be suspicious of just about anything, but, she was right, wasn't she? "Maybe I'm wearing a wig?" she tried, but her tone made it more than clear that she wasn't really trying. She had pretty much given it all away, hadn't she? "I'm not really late on the thesis though, just, y'know, a bit behind on my original schedule. Super heroing keeps me busy, y'know?" Maybe she should just keep silent, right? Or... wait? What was that? "To be honest, you'd probably figure those bits out soon enough, anyway. Private workshop here and all that, who else would have that, right? C'mon, its just over here. So, what're you studying? Engineering or something like that? Or playing the violin?" She couldn't suppress a grin at the last bit. Sure, she talked too much, but she listened, too.
  11. "Keep it down! You don't know what's out there!" Alice would see a woman in a form fitting black suit, with glowing light purple, almost pink, powerlines running from the center of her belt and out to her arms and legs. The woman was probably in her early thirties, but the black domino mask with lenses in the same light purple almost pink color made it a bit difficult to make out. Her hair was dark brown. Julia was alone, or at least she had been, until she had seen the flying woman. She didn't seem like she knew this place, as she looked around, scanning the area and the horizon for, well, anything.
  12. Justice 2099 comes from the corporate cyberpunk future of Emerald City, now a sprawing metropolis that covers most of the West Coast. The heroes of today have passed, but in this dark future, a new generation of heroes have been born! MarsTech employee Julia Langley accidentally discovered a hidden cache containing an incredibly advanced battlesuit. With information stored in the armor, Julia learned that MarsTech's CEO, Maximillian Mars III, is part of the secret group that rules Emerald City with an iron fist. As Justice 2099, the Julia fights to make the future a better place!
  13. TOU: 9 He's down. And you really don't have to wait for me to roll before doing your ICs, y'know.
  14. Justice Robin paused briefly when the woman with the bandana, cap and hoodie walked up and... announced herself as Salvo. She looked at her, then stiffled a short laugh. "Sorry, sorry, its just... you're... not really was expecting? And that mask and everything, its just great!" So, just two masked women walking into ECU, right? Now that wouldn't attract any attention at all. Hopefully, no one was working late. She shook her head, pushing away from the wall. "Err... yeah, saying I got the whole building for myself is probably kiiind of stretching it?" So, how much should she tell? Salvo was smart, she'd probably figure it out the moment she saw the card anyway, so... No reason to lie, was there? "Starting out, before I found a way to, y'know, get my own place, I, well... kind of used the university's workshop when no one was looking? There's some great 3D printers here, and I had access to a lot of stuff as part of my studies here... and I'm probably way behind on my thesis now that I think about... But, yeah. This is probably where they got my tech, if they stole it." Robin gestured towards the entrance. "There's usually not anyone around at this time, and I've got a gadget that loops the security cameras for a bit, but we should probably get a good look anyway."
  15. GM "I can't see! I'm blind! She blinded me!" Crimson Cross was clearly panicking, alternating between waving her arms around and holding a hand in front of her eyes, waving her wings around in the smaller tunnel with little luck. "You're not any kind of hero!" Jonathan roared as he charged forward, arms stretched out. He deftly dodged under one of the Crimson Cross' wings, before catching Ms. Bright in a bear hug. He quickly started to apply pressure, starting to crush the life out of her if he got the chance. "You're not going to ruin this! This is justice! This is what is right! We have been chosen!" The Preacher almost seemed like he was enjoying this, the display of force, the fight in front of him, before he turned and hurried towards the pit. He started chanting something in a language that Agnes didn't quite recognize, even if she could only hear half the words over Jonathan's yelling.
  16. Grappled! The Preacher moves away, towards the hole with all the bodies, where he stops and starts chanting, and Crimson Cross recovers from her daze. Rolling on your turn to end dazzle for Cross: 7. Nope! 23 - Ms. Bright - 1HP - Unharmed 20 - Jonathan - Unharmed 19 - Crimson Cross - Blinded (1 turn), Staggered 14 - Preacher - Unharmed
  17. Jonathan runs up and tries to grapple Ms. Bright: Attack: 24 That's a hit. Grapple: 22 Can I get an opposed Grapple?
  18. Of course he ran. They always run. Which meant that either Connor would have to shoot them in the back, or he would have to chase them. They probably wouldn't like the outcome of either action. The guy in the riot foam was struggling. Might be breaking free soon, it wasn't like it would last that long, but, that was fine. Connor reached for a couple of stun arrows, ready to stop the guy stuck in the foam for good, when the other guy started shooting at him again. Weaving to the side, Connor moved out of the way, then raised his bow with the two arrows ready on the string and let them fly towards their target. Fine, he wanted to be a pain in the ass, then he'd get the stun arrows.
