  1. @Spacefurrythe reroll is a hit, when you roll below 10 with an hero point you add 10 to the outcome, so it becomes 17 (and 25 in total). What are the damages\saves? @Avenger AssembledNeko and Owain can also go
  2. Luke chuckled and shook his head as he watched the drama unfold, for a moment he thought he should get in between the two contenders, although, to be completely honest, a cat-fight could have been fun to watch, but Ryder preceded him. Whatever... "Guess that everyone has to be a part-timer." He nodded at Holie. "Besides, dunno about you? But I don't plan to be just a 'superhero'... I mean, I want to have a freakin' life too." How to exactly achieve that? Well, he there definitely was still some kinks that needed ironing. "What I think though... is that Neko, you are the one that is being clever here... Sorry Ryder..." He chuckled. "I bet your channel is making like, a shitload of money. I mean, we are all freakin' superheroes, there must be people willing to throw us a few likes." He smiled. It made sense right? Although, to be honest, he hasn't had that much of a success himself, not that he didn't have some followers (at least on his thirst-trap videos seemed to collect a decent amount of views), but to be honest, it was far from enough to get by just by collecting clicks.
  3. The young man froze in place as Leon's words pushed his eyes to meet the one belonging the giant beast who rested beneath the sea of gold. They were so polished, that the two boys could see their reflections like if they were staring in a massive mirror. The creature was still asleep, or so it seemed, but even in that state, it still radiated a sense of power. To Luke though, It felt strangely familiar. In fact, the boy soon found himself entranced, hypnotized almost, the world around him faded, he could somehow still sense Leon's words, he struggled to anchor himself to them, but they felt so far, distant echoes, as the river of the monster will subsumed his own. While Leon himself felt at least a fraction of the giant monster mental magnetism, the pull wasn't as strong as with the dragon boy, in fact, chewy giving him a 'friendly' bite, was enough to break the spell for the young rogue, restoring his wits. He could feel the ground shaking beneath his feet, like if the dormant creature below the gold had began stirring in its sleep, Luke, however, didn't seem to have noticed and instead, he just stared in the eye of the beast, like if lost in a dream he could not escape from.
  4. The young man nodded at Ryder's objection. "Yep, stronger, not better." Although, he wondered, how his own kind felt about the matter, not that he had any other dragon to talk about it of course, but somehow he doubted that many of them considered themselves on the same level as normal humans. "Plus, it's like... I mean... look all the supervillains that just think they are better than everyone else..." He shrugged. In truth, it wasn't that hard to empathize with Wilona's way of thinking. After all the first thing he himself did when he found out he had super strength and was immune to bullets wasn't exactly go out and help those in need... It was just so tempting... "We do get a lot in return, for what we do. I mean, feels f- awesome to know that you are making things better, doesn't it?" Luke replied to Owain. "I wouldn't mind getting paid, sometimes, though..." The boy continued with playfully smile. Although, there was definitely a hint of truth in his voice, after all, the Southside Dragon still delivered pizzas and lived with his parents at the trailer park when he wasn't at school.
  5. Now fully awake the teenage dragon found himself on Ryder's side of the conversation this time, rather than Leon's . Wait and see? No way. "Of course I'm gonna do anything to get a friend out of it..." He replied confidently. "I mean, I can snoop around a little to see if this group is actually harmless as much as they say... but... come on... A non violent super-whatever organization yeah k-" Luke stopped himself before swearing in class, in his old school, perhaps he wouldn't have, but in Claremont, well, there were expectation. Besides it was perhaps a tiny bit ironic that he was also a 'super-whatever' of sort and did end up using violence to keep the bad guys in check, wasn't it? "I won't let them get deep into this without at least trying to convince them that the rhetoric they are feeding him is bull..." Although, that might not be exactly easy if they are already indoctrinated and without using his powers (he was already kinda iffy about messing with people minds and for a good cause and manipulating a friend with magic, well that was a big no in his books), but still, Luke was convinced, naively perhaps, that he could find a way. "And since these people prey on the little guys that feel abandoned and alone..." There was perhaps a hint in his voice that he was speaking from experience. A friend in need, alone, falling prey to a supervillain, converted against his will when the dragon-boy was too distracted to notice, he was not gonna make that mistake again. "I'd do my best to make my friend feel like he isn't." "If the group isn't letting him get out, well, then I'm gonna show them, they are making a mistake. Mind control, or otherwise."
