  1. if IC goes down, use the chat roller. (type '/roll 1d20') as per the house rules (or wherever that policy is written). Also, if it's str 12, and a str check, wouldn't that only use the str bonus of +1 for a result of 9?
  2. Ferros didn't stop to question what was going on. He merely began to react to what he perceived was a new danger to the citizens of Freedom City. With a wave of his hand, he ripped the metal accordian security door from above the front of the bodega, and transported it to the sidewalk near the crowd. With another wave of his hand the door changed shape, becoming a sizable metallic A-Frame to cover the heads of the people in the crowd. No sooner had the quick structure been completed than large chips of concrete began falling from nearby vine-choked buildings and pelting the covering. If those had been allowed to fall freely, it would have spelled at least a few concussions and cracked skulls if not worse. "Geckoman?" Ferros called out as he willed his powers to maintain the integrity of his temporary protective structure, "Are you sure that's Willow up there? This isn't like her, ya know? And she looks different!"
  3. System: quotemyname rolls 1d20 and gets 11. She gets a +11 bonus making it a result of a 22. EDIT: any issues with actually outrunning it? or is her speed enough to get away?
  4. So your character has an epiphany of sorts (one which they may not necessarily be entirely comfortable with), inspiring them to take action. This is that story. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Getting to the bare details, you need to come up with [a] what the epiphany is, how they feel about their realization, and [c] what are they going to do about it? (which is where the thread comes in). I like it. I really like it. Here's a few that crossed my mind: Blueshift: this would be a combination thread with push [a] she realized her co-dependancy issues (and her relationship with push) are slowly robbing her of her individuality. she's conflicted: the obvious course of action would be a breakup, but that's the last thing she wants. [c] She's going to have to have some words with her boyfriend about this! Ferros: this may be especially good for you to run as you GMed the first investigation into his powers. [a] Ferros discovers in a dream that the nature of his powers is actually magical he's unsure of what this means, and worried of what it might imply or reveal about himself and his powers [c] he needs to find someone that can tell him more!
  5. Damn! Where's my flying carpet when I need it? Well, I've got one good idea how we might... VP for some more super senses (thus dropping the immunity to heat environments) Blueshift would start having to make checks, but since they're on their way out, I'm hoping that won't matter as much. Would you allow some sort of sonar or echolocation scanner to allow her to form a mental map of the cave system? Mental quickness should allow her to find the shortest possible route out with barely a hesitation, and once she knows what that is, she can lead the team out. Possible additional ideas: Maybe the echolocation is heat based, and she'll be able to navigate them through the coolest tunnels (i.e. the ones without lava).
  6. A few seconds following Geckoman's response, a small ball of light shot up from a nearby pile of rubble. Colt was in what seemed like the wreckage of a neighborhood house. It seemed it was easier for him to just fire off a flare than actually respond on the radio. Perhaps he was in too much pain, who could say. But at least now they knew where to find him.
  7. "That would be the most logical determination, yes." Blueshift frowned, attacking the keyboard once again. "Currently running some files and programs. I invented them to decode energy signatures like this. A little easier than mapping human genomes, actually. Just have to figure out a pattern. Once I have that. Can figure out..." Blueshift's explanation drifted off as she began to concentrate harder. Thankfully, Mac picked up where she left off, "Basically, she's running some numbers. Decode that surge of energy, and we should be able to figure out where it took Victory, or if he went under his own power, where he's gone off to." The little robot tilted sideways slightly, and the diodes on his chassis glowed orange, "Ya Dig?"
  8. "Well, that's no good." "Sensors indicate that the controls for that door are on the inside. We can't do anything from out here, Blue!" "Roger that! In we go, then!" Blueshift fired up the afterburners on her boots. In a second flat she'd reached the top of the stairs in front of the doors. She used her momentum and the slick material of her suit to allow her to go sliding under one of the vertically closing barricades. She popped up into a standing position immediately afterward. Mac also scooted under the door right after her. First things first, she gazed around, trying to get a good indication of the situation.
  9. Uh oh, Jee? There's some kind of trouble outside the store I'm in. Zach craned his head over the rack of vests he was currently looking at, Thankfully it doesn't involve me for once. Are you nearby? I'm going to get a closer look. Not get involved, just see if I can be more aware of what's going on. Zach stepped around the clothing rack and pushed towared the front of the store. He joined the gathering crowd, remarking on how humans seemed delighted to see someone else in trouble. "Hey, what's going on?" He asked no one in particular nearby in the crowd.
  10. The tracer becomes un-stunned at the start of your action. So, no. That misses. Push!
  11. Turrets going haywire! Oh no! Maybe someone should tell Blueshift she needs to shut down the HQ's defensive systems next! ;)
  12. Jack's radio as well as those carried by the other Interceptors (if they were still in tact) crackled to life. For the first time since the battle had ended, Colt's spoke. His voice was weak, "Colt t'Interceptors. Reckon y'all better still b'live out ther." He shakily cleared his throat. "If'n y'all're list'ning, sure reckon it'd be nice ta get some help'ere. M'legs ain't movin'." Colt's homing beacon lit up on the transmitters just before his signal faded out and the radio went dead again.
