  1. GM As the heroes made their way through the city, the scene was the same everywhere they went: People running and screaming. Werewolves howling and attacking. Some heroes were seen, fighting against the wolves. Others had become wolves themselves, hunting the people they would usually protect. Terrifica stood alone against the Thunderwolf. Hanging with his arms by his side in mid-air, he did not seem to even notice her at the moment. His nose raised, he seemed to be smelling the air. Then, he howled. Lightning cascaded around his body, before the white-furred werewolf landed heavily on the ground, staring straight at Terrifica. The rest of the area around them seemed strangely free of other werewolves. Unlike what Facsimile, Miracle Girl, Sureshock and the Spectacle saw, the Thunderwolf seemed to be the only werewolf near city hall. The rest stayed clear, despite the number of people that were starting to gather behind Terrifica. "What do we do?" A slightly overweight man in the late 40'es stood close to Terrifica, holding on to his upper left arm with his right hand. Some blood dripped from where he had been clawed. "You gotta keep us safe!"
  2. Justice Alright, so, werewolves, right? Big, furry things? Claws and biting and everything? Robin had seen weird things lately, but this was just a bit much. And having Salvo yelling at her on the commlink wasn't really helping her concentration while she tried to keep a wolf from eating some other people. "I'd ugh love to hear about that Baal slapping at some point, but I'm kinda busy here." She was holding her arms up, blocking the wolf that was biting and barking at her. Barking mad, right. "Gimme a sec, Salvo." Alright, Salvo needed her, so... "Sorry, I know you really don't mean to be all mean and hairy right now." Pushing her free hand forward, she pressed a small sticker against the werewolf, watching as the electric shock knocked it out, before turning back to the people behind her. "Alright, get out of here, find somewhere safe to hide, I'll... find a way to stop this." She turned the link back on. "Alright, I'm back." Something about the Freedom League and the Aux being useless? Ouch, Salvo was in a mood. Not that Robin could really blame her, right? "Guess its up to the Emerald League then, right?" Someone had to do something, at least. "I'm coming for you, stay where you are for a sec." Focus, a portal opening in front of her, a quick stop through Z-Space and the fully armored Justice stepped out in front of Salvo, just in time to catch the last of her talk with Junior, whoever that was. "What's Vhoka, and how soon is Junior gonna bring us there?" Alright, Salvo had something. "You know I'm not gonna let you go alone, right?"
  3. Archer II "Uh huh." Connor raised his beer to his lips while he listened, his eyes darting to the other Merge and Para LX every now and again. The cloud, all connected at once... Like what, Merge was like some kind of computer? And was it any wonder that Connor wasn't a big fan of super powers? It was freaking weird. People like Merge, Facs, that weird octopus kid from the prep school... It was all way above Connor's paygrade to figure all that out. "I try to stay in touch. Guys like him are usually the kinda people the old man wants me to take down." He paused to put the beer down. "I guess I was about to be that local hero, but if you got something better, then I'm in."
  4. Nevermore II Wait, wait... did those people in SAD uniforms have guns under their arms? That didn't make a whole lot of sense, did it now? No, Charlie was pretty sure that the cleaning staff wasn't supposed to be armed here. He looked at the lady that had been yelling at him for pretty much no reason at all, how could he get away so he could tell Alek about it, or better yet, do something about it? He had to figure out a plan here, get her out of the way before these guys did something and... She went completely professional whispering to him and pulling him along to an office. Which, good. It got her away from them for now. And he had his utility belt in his suitcase, even if Alek thought he didn't need to bring it and he could come up with some plan and... Right, the woman was still here. Time to play idiot. Put those acting lessons to work. "What are you talking about? Would you let go of me? My boss is gonna get pissed that I haven't joined him yet."
  5. GM "There's lots of strange things anywhere you go, kids. This place ain't that different. That's all ya need to know about that right now. But don't worry, long as we follow the map, everything'll be just fine." Macedon seemed confident, at least. With Callie and Luke gathered close, he pointed at the map. "Y'see the marking there? About 7 miles to the North? There's a cave that should be safe to spend the night. We're gonna take a few days to get to Red Rocks, then we'll go home, if all goes according accordin' to plan." He rolled the map, holding it out towards Luke and Callie, waiting for one of them to take it. "Alright, lead the way then." The path wouldn't be easy, but at least the mountains remained in place, giving Callie and Luke some good points to navigate by. Macedon was strict and rough, but more than willing to help whenever any of the students faltered, with the map being passed among them all along the way. By the time the group reached the cave, night was starting to fall. The darkness came quickly in the desert, and with the darkness, the temperature started to drop rapidly. Once inside the cave, Macedon put his backpack down and pulled out an old oil lamp. He lit it with a match, casting the entrance of the cave in light. "Alright, we stay in here, stick close to each other. Nobody leaves line of sight." The cave stretched into the darkness behind them.
  6. I'll let Charlie have just his utility belt and no costume, and then take that HP.
  7. Pan's entire body tensed. His arms were still around Eira, but not relaxed as the moment before, his hands pausing in her hair. "Is that all I am, then?" There was a certain edge to his voice, one that Eira had rarely heard. "Am I just a story to be told?"
