  1. I leave tomorrow to make a trip up to visit my school buddies. I'll likely be gone all weekend. I apologize for my absence in advance. Please plan accordingly.
  2. Zach shook his head, "Don't apologize." He was used to not being close to people, so Gwen's rebuff didn't sting all that much. This rejection thing isn't that bad. Don't know what all those articles were talking about. he thought to himself. "You don't owe me anything. Least of all an explanation. I'm just glad we're still friends. I'm glad that you're not mad at me for this afternoon. Zach started walking away from the tree, "I think that's enough fresh air for one night for me. I'm going back inside where it's stuffy. But, you'll keep what I told you secret, right?" Zach smiled sweetly, gave Gwen a wave, and stuck his hands in his pockets. He began a slow walk back to the dormitory, electing not to use his flight. He had a lot to think about.
  3. Blueshift is going to leave the pilot to Torque as he's already nearby. Instead, she and Mac are going to drop through that hole in the body of the plane and take a look around. Any rolls? Search? Investigation? etc? She'll take 20 with quickness on anything she can. Once the smoke clears she's going to go all predator. She'll cycle through a litany of extra senses on her sight every round with a standard action (thanks to gadgets) until she turns up something that she can identify or track or what have you. Is that cool? All notice checks can take 20 as well.
  4. Blueshift finally finished ruining the set up of the circle. All at once... nothing happened. The techno savant was at a loss. "But that should have..." She looked all around her, and finally saw the motionless crowd. Fumbing with her belt, she drew a small device and held it to her lips. "Attention, Haitians! Please proceed to your homes in an orderly manner. This area is not safe!" They didn't respond. They didn't move. They didn't even acknowledge that she was speaking to them over her miniature loudspeaker. Her brain calculating things at a lightning speed, she realized what the problem was, "Push! They won't move! What did you do? What's holding them? We need to get them out!"
  5. Either is fine. Include whatever you go with in your IC once you do the write up.

I do not usually comment on threads like this. But I agree so wholeheartedly with one thing that Shaen mentioned that I feel the need to share one of my favorite JLU moments in response to this: Agreed. Superman has taught us this: Ywo6F4xYTvA
  7. Zach breathed a deep sigh of relief. "Well, that's a relief." He looked down at his sneakers again, "Honestly, I don't think I would know how to do the 'relationship thing'." For his own part, Zachary wasn't even sure what the 'relationship thing' was. He was working from context clues, and was able to half assume that said 'relationship thing' was one of the serious, romantic type. Perhaps her relationship with Brian might be romantic, but it didn't sound serious. At least not coming from her. Zach imagined Brian telling it differently. Zach whirled around, letting his mouth get the best of him and go off running itself again he said, "When we went to 'get the pizzas' today. Brian took me aside and 'explained' about what was going on between the two of you. I'd be careful. He made it sound more serious than you do. And from what happened after you passed out," Zach hesitated. He didn't want to slander his fellow classmates. He wasn't sure if anything like this was covered under 'may the best man win' scenarios, but Brian had attacked him. Gwen deserved to know about it, right? "He probably didn't tell you. He probably doesn't want you to know how he attacked me because he thought I'd hurt his girlfriend. I think he's got temper problems. I'm not sure if it's ever happened before, but from the way that Corbin stepped in to break us up, it sounded as if he was well used to diffusing such situations." Zach slid down the trunk of the tree to sit next to Gwen again. "I'm not trying to tell you what to do or think. But there was another reason I wanted to see you out here. Besides the explanation I owed you, that is. I wanted to let you know that even though I've only been here a few days, I like spending time with you." Zach looked away for a second, when he turned back, he asked sheepishly, "I was hoping maybe you can tell me what to do or think?"
  8. After that is Blueshift. She uses her Gadgets to make a communication power akin to a megaphone. She'll spend her move action addressing the crowd. Marceau is up. He's no longer stunned. Would you like to use Extra Effort to stunt something that will get you back to shore somehow? Let me know what your ideas are and we can discuss your options.
  9. Well, his Def is 11 this turn from his previous trade offs. So both attacks would hit, regardless of stunning or not. Also, it's the second round of Jube's Master Plan, so you're only on a +2 bonus this round. Either way... 10. Well, there's a nice long juicy post. I've taken some narrative liberties, I hope you don't mind. Though if anything needs to be changed, let me know and I'll see to it.
