  1. I consider the pervious thread to have not happened. This thread is a bit of a redo of those events!
  2. Archer II A series of quick *twang* sounds from a building above were all the warning the group attacking Shooting Star received before a series of arrows came flying at the highest window to the right on the building, flying through it and hitting the man behind it several times. "Two on the roof, one in the lower middle window! Take them down, now!" On the building opposite, Shooting Star could see a man dressed in red and white, with a long red bandana flowing in the wind. He had a bow in his hand, already drawing another arrow from the quiver on his back. "This is a school you idiots! There's kids here!"
  3. That's a Stunned condition! You get a new Fort save vs. DC20 every round till you clear the Stunned reaction. The mystery 31 Initiative roll appears! His +15 bonus to Notice means he'll spot them. Archer stands at the top of a nearby building and shoots at the first attacker with Standard Arrow with Autofire: 26 That's a hit, high enough above PL to get a full +3 to the DC, for a DC24 TOU: 14, fail by 10, Staggered and Dazed. Free action to shout out the locations to Shooting Star. 31 - Archer II - 4HP - Unharmed 17 - Shooting Star - 0HP - Stunned (DC20, +0 bonus, [-2 Defense, Lose Dodge Bonus to Defense, Can only take Reaction actions]) 7 - Attackers - x4? -- Attacker 1: Staggered, Dazed
  4. GM The hostages looked up, but stayed on the floor, while Steel Spider moved further into the bank. From his position on the ceiling, Steel Spider could see three of the robbers ahead. Two of them were by the doors, keeping watch outside, while one stood between the entrance and the small cubicles that the tellers worked at, moving around them and looking ahead around, patrolling for any stragglers among the hostages.
  5. Give me a Stealth roll as you move forward, and what do you want to do?
  6. Both are hit. Bodyguard 1: 25 Spooky Guy aka ??? Usher: 20 (I know the roll says Bodyguard 1, I forgot to change it) Both make their saves! @KnightDisciple is up! 20 - Raven III - 1HP - Unharmed, Shaken till end of round (-2 on all attack rolls and checks) 19 - Arrow IV - 1HP - Unharmed, Discovered 16 - Criminals - 3 visible under skylight -- Bodyguard 1 - Bruise (x1) -- Bodyguard 2 - Staggered, Dazed -- Spooky Guy aka ??? Usher - Unharmed - Big Guy East of elevator - Unconscious 6 - Nevermore II - 2HP - Unharmed - Darkness obscure effect: 7/10 rounds remaining
  7. Shift is free! @Heritage give me a d6 dice roll, then!
  8. Little Mermaid II When Mette was a kid, her parents had taken her to the trip to California, another to Florida and a visit to New York. She had been to a few other places in the United States, seeing the sights and everything, but Mette had never been in Freedom City before. Compared to home, it was like a whole other world. It was just a short one week vacation, hardly enough time to deal with the jet lag, but here she was, Freedom City. In her first three days she had already seen more super people flying in the sky than the total number in Denmark. It was incredible, but also kind of daunting. It had been the former Little Mermaid's suggestion that she visit Freedom City at least once, and that she should visit a bookshop called The Never-Ending Story. Mette liked the name, so here she was, standing outside the doors to the little shop. She wore a thick dark grey jacket to keep warm, a hood pulled up over her head, with simple jeans and heavy boots on her legs as she admired the store. As she moved towards the door, she barely even noticed the other two moving together with her, until she took hold of the door handle first. "Ah, sorry, didn't see you two there." She spoke with a slight accent that made it just noticeable that she wasn't from around here. She opened the door and held it for the other two. "Here you go!" She only registered the sound of struggle after they had entered.
  9. GM 5:30 PM, December 7th, 2020 Riverside, not too far from Riverside Park The Never-Ending Story was an interesting place to be. It was a small bookstore in Riverside, one that was known to be just the place to go to find rare books. Before his passing, Adrian Eldrich himself had been a common visitor. The book store was rarely busy, but it did well enough. The owner Andrew Orlando let his cats roam free among his book, while the portly gentleman puttered about. It was a peaceful place to be, it was a happy place to be, especially during Christmas time. At least, on every other day than today. Today, the sounds of struggles and things being pulled apart would meet a trio that just so happened to enter the building at the same time...
