  1. So what happens with the Interpose, then?
  2. I've edited my post after finding out the training rooms aren't common knowledge. Sorry!
  3. The silent conversation continued between the twins as Zach responded, All wonderful ideas, O Smart One. Though as it happens, I may already have stumbled onto them by myself. We'll have to see whether or not Gwen still feels like showing up tonight. Zach raised his chin a little, swelling with pride. Now Zach's expression was a mixture of worry, and unease, I'm not so sure that Duncan Summers would be so keen on us placing tunnels under the structure of his school. "No lie," Zach piped up, finally contributing to the audible conversation, "Subterranean habitation is the new way to beat the heat this summer. Frankly, it's the new black."
  4. I don't think Zach needs to make the save. But I'll throw up a Notice check all the same. He gets a 20 via skill mastery. Would Jeena need to save? In case it needs saying, Zach is going to interpose for Jeena at the first sign of trouble. By our house rules, he can interpose for anyone within range of one move action. In sparse form he has flight 4. He can also pass directly through any walls or characters between himself and her. To speed things up, I'll throw up a Saving Throw just in case it's needed. Dex Save; Result +6 if it's actually a REF save. (1d20+2=7) That's ugly. I reserve the right to HP re-roll that once I find out what's actually going down...
  5. Not wasting any time, the Tracer dove into his truck and fired up the engine. The big vehicle peeled out, fishtailing in the sand and pulled a quick 180 degree turn. It barreled across the sand toward the end of the row of houses. Finally, it skidded to a stop in full view of Blueshift and the magic circle she was busy trying to disrupt. Meanwhile, the Powerhouse was busy being angry and having moved quite a distance under something other than his own power. In his mind, it was the perfect time to retaliate. He picked himself up off the ground and dusts off some of the sand. Looking up to see Push making himself a nice easy target in the air, he smiled. The sand around his feet exploded outward as the massive man gave a mighty leap into the air. Just as he was about to make contact with the Kinetic Controller, he thrust his kneecap forward delivering the blow directly to Push's solar plexus. A nasty smile spread across his face as he dropped to the ground on the shore side of the developments having been carried forward by his momentum.
  6. Geez3r..... You hurt my brain sometimes. @#$% it. My previous decision to EMP the vehicles stands. And if I have to state it, she'll aim the attack such that she doesn't get caught in the radius.
  7. Just because you can make an immediate recover check doesn't mean you can ignore the fact that healing is a full round action Tracer Move Action: Get in Truck Move Action: Drive down beach. The tracer is now near the end of the row of homes. He now has a clear line of sight to Blueshift. Any character observing him may make a DC 10 Sense Motive: He's revving the engine like he's going to run her over with the thing! (But not until next round) Power House Move Action: Stand Free Action: GM Fiat Surge (HP to Push) Full Round: Charge, All out Attack 5, Power Attack 5 vs. Push using Leaping power: The Kung Fu is Strong With This One (DC 32 on Hit; Defense set to 11 [-5 AoA, -2 Charge]) (1d20+10=22) vs. Push's Def of 13 for this round? Yea, that hits. EDIT: I forgot the Powerhouse was Prone from being thrown. He needs to spend a Move Action to stand up. I'll GM Fiat to surge allowing him to take the above action. Push get's a Hero Point as he's the target of the resulting attack. Jubatus; 40; HPx0; Tracer; 39; Bruised x1 Powerhouse; 38; Unharmed, Prone Wisp; 24; HPx2; Unharmed Push; 23; HPx4; Bruisedx2 Blueshift; 19; HPx2; Unharmed Marceau; 4; HPx0; Bruised, Stunned@38, Knocked out to sea Witch; 3; Unharmed, Paralyzed @Push Wisp is up, please have a post by tomorrow.
