  1. So question, how can I pull off this intimidation thing you were talking about?
  2. Okay I'm going to focus on going fast and keeping that speed if there's any turns, and hopefully if there's power-ups snag them. Might need them. Note I'm at 1 HP. Not 2. The roll: 14 Not sure what'll happen, so I better use that last HP The Roll: The result on the die was an 8, since this was a HP reroll that means I rolled an 18, and with the +8 from my Reflexes plus the going fast bonus I got a 26.
  3. Torpedo Lass II This is it... she thought as she started hitting the turns, one after the other she timed her drifts perfectly, but Incindiary was keeping up even gaining slightly... seems he knew a thing or two about drift racing. But soon solid ground was running out as the ramp across the gap made it's appearance. Luckily on her last turn her nose was dead-on perfect and lined up for the jump. She floors it then at the last possible moment hits her jump... which somehow her kart was a natural at. "LETS GOOOOOOOO" She shouted as she started pulling tricks in the air, which somehow were keeping her ahead of Incindiary who was also pulling off some mad tricks. When she landed she lost no momentum... it almost seemed like she gained some as she pulled ahead of the pack. "How we doin' crew? Are we alright?" she asked as she had her eyes on the road, but her peripherals on her mirrors, noticing Incindiary was still hot on her heels. "I still got a tail but I'm gaining ground."
  4. Torpedo Lass II As Mizuki gets back on shore, her smartphone in her personal effects bag goes off. She runs back into the water, thankful her smartphone is in a waterproof and buoyant case, and swims over to one of the three single-person rafts and unties it, bringing it back to shore. She sets it down under a luckily placed gazebo that seems to have it's shade positioned right... the sun shouldn't bother things here. She sends a picture from her phone of the location and the raft to Lawrence.
  5. Torpedo Lass II "In the blue bag I got the stuff that don't inflate itself. Couple large rings, a Orca, some mattresses, and the battery powered pump with a couple solar panels for people's smart phones." She swims over to her practically huge yellow bag, pulling out a trio of large-purse size pouches. They inflate into smaller, single person rafts, which she ties to the main raft with their own lanyard-like ropes. "There we go... and these things got shade if needed. The stuff I salvaged from the family yacht before we sold it off..." She pushes herself in the water, heading to the beach proper. But taking her time. It's been a while since she's swam in warm ocean waters. Particularly as warm as these... "Missed this feeling."

  7. Okay first the driving... Driving beat DC 15 with a 16. Not losing speed. Second check... 17... still not losing speed. Drift queen over here!!! As for the jump, I got leaping... So a total bonus of +12 which nets me a 29! So beat that DC by over 1 margin of success and almost 2... (by nine).
  8. Only got a 17 on my toughness. https://orokos.com/roll/1000286 Using a HP to reroll. Reroll gave me a 24... tanked it. Will edit my IC.
  9. Torpedo Lass II The last of the Invincibility star wears off, and Torpedo Lass stops glowing. Seems Incindiary saw that and threw a fireball at her, but somehow, someway she managed to shrug it off. With only some smoke damage on her outfit, and some carbon scoring on her Kart in non-essential areas. "Looks like I'm back on the menu..." Looking over herself she's surprised she's still in costume. "Anyways, Find it odd that Professor Fathom isn't here?" She focuses on her driving. "Just need a power up and there's none to be found..." she thinks. Pushing her speed and steering as much as she could. Going Serpentine so she's harder to hit.
  10. Torpedo Lass II Once the last security guard is out, she gestures to them. "Run... there's some emergency response vehicles over that way..." She says pointing to where the rescue team was with their co-worker they plucked out of the bay. "Probably the safest place to be." She crouched down, her rain poncho draped over her body... "Anchors Aweigh...", and lept into the sky.... her aim was to join the fight, but first to make an impressive first impression...
  11. Alright, once I get the security guards seen off, I'm going to use my leap to get to the fight. Thing is once I land at the end of Turn 2, I'm going to use a HP to AP my leap to give a bonus to intimidation.
  12. Got a 9 on Initiative. Makes sense considering she hung back.
  13. Mizuki smiled. "Alright, I'm heading down to the beach to set up stuff. Shouldn't take long, the stuff I got either inflates on it's own or takes 15-20 seconds with my battery powered pump. Also got some solar panels if people wanna charge up their phones or whatever." She said, tossing one of them on a table nearby. "I'll have a couple others set up. Can't miss 'em. I'll be setting up, meet down at the beach in..." She looked at her watch... "...an hour. I'll give some pointers." Mizuki crouches down after adjusting all of her bags, puffing up her snorkeling vest in case she misses her mark. Luckily with all her bags being waterproof they're also airtight. So she won't sink... not that things matter for someone who only breathes as a social construct. "Off I go!" She leaps, landing on the beach cleanly. After setting her bags down she grabs the raft and starts swimming out with what looks like some rope and a heavy weight. She lets go of the raft and deflates her vest enough to be pulled down by the weight and sets it down, holding on to it tying one end of that rope to it, then swims up, her vest now able to send her to the surface. Spitting out some salt water she pulls on the string on her raft and it explodes into shape in a minute's time, a bright yellow, lots of stenciling of where the rope ladders were for boarding. Definitely looked military surplus. She tied the other end of the anchor rope to the raft and swam back to shore where her bags were. "That should keep it in place." She put her hands on her hips. "So glad I got some prior warning about this trip... gave me a ton of prep time."