  8. You're surrounded. There's at least 4 people around hiding all around you. Give me an Initiative roll.
  9. Nevermore II "Not as bad as your armor, buddy," Charlie shot back at Zach with a grin, while he hiked up his backpack. He followed him to Muirne, shaking his head. "C'mon, man. You gotta get across the desert, you're already lugging around your armor, at least put that thing down before you try to show off." Charlie grinned, before motioning with his head towards the others. "Looks like we're about to go, you guys coming?"
  10. Pan's grin widened. Just a bit wider than what seemed normal as he embraced Eira, leaning in close. "If that is your wish." His lips quickly found Eira's. --- The storm howled. The clouds rolled over head. Only the lightning and their own source of light illuminated the two teenagers. Pan was lying behind Eira, holding her close, running a hand through her hair while he looked up at the sky. His upper body was still bare, Eira resting against him. He didn't seem all that bothered by the rain, or even seem to really notice it. "I am curious: How many aunts and uncles will I have to fight off if they learn of this?"

  13. Pan looked up as Micah flew away, and the storm began. His eyes followed his friend for a moment, until Eira wrapped her arm around him. "Maybe we should find a cave to keep you safe, then. If you are vulnerable to something like that." His tone was somewhat flat, not really showing much emotion. His eyes lingered on Micah for a second more, before they returned to Eira. "Oh, a little tease now? You would amuse yourself with me, hm?" He pulled her close, whispering in her ear. "And what do you want to do now?"
  14. Spaceman "Hey, how about you bring back the roof, alright? Don't want to get anyone too excited all of a sudden." He looked a bit worried, as he looked up at the sky. Or maybe he was looking at some of the students. "Alright, that's fine Richard, but you know the rules, right? No powers without a teacher's permission. So, down on the floor again, please." He clapped his hands together to get everyone's attention. "So, if Nightscale and Shift could get back to what they looked like, it'd be great. How about the two of you explain a bit about Claremont to the kids here? Some of them have visited, but let's hear it from you. What's your day like? What are you learning?"
  15. GM "That's so cool! You look just like him!" Valeria was almost bouncing, clapping her hands. "Look, Lucas! They look just like Pan! Isn't it great?" Valeria pulled back a it at Luke's question, but a dark haired boy with a bright blue Centurion t-shirt quickly pushed in front of the crowds. "Oh yeah? Then look what I can do!" He lifted off from the ground and started to fly. "I'm real strong too!"
  16. GM "You'll keep me safe?" Billy's voice cracked. "You will keep me safe? That's rich. Only reason I'm here is cus Alice threatened me, and now you're talking about keeping me safe?" He looked Shooting Star up and down. He didn't seem impressed. "What makes you think that I'm the one that gotta be kept safe here?"
  17. Nevermore II Everything was quiet now. Charlie leaned against the corner, slowing his breathing, just like Alek had taught him. He would have been proud if he saw him like this, all quiet, hiding out in the Summers Manor kitchen. Everything was quiet, but it hadn’t really been like that the entire night, had it? His shirt was ripped at the upper right arm, three marks from a claw. Charlie was bleeding from the cuts, but at least he had managed a makeshift bandage from one of Alek’s shirts he had found lying around. Alek could yell later. If there was a later. Everything was quiet now, and Charlie really didn’t like that. If he could hear it, then he could find it. When it was quiet like this, then it was being serious about finding him, not just playing with him. At least he had managed to grab one of his utility belts. The bad news? He had never gotten around to restocking it: The belt had no stun ravenrangs, no staves or remote viewing drones, but at least he had some of his other tricks in there. Then, a sound. Claws hitting the floor, rhythmic steps. Moving slowly, with some hesitation. Heavy, labored breathing. Yeah, it was back. Just slightly peeking around the corner, he saw it again. It was larger than a man, with an elongated snout. Its feet were clawed, as were the hands. It was covered in a thick greying fur. A werewolf. With everything else that he had seen already, Charlie really shouldn’t be surprised, but still. It was a freaking werewolf, and it had been hunting him through the Summers Manor. Everything else he had seen so far? Yeah, he really should have expected werewolves at some point, but he hadn’t. Especially not this particular werewolf. Its fur was greying. It was sniffing at the air, its eyesight not as strong as it might once have been. It was moving slowly, with a limp. And a few hours earlier, it had been Duncan Summers. Even as a werewolf, Duncan was still as sharp as ever, but now? Now he was no longer just an old man. Now he was muscle, fur, fang and claw, and he really wanted to take a bite out of Charlie. The Manor was in lockdown. No one getting in and out, so here he was, trapped with the wolf. Not a great time. The wolf stopped, its snout moving as it sniffed at the air. It stopped, ears falling flat behind its head while its lips pulled back, revealing its teeth. It snarled. It had him. With a ravenrang in his hand, Charlie scrambled back into the kitchen, knocking over a pot on the way. With a howl, the wolf set into a run, rushing into the kitchen, fangs barred and claws ready… before falling flat on its face as its feet were stuck in the tripwire between the kitchen table and the wall. Charlie couldn’t keep the grin