  1. Nightscale Perhaps, Parkside was a bit out of his jurisdiction, but being a superhero didn't mean caring just about ones own territory after all, especially when a murderer was involved. So, although the giant lizard in him would have much rather kept busy protecting his 'domain' (yeah... let's call it that...) Luke was of a different opinion. In fact, there he was, trying his best to inconspicuously hide within the crowd. In jeans, hoodie and sneakers, he hoped that no one would toss him more than a quick glance. He scanned the area, looking for a way to get close enough to the crime scene without the cops getting in the way. As while the Soutshide Dragon had aided the police in multiple occasions, Luke Landers was still a wanna-be gangster who had gotten out of juvie not that long ago... Somehow, he wasn't confident that they would grant him access. Sure he could wait for the crowd to disperse, but then again, there was the chance of missing out on some vital clue or somethin'...
  2. Yep. Definitely a guy with nothing to hide. The security was impressive and as he studied the setup that surrounded the seemingly innocent cabin, the young superhero wondered if perhaps the gap in that impressive security wasn't just artfully created to lure him straight into a worse trap. Well... there was unfortunately just one way to find out. Besides, he did need to stretch his wings a little. He circled back to the secluded spot where they left the car, using the occasion to check if Grabber was still waiting for him and then used the space in the clearing to shed his human form. Now coated in obsidian scales, he unfolded his wings and took up the sky. At least, even if he could not evade the security measure, he would be doing an entrance in style...
  3. Luke, now having changed himself into his super-hero costume, just in case, had reluctantly accepted Grabber giving him a ride. After all, it was easier that way, the man clearly knew the hiding spot of this mad scientist of his. "Not much of a gloves type, mate." Luke chuckled, playfully clenching his fists. "First I'm gonna take a look if your friend has anything in store for us..." The young man explained. "And just in case, I think you should wait at the car..." He sighed. "I mean... My hide is immune to bullets, your, my man, is not." He added, now perhaps Grabber was a criminal and a greedy troublemaker, but there was no need to risk him getting into troubles. Especially if this 'nerd' had some trick in store to deal with superheroes. Once he had, hopefully, left the man behind, Nightscale inspected the area, trying to figure out what the 'Nerd' had in store for them...

  5. "Well..." Luke ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. Yep, besides, they were superheroes and not thieves and yet... How easier would things be if he could actually profit from his powers... Luke smirked playfully. "Well it's summertime after all..." Obviously, it was an excuse... but well... "Besides, you have no idea how much it takes to keep up with my training as a freakin' dragon." He grinned. *** Luke had an huge grin on his lips when they got to their ride. Sure, the car was older than his dad and probably needed a good coat of paint, but that that's not what the nineteen years old who had never owned a car of his own saw. This was their glorious ride, the trusted 'steed' that would carry them to their summertime adventure! Plus she wasn't old. That was vintage... "Awesome..." He enthusiastically closed the distance that divided him from the Impala and caressed the hood with reverence. "F- Yeah!" He shouted to the sky. "How? Ah yeah... right... not askin'... She is -ing great."
  6. "A shack, close to the sea... Can you lead me to it?" It didn't exactly feel like a place fit for a mad scientist lair, but then again, perhaps the man had merely chosen to pick that place as a meeting spot or something. "Before we decide what to do with the gold. I need to be sure, that there are no other high-tech weapons heading our way..." He explained. Now, of course, he also wasn't yet sure about how to handle the jackpot and dealing with the scientist would by him more time. Although, to be honest, he did have half an idea to find a way to get the money into the hand of the people of his neighborhood. Including, Grabber and his brother, albeit, perhaps, not in the capacity they expected from the robbery. One thing he was certain about, though, was that the gold was not getting back to its' "owner". "I just need directions...You can accompany me, or stay here and guard the jackpot if you like." Not that the guy could go anywhere of course, unless Grabber had somehow learned how to do magic, the Hoard was cut off from the real world. [ooc]I wonder if Luke might know anyone that can help him selling the gold and then spreading the profits among his people[/ooc]
  7. So there is a 'mad scientist' around town. That... is freakin' problem... "If you come from where I come from, it was a lot. More than a man can dream of, even if you are me." "You might be surprised... but I do know how it feels." He took one deep breath. Nightscale listened intently, his solid gold eyes pointed toward Grabber. He had to suppress a chuckle when the man mentioned "Shot em dead" he liked the game as well, but it would have been kinda 'undignified' for a dragon to be distracted by discussing shoot-em ups... "Out of town... Where exactly? I would like to have a talk with this fellow..." He replied. "I don't like mad scientists distributing tech used to do crimes in my neighborhood..." He emphasized the possessive with a growl. "What if next time it isn't just to dig, but he sells someone like Blowfish's a super-weapon."
