  1. Here it goes: 1d20+10=17 Not that good :/
  2. Nano drops all the points in her Psionic array in the Telekinetic Slam power and attacks the closer antibody with it. Can I take 10 for a to hit total of 20? With no points in Enhanced Flight, Nano is currently at Flight 1
  3. I think Mechanized can now be considered affiliated with Memorial and Corona, since she's been following them around for a bit now. Nano Angel is on call from AEGIS.
  4. As the pirates' shots all bouced harmlessly over the drone's skin, a single powerful Force Cannon blast blew its head right off. "That's how it's done!" smirked Emily, her armored frame rushing into battle with renewed vigor. "Come on, mighty Communion, where's your legendary strength? How are you going to conquer an empire if you can't even take down a single girl?" She knew she was bragging, but it felt good; it helped fend off the fear. And it was true that none of the drones had managed to do more than just bruise her.
  5. Mechanized shoots with her Force Cannon at the closest antibody. I take 10 using Accurate Attack: +1Attack/-1DC By the way, I'm assuming Mechanized is no longer dazed... right?
  6. Now, even if you lived the past ten years under a rock in the desert, purposefully avoiding each and every human contact and piece of information you could come across, you'd still know who The Scarab was. What one of, if not the most powerful psychic on Earth wanted from a newbie like Diane, she couldn't understand. Her wings and her telekinesis carried her from Freedom all the way to Central America, following the directions Scarab had given her, and she finally set down next to the other heroes at the telescope site. Her wings folded back on her shoulders in a clack. Her new costume, what little she needed anyway, included a white cape and hood that stressed the whole "avenging angel" theme, but Diane was more nervous that she let appear. She threw back the hood, revealing her red hair and the fine pattern of circuitry running under her face's skin. "Sorry for the delay, but whatever influence is affecting everyone made it hard for me to focus on my flight. I'm Nano Angel, pleased to meet you." As she listened to the Scarab's speech, she couldn't help but feel more and more uncertain about her role. These people were clearly all big leagues. They were discussing an entity so powerful it could affect the minds of a whole planet... and they all looked ready to take it on. That's what heroes do, isn't it? She finally had to ask. "Excuse me... I don't want to bother anyone, but why am I here exactly? I mean... you're all important heroes while I just came into my powers a short time ago. If I join you in this mission, I might be more burden than help, I'm afraid." And now you sound like a wimp, she thought. Way to make people proud of you.
  7. More stuff that might resemble Emily's armor. Thumbs up for the guy who's trying to take it down... with a bow.
  8. Diane was sitting in her lab, in the home AEGIS had set up for her. As always, when she needed to think, she was fiddling with the large amount of electronics that laid scrapped around the place. It wasn't a conscious though, more of an automatic reaction to stress. She had a lot of them, lately. Away from prying eyes, she could reap the benefits of her new anatomy fully. A tentacled woman was... disturbing for many people. Who was she fooling? It was disturbing even for her, although she was quickly getting used to it. In particular, she was using the tentacle-probes to hold whatever she neeed to have at hand, so her left hand was free for the very important task of stroking her cat Potato, who was sitting on her lap. "Something's wrong, 'tato, you know? It's as if someone was... pushing against my mental defenses. Not as forceful as when they're trying to access me through technological channels, but it's still there, very subtle. I wish I understood my powers better, then I could understand this thing better. I hate it when I'm in the dark."
  9. ok, how are we involved in this? does someone call us all to Arecibo?
  10. All of Emily's armor systems went haywire when the drone unexpectedly discharged the static attack. "No, no, no! Don't die on me, don't you dare!" she screamed, frantically routing power back to the systems through her backup manual commands. A trail af sweat started to form on her face, uncomfortably close to the creature's cold eyes, and she wondered if her armor was going to become her coffin. Just then, a punch torn the thing away from her and all her systems powered up again. She let out a sigh. "Thank you Mem. I though I was a goner, there..." she pulled herself together and stared around. "Hey, you called me Em. And your friend. That's nice! Head the way. I'll stay in the back... guarding this scum. They might be fighting the Communion now, but that doesn't mean they couldn't stab us in the back as soon as we're not looking. I think I can see them ogling my battlesuit already."
  11. Well, my character Nano Angel might use a team, but she's pseudo-affiliated to AEGIS since they're the ones who busted her out of confinement in a mad scientist's lab. If you could use a flying psychic mad scientist who just won't stay dead, she's the girl for you. Oh, she used to play bass guitar too. As an amatour.
