  1. Released Davyd, and he rolled smoothly into a crouch,. One could imagine hearing springs slowly creaking and loading. Looking at his teammates, he regarded them as slightly mad. He moved to cut the distance between him and Nick, and he put a hand on his shoulders, to help guided him towards the shell, trying to place himself between the guy and what he perceived the danger. "I am glad someone speaks pigeon." Though he was keeping his wary eyes on Davyd ready to leap back at him to recover him once more if the birds went hostile. He would say this is weird, but it really wasn't.
  2. Benny's eyes widened, the mild mannered guy suddenly had a lot of people here. His invite was open, he just didn't expect everyone to show up, but he dutifully finished wrapping Claude's righthand. "There are some o'them light MMA gloves, but yer gonna wanna wrap up your hands first. An I guess we'll start with progressive drills." His own Joisey accent showing, his tone bemused, as was the small smile. "Course ya had to decide on this after I've been doin' my work out for three hours." He jerked his head on his neck sharply, popping it loudly, as he held it there at an angle, stretching it out before he rolled it about his shoulder. "I ran into the Raven on-..." He trailed off, and shrugged a little bit, and then moved to offer the taping up of everyone else's hands. "If we don't do this most of youse knuckles gonna split and bleed, and it's gonna suck. Hands' delicate things."
  3. Benny shrugged a bit, not dismissing Claude's assertion more it seemed to slide off of him. "Hold up yer hands Claude. I'm sixteen, ain't exactly really had a lot of teachin' under my belt, so I can say I ain't good at it." He pulled the tape of length out as he looked at him still, and when the hand was offered, and he started to to do the wrap with practiced ease. Going around his wrist, and back up between each of the fingers, over the knuckles, and bracing the thumb. "Doesn't matter much for wrapping. There are others here who can, some teachers, and all that." Benny was big, fireplug of a guy, there was a little definition to the mass, but his body was a barrel, but as he moved the muscles did under his skin bunched and moved about. Once that hand was done he waited for the other. "Ain't see much of a point to antagonize each other really." When he spoke like that it wasn't a rebuke, there was an edge to the beefy kid that hinted at experience.
  4. He shrugged a bit, as he looked at her, his lips pressed tight, and that loutish face of the thick necked teeth was placid, but there were wheels spinning. "I s'pose. I mean, most mooks I've punched ain't nothin' but punchin' the clock themselfs. Anger ain't pretty, but it's not the common thing. Most... what? At-risk yoots ain't gonna be offered a devil's deal often. Mostly it's the way for them to make ends meet. Been there, hustled on the street. Got lucky, and fast enough hands to get out of that." He punched his other palm with his wrapped hand, grinding, and testing the wrap there. "I ain't sayin' yoose words is wrong. Just, I dunno. I ain't much for ethics really. I guess more ways I see it from the ground. Sometimes lookin' down from the rooftop. Either way, I gotsta tell myself that I'm right when I'm knockin' skulls, yanno?"
  5. He arched his brows a bit, as he slowly drank down the water, then shrugged a bit at that. "Sure buddy, I ain't mucha teach, but I can give it a go." He grinned a little bit, his loutish features brightening up into that expression, as he moved to get some tape. "Though, lookin' at ya hands, we're gonna need to wrap them up first, and then we can put gloves. And I'll do the pads." He seemed more confident than in the tech room, his though his eyes were as sharp before, but this? This was his element. He unspooled the tape to start the wrapping as he looked levelly at Claude.
  6. Saturday, November 8th, 8 AM. Claremont Gym. Bam. BAM BAM! Bam bam bam bam! Fists hit bag, footwork ensued, complicated, as the bulky Benny D'amato changed center line, stuffing his leading left hand at the face level in a drill that would make sense with someone else, as his right hand did two neat, sharp uppercut like hooks right at the floating rib area Then came a quick four punch flurry. Though him getting someone besides staff tended to prove tricky, and the fast kid showed why. He wasn't just quick. He was damn near sudden, and he hit hard. Precise. And he did this routine upwards to six times a week. The run. Then the drills. More running. More drills. This one changed though, as he wheeled to the human shaped dummy that was used for grappling, as he threw a feinting punch at it's face, and then shot down for a double leg take down, that he immediately floated over the dummy on impact into a mounted position, and he hammered at the 'head' of the the practice thing, before he rolled away, and pushed up and off of his rear leg for a superhero punch at another training bag. This drill down, he stood there, breathing hard as the alert went off from his bag at a bench, and he moved over towards it. Wearing a tank top, a pair of shorts, sneakers, and wrapped up hands, which fit his workman aesthetic. He picked up the watch, and pushed the button to turn off the alarm, before he moved to lift his water bottle.