  11. "ä»æ…ˆçš„諸神"* Jin prayed in his own language, when he saw the horrors of the inner control room. His eyes strayed from the obvious threat, to the subtle one. If this truly is the mind of Dr. Archeville, he thought as his eyes came to rest on the operating table and the cages where the Viktor Archeville that he remembered had been dissected, Then his spirit is very nearly broken. The expression on the mask of Jin's costume hardened. He strode to where the pieces of Dr. Archeville lay strewn across the tables. As he gazed into what used to be his eyes, before they had been removed, the expression softened and grew peaceful, "Hey now, Doctor, ya gotta listen to me, ya know?" he spoke softly so as not to upset the severed head's bleeding ears, "None of this is real. Your spirit is dreaming. Your soul wanders from your body, broken and alone. But have no fear. You are not alone any longer." The Mad Doktor charged forward with the massive sword of pure light. Ferros threw up a hand, and blocked his advance. The chaos that reigned within the maddened mind before him was strong, but it could not compete with the serenity that flowed through Ferros' blood. He turned back to the pieces of the broken Archeville, to see that the head now had eyes and it's ears were no longer bleeding. "Good, you have eyes. Close them, relax, and let my words guide your mind back to us. You have walked long within a valley. A valley cut by a glacier of chaotic thoughts and madness instead of reason. Such valleys exist within nature. As do the glaciers that created them. But even nature sees fit to let such glaciers melt after they run their course. Lest we would not have our peaceful lakes and our pure mountain streams. Lest we would not have science and reason. Lest we would be without a great mind like you." The Mad Doktor was at war with Phantom, the two fired energy blasts back and forth at each other. Ferros saw an opening. As the Mad Doktor raised a hand to launch an attack, Ferros tugged at the metals in his gauntlet clad fist. The lobstered steel of the gauntlet pulled to the left, sending the blast into the floor rather than it's intended target. Ferros turned his attention back to the Viktor Archeville that he knew. He saw that the head was now affixed to his torso, which only moments earlier had been suspended above a vat of acid on a large meat hook. Good, Ferros thought, It is working. *Merciful Gods
  12. There had once been a gunfight in his own world. He had been acting as temporary sheriff in a small town at the time. There had been a lot of men with guns and black cowboy hats. Then, as now, something happened to Colt that he seldom let himself experience. He got lost in the fight. He knew that he was firing his guns. He knew that the bullets were hitting their mark - they always hit their mark. He just wasn't processing what was going on around him. One moment he was running for cover while firing pot shots with his pistol. He dove to avoid the creature's massive lashing tentacles... Another moment, he was crouched behind a collapsed wall of a house. His rifle was propped up on a sturdier piece of rubble. Every time he saw an opening, a weak spot, or a chink in the creature's armor, he put a bullet there. Every time it grew an extra eye stalk, he shot it clean off. Every time one of the other interceptors opened a fresh wound, his bullets were like salt sprinkled on it. But the creature became wise to his tactics. More tentacles swept the building away whole. Colt dug himself from the wreckage a moment later. Shakily, he stood. Reached deep into one of the pockets on his coat, and withdrew a single long rifle bullet with a red, blinking tip. "Doggone creature's bigger'n Texas." He said, wiping blood from his mouth, and slipping his last bullet into the chamber. "Reckon I'd better make this here shot count. What's th'phrase? Freedom City jus' ain't big'nuff." Colt lined up his shot. He exhaled calmly. He slowly depressed the trigger. A beam of white hot energy shot from the end of his rifle. It was a good three feet wide at it's source, and seemed to grow more fearsome as it traveled. The energy from his rifle cut through the Eldritch monster like a hot knife through butter. It left an oozing, pussing, quaterized wound through the center of the beast that was the size of a large horse. Colt was so concentrated on delivering the blow, he never saw that last tentacle...
  13. Would it be appropriate to have Ferros use some zen stuff to talk to the good archeville and try to keep him sane and out of shock as perhaps Phantom uses magic to piece him back together or something?
  14. Even as her EMNetting came offline, and the transformers on that block blew sparks and malfunctioned, Blueshift breathed a sigh of relief. There had been no collision, there had been no casualties. She once again poked around at her belt, and attached a modulator to her Visor. She dialed in the settings, and before long, she could make out things within the smog cloud and other major interferences near the Danger!-Jet. She hurried over to where the wreckage had been set down by torque. Calling up from street level she asked the armored hero, "Hey Torque?! Anyone in there?" Meanwhile, Mac was busy making a report with emergency services, "This is Nine-one-one, aren't you not supposed to put me on hold? What? Oh, yea, Giant plane crash. Midtown. No. I'm not using a Stephen Hawking Voice Modulator. No, this is not a prank, it's a real emergency. We need police and possibly ambulances! For crying out loud, we just landed the Danger!-Jet on the street!"
  15. That puts Blue back at her starting HP value. She's going to gadgets up Counters Obscure Hearing and Vision, then wade into the obscured area. (Standard and Move)
  16. Supercape nodded to Blueshift, even as she was taking cover behind a car. The cape clad hero used his powers to produce a sort of emergency runway for the plane to use. Even Torque was standing directly in it's path in an attempt to reduce it's momentum. She couldn't just stand there. She had to do something. "Mac! Give me an Electronic Access/Interface Port! Lamp post, there!" Blueshift commanded her assistant robot, and pointed at the electrical panel on a near by lamp post. "Coming right up!" Mac practically attacked it with a multitude of manipulators and screwdrivers. In less than a second, the panel was removed, and the wiring exposed. Mac attached a few manipulators to some of the more important wires, to make it easier for Blueshift to fiddle with them. Blueshift knelt next to the lamp post and began fiddling with some wires as fast as her fingers could manage. It would be a rush job, but it would work. Her inventions always worked. Thanks to the messy electrical currents in the area, a lot of the electrical sources like street signs and neon devices were a little more attractive to each other than usual. She used the power cells from her suit to over boost that connection and created a link between four or five devices on both sides of the street. Irridescent blue static currents rushed between lamp posts and neon advertisement signs. Then between them, more visible currents began cris-crossing and overlapping forming an elaborate system of netting like a weave. The net hung just above the runway created by Supercape, and the place where Torque stood. She supplied even more power from her suit, hoping that it would take some of the mustard off the plane that was being pitched at the brave hero about to field it. "Come on! Come on! Hold tight!"