from his lips as he stopped to stare at the wolf for a moment, while it climbed to its feet. “C’mon, that’s it. Nothing to it, just gotta get up and…” He stopped, trailing off as the wolf came at him. “Ah, damn. Sorry, Mr. Summers!” Down the hall, to the left, shutting the door behind himself. The wolf was already at the door, slamming right through it and… being caught in the black out bomb Charlie had set up right inside the door. The darkness spread out, while Charlie used another door to leave the room. Of course it wouldn’t matter much. The wolf could smell him, but, it would at least give him a second or two. He just had to keep going. Lead the wolf on a merry chase, don’t get caught. Alek had to come back home at some point, right? And werewolves were supposed to turn back to normal in the daylight, weren’t they? At least, he was pretty sure he had read some stories like that at some point. So, keep going, wait for Alek to show up? Sounded like a plan. With the wolf hot on his tail, Charlie led him through the entire manor. Anything and anywhere he could use, he would. Alek was going to be pissed, probably Ms. Summers too, and Mr. Summers if he got back to normal, but honestly, Charlie wasn’t about to lose sleep over sacrificing a chair or two to keep the wolf at bay. He just had to keep going, stick to the plan. It took longer than he thought it would, but finally, he made it into the Rookery. It had taken a few attempts, including some major detours to avoid being eaten, with a few more scratches along the way, but he had made it. Standing at the entrance, he whistled loud. As the wolf came running, he dove into the cave. The wolf was hot in pursuit. Keep him busy? No, that wasn’t really a plan. Not Charlie’s plan, anyway. Sooner or later, the wolf would catch him, and honestly, he couldn’t risk that. No, he had another plan. Alek would hate that plan. Into the cave, through the gym. In here, Charlie was in his element. Swinging from ropes, jumping across the equipment, and the wolf just pushed right through him, heading directly for him. If not for the limp, it would probably have gotten to him long ago. But the gym was just a stop, anyway. So was the lab. And the workshop. At least the wolf didn’t trash those too bad. Alek would probably still be pissed anyway. At least he was getting closer to the final stop: The garage. It had been a while since he had used any of his gadgets, or, well, anything else that could work as a weapon against the wolf, but he had just two left: A tripwire and a black out bomb. The wolf had forgotten all about the previous trap. It was more than an hour ago, and he was hungry. To be honest, Charlie felt bad for Mr. Summers when he fell again, especially when he dropped the black out bomb in his face. He had seconds. But seconds was all that he needed to get out of the garage and activate the security system. The door shut behind him, a massive gate that even the wolf couldn’t move. He did it. He saved himself, without seriously hurting Mr. Summers. It was a rush, it felt great, and the entire manor was in shambles. Charlie honestly wasn’t sure if Alek would kill or praise him.
  18. Nevermore II This might be home for Callie, but not so much for Charlie. She was already moving across the rooftops, swinging like she was home in this city. Which she was, of course. "So that's how it's gonna be, is it?" No fear, then. Alright, he wasn't about to let Callie beat him that easy. She might be quicker and have a headstart, but... she was using outdated tech. At least compared to his own. Taking a few steps back, Charlie leapt out from the buildings. Grabbing hold of his cape, he stretched it out to the side, activating the signal to stiffen the cape. At just the right angle, he soared past Callie towards the building, a huge grin on his lips. "C'mon, I thought you wanted to race!"
  19. Give me some initiative rolls when you can, so we're ready once the action starts.
  20. OOC for this. @Exaccus, @Heritage, @EternalPhoenix, @Brown Dynamite
  21. GM Downtown, Freedom City October 31st, 2020 Sunset Howling. Everywhere, what used to be people were howling. Not everyone, of course. Just about 1% of the world's population were transformed, but 1% of the population of Freedom City? Now that was still a considerable number of people. Luckily, Freedom City was the home of super heroes! Everywhere you looked, you were bound to see a hero helping the day, restraining the werewolves and saving the people! If anywhere would be safe on this Halloween, it had to be Freedom City, right? For a moment, the howls were drowned out by a crack of lightning that the roof of city hall. A werewolf with white fur hovered above the building, pulling its mouth back to howl at the moon as another bolt of lightning struck above. It was wearing the tattered remains of a blue and white costum with a yellow lightning bolt on its chest, lightning crackling around its claws. It seemed not even super heroes would go untouched by the night of the wolves.
  22. Pan spread out his arms. "See, we can all be friends here. There is no need for any trouble, yes?" He approached the aliens, a wide smile on his lips, a shine in his eyes despite the mask he was wearing. "I am sure you have heard of the Earth. There is a lot of people here that could cause you trouble, entirely unlike us in every way, yes! It is probably a good idea to just put everything back before they start showing up, is it not?" He gestured towards Danica. "So, are you really after that elephant? It does not seem like it is worth much, except the sweat on our brow! If you are looking for something else, we can help you, and get everything back in order before someone troublesome discovers you! So, please, what are you looking for? Let us help you!"
