  1. So nice! I already have a portrait of Mechanized, but I'd love one of her in battle armor...
  2. If there's a spot left, Emily will happily join in.
  3. Nooooh! Why did you have to get my hopes up again, it's cruel! I got into MMORPGs too late to ever play CoH, but I heard about the legends...
  4. I'm considering starting playing again and... well, this is just Emily's cup of tea.
  5. Hi! I'm feeling kind nostalgic of this site, so I thought to pop back in and maybe join an adventure with Emily again... How are you guys?
  6. I don't think we have to scrap the Flying Fortress idea altogether, maybe it can be recycled as a HQ for a team of superheroes? As for AEGIS: being infiltrated by an AIM like organization is nice. When I created Nano, I came up with a story about how she was used as a living supercomputer by a hacker-type villain, Cyberskull (think of Mass Effect 2 - Overlord and you'll have a good idea of what I'm talking about). It all was going to be revealed during Nano's origin adventure To Tame an Angel, which unfortunately never started, in which the PCs, on behalf of AEGIS, would bust the secret lab where Nano was held prisoner and would have to walk through all the automated defenses controlled by Nano herself, who had been hacked into thinking the PCs were her enemies. As you can guess, this all left her with a burning hathred against Cyberskull and his organization - possibly the same ECHO we're talking about here. Now imagine that some high level guy in AEGIS was contacted by ECHO after the raid. They were very close to unravel the mystery of why Diane was turned into a superhuman being when she got the nanites, while every other test subject devolved into bestial monsters. They're tempting AEGIS with the idea of getting their own super-agents, in exchange for the main test subject. Or, if we want to keep things on a more manageable level, AEGIS is doing a terrible job in contrasting ECHO. They find out that a few key people inside AEGIS are corrupt, and are acting as double agents, and they have to sniff out the moles before they do something wery dangerous (like planting bombs somewhere, or compromising a very delicate operation, such as protecting a political figure).
  7. Yes, sorry. I've been a little caught up with things in RL lately. I'll post today.
  8. I want Nano in this soooo bad. She's basically an AEGIS agent, but how far can her superiors be trusted? Will she become a double agent, when she finds out these people want to infiltrate AEGIS? And with her tech-based and telepathy powes, will she gather information from inside? Even better: I never determined exactly what supervillainous organization Diane was unkowingly working for before her transformation... And ECHO fits the bill perfectly! Someone inside AEGIS might even want to sell her back to them as part of the bargain, and get rid of a nuisance at the same time... I'm in love with this plot.

  10. Mechanized Emily was positively furious. No sooner had she returned from a tiring mission in space that she was flooded with more work, and now this jerk showed up again with his oversized ego just to prove the world how good he supposedly was. With her now trademark roar of engines, she landed on the concrete floor before the bank's main entrance, the ground shaking under the strain of tons of steel while the police cordoning the area cautiously stepped back. "Hello, Jeff! You know, I'm really fed up with your meddling. If it's a duel you want, you'll have one. On live TV. And I swear I'll kick you so hard, you'll run licking your wounds all the way to Earth Victoriana!"
  11. Blue Jay is just perfect for this adventure! And with this, the recruitment is officially over. IC thread >here OOC thread >here
  12. OOC thread for >this thread - robotic mayhem ahead! If you haven't guessed it already, Steampunk is inspired to one of my favorite tabletop games, Warmachine. @EternalPhoenix: if you're OK with it, Mechanized could have called Terrifica in for backup, since they already worked together. @The Osprey: Feel free to involve Endeavor in whatever way you want. I'll see if Raveled adds a character to this too. EDIT: And Blue Jay is in this too! We're ready to go!