  8. That comment made Zach smile. "You're right! I'm going to show this thing who's boss!" He said after putting the cup of soda back on the table. He began blowing fiercely on the slice. Before he took another bite he addressed Corbin, "Sorry if it seems I wasn't listening to you. But Brian's the one that grabbed me." under his breath he added, "Though I can't say I wasn't at least thinking of doing the same after he practically shoved me out of the way when trying to help Gwen," before continuing in a normal voice, "I just thought that going to work right next to him after that might not be the best idea. I'm afraid he'll say something that's just going to get me angry." Zach shook his head. It was a messy situation. He'd sooner be done with the whole thing. Too bad he couldn't just drop his affections for Gwen. "I'll get back to it as soon as I'm done eating. Maybe put up those windows Crow mentioned." "Two months? Try like two days. And I don't know," He motioned with his free hand between himself and his sister, "We're just not really sure how it 'works' here yet." "Greenhouse is correct," Zach explained the state of affairs, "The girl that passed out is a... Chloropath? I think that's what someone called it. She pushed for the installation of this thing, and I suppose Summers thought it would be a nice addition to the grounds. Though I'm pretty sure the free labor must have sweetened the pot." Zach added with a smile. Shame there aren't any Tektani masons on staff. This thing would have been up hours ago. Been twice as strong too.
  9. Okay, would something like radioing the FCPD as to the presence of the gun runners, and then following Push and the main dudes be a more appropriate course of action, you think? Let these guys get away....directly into the hands of the cops?
  10. Well, you made it sound like they were still actually getting away. Would you prefer a post along the lines of her running to the nearest truck and pulling the driver out of his seat or something? I'm really not sure what you want me to do here...
  11. Zachary Vandermol Gather Information DC10: Zach and his sister are foreign exchange students attending Claremont. DC15: Zach and his sister are actually permanent transfer students from The Netherlands. DC30: Zach and his sister are not actually from the Netherlands. Their story has too many holes and inaccuracies to be true. No one knows where the pair is really from, however. Knowledge: Life Sciences DC15: The twins physical appearance marks them as albinos. DC20: The twins are not actually albinos, they just look like them. DC30: Not only are the twins not albinos, they aren't even human. Their actual race is a mystery, though.
  12. Again, if there's any space left, Investigation type threads are what Blueshift is made for! I just wish I'd seen this sooner! She's PL11.
  13. Ferros had been planning on closing the robot's chest cavity with the glowing crystal like a tin can. He didn't know what it was, but it couldn't have been safe. Wisp had beaten him to it, though. Seeing that problem taken care of, he turned his thoughts to other things. He approached Fulcrum flying on his disk. "Please," He told her, seeing her smashing robot after robot, "Allow me," The mask he wore smiled and he raised his hand. In short order, the remaining robots he hadn't already reduced to slag were crumpled up into neat cubes as if they'd just gone through a car compactor. "There, in case they're still holding more of those gems inside, this should act as a good measure of protection and easy transportation for them, ya know? Hey, now, I'm not sure we've been properly introduced. I'm Ferros." He extended his hand to the giantess.
  14. OOC Thread. Gwen and Zach meet up after an after noon of Drama. Continued from "If You Build It (IC)" The name of the thread is a reference to Flogging Molly's "Far Away Boys", in case you're interested.
  15. It had been quite the eventful day for Zachary Vandermol. He'd had his first real run in with high school drama on Earth, and he wasn't sure that he'd liked it. In fact, the more he thought about it, he was very sure he did not like it. Still, it seemed like it was something he would have to put up with as part of building a life here. If he ever wanted to make it back home, he'd have to make friends. Making friends meant he'd have to put up with their drama. He sighed, and chalked it up to making progress, and leaned back against the tree. Zachary sat below the lone tree far out on the Claremont grounds. The sun had sett, and he was thankful its piercing light was gone from the sky. He sat and he waited, hoping that Gwen would remember his promise to tell her how he'd communicated with her mentally. Hoping she'd remember that he'd told her to meet by the tree later. Hoping she'd still want to see him after all the trouble he'd caused. He softly whispered a Tektani lullaby to himself. It was one of the few memories he had of his mother. "Shard's Light, Shard's Might, Guard those that watch the tunnels this night. Meeka may, Meeka might, Sleep soft and sound, this cave tonight."