  6. Oblivious, apparently at least, of the hidden conversation, the masked conductor continued to concentrate on the crowd, riling them up, pushing more frenzied betting on the outcome of the fight. No matter the unexpected intrusion of actual super-heroes, the show must go on. In the arena, though, the duo of Fiery Fury and the Gentleman were definitely not preoccupied by the manipulation of our heroes, nor by the machinations of the Tyger's minions, in fact, the tide seemed to have turned. The Gentleman himself could do very little, but float in the air, trying to keep himself away from fangs and claws as he struggled to regain enough concentration to throw a new telekinetic offensive. Fiery Fury on the other side... Eyes filled with rage. "Enough!" She shouted, before swinging her massive sword and unleashing a wave of fire, veins of glowing red energy formed on her figure as she channeled her fury into the flames.
  7. Ok, with those rolls it's very likely no one has noticed. I'll post the villains actions this evening, then the heroes can go.
  8. Last night had been a long one for the teenage dragon (crime after all never sleeps and a young superhero with an huge sense of responsibility doesn't as well), so Luke had found himself dozing off during class, sitting in the back row with the head on his desk. He wasn't so deep into slumber though, not to catch the drift of the conversation. That was freakin' dark... He thought, as the teacher narrated the ending of the story. In truth, he had thought plenty of times about the possibility of his family being in danger due to his superhero work, even before Claremont actually, after all, it was not like they were exactly safe when he was using his new power to run around playing gangster. He would never admit it out loud, but the thought terrified him. For their safety, of course, that was the most important part, but truth was, the boy wasn't sure that he would have been able to reign himself in, should anything happen to Gabbo or to mom and dad or to Muirne or Leon or Matt or... well any of his friends actually... He found himself clenching his fists. Now, of course, in that situation, maybe he would have had a way to make the villain talk, people become very chatty in front of a set fangs each the size of their head, but what if he couldn't? "I wish I would, but I don't think I'd be rational in that situation." The boy rubbed his eyes and raised his head from the desk at Ryder's suggestion. "Would you? I mean... not as a thought experiment... in real life... Do it, "the right way" when someone is going after your family?" He made an airquote gesture with his fingers. He didn't know Ryder much, perhaps his parents were superheroes, like many at Claremont, capable of defending themselves, Luke's, on the other side, did not have that luxury. "Someone you think will go after them for real?" He nodded at Carmen's words, that was the very least what he would do. He listened to Hawke, now far more awake. "I mean, no way I would kill them... I'm no freakin' villain" He was not a murderer after all, nor fancied himself as a vigilante. Still, it was not like letting the villain go was a solution either. "But if they hurt anyone of my family, I would make them wish I had..." He boasted, his words full of teenage bravado. Could he though? For real? His mind didn't want to delve on that thought too much. "Besides, you need to send a message..." That last part, he had learned in his pre-Claremont days. "You can't let every villain in town think that your family is fair game."
  9. Nightscale 2 (meh) The hoard of the beast 1 Organized Chaos 1
  10. While Luke would have enjoyed hanging out with Gwen and the others a bit more, unfortunately his 'duty' called and the young man had again been pulled away from the rest of the bunch to handle some other 'catastrophic' mishap that unfortunately wasn't that uncommon with first year students who all had superpowers. (At least his dragon hide was impervious to magic or the 'mishap', would have much likely ended with him being froggy-fied as a few unfortunate fellow students) When he rejoined Leon and friends, he noticed that they were together with a newcomer. He gave his roommate a playful grin, realizing that he was in fact keeping company with Neko and that the cat-girl had somehow descended from her perch on the tree. "Hey what's up?" He saluted the group. "I see you have befriended some of the fresh meat." He teased, giving Noel a playful nudge. "I'm Luke by the way. Aka the Southside Dragon, aka Nightscale. At least until I find something better." He chuckled. "At your service."