  13. GM Post Freedom City Bank, Wading Way, February 27th 2015 A man in his forties, his short hair starting to turn gray, stood grinning in front of the camera; he was dressed in an odd looking uniform that would suit a late 19th century military officer better than a modern day man, modified however with what looked like a steam boiler carried as a backpack, connected by tubes and pipes to the strange rifle the man was currently waving around. Behind him, the bank's surveillance cameras showed a number of robots in a similar Jules Verne fashion, some human-sized and carrying pikes or rifles, others larger, busy rounding up the terrified people that were until moments before going on with their day to day business. "For those who don't know me, my name is Steampunk, and I'm here to make a statement. Emily Stenford, better known as Mechanized, you fancy yourself a heroine and a savior of Freedom City, thanks to the high-tech suit you're wearing. A suit that by all means should have been developed by me! But I guess it was easy for Daddy's girl to get me fired and keep all your company's high tech gear for yourself. No matter! Look at what I have accomplished, with steam technology and magic alone! Come face me, if you dare, and I will show you once and for all, on live TV, who's the best engineer! Or perhaps, you're too coward to show up, and you'll leave all these innocent hostages in my hands?"
  14. Who's that, Rav? Feel free to throw Corona in the bunch, this takes place after Incursion. As for Terrifica and Endeavor, count them in!
  15. Hello! Now that she's back to Earth, I have a little plot in mind that involves my character Mechanized. Time to introduce her arch-enemy, Steampunk! Formerly an engineer working for Emily's father, he was fired for stealing parts from work to create his personal robot prototypes, and over time he devolved into a Doc Ock wannabe. He also picked up magic skills and a way integrate them with steampunk style robots, before returning as a supervillain. In particular, he hates Emily because he believes her father favored her over himself, and the grudge only worsened when Emily beat him up a couple of times. Now, he's back for more. He holds civilian hostages and won't let them go until Emily comes over and fights him and his robot minions! This is going to be a good old superhero brawl, and I'm looking for a couple of heroes to help Emily along. To keep this thematic, I'd rather have tech or robot themed heroes.
  16. The problem with Diane is location: she doesn't look human, so she's likely to attract lots of attention wherever she goes, and she still has a villain with a grudge against her. If you can think of a place where they can have a chance meeting, then it's OK. I really want to do a social thread with her, as I feel I've been neglecting her. She's a complex character and I feel she'd be rewarding to play.
  17. The Gunslinger Player Name: Souffle_Girl Character Name: Capacitor Power Level: 7 (105/105PP) In Brief: Defender of the weak and discriminated, gifted with energy generation and projection powers. Catchphrase: "Power up!" Alternate Identity: Rachel Bright Identity: Secret Birthplace: London, UK Occupation: tbd Description: Tall blonde girl on the thin side, with golden eyes that glow according to her charge status (see powers). In battle she wears a golden jumpsuit with a red sash, gloves and boots, and hides her face and eyes with a mask and goggles. Age: 23 Gender: female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 170 cm Weight: 62 Kg Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Golden. Power Descriptions: As the name suggests, Capacitor is a mutant with energy generation, storage and projection powers. Energy Generation - Rachel constantly generates and stores an energy of a still unknown nature. As a side effect of Rachel's mutation, her eyes turned golden and they glow accordingly to how much energy she's storing. Charging up completely takes Rachel about three days. Energy Discharge - Rachel can discharge the energy she stores in small bursts or in a large, radial discharge. When discharged, the energy takes the form of a golden lightning arc. Energized Body - Rachel's energy stores augment her strength and toughness; the more energy she's storing, the larger the boost. Rachel generates energy out of food through normal metabolism, meaning she needs to eat far more than a regular human or risk death by starvation. Also, there's an upper limit to how much energy she can store, and when her reserves are full she discharges uncontrollably and explosively. In the past her full capacity was very limited, leading to frequent and ebarrassing uncontrolled discharges, but it steadily grew over a few years to her current maximum. It's not sure if it's going to increase further. History: Rachel was born in London, her father is a construction worker and her mother a shop clerk. She has two older siblings, Kate (25) and Gregory (28). Growing up, Rachel was very fond of her sister, and the two of them have always been inseparable, even more when they grew