  14. I plan on getting some speed, and getting control of the next power-up, while observing what is being planned by the three new interlopers. I know City Center has circular streets, so this will play well to my driftstyle I've been using. Just one question, are there multiple levels or ledges I could ride on by hopping up then hopping back down to the main road? Rolled a Modified 20.
  15. Torpedo Lass Consuelo was acting slightly odd, but then it dawned on her... "Actually before we start breaking up... how many of us are non swimmers? Might... be important to know. Worse comes to worse I could do a few lessons here... simple basics. The beach has a lot of shallow water to work with. With such a large group we can pretty much spot for each other while I show a few things that might help. Never know if being confident in the water will become an important asset." She knew people might be a bit reluctant to admit. "Besides... worse comes to worse it'd be an excuse to enjoy the beach for a couple of hours before we start queuing up the grill production." She smiled. "Any takers?"
  16. Torpedo Lass Mizuki rummaged through her bag as Baz talked. Gave her some inspiration. "Snorkeling is pretty much staying on the surface and looking down. Checking out the scenery below." She said, before tossing Baz a spare snorkeling vest. it was a bright fluorescent yellow color, practically a neon green, quite visible. "That should fit you easily. I always carry a backup of any personal kit... Just blow it up and you'll float like a cork, but you can look down at everything. You can let the air out pushing down on the mouthpiece on the mouth inflation tube. Although I'd wager you'd wanna do that on shore." "As for swimming lessons we can do that back home. Wanna make sure I got a controlled environment. That and the Doom Room can simulate any environment at sea, too. Safely. Perhaps others can join in if they wanna see how bad it can get out there... You will NOT like being on a freighter when a rogue wave comes outta nowhere." She smiled before turning to everyone. "So... should I start setting up my... or I should say OUR little island?"
  17. Note, TL should now be at 2 HP due to this post:
  18. Torpedo Lass TL waited until the two were away to deal with that flare that was fired off, then started looking for the security guards... they were easy to find. She started to rouse them to see if they were capable of walking. "Hey... hey... cheers luv, calvary's here! Oh that sounded so cringe... ahem... just stay calm. Can you walk? We gotta get your coworkers together so we can evacuate."
  19. Sounds completely like her, and she did let Baz and Lawrence know she was focusing on the guards first. So ya, I'll take that delay.
  20. Torpedo Lass She was glowing... as if every color of the spectrum was surging through her. Her speed was amplified, and so was she... The Koopa sneaking up on Consuelo had no chance. "Oh no you don't!" And she slammed into them, sending them spinning away... where to, she didn't know. But then there were a couple shots from the Omegadrones, one hitting her square in the shoulders... doing nothing. But there wasn't much time left. She knew power ups like this don't last very long. Then she saw two Koopas lining up on Lawrence. "Lawrence! On your 5 and 7! I'm using the last of my power up here so I'm rushing the one at 5 O'Clock to try to disrupt them!"
  21. My question is the status of the security guards that are supposed to be there. Is there an obvious clue as to their status... I doubt the company had just one security guard there.
  22. "Dad showed me a few things from his training. He figured it'd keep me safe on the mean streets wherever we were based. Little bit of SERE and CQC... nothing major. Enough to get out of someone's grip and make a run for it. Just now... now gotta dive into the fireworks." She sighed for a moment. "As for that greenish blue glow... bit of my 'inheritance' from the late Torpedo Lass... puts some force behind my punches... it seems to speed up my punches sometimes if I focus right. But it seems to happen randomly..."
  23. Torpedo Lass II Mizuki facepalmed. "Baz... that's it... you're getting swimming lessons once we get back home." "First rule while we're here... if baz is within 5 feet of any body of water here outside of a shower or bathtub, he wears a life vest." She says, kneeling down next to Baz and Parker. "I know some good first response stuff... mom made sure of it if I ever went with her on one of her oceanographic research trips. Thing is I've never tried to help a human/bug hybrid." "I think he should still have arteries going up the neck like we do."
  24. Torpedo Lass II Torpedo Lass massaged her chin. "If you're going to do that, make sure you always got an exit plan. In fact... extra addendum to your plan: Take Gamma Buzz with you. They'll be interested in a duo more than a solo. I can leap over to those cliffs and come in the back-way." She said, letting the air out of her vest under her poncho. "Just... don't look like you're gonna throw down. Talk... Knowing these types they run like a gang. Don't look like snitches." "Besides once I appear behind them like Solid Snake, that might shock them into action anyways. But I'm interested in seeing if there's other guards being held hostage first. I'm going to check on that first." She said that last bit, as if she was reminding them of something. "Uncle always says look out for the average joes first, then handle business. He's just a keyboard jockey, but he's got a solid head on his shoulders most of the time."
  25. Torpedo Lass looked over and saw the paramedics pulling up. "Might be a plan... They'll take the security guard up and see if he needs further aid, and get him warmed up." She then looked over to the amusement park. "I think we should make our move together, although we should get the skinny on what they're up to. I'm not much of a stealth person though. Although in one jump I could get into a hard to spot position and use it like a crow's nest and scope things out." She said, putting her yellow poncho back on, but wearing it in reverse where it was an olive drab green. "Reversible ponchos are so useful..." She pulled up the hood. "Got a different idea? I'm not 100% on mine."