  13. The mask that Ferros wore saddened at the outbursts from Jack. He knew that Jack could not have known that Vicktor wasn't responsible for this. Not really, in any case. But it pained him to see such hot words thrown about between friends. As Jack began to walk away, Ferros turned once again to Geckoman, "If you think you can get him to the hospital with just one hand, do it. I'm going to see if I can't go douse some of those flames," Geckoman could tell that Ferros wasn't thinking for a second about any of the wreckage that was still on fire. With that, Ferros hopped back on his disc of steel and swooped off after Jack and Jill.
  14. It was actually kinda helpful. Seeing as how I have yet to read Wellspring's sheet. (put it on 'the list').
  15. It was just after classes had let out for the day on Friday at Claremont. Zach and his sister were still getting used to life above the surface. Much as he'd wanted to ignore the world under the sun and crawl into someplace dark until night time when the sun would no longer hurt his eyes, it wouldn't be very supportive of their established covers identities. Especially not when it meant missing out on a trip to the mall to kick off the weekend. He and his sister didn't have much money between them, but they managed to scrape together what they could for things like clothing, and the occasional splurge. Part of the reason for the trip to the mall was to see if any of the stores were hiring for part time positions. It was pretty clearly Jeena's plan. They were always Jeena's plans. But first, the two had split up to do some shopping. Not that they were ever really distant from each other, being able to reach out to one another's thoughts as easily as breathing. For his part, that meant stopping by his favorite store, Hot Topic. Zach wasn't sure what it was about the clothing and the designs that the store carried. Maybe it was the shiny metal bits on much of the clothing that reminded him of military uniforms. Maybe it was the leather, in which he saw some of the functional outfits the Tektani resistance fighters wore. Regardless, there he was perusing the shelves to see if there was anything he could add to his spartan wardrobe within his price range. He was here, Well, at least I'm inside and out of the sun. But it's really crowded in here!
  16. Heritage just posted on Player Away. He's working on getting his internet access back. I'll throw Covalent in right now. Cubic can just join up whenever she's done shopping at the girly stores, or whatever. OOC isn't ALWAYS required, but it is good form for whoever starts the thread to make one, just on the off chance that it's needed. The only time OOC threads ARE required is if your planning on having combat in your thread. This is IIRC, as long as they haven't changed a ruling on that.
  17. :applaud: Glad to hear it, hope you're back in action soon!
  18. Covalent needs some threads. He could be there shopping for some new clothes with his sister Cubic (played by Heritage)... if you'll have us, and Heritage agrees. I always like meeting new people.
  19. "Indeed," Ferros responded over the comm link they all shared, "The authorities should have this incident under control pretty soon, ya know?" Ferros turned to look up at Jack's perch on the roof, "Now that I'm back in the swing of things, lead away, fearless leader."
  20. "Well, with all the strange multiple dimension stuff kicking around recently I decided to go with the same naming moniker as one might for an alternate dimension Earth. Anti-Earth," Blueshift explained while still striking away at the keyboard with rapid abandon, "Oh man. Speaking of alternate dimensions, I've found something." "Uh oh! You're not going to like this..." Mac dutifully chimed in as he scurried around tidying up the areas around the consoles. "Look here," Blueshift pointed to one of the larger screens that was still in tact. She brought up a chart that seemed to be a record of energy fluctuations. Her gauntlet produced a laser pointer and she began to detail the parameters of the graph, "This axis here," she traced along the horizontal, "Represents time since the attacks on Earth began. The point at which the first alarms began blaring being T0." She traced along the vertical, "This axis is the level of energy, radiation, etc. detected around Nichtuberall. Different colors being different types of rads. This here," She focused the pointer somewhere near the middle, of the graph, then touched to other places along the time axis. "Is my arrival, Pushes arrival, and the moment the fighting stopped. You'll notice this yellow line spikes shortly after push arrives, and drops to nearly nothing about one minute later, an instant before the fighting ceased." "Gentleman," Blueshift stopped typing for once, and turned to face them, "The yellow is Terminus Energy." Her face was grim.
  21. That's a good question. DID she find anything? You guys have been in threads with me before. I'm going to tap into just about every knowledge check and super sense I can with blueshift. Search checks, notice checks etc etc. Take 20 whenever possible all as a free action blah blah blah. That turn up anything?
  22. "Hey, you said take inventory. Just confirming you still lacked a brain." The little robot seemed to shrug before puttering off toward Blueshift. "I thought I talked fast." Blueshift smiled at the two of them. She also looked a bit battered. From the tears in her costume to the bags beneath her eyes. It was likely she'd had better days. "I found a few things. Still running analysis and results though. Should be finishing up soon." "One thing's for sure. Neither Victory or Anti-Victory are still here. Also working on tracking them..."
  23. I think that would be the perfect time to have Push walk in and do some enlightening :D
  24. I'm not really away, per se. We've got a huge project at work due in less than a month. I'll be working full tilt on that. So my ability to post will be decreased. I'll do my best to keep up, as always. But right now, I'm at about my thread limit, I'd say.