  12. I'm throwing in a new character concept; considering it puts together several tropes of sci-fi there might be something like this around already. It'ìs also quite unrefined so far, but I'm throwing down the basic idea, which is that of a variable-powered hero with three personalities: each one has its own power set, and it can shift between them. Player Name: Souffle_Girl Character Name: Gestalt Power Level: 10 (150/150PP) In Brief: Three minds in a single, more than human, body Catchphrase: "We used to be three, but we trascended our human nature and became one. We are Gestalt." Alternate Identity: Martha Konig Identity: Secret Birthplace: see Occupation: Retired. NASA consultant. Description: Age (Apparent): 30 Gender: biologically female. Different personalities have different genders. Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 172 cm Weight: 57 Kg Hair: Dark brown. Eyes: Golden For a being of cosming power, Gestalt is surprisingly unassuming in appearance, looking like any other young woman at a glance. In combat, Gestalt wears a pearl white bodysuit with matching mask and cape. Power Descriptions: Not a single being, but three minds sharing a single body, Gestalt can manipulate the cosmic energy they are infused with in different ways, depending on the persona that controls the body at the time. John's persona is the most martially attuned, he's your typical paragon - super strength and endurance, flight and energy blasts. Martha's persona attunes her cosmic energy to life. She can sap life force from enemies to increase her own, or sacrifice her energy to heal allies. Edward's persona is the most wise, knowledgeable and smart and acts as a counsellor and tactician. History: Project Pathfinder was going to be the most ambitious undertaking NASA ever committed to. Driven by the genius of Dr. Edward Harrison, the inventor of the first prototype of faster than light drive, this three men deep space exploration mission would be the cown's jewel of the Western space program, and the last nail in the Soviet's space missions. On April 21st, 1971 a small spacecraft left Earth. The crew consisted of Major John Brookes, pilot; Dr. Martha Konig, the most brilliant of NASA's xenobiologists, and Dr. Harrison himself. It would ave been a great day for mankind. Except, it wasn't. On ignition, Dr. Harrison's FTL drive malfunctioned and the spacecraft was simply swallowed out of existance, forcing the NASA to cancel the program and never divulge its disastrous results to the public. What their mission command didn't know, however, was that the Pathfinder survived - it was merely thrown off course, drifting through deep space at breathtaking speed, carrying its crew far past the borders of our Solar System. It was there, in the deep and cold void, that the Pathfinder crew found someting, a being of enormous power and yet utterly alien to biological life, something so wonderful and different from humans to be completely unthinkable. It appeared as an anomaly, a vortex in space that couldn't possibly exist, but in its own way it was alive, and sentient. When it sensed humans approaching, it tried to communicate, but it overestimated their resistance. What was communication to it, to them was an attack. In moments, Maj. Brookes and Dr. Harrison were killed. The entity, learning from its mistake, found a suitable way to communicate to something so weak as the third being - telepathy. It told Martha that it was sorry for what it had done, but it was willing to make something about it. If she was willing to host them, it could transfer the minds of her fallen companions into her own body. It would also provide her with a gift - a sum of its own power, and a course back home. She accepted. What NASA recovered from the landing site of the Pathfinder, more than thirty years later than its departure, was hardly human anymore. Dr. Konig might still look like her old self - remarkably, not a day seemed to have passed for her - but inside, she bristled with barely contained power. Even more, what once was a single creature had become a multi-faceted being. The three personas of Martha, Jack and Edward all shared the same mind and the same body, emerging in turns. Gestalt, as the new being aptly decided to be called, became a counsellor to mankind on all matters alien and cosmical - and when the needs arised, they donned their costume to bring the fight to those that would threaten the world. Personality & Motivation: coming Powers & Tactics: Gestalt's approach to combat is as varied as they are. From John's shock and awe tactics, to Martha's buff/debuff, with Edward coming into play when it's time to plan, discuss and investigate. Gestalt is a jack of all trades but, as usual, a master of none.
  13. I'm signing Nano Angel up for phase two, and Trailblazer for a vignette. I have to point a few things up about Mechanized though. I know she's currently involved in Phase 1 events, but there's no way she's going to sit back and watch the Communion ravage Earth if she can help it. In particular: - After the events of Opportunists and Opposition, if she gets wind that the Communion might threaten Earth, she will send a message home to warn them. In particular, her family being a huge weapon manufacturer must have some leverage in military environments - assuming they take her seriously of course. - If she somehow suspects that the Communion is going to attack Earth soon, she's going back unless given a really, really good reason to stay, to the point of possibly confronting any Lor that assumes that Earth is too backwater to be cared about. So, if she suspects the Communion is going to attack, she has the time and a way to return to Earth and she's not unable to do so, she'll be in Freedom City and take part in the fight. (A nice change of pace could be for her to be involved in actually convincing people the Communion is coming, rather than fighting. Sort of what goes on in Mass Effect. Not that I want to take the place of the GMs )
  14. Oh, OK. I'm going to keep it and save an hero point.
  15. You have no idea. Every meal is... something like 50% more than normal.
  16. Not sure I can keep up with this, Incursion is really sucking me in...
  17. Emily turned to face the last drone just in time to see it fending off the pirates' attacks. She smirked and charged right at it, expecting to crush it. She couldn't be more wrong. The creature braced for the hit and rolled back in a surprisingly agile movement, immediately ready to fight back. Emily cursed under her breath and got ready for another blow. "This isn't over...."
  18. Still, an alien invasion would be an awesome party crasher too
