  1. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki was jogging closeby, with a backpack loaded with her daily assortment of text books. And possibly a couple bricks. Note the backpack was more suited to hiking than to jogging... particularly for a mile... But she knew she had time between her physics and biology classes normally reserved for lunch to get out into the New England air. The cold never bothered her at all after she gained her powers, so she's out with a sailor collared shirt and a pair of coverall jeans and a sturdy pair of boots, with goggles on her head as she runs. She walked into the Library, was going to return a couple books she borrowed, on hydrodynamics that she was reading out of curiosity when she noticed a bit of a crowd. "Busy day." She said, noting the new faces. She nodded to 8Ball. "Was thinking of going for a swim later, once I don't have to worry about dripping salt water around the campus. Buuuut... studies first." What's odd is even with the load she's carrying, she isn't even sweating, and she should be still shivering with how lightly dressed she is, even walking into the heated library. One would almost say she enjoyed the cold.
  2. Torpedo Lass II Moving In - Girls (2) Through the Paces (2)
  3. Mizuki hit the gas lining herself up on the outside to anticipate the turn and take the lead, while also calculating a way to hit a power up, but the sound of one of Quirk's Kooplas was heard too late, bumping Naomi off course away from a power up and off her intended path. It took everything she had to keep on the track and not going out as a result. Losing speed. "Well... they're getting aggressive... sounds more like F-Zero is what Quirk's aiming for." She thought, she noticed she had dropped behind the pack. But then she had an idea. "All I need is some offensive tool... if I can get a powerup on the next set, I can start playing rearguard for the team..." She kept her new pace, observing the enemy racers.
  4. Got an 18 on the reflex save, my intent is to anticipate the first turn by going to the outside of the track, then cutting to the inside on the first turn, at best speed. I'll leave hitting a powerup to how well I made the save.
  5. Torpedo Lass II "You know I want all the smoke, buddy!" Torpedo Lass shouted, using her prodigious leaping skill to do a long-jump like stride, "Let's dance!" she shouted, while throwing at the flaming villain a ball of bluish-green energy. She was more interested in drawing attention now, hoping to get the most potential for destruction focused on a single target. "Or you find it hard to hit a girl in a sailor suit?!"
  6. Keeping moving to at least make myself harder to hit, doing a long jump down the walkway I'm on while firing off a phosphorescent sphere at Pyre. which probably misses on a 19, but at least it was a good try.
  7. Torpedo Lass II "No plan survives contact with the enemy." Torpedo Lass remembered. Seeing how Pyre had the high ground she needed to change up her positioning rapidly. From up there he could start fires or shoot flame at bystanders. Eliminating such a ranged threat would be what is necessary to reduce the chances of collateral... Looking at how one of their blasts hit, it was obvious how much of a threat they posed. She lept up aiming for the next higher level behind Pyre, and as she went over the Flying, Flaming villain she let loose a kick that had a glow to it around her foot... "You're not out of reach, hot head!" But it was a miss as she landed as intended... What she noticed is that Pyre was putting off some sort of heat wave... could potentially be damaging if she hung around for too long. But she was where she intended to be... for now.
  8. Well no plan survives contact with the enemy. And Pyre is gonna learn that TL can kick that. My move action is to dolphin leap to pyre but my full movement will have me land on a higher level behind him. Using Move-by action, I'll promptly kick him using my "Hullbreaking strikes". Rolled a 19, if that hit, DC 22 Toughness.
  9. Question, how high is Pyre ATM? Or for that matter, what sort of collateral did Pyre cause with his missed shot?
  10. Luckily my Reflex Save is the same as my modifier for drive rolls. Not shabby...
  11. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki grinned, putting on the headset and goggles that were hanging on her wheel. "Just like that one Kart game with all the cartoon characters." She said, adjusting the sailor collar of her shirt. She pulls out, hitting the gas. "Question is what sort of Gimmicks Quirk is planning to use..." She wondered as her blue and white Kart took off behind the rest of her team.
  12. Torpedo Lass Mizuki sighed. "First Holodecks, now Q? What's next, Klingons?" Mizuki said hopping into a Gokart-like kart. "At least this isn't too odd a control scheme." She starts the engine by turning a key on the steering column. "Just turn the key, Consuelo!"
  13. Torpedo Lass II "Holding Back?" She muttered under her breath. "That kick should have knocked that plasma sword woman's block clean off..." The new scene appeared. Torpedo Lass was frustrated but something clicked. "We're gonna have to expect mayhem is the goal of this elemental team..." She said turning to Rot. "Don't worry about before. Some people approach a test with certain expectations... we weren't supposed to hold back... But now things have gotten more complicated. We're gonna need each other to succeed." Turning to the elementals she adjusted the sailor collar of her futuristic wetsuit. "I got some ideas... Rot, your powers could soften up the rock man. I'm guessing his defenses are through the roof. Timeout, you might be able to keep the air elemental in place enough to do something to them. I got the water elemental... I can take the pressure. Spaceman... Buzz... Keep the fire elemental occupied and not attacking civilians. Fire is something that can spread and can cause the most collateral." She looked over to Spaceman. "At least... that's my assessment."