  7. And can you add in a bit in the Power Description setting explaining the Electrical vulnerability?
  8. "Oh, son of a gun. Teach, you're joinin' the shell brigade!" He lunged to Mr. Jorgensen, and gracelessly tossed the man like a sack of potatoes at Chelone and Judy. "Mia! Throw somethin' after me, an' scatter 'em. I'm getting Davyd!" And he leaped...! In the wrong direction, going right into a tree getting a chance to use his powers. He wasn't a show off most of the time, and this wasn't that either. He hit the tree, and then he rocketed off it like a bouncing ball, aiming right at Davyd, and plotting out rest of his trajectory while it happened. His big mitt snatched up the shapeshifter, and he sailed through the swarm. Benny plotted it out to hit the ground back first, as he cradled Davyd defensively against his body, because this was going to be rough. Ricocheting off it and sailing up and over the swarm back towards the rest of the team and going over them.
  9. Benny is gonna push the Teacher to Chelone and Judy, and then bounce at Davyd to grab him up.
  10. It was almost easy to forget that Corinne was taller than the security guy, she slouched, she slumped, and she made herself small. "My mom made sure I took self defense, and it just clicked when he grabbed me..." She wasn't too hammy, more looking ashamed that she had done that. When the other girls new damned well that grabbing the guy's wrist was on the shallow end of what Corinne might do. But her eyes went to Judy. The selfish teen's hand fidgeting at the waistband of her jeans wriggled her fingers, preparing for what would come next. Readying her own efforts, or possibly setting up the next stage of her drama. Corinne could draw attention after all. Better than anyone in the class, except her nemesis Nicole. The security guy frowned a little, faced with righteous fury, a girl who had been grabbed, and... he wasn't being paid enough for this. He sighed and closed his eyes, shaking his head, "Right, right. I'll go deal with it." And he turned from them, giving a hand sign to the other security guys who had detained the other guy. They started to lead him away. While this happened Corinne moved touch Judy's hand lightly.
  11. I made a maths error here. So I did want to thank you for adding stuff to the complications to indicate triggers and such. Approved.
  12. Physical is not a valid descriptor, unless his natural state is immaterial/intangible. Physiology would work a better.
  13. Sorry for the hitch. For the non-Device/straight magical powers, I recommend adding a second Descriptor, this can be Asgardian Physiology, or perchance some catchall like Prowess.
  14. Benny remained calmed, they were just normal birds, right? Right... sure were a lot, but they were told there were no humans. Except for them, and trash. He didn't have anything to add, not really being great with biology. And he managed a fitful sleep, before waking up for this. "Y'ever said thank god you don't have supersenses? I'm doin' that right now." "Okay, okay, okay..." He ventured, turning his head to look at the birds that were landing and looking at Davyd, even he noticed that. Whoa. "That's not normal right? I grew up in the city, but pigeons don't do this, and they ain't up at night, yanno, unless you bump into a roost while ya doin' the nightly rooftops..." He shifted a bit, looking around at what was around them, after having echoed Judy's sentiment. "Okay, now that is sinister." He pointed right at one of the birds looking at Davyd.