into puberty. It was then however, that Rachel realized she had no interest in boys, and was attracted to girls instead. He revealed this to Kate, who was very supportive. Rachel became a staple part of Kate's circle of friends, who probably suspected there was something about her sexuality she wasn't telling, but apparently didn't mind. Rachel wasn't sure about how to tell the rest of her family about her condition. Fate conspired against her, however, as her parents one day overheard her talking with Kate about a crush she had for one of her friends. Rachel tried to explain her condition to her family, but her parents didn't want to have anything to do with it, refusing to accept her. Even worse, Gregory had caught wind of the news, and started to mercilessly pick on Rachel despite Kate's attempts to protect her, going as far as spreading rumors about his sister at their school. Rachel became the laughing stock of the school, and she retreated even deeper into her books, comics and videogames as a mean to escape reality. Things, however, were going to get even worse. Rachel started to feel ill. Specifically, she developed an itch that, no matter what, wouldn't go away. The itch grew worse and worse over a few days, and she was just coming back from a visit at her doctor when she ran into one of the bullies from school. He started insulting her, then puched her in the face – and at that moment, Rachel discharged a blast of golden energy all around her. The blast wasn't powerful enough to seriously injure the bully, that however ran away screaming "mutant". Soon, a crowd had gathered and the police had taken Rachel in for interrogation. To Rachel's parents, this was the last straw, and when one of Rachel's relatives who lived in Freedom City offered to take care of her, Rachel's parents were more than happy to get rid of their twice-freakish kid by sending her overseas. In Freedom, Rachel found out that the grand-uncle that had taken her in apparently had... connections, and had found her a place where she would be trained as a superheroine: Claremont Academy. Her time at the Academy was a happy one, and she was happy to have finally found a place where people didn't judge her, and she finally graduated full of desire to put her powers to good use. Today, a new masked heroine has hit the street, fighting evil to defend the weak and innocent. Personality & Motivation: Powers & Tactics: Character Sheet
  18. Emily (Mechanized) and Miss Americana have lots of affinities. My character is the heiress of a high tech military firm and a robotic expert too, so they'll likely know each other already, but that doesn't mean they would have socialized much before. Emily is shy in social situations and everyone knows she's a transsexual, so she gets a lot of pressure in "nice" circles. Diane (Nano Angel) could use some company too, she's a former engineer who was infected with alien nanomachines. Kind of a Venom/Seven of Nine/Phoenix mash-up, and she's been experimented upon by a supervillain for months before being freed by AEGIS. As a result, she thinks she's a monster and suffers from serious post traumatic stress disorder. In short, she's a nutcase.
  19. What's with Emily and dinosaurs? XD Notice check: 1d20+7=19 Current Events, I have no idea what skill it falls under so I'm rolling the d20 only. 1d20=1 lol
  20. A roar from her armor's jump pack signalled Mechanized's appearance on the scene, as she landed near the huge dinosaur in a cloud of dust and smoke, piloting her trademark ten feet tall black battlesuit, bristling with high-tech weaponry. Just in time to register a blue armored hero jumping in melee with the beast. "Looks like the show started without me!" Emily pointed her Force Cannon at the creature and was about to take a shot when the man suddenly turned into, or maybe summoned, a large blue armored gorilla, of all things! The girl was dazzled for a moment, before pointing her gun again, her armor's computer tracking the two fighters. "At least, I won't be the one going toe to toe with a dinosaur this time."
  21. Nano keeps attacking Antibody 1 with her TK Slam at DC 25. No Defensive Attack this time though. 1d20+10=24
  22. Mechanized (2) >Incursion: Opportunists and Opposition (2) Nano Angel (1) >Incursion: Mind over Matter (1)
  23. It's Marvel's free to play MMORPG, available on Steam. You play as one of some thirty Marvel characters, with new ones added regularly. You get to choose a starting character from a list of half a dozen ones, then you can unlock more later. There's a story mode which is basically single player, random missions assigned as soon as you reach level 20, raids, and a PvP currently in beta. It's free in that you don't pay to play, you can use money to unlock stuff but you can eventually unlock it in game too, without spending a coin. Currently I'm playing Phoenix and Psylocke, and I unlocked a few more heroes including Widow, Gambit, X-23 and Silver Surfer. If you feel like playing and want to look me up, I'm Laura_Elle there. Oh, and I play Avengers Alliance too, if you want to add me.