  14. 1d20+1: 20 [1d20=19] 20. And providing a voice of reason.
  15. Q... irk... I'll get a post in Monday, was about to head to bed after a late shift.
  16. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki takes a step back. "I... I see." "Luckily I'm not wearing the uniform, otherwise my handywork would be all for naught..." She grabs her bags she had set on the floor. "I'm gonna find my room and offload the cargo, then I'd be more than happy to continue the conversation. I mean this isn't heavy by any means to me but... it's awkward."
  17. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki took a deep breath, straightening out the collar of her bomber jacket, gritting her teeth realizing this... wasn't Rot's fault. "Name's Mizuki. The press has been calling me the next "Torpedo Lass"... don't blame them as I'm sporting an exact copy of the first one's powers almost... And that aura would explain everything." She quirked her head, setting down her bags with a thud, her eyes glowing a bit. "See... I'm usin' every ounce of willpower just to not snap your head off verbally.. and now that I understand WHY it's happening, it's helping... how in the heck do ya cope?" She massaged her temples. "I'm gonna have such a headache when this is over with..."
  18. Torpedo Lass II Torpedo Lass grinned, and with a standing long-jump closed to such a range that the two could bro-fist. But instead as she landed her body whipped around a bluish-green trail behind her foot that snapped against the face of Neon Spider. When Torpedo Lass was firmly planted from the kick again, she responded. "I got this one. Focus on the Hair-band reject. I got light-saber hands here." She said, smirking.
  19. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki smiled, taking Starshine's cookie. "Um... thanks." She said, looking over the chaotic situation. "Luckily only the first day should be this... off kilter... The green-haired girl is... energetic." When Consuelo returned to give a bracelet to Starshine for a moment Mizuki got a feeling like someone was walking on her grave, and she was at a loss for words. When someone angers her... Mizuki's first instinct is avoidance. Get away from the one angering her. But she froze... she had NEVER met the green haired girl before and she wants to send her to lights-out town. But... why is she feeling like this? Her feelings conflicted, she stood awkwardly.
  20. Is Strand Touchable? As in is she within visual range of me? I can do a long jump to close the distance and give her a whallop. NM I also got Neon Spider on my case... One moment. Gotta make a decision. Okay, gonna close the distance to close quarters with Neon Spider, then as I arrive I'm gonna try to knock her block off with a well placed Hullbreaking Strikes kick upside her thinkin' bits. The swing: 22 DC 17 Toughness, Bludgeoning, Autofire.
  21. Initiative : 1d20+1 15 Not bad for a pseudo-tank.
  22. ok I'm in and got a few days off.
  23. Torpedo Lass II The doors come open as who comes walking through would be at home in some sort of science fiction setting with giant robots... in this case nautical ones. Mizuki stretched herself out as she walked in, looking over the other students. "'ey. Was having a hard time deciding to take the uniform I put together through it's paces, or just put on the blue and gold." She looked around in the Doom Room and whistles. "Looks like the Holodeck from Star Trek." She smiled. "This place keeps on surprising."
  24. Due to work schedule my posts will be slowed until Sunday night.
  25. Torpedo Lass II There was the scuffing of shoes heading up the stairs to the 5th Floor, Slowly rising up the stairs a girl no more than 5'6" with short blue hair, wearing an open bomber jacket, The bomber with the patch of a naval squadron active today on the right shoulder and... a oceanic research expedition patch under it? She seemed to have many interests as she came more into view emblazoned on her jacket. Everything from a first aid certification to the US flag, and a couple pins on the lapel of her jacket, that she bought after solving a couple escape rooms in Freedom City over the summer with her uncle. with a loose T-Shirt that read "I'd rather be SCUBA diving" on it, some loose fitting blue jeans and wearing what looked like a crew cap with the USS Carl Vinson on it on her head. The sneakers? Converse. Red. With the star. Classics. But it was the backpack and twin dufflebags in her hands that was odd... she had to have been carrying at least 300 pounds... like nothing! The backpack was packed to military infantry size... and the duffles were massive old life raft storage dufflebags repurposed and recycled into a new use. It was awkward, but she managed just fine. She noticed Neko scurrying off and she grinned. "Looks like I found the right floor." She stated. "Reminds me of my Uncle's cat back at the house."