  15. And it was then that Benny lifted a hand, the one he had bound up with the athletic tape. "S'cool and all. But this' the kinda pretty words ya hear all the the time. I get, I get youse not being allowed to really be open and share. I guess maybe I ain't bein' clear, and I get that, words ain't really my strong suit, ya? So, I'll do tha rundown on this. How do you turn it off? Some mug gets fresh wit me, and I gotta watch out from givin' the goof a two or three piece." He was on his feet in a movement that could be described as sudden before he gave a leading left flicker jab, followed by a low body hook with his right, and follow-up punch that was a tight inside uppercut. "Bada-boom-pow! Most mooks ain't gettin' up from that. Ta be honest, like the Padre's say, color of yer soul's between you and the big guy upstairs. But, the rest, well, how do we not do the same? How do ya not fall back? Buncha us grew up rough, I'm only an accident with some superscience chemicals from bein' in juvy right now, and boostin' cars."
  16. "I mean, we aren't all like Koch and Pasteur," Benny said, with a frown on his face, he looked back to the Smith sisters, feeling bad, but there was a bristling from at least one. It didn't help that really his attention was on Ben and Heroditus, who were messing with bigger, uglier, scarier stuff. It reminded him of a little of the stuff he had seen. He wasn't scared, not in the slightest, or really worried. Benny was more than willing to just leap at the whole things... "Thanks for the offer, Claude, right? Thanks. I might on another time, but ya doin' things a bit over my head, and I think I'll be a minus, not a plus, so I'll help out the Smiths if they'll have me. Maybe on another project we can all shuffle around. I can at least do the heavy lifting..." And he held out his hand to Claude to give him a handshake., with a big 'aw shucks' smile on his face.
  17. Benny was a fidgeter. His prodigious dexterity and agility seemed to always need an outlet. Sometimes it was flipping coins or bouncing balls off things at odd angles, today it was quieter, it was practicing on doing the handwraps, between his fingers, around the backs of them, and his wrists. Doing, then undoing, over and over. The backstory that was known was that he was something of a delinquent, and got his powers from a chemical spill. So it resonated, to some degree, or it should. Though he had the rep as a beefy idiot. "So, ya got away from Wu and everythin' is hunky dory?" He finally spoke in that rumbly teenage baritone. His head lifting and his gaze was brought level to Corona's face, "I mean..." He frowned, his lips pressing flat together in thought, as he scrunched his nose, and worked through the question, searching for the right words. "Like, what about Wu? The others? What about yourself? Not just forgiveness..." the was a pause as he licked his lips, feeling perhaps but when I first learned to box coach said it changes things, it becomes an option, harder to see it as a tool to use. Yanno when ya get annoyed it's easier to just knock their block off, 'specially once ya do it. How do yooze stop that?" He clenched his wrapped hand, hard enough for the material to creak, though it didn't show on his face.
  18. Will have a questionable number of days without direct internet starting 31st or 1st due to roommate change.
  19. She let the boy skulk away, of course, the staff didn't see it, they had seen her. The curse of being noticeable, so when Judy was coming in to give her a hug, which she responded to with Platonic Side Huge™. "Yeah, except I am more noticeable than the greasy faced..." Corinne trailed off as she watched the staff come up to her. "So you felt a need to be aggressive with that young man?" The man asked, he was somewhere in his twenties. Wearing a bright yellow staff shirt, his blonde hair held back in a sloppy man-bun, and that kind of splotchy beard someone grows out, not out of necessity. He frowned at the three girls. And there was the slight expectation that Corinne would launch into her indignation, it was her idiom. But instead, she looked wide eyed, hugging Judy a bit tighter, as her brows knitted together in an anxious expression. "He grabbed my backside... and I just, my dad made sure I took self-defense, and I just acted on instinct..." she said, adopting a quaver to her voice.
  20. "Hey, ah, can Nick crash under that shell too? If there is somethin' happenin' ya gonna need ta grab him and Mr. Jorgenson too..." He resisted the urge to pick her up and get there faster. If he burst of agility earlier hadn't impressed, which he didn't figure it would, the sustained run in the dark would. Keeping up with Ash without any trouble, as he seemed to be aware of the space in front of him, adapting to the changes quickly. "I swear, I wish I had supervision, or somethin'," he grunted as he vaulted over a downed log in a cartwheel like motion that didn't slowly him down, he just kept chugging like a freight train. He got there at Ashley's heels, looking around them ,his hands instinctively up, as he scanned, really annoyed at some of his limitations at the moment.
  21. Benny is sort of hovering around the Smiths.