  19. Firing a couple of Stun Arrows at the robber that shot at Archer, so ranged Stun with Autofire: 26 DC16+autofire bonus FORT save to avoid stun. Still keeping an eye on the guy in the riot foam.
  20. Gunfire. A man screaming. The flares and glow sticks illuminated the area, but it wasn't really necessary, was it? The scavengers had holed up, protecting themselves from a pseudopod, doing their best to stay out of its reach and failing, before Spaceman could react. Whatever that thing was, it was clearly hostile to the men. No matter what they were here for, he couldn't let more of them get taken, could he? He threw himself in front of the men. One second, he was just there, hand held out towards the creature in front of them. It was difficult to get a read on it, but it was there, so he could stop it. "Stay down, don't fire. We'll keep you safe." Then they could discuss whatever else was going on here, and just what these people were up. Focus, then. Stop the creature from moving. Lock it in place, not allowing it to strike or move. It had been a while since Spaceman had last tried this trick, but as long as he didn't know what this thing was and what these people had done, he wasn't about to just start hitting it. "Any idea why this thing started attacking you?"
  21. Spaceman is gonna move in front of the scavengers, so he is between them and The Thing. Switching the Personal Space Control Array to Imp. Tou/Immovable and gonna use his Snare to try and catch the waving arm. Its Subtle 2, in case that means catching the arm off guard! Attack roll: 23 DC20 Reflex to avoid snaring if that hits.
  22. Doktor'd! Spaceman His grapple bonus for Move Object/Change Physical Distance is off! I'd forgotten that for Perception Range Move Object the Grapple Bonus is rank x2 and base attack doesn't apply, so, here's an updated Grapple Table. Grapple Table Total Score Base Attack (BA) Increase Molecular Space (IMS) Infinite Reach + Spatial Strength (IR) Change Physical Distance (CPD) Values +10 +10 +17 +28 BA +10 +10 CPD +28 +28 IMS +20 +10 +10 IR +27 +10 +17 IR+IMS +37 +10 +10 +17
  23. "Of courses, but that would mean they knew everything we could do. Wouldn't be good tricksters if we let everyone know all of our tricks, would we now?" Pan's playful smile remained, not frozen, but ever present as he danced, being more than happy to take the lead. Still, it wouldn't exactly be difficult to see that his eyes would flicker towards Eira every now and again. He took a step back to the rhytm, before pulling in closer again. "And sometimes, less is more, no?" An almost stumble at the frown, giggling at the aborted pun and quickly shaking his head. When he stopped he, of course, looked entirely innocent. Except for the smile that played over his lips, which was of course anything but innocent. "I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. This is a purely ironic date." He paused briefly, shooting another glance in Eira's direction, then whispered. "At least until someone decides to be a bit honest and decide otherwise. But, I am working on that." Back with Eira, the voice spoke again. "close call! watch out, watch out! all eyes are on them, you're safe. unless you would rather be the one that was seen. maybe you should be?"
  24. I figure another speaking around before combat, if you want to get a word in before fighting starts!
  25. GM The tower was not much of a tower. It was a ship, smashed into the ground. A quite large ship, in fact, on with at least three massive masts that all stuck out to the side. They were splintered and broken, sails and ropes hanging from them. The tower stretched up far into the darkness near inside of the whale's stomach, far higher than one would expect it to be able to go, even with the massive size of the whale from the outside. In fact, the end of the ship could not be seen in the darkness above. Ahab was climbing the tower, pushing his way through anyone in his way. Many had made makeshift homes along his path, in cabies, on stairs. Even as he vertically scaled the ship, intent on heading towards the darkness above, he took the chance to glare at Gauss and Forever Boy. "You!" He stopped, holding on to a rail that he had been using to climb. "This is all your fault! If it was not for you, the whale would be dead, and I would never have been here again!" He reached for a harpoon, but didn't throw it quite yet.