  10. GM "You really think that I can't find you just because I can't see or hear you?" Casanova was yelling, looking straight in Howl's direction. "You're amateurs! Glorified sidekicks at best! We're the real deal!" The three teens looked around in the darkness, they were obviously confused. They shouted, but unable to even see or hear each other, they all started running in different directions, away from. The couple looked at Howl once, thanked him and then started running. As for Howl and Casanova? If Howl's will was not strong enough, everything would turn dark for him.
  11. Fail by 5, that's a bruise and you're dazed! Casanova targets Howl. @RedSpine give me a DC18 Will Save vs. a Visual Dazzle Effect! The mind controlled teen all look very confused and starts running away. @Heritage is up, but you're Dazed, so unless you got some way of getting rid of that, just give me an IC post while you skip your turn. After Heritage, @Cubismo gotta deal with losing that bow! 23 - Shift - 3HP - Bruise (x1), Dazed 23 - Arrow IV - 2HP - Unharmed 23 - Nightscale - 2HP - Unharmed 14 - Stinger - Unharmed 12 - Toxin - Unharmed 10 - Chump - Unharmed, Entangled (Rank 5 Snare: -2 ATK/DEF, -4 DEX, Anchored to the ground) 10 - Nevermore II - 3HP - Unharmed 10 - Bluebird - Unharmed 7 - Howl - 3HP - Unharmed 7 - Casanova - Unharmed Visual Obscure, Darkness: 10/10 rounds, on Initiative 10.
  12. You can use as many Hero Points as you have per turn, but you can only spend Hero Points for any given benefit once per round. I'll get to Casanova before too long.
  13. @RedSpine That's right! Its a Move Action to get between them and a Standard Action to activate your Obscure effect, so you're out of actions for the bluff. But give me an IC post! @Cubismo: You can, however, use a HP to reroll if you want!
  14. Nevermore II Things were moving fast. Charlie hadn't counted on them being spotted this quick. He had at least hoped to spring a little surprise, but that wasn't how it went. Alek had taught him better, anyway. Gotta adapt your plans, can't just stick to them and hope it works out. No plan survives contact with the enemy or something like that, right? Everyone was a flurry of movement. Shift grabbing Toxin? Probably a good move, they couldn't be poisoned, right? Arrow's arrow hitting Shift along with the others weren't so smart, and Nightscale was overeager as usual, which... he went right past Casanova. Then again, made sense. Shields was a douchebag, but nobody said he was bad at what he was doing. He grimaced at Nightscale's call, but this wasn't the moment to get hung up on codenames. He could talk to him later. "Yeah, don't worry. I got this." With practiced ease, he threw the few small grenades he had picked from his belt with one hand, right at the feet of Casanova. They exploded instantly, not with any power or any kind of bright light, but quite the opposite, creating a dome of complete darkness, trapping everyone inside. That should keep the kids out of trouble for a moment, at least. With a quickly raised gauntlet, he fired a grappling line to the nearest tree, almost above Casanova's group, sending himself into it with just a rustle of leaves to give him away for a brief second.
  15. GM With everything happening happening around her all of a sudden, Stinger seemed remarkably calm. If anything, she was smiling, loosening her whip and starting to run away from her companions in half circle, moving closer to Arrow. "Always wanted to see if I could kick a legacy's ass." She spun around, letting the whip fly towards Arrow with blinding speed, only to snap around her bow. "That one's mine." She pulled hard at the bow. "Get off me!" Toxin struggled, fighting back against Shift as he grappled her to the ground with his six arms. "Nobody's controlling me! Stop it! Get off me before you break the suit!" Or maybe... she could do something. Loosening just the tiniest bit of the suit on her palm, she placed her hand against Shift's chest. The point of contact quickly started to feel like it was burning. "Get this crap off me!" The taunt had hit its mark, with Chump struggling against the adhesive that was keeping him snared to the ground with all of his strength, threatening to break it past its breaking point if possible. He was getting angry, not just as the situation, but at Arrow and at not being able to move and fight! Bluebird was not happy about everything going dark. She instantly took off from the ground, flying up above the reach of anyone stuck to the ground. Throwing her hands out towards Nightscale, she let a powerful light blue wave of energy wash over him, trying to take hold around him, while she shouted "Somebody do something about that darkness! We can't even see 'em!"