  11. Ok... took me a "little" longer than expected, but there you go: Fiery Fury fails the save, albeit barely, but she is now bruised. 25. For the sake of moving things along I'll do the NPCs now, but after that, you can all go, with @Dr Archeville's Horrorshow going next as I think it should still be their turn. The gentleman can only clear his daze and float upward, trying to stay away and gain some breathing space. Fiery Fury however got pretty angry and swipes with her massive sword. A weave of flames erupt from it. It's a cone of fire aimed at Owain and Chimera, Reflex save is DC 18 for half and 23/19 toughness for damages. 19 - The Gentleman (bruisedx3.) 18 - Fiery Fury (bruised) 14 - Neko (no damage) - 3 HP 13 - Owain (bruised) 11 - Horrorshow's (Bruised) - 1 HP 4 - Chimera (no damage) - 3 HP @Spacefurry and @Avenger Assembled
  12. "Yeah, the pocket change here can like... solve world hunger or somethin..." Luke commented wishfully and less idealistically, it could also deal with a few issues for the perennially broke teenage boy and to his family as well. If only... "Do you think..." The boy ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. "... That it could be considered stealing' if we take just a couple..." The boy felt a strange sense of wrongness as he mentioned the possibility. It was not just a sense of guilt, due to his past misdeeds, there was something else, more primal perhaps, that he couldn't exactly place. "it's not like a few would be missed..." He mused, but there was little conviction in his voice. He was interrupted by a gust of icy wind, one that sent a shiver down his spine, leaving the boy wondering if the sensation was due to the cold breeze on his flesh, still wet after their swim in the underground river, or something more sinister. "I mean, it's not like dragons are known to be possessive about their stuff or something..." He joked to ease the tension. "Definitely... Like with an huge dollar sign on it and all" He smirked at his friend's joke, not that he couldn't imagine Leon doing exactly as he had described, especially had he known about the chance of waking up in a cave full of riches. "What the first thing you'd buy if you could take this stuff?" He asked sometimes later, as the two were still navigating the treacherous terrain of the cave, having barely avoided a small stream of crashing treasures. An eye. And a massive one at that. At first, Leon had mistaken the strange golden disk, who was easily as wide as he was tall, more perhaps, as just one of the precious wonders among the pile, but as his own vision focused just a little more, he could properly see that he was staring an enormous pupil, emerging from underneath the sea of treasures, one of solid gold, not unlike Luke's own when the teenage dragon shifted back into his scaly frame. Just... Orders of magnitude bigger. The creature it belonged to, was hidden from sight, with the exception of the massive eye, buried beneath, asleep, perhaps, but still, it felt very much alive. At least, though, it did not seem to react to the boys' presence, for now.
  13. Nightscale 5 Organized Chaos 4 Party Crashing 1
  14. "Eighteen? Come on we are not in the middle ages." Well... "Said the dragon to the fae." Luke chuckled. "Indeed and he wouldn't be the first..." He smirked, yep, back at his old school, 'somehow' very few parents were eager to see their daughters hang out with the wanna-be gangster (at least it wasn't the same case with Muirne adoptive ones). "Normal is overrated if you ask me." He shrugged. Yep, especially here at Claremont, speaking of which, the boy threw another glance at Leon trying to woo Neko from her perch on the tree. "So what do you have in mind?"
  15. Luke kept pummeling at the villain with his claws, unfortunately, as before they did very little. He tossed his roommate a puzzled look as he noticed the conversation between him and the other teens. "Wha-?" He asked before his attention got back to the fight at hand.
  16. Well Nightscale is gonna double down on Bear Knuckle and try to take him out of the fight. Draconic fury: Strength Attack (Extras: Autofire 1 [9 ranks] ) {9PP/9PP} He is gonna try with the autofire attack this time though, just a flurry of claws. To hit: 15 again... So the auto fire does nothing I imagine, but if the guy is still flat-footed it's a In case it's enough the DC 24 Tou for Damages (+1 for each 2 that Luke managed to hit, but well...)
  17. "Being an dimensional exilee is pretty badass" Luke chuckled. "Wha-?" Luke winced at Gwen's enthusiastic reaction, although, he did not really stop them. "Two? I mean I do know another dragon, but... You mean Muirne? My girlfriend? She isn't a dragon... She is human..." He objected. "And a superhero herself." For a moment he wondered if he should introduce the two of them, but to be honest, he wasn't that sure if it was gonna be a good idea, for now. "I don't think that she has arrived yet..."