  8. "Of course. Plausible deniability..." He grinned and gave his friend another playful nudge. "Can't wait. I mean, I hope Muirne won't be jealous." He chuckeled, although, to be honest, the young man wasn't spending as much time with his girl as he would have wanted. Life, apparently, keep getting in the way and with school soon to be over, he had found himself wondering how things were going to go since... Whatever. He mentally shrugged. He tossed a look at Leon as the boy began gathering his stuff. As for himself, Luke the concept of packing was reduced to stuffing a couple of 'piles' of clothes and essentials in a large battered backpack. As far as finances went, well, he had a small wad of cash gathered primarilt by delivering pizzas plus a small advance of his new job at the North Pole to rely upon. All in all, it was much likely not enough for the trip they had in mind, but the nineteen years old, had decided that they would just have to figure out something on the way. "Damn I wish I had kept at least one of those gold bars..." Wouldn't have been fair, but... He put on his sneakers, ballcap, a pair of cheap sunglasses (and no shirt, but well...) before effortlessly, lifting the backpack on one shoulder.
  9. Luke chuckled at Grabber's colorful expletives. Himself, he had a similar reaction the first time he saw this place. "Indeed it's mine. All of it." He grinned. "This..." He made an ample gesture toward piles of treasures. "...is my hoard." "And, my bet bet..., this is just the least fk-ed up thing you're gonna see today." He grinned playfully. Then his eyes began to glow again as he shed his human form. Obsidian scales flowed like glass on his skin, rows of golden crests formed on his back as wings erupted from his shoulders. His body grew at an impressive speed and soon, the nineteen years old in an ill fitting stolen mobster suit was gone, replaced by a black-scaled, bus-sized lizard with glowing golden eyes. The young dragon stretched his wings and neck, lazily, adapting to his true form. "Now... Perhaps... I can use your help. Grabbing, though, is not what I need, it's giving that I'd rather do..." "But first... there is something I want to know. Where did you get fancy exoskeleton of yours? And don't tell me that it fell off a truck." He smiled, revealing the rows upon rows of sharp fangs in his mouth.
  10. Luke is always ready to protect his City
  11. "Nop not gonna happen." Luke honestly sighed, he wished that his gold would last more than a few minutes, it would help fixing a lot of stuff, but alas, it did not work that way. "You got me, it's real gold, but it's not gonna stay like that forever." He chuckled. "No need to run away though... Don't worry, just gather the stuff, my way out is a lot faster than walking..." He grinned. Sure, perhaps Grabber would not like a visit to his Hoard, but then again, gangsters couldn't get there (unless they had like an evil mob wizards on their side... which... was not impossible... after all there were mob doctors... why not mob sorcerors, right?). Himself, he did his best to gather as much of the gold as he could. Now, it was not a superhero job to help with a robbery, but leaving the Jackpot with someone like Mr. Blowfish wasn't exactly better, right? "Time to go, man." He told, once he realized that the band of gangsters was nearby. "Now give me a hand... will you?" He offered Grabber his. Then, assuming that everything went right. He would bring them both into his private realm, an impossibly vast cave (he wasn't exactly sure what his Hoard was made of, but if he had to guess, it was a place whose nature was similar to a dream or a tale than actual reality), filled to the brim with coins of any size of shape, none, unfortunately that was real or material enough to be brought into the real world. "Bye Bye." He waved at the mobsters, with a cocky smirk on his lips.
  12. "F- Yeah!" Luke smiled enthusiastically, standing up from his spot on the bed where he was lazily daydreaming their upcoming adventure, wearing just a pair of worn gym shorts. "I mean... I am kinda scared to know how you found it..." He smiled. "But... now I want to see 'her' " He grinned, approaching his friend and heading out of their room. "I mean... you have the ride already, right?" He asked, once he was already a step out of the door. Not unlike Leon, the dragon boy didn't really have an idea about what to do with his life after school was over, although, he had been in contact with the staff to try and see if he could find a job a Claremont or something, definitely grateful about the occasion that he had been granted there. One thing he had made it clear to his buddy though, that if he didn't know what to do, he could always crash at the Landers trailer. Or who knew, right? Perhaps share the cheapest room that two young broke super-heroes could afford... Whatever. Graduation Trip! Las Vegas. Yeah... "You can say it out loud my man." He gave his roomie a playful pat on the back. Plus to be honest, a part from their destination itself, the young man was definitely looking forward to the long trek through the US. It was funny perhaps, that he had been in other dimension, including, among others, the north pole, but in the real world, he never really had the chance to leave Freedom City, unless that involved some kind of school activities or superhero shenanigans. "We are gonna Rule the freakin' Vegas man." He added enthusiastically. "You know... Casino Heists are a bit overdone..." He teased, a playful smirk on his lips. Now his last adventure wasn't exactly Ocean's Eleven kind of quality, but still the boy had decided that it definitely counted.