  16. Stinger moves to the side, away from the group to put some distance in, while moving closer to Arrow. She uses her whip to try to disarm Arrow: 29 That's a hit. Disarm roll: 14+4 = 18 (I forgot to add the mighty ranks from the damage) @Cubismo: Give me a Str check vs. DC18 or you're disarmed. Toxin is being grappled! She tries to touch Shift: 21 That's a hit! Turns out she got not just poison, but acid touch too! It's not fun to be Toxin! @Heritage: Give me a DC23 TOU save. Chump tries to break free from the snare. @Cubismo: Give me a DC24 Toughness save from the Snare. It got a +5 bonus to its roll. Nevermore drops a Visual Obscure with a 200 ft. radius at the feet of Casanova. Anyone without Darkvision or other ways of navigating now have a 50% chance to miss their targets. He then uses a Move Action to swing into a tree over New Young Freedom. Finally, Bluebird flies up, away from the ground. She tries to use her telekinesis to grapple Nightscale: 24. That's a hit. Missing on a roll of 11+ due to Obscure: 6. Hit confirmed. @Nerdzul: Roll a Grapple check vs. 18 And then, @RedSpine is up. Whew. For the record: To avoid doing 3 posts in a row, I'll just be posting Bluebird's actions together with Stinger, Toxin and Chump, even if they take place after Charlie's action. 23 - Shift - 3HP - Unharmed 23 - Arrow IV - 2HP - Unharmed 23 - Nightscale - 2HP - Unharmed 14 - Stinger - Unharmed 12 - Toxin - Unharmed 10 - Chump - Unharmed, Entangled (Rank 5 Snare: -2 ATK/DEF, -4 DEX, Anchored to the ground) 10 - Nevermore II - 3HP - Unharmed 10 - Bluebird - Unharmed 7 - Howl - 3HP - Unharmed 7 - Casanova - Unharmed Visual Obscure, Darkness: 10/10 rounds, on Initiative 10.
  17. The era specific clothes faded, replaced by whatever they had been wearing before, while Pan's shadow wrapped around Knieval, holding him close, putting him just in place for anyone to try anything, like, say, taking away his big weapon. Pan failed to blink when the blast flew past his head, causing something to explode behind him. He merely started smiling. "Oh, you have no idea, my friend." Without looking away, with his shadow still strangling and moving and holding and helping, he spoke loudly, to the two companions. "Show me what you can do!"
  18. Pan uses his Binding Shadow to Aid the Disarm, so that's a +10 roll vs. DC10 to Aid: 30 Yes, of course I crit on the Aid. Anyway, that's a +5 to @Spacefurry's Disarm attempt!
  19. GM There's the party poopers that my dear friend the Dormouse told me about! Quick, act fast, you can't delay! Stop them, so can have ourselves as happy day! The White Rabbit's voice carried through the sound system. The Tea Party Guests were quick to act, hurrying towards the replicants as they reached the bottom of the Emerald Tower. If nothing else, Protectron's distraction paid off. So far, all eyes seemed to be on the replicants on the ground, leaving other paths open to the heroes.
  20. Interesting! There's a distraction if Emerald Spider wants to lead the way to her secret entrance @Tiffany Korta!
  21. Justice "Got it. I need a quick change, anyway." With the bike coming to a halt a block or so away from Ultra Girl's location, Robin raised the front plate of her helmet to quickly fix her domino mask over her eyes, before lowering the helmet again. She was already wearing the undersuit for her armor anyway, so it wasn't a huge difference. "I'll take point, ready to back me up if the Ultios turn hostile?"
  22. GM A man in the standard grey Ultio Suit looked up, shaking his head. "C'mon, everyone can go around calling themselves a hero. You were caught on camera protecting a monster from real heroes." "Yeah! Why should we believe anything you say? I know your type! You're just gonna go and cause trouble, then its on us! If MarsTech says you're a bad guy, then I trust them!" Men and women wearing Ultio Suits came out of hiding all around Ultra Girl, some looking out from rooftops or alleys, others suddenly decloaking. All in all, she could see at least 8 potential enemies.
  23. Well, you get them down from Hostile to Unfriendly. @Cubismo Give me a DC15 Notice check, read the spoiler if you pass