  17. Either her Int or her Quickness would produce a similar power, it's just 6pp rather than 7pp. Would, "A Net designed to catch or slow the plane's descent" be an appropriate descriptor for any of the above? Instead of using a giant hand like green lantern, it's just a glowing blue cargo net formed from electric technojiggery... I could even say the static electric nature of the net means that it can only stop metallic objects... Move Object 12 ("Static Cargo Net"; Flaws: Limited to Objects, Distracting) [6pp] Or Drain Kinetic Energy 12 ("Static Cargo Net"; Extras: Area/Burst, Range/Ranged; Flaws: Limited to Metal Objects [-2], Distracting) [6pp] Which do you think would be most apropos to use?
  18. If she power stunts off her gadgets she has 7pp to spend on the following: Create Object 12 ("Static Net"; Flaws: Permanent, Feedback; PF: Progression) [7pp] If it's meant to "Support Weight" it is treated as having a STR score of 5x it's rank. (12*5=60) STR 60 Heavy Load is 50 tons. A net like that should be able to support the weight of the plane. It's Permanent because it's "Hard Light" It's an actually created item. It'll need to be taken down after it catches the plane. It's got feedback because she's using her suit to power the structure. She's wired into the netting itself. If it suffers damage, her suit is going to feel the backlash. Is any of this allowable?
  19. This type of disaster control isn't really Blue's forte either... Though with your permission, I might be able to try stunting or using gadgets to come up with some sort of create object effect: A net made of solid and pure static electricity arcing between to street lamps that might help catch the plane. Would that even work? Would there be any applicable flaws or extras that might need to be used? Should could 'tap in' to the power in the street lamps via gadgets or something. I'll wait for suggestions before I actually type anything up. Though it might look something like, Create Object X ("Static Net"; Flaws: Limited to Localized Electronic Sources [point A, point B]) or something along those lines.
  20. It's as good as any other. And it's either that or 'Valent'. Yea, 'Cove' works. "Cube said it. We could tell you approximately where they are. But, like us, they tend to move. Their numbers are such that they can occupy a decent section of these tunnels, yet not actually stay in any one place within their territory, from what I've seen. Now that we know that they're organized and not just wandering, the behavior is very consistent with guard patrols. Perhaps with knowledge of the tunnel system we can slip past the exterior guard and strike at the center of their command before they know what hit them." Zach finished his 'report' with a quick salute. He brought his right fist up beside his temple touching his thumb to the side of his head, then lowering his hand. Suddenly realizing he was not reporting to a CO, he added, "That is if you're looking to stop whatever operation they've got going."
  21. I agree. Scrutinize all you want. If you start making serious accusations, or calling their bluffs, I would expect Zach might privately confess to others that he trusts. Gwen would be one of those. If you press the subject really hard, he would probably cave and just ask you to promise not to tell anyone. ;)
  22. "It does." Zach agreed quietly. Zach felt something catch in his throat. The lump hovered between his chest and his neck. It felt like there was something trying to get out. Words he wasn't sure he should say just wanted out. Before he knew what he was doing, he was talking, "Gwen, I have to be honest. I like you. I do." His eyes were transfixed on the laces of his shoes, "But I don't know what...I've never been... I don't know how to do this. After this afternoon, I would be really upset if anything hurt you. Especially if it was me. So before I say anything else that could potentially result in disaster, are you and Brian... Well, what are, 'you and Brain'?" He finally looked up at her, "Is that a thing? Is that not a thing? If it's a thing, what type of thing is it? I... I'm probably talking way too much. I probably shouldn't have asked that." He shook his head, "Just forget I asked that." Zach abruptly stood, turned away, and placed his left hand on the trunk of the tree. His eyes turned up toward the sky and his thoughts began to drift away toward the stars...
  23. Zach returned his sister's sending, Ha, wow! I wonder when the launch is? After she requested Cole's help, Zach finally realized what his sister thought of the boy. Guess I should find another project to work on for the meantime. Don't need to strong young guys holding helping you caulk windows. I'll make myself be somewhere else for a while. Go easy on him, 'eh sis? Zach said with a smile. He passed Cole as Cole was approaching the construction site, "Looks like you're up to bat, man. I guess I just wasn't working the gun properly or something. But she wants your help so... 'Give your sister what she wants,' right?"