  13. "So Vegas! F-ck Yeah!" Luke grinned enthusiastically, as he threw a glance at the map. It was a long way from Freedom City. Was it for a daring rescue, though? Chasing a dangerous mastermind? An ingenious heist? Nope for the nineteen years old, it was something way more important. Road Trip! Graduation was approaching and what better way to celebrate than an adventure. Now, they were both pretty much broke, had no ride, a continent to cross and... well... Luke dreaded to imagine what his best friend might have planned at an actual Casino. But those were just details, that the two still needed to iron out. Nothing that could not be decided in an afternoon, an amazingly short amount of time before the expected beginning of their journey in a messy dorm room with piles of half packed crowding out the place. @Spacefurry
  14. "My man..." Luke replied with a friendly smile, albeit one that much likely wasn't that noticeable in the darkness. "I just turned your contraption into gold, trust me I can carry a lot..." He chuckled. "Let's get the jackpot safe first ok?" He suggested. "Grab as much as you can carry I'll do the same..." He asked, a moment later. Then, once they both had gathered as much god as it was reasonably possible. "Now give me a hand will you?" Luke added. "No need to run, I can bring us somewhere safe where we can split up the loot in peace." Yeah and where you can start xplain' who is behind all of this. Now, of course, Grabber could have, like, stolen the gear, or something, but even if that was the case, it was worthy to know where. Plus, to be honest. The young man needed some time to figure out what to do with the gold anyway. Now, hopefully, Grabber would accept his offer, so that Luke can transport the both of them into his lair. For some proper, dragonic interrogation act.
  15. https://orokos.com/roll/984155 here is the bluff check
  16. Damn! That freakin' exoskeleton was truly struck and somehow, Luke wasn't confident that he would be able to pass through even if he returned the contraption back to normal, besides, squeezing past it while the electricity was on didn't sound like the smartest plan anyway. "Not exactly what I have in mind... But I am sure that we can reach an agreement... Before the mobsters that I have trapped in the vault room break free." He added. "My bet is, they won't be happy..." "Here is my offer..." He shouted. "You help me out carry the gold and then we discuss how to split it in front of a cold beer..." Yeah and maybe he can also explain him where he got that fancy tech of his.
  17. Strength check is just a 12 though...
  18. Woah... Luke shook his head and stretched his arms as he let his body weather the shock of the electric discharge. At least, he had managed to keep his magic going for long enough to Grabber to consider escaping. "Hey! Where are you going man? We haven't finished talking..." He shouted at the escaping criminal from the tunnel. Unfortunately, there was now an obstacle between them, cutting the way. "Stop! I just want to talk." Not that it was likely that Grabber would listen... "Trust me, I want this gold out of the grasp of those gangsters too..." He suggested. Luke sighed, taking a quick look at the now transformed exoskeleton before he began doing his best to dislodge the metal contraption or at least move it out of the way enough to create an opening for him to crawl through. That thing was heavy though, perhaps even more now that he had turned it into solid gold...
  19. Wow. Luke is having a very unusual luck for his standards in this thread. Hopefully that's not a sign of things to come. - 30 (Stealth) to get closer - 29 (Touch) to hit the power pack. And this is the power: Transform 9 (Broad group into one result [Inanimate Objects into Gold]. Flaws: Distracting, Range [Touch])) {18PP/24PP}
  20. Well that was definitely something... An exoskeleton to dig through the wall of the casino. Admittedly that felt a bit more like Grabber Gibbons bag of tricks than a high level casino heist. He wondered how exactly the guy had managed to get access to that piece of tech. Then again, perhaps an explanation could wait after the robbery (and the fate of the gold) was decided. From a pocket, he pulled out a balaclava to conceal his features, now the mobsters didn't know him well enough, but Grabber had been at the trailer park for long enough to have bumped into Luke more than a few times, there was no point in risking being recolonized. It wasn't his costume, of course, but unfortunately he lacked the time to put it on properly. Still as light as a shadow, Luke navigated the tunnel until he was close enough to the armored brute. I wonder if you like just a tad more gold... He thought, smirking playfully as he conjured another trick one that he had only recently learned how to perform. He lounged to touch the battery pack on the suit's back. Now, with the product of super-science, you never know what is going to happen, but if it worked, the device would turn into gold and with a little bit of luck, drain at least a bit of the offensive power of Mr. Gibbons. "Going somewhere?" He teased playfully.
  21. Well... Now that Luke is old enough
  22. Stealth is 24 if needed. Notice is 20 with skill mastery.