  18. "And how come you found yourself in our land?" Luke asked back. "Not that I mind, by the way." He teased. "Myself... Dark wizard stole my egg. Wanted to raise me to like eat his rivals or somethin'... You know, the usual evil wizards stuff. I mean, almost understandable if you think about it." He joked. "Kept me human for a while, but then the spell kinda broke." That was perhaps a bit of an understatement, but it was not like he was gonna narrate his whole life story. "Still, there are perks to keeping this shape, you know? I mean, for a starter people don't run off screaming when they see you." He chuckled, plus he still felt way more comfortable in his skin that way. "Am I right?" He grinned, yeah, Gwen definitely didn't feel like she was running away from him, quite the opposite indeed. Now Luke certainly wasn't the kind of teenage boy that minded having some attention, quite the opposite in fact and yet... He could not avoid his cheeks assuming a slightly brighter coloration. "Hey..." He protested when he felt Gwen's touch sliding down on his back, the objection though was more playful than embarrassed. . "I can give you a ride one of this days you know?" He tossed shortly thereafter. "Assuming my girlfriend doesn't mind."
  19. 'A dragon in manflesh...' "Sounds almost dirty you know." The young man teased playfully. "Anyway, Luke, aka Nightscale, at your service. Gwen. Holly, nice to meet, you two" He grinned, bowing his head a little and saluting the newcomers. "You have dragons in your garden? Sounds cool. " He chuckled. "I should definitely pay a visit one of these days..." He added enthusiastically. "I mean if you would have me." He continued, enjoying Gwen's enthusiastic attitude, besides it was not like he was swimming in chances to meet others of his kind. "That's cool." He smiled at Simon's shapeshifting demonstration, tempted to show off a bit himself, but unfortunately that would have required clearing out the area a bit, or finding some place where he could fully stretch his wings... Next time... "Yeah definitely. You should try sometimes." Luke grinned, waving at his roommate, nodding as he realized that the boy had volunteered to help with the mess as well. Speaking of which, apparently there was a situation forming between a bunch of freshmen that required his attention... The boy shook his head, deciding to forget that he himself had gotten into fights at school as well during his first year. "Duty calls..." He bowed his head again and saluted the group of students. ... Angry growling could be heard from the courtyard as the teenage dragon did his best to quell the commotion, with his characteristic patience and understanding (none of it), but eventually, the situation seemed to calm down and the boy did manage to return among the small crowd of friends at Neko's and Owain's stand. Noticing that the crowd has grown in his short absence. "Hey... What's up noobs?" He greeted the newcomers, with a wide grin. "Hope Leon is not scaring you too much about Claremont." He teased, his attention shifting toward Neko now hiding on topo of a tree. Uh... ok... He winced "Well we should call a superhero or somethin'" He smiled, confident that his roomie will find a way to defuse the situation (especially after that day at the pool). "Oh wait..." "None that beats what we have at school..." The young ma suggested. "I mean, got everything for people like us, plus more..." Plus, since he got superpowers normal gyms weren't exactly an option anyway. "For me, it sure beats trying to bench press cars at the junkyard." He smiled. Yep. Definitely. "Welcome by the way." He added, introducing himself to Maddi, Bert and Jonah, shortly thereafter.
  20. "Yep... Turns out that our systems aren't working and that I volunteered to help the wrong day..." Luke smiled. "I wonder if I can recruit some assistance..." The young man suggested playfully. Although, to be honest Puma did seem a little lost herself. "Need help with something by the way? Your friendly neighborhood's dragon is at your service." He offered. "Looks like Neko and Owain are using this opportunity way better than me by the way..." He shook his head and grinned, a few moments later when he noticed their small stand. Indeed, time displaced or not it felt like the two teens had far more business sense than the young dragon, whose summer job hadn't exactly left him swimming in gold... "God I think I can use some lemonade..." He added. "Hey... I didn't know you two were so famous." He playfully teased the couple of 'entrepreneurs'. Admittedly he did have a social media presence himself, but it was in his civilian persona and since he had started to tune down the 'thirst-trap' videos (that Muirne would have probably not appreciated) he hadn't seen that much of a success.
  21. Summertime was over. Leaving home to go back to school always made Luke felt a bit nostalgic, although to be honest, it was not like his family lived that far away. That morning, though, he didn't have time to reminiscence about the summertime gone. It was his senior year and the boy had volunteered to help out with sorting the new (and old) students while the system was down. Although, once he had done so, he hadn't thought it would be so testing for his patience. "No... I don't care if that wasn't your damn room last year. That where it says you have to go now. Ok?" He half-instructed, half threatened another kid, growling, as he grew tempted to just shove the fellow super-hero in training to his room. It was then, that he spotted a familiar face. He opened a path for himself through the crowd and waved at Puma, with a big grin on his lips. "Hey..."