  16. That's true, Zach sent back, Though I'd still rather we wait until we know for sure that they won't try to hurt us just for appearing out of thin air, or so they might think. Has any of them said anything yet? Zach continued to follow along through the walls. Every now and then, he'd peek through a small opening in a drainage pipe or other hole in the wall to make sure he was still on track.
  17. He's got an HP Left, IIRC. I gave you the option to take your turn, because you can pop that HP to make a recovery check now as opposed to waiting a minute ;)
  18. "Why do they always try and run?!" Blueshift quickly un-slung one of the rifles strapped to her back, "Okay, listen up!" She called out, hoping to be heard above the din of rifle fire, "This is your warning shot!" She pulled a small cartridge from her belt, and loaded it into the rifle's under barrel. With a sharp, *THOOMP* the projectile launched into the midst of the fleeing trucks. An electrical explosion burst in the center of the group of vehicles frying their electrical systems. "Quit while your ahead, or I start using the rubber bullets! Trust me, they hurt!" After the explosion went off, she dashed toward the furthest vehicles, pursuing them as best she could.
  19. Well, I really didn't want to have to break out that rifle so early in the thread, but I suppose I've got HP to preserve it if I need. It's the only way she's going to be able to mook sweep fast enough... She'll EMP the vehicles. It's an AOE, so no attack roll is needed. She'll also take a move action to advance toward them afterward, going closest to any of the trucks that pass their saves. I'm assuming EMPs will work on the trucks. Modern cars have so many regulatory electronics, I doubt they would run without working electrical systems, especially due to the loss of spark plugs and other such systems... If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll edit.
  20. "Like giving it a giant hamster ball to run around in? Hah! I love it!" Blueshift smiled a wide, goofy smile. "Push, you're a genius!" She gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "A hamster ball? Really?" Mac chimed in sarcastically, "That's all my brilliant creator can come up with?" "Hush, you!" She scolded the floating robot, "We're going to need something to hold it in. We're really lacking for raw materials, though. Hmm. It doesn't go through the rocks all that well..." The gears in her head turning faster than the speed of sound, she looked back at her boyfriend, "Push, can you create a hollow ball out of the rocks around it? Then either you can levitate it, or we can roll it back to the surface?"
  21. When Corbin appeared between them, roaring, Zach had another flashback. This time, it was of his drill seargent, getting the special forces squad he and his sister had been a part of in line. He recognized immediately that Corbin was a man worth listening to. It didn't help that he was a Claremont senior. Everything he'd read on Earth High School dynamics told him to watch out for and respect the seniors, lest he regret the consequences. Zach looked a little indignant, "Yea, you're right. You didn't need to snatch the bottle away, though. I could have handed it to you." He leaned to the side, so that he could see Brian around Corbin's large form. "I'm sorry, okay?" He lingered for a moment longer, his eyes moving between the other two boys, then turned on his heel and walked toward the refreshment table, replacing his sunglasses over his eyes, thankful for their protection from the light once more. I don't know, little sister, I'm very confused. He sent back, even as he walked up next to her. The two often held private conversations over their mental link, even while nearby. Thankfully, everything they'd read on twins born to humans suggested that many suspect such siblings of sharing strange bonds that make them capable of having entire, silent, conversations with just a few looks. So thankfully, their silent conversations had some form of cover, I try to help Gwen, and I get assaulted for it. he sent. Zach busied himself laying down a paper plate and throwing open the top pizza box. He quickly ripped two slices from the pie and thrust them onto the plate. His temper was short, and his actions displayed that quite well, I try to defend myself without resorting to blows, and I get chastised for it. He unscrewed the cap of a 2-liter soda bottle and hurriedly poured some in a cup, spilling some of it on the table in his haste, Earth is indeed a very strange place. And here I thought I was beginning to get this 'school' thing. Zach lifted the plate of pizza to his chin and greeted the newcomer, "Hi. I'm Zach. My sister's probably right. I don't think I want to be involved in that anymore." He bit off a large portion of the front of his slice of pizza. Zach recoiled sharply, nearly loosing his sunglasses. His eyes immediately went wide and started tearing, "Hot!" he managed to gasp, waving his hand in front of his open mouth, "Ow! Ow! Ow!" He dropped the plate of pizza to the table, and began to chug down the cup of soda he'd poured. I do not think that I like Earth's Cheese, Sis! The humans have a terrible habit of cooking it far to hot! Why?! Why is that necessary?! The sending to his sister was more lighthearted than his last. It seemed the shock of the hot food must have jolted him out of his foul mood.
  22. For the record, Most of Zach's speech was whispered. It was so that only Brian could hear it, in case this affects anyone's posts. I'll edit the text size down to represent that.
  23. I'm hoping forced separation won't be necessary. Zach can become intangible and escape the grapple as a free action. He does so, but not before saying, "Don't @#$% with me." EDIT: I think I'm going to edit that post down a little. It reads a little darker than I'd intended it to.
  24. One moment, Zach was trying to feed Gwen some water. The next, he watched as Brian pulled her away, bodily, and thrust her upon Morgan. The teen's magic caused him to vanish before Zach could get a word in edgewise. He'd had the water. The problem had been solved. Yet his chance at fixed the problem he'd created had just vanished into thin air, literally. A feeling welled up inside Zach he hadn't felt in a few months time. Suddenly, he was back on Tektan, cloaked in his resistance uniform. A nearby tunnel collapsed, and Zach rolled out of the way. Some of his companions hadn't been so lucky, though. A glance told him they'd been crushed by the falling rock. Slowly, he set his sights down the tunnel. There stood a deployment of the Drones the Star Khan had created. They held the destabilizer rifles that they used to collapse cave tunnels. He felt the cold fury well up inside him, as if he'd just lost his friends all over again. The images whisked away, his thoughts banished by a message from his sister jolting him back to the present, but the anger from seeing his fallen comrades remained. She won't get here in time. Brian, here, has already handled things. Done a good job botching them too. In place of the Drones he'd been staring at, there was only Brian. His enemy had made the first gambit; He was winning. Zach remembered what Brian had told him... Well, if it was a war he wanted, it was a war he would get. Zach was all set to let the boy have it, when Brian beat him to the punch again. Better deliver those pizza's fast, Sis. I might need some backup. "Oh no. I don't think so." Zachary's voice was cold and low. He pulled the tinted sunglasses from his face, and for a split second his retinas were on fire with the sun's fury. Zach didn't care, he wanted Brian to see his face. His eye bored directly into the other teen's face. His expression hardened. But Zach did not raise his voice above a whisper. He recognized the slippery slope he was standing on and did his best to back away. Still, his hushed words had more than a touch of acid to them, "What did I do? I tried to help her. You on the other hand were busy over reacting. She was overheated. She doesn't need a nurse. She needed a drink. Don't go all acting high and mighty. What Gwen needs is help, not showboating, and certainly not us fighting over her," Zach's eyes strayed to Brian's hands crumpling up the scruff of his shirt, "I didn't hurt her. Why would I? I like her. Trust me. This is not a fight you want to start." Zach's eyes bored into Brian's. Vicky appeared behind the two in a puff of smoke. Zachary stared into Brian's eyes for another second, then his shifted around his molecules. Zach was suddenly no longer solid. Brian's grasping hands passed right through him. "Vicky," Zach said, as cheerful as possible, "Morgan's already taken Gwen to the nurse. Can you take me there? I'd like to see if she's okay." He raised the bottle of water that he still held in his hand, shook it gently, "If that's okay with Brian, that is." He eyed the other boy warily.
