  1. 6... Hehe well... Luke was obviously gonna watch the scene and let the new heroes have fun first
  2. GM Outside of the complex the drones continued their onslaught, however, the energy blast from the robotic bee stinger proved to have little effect on Mirror Knight's shield, for now at least. The third remaining drone could do nothing, but recalibrate its sensor and renewing its effort to keep the buzzing and assist its companions in keeping the humans under their control enthralled, although, clearly, a few among the policemen were now struggling against the swarm's influence and some even aimed their guns at robots, the bullets however, bounce against the reinforced carapaces harmlessly. In the confusion Melissa easily manage to sneak past the Bee drone defenses, while outwardly, the shell of the robot had the familiar appearance of a Bee, underneath, its construction felt almost alien in nature, an assortment of circuitry that had been designed by an intelligence whose logic did not align with the one a human engineer would have used, while still being efficient and effective in its implementation. While it would take some effort on her part, Melissa could probably reach the drone power source, a battery of some kind stored deep underneath its armor, she could not however, identify the central processing unit that was guiding the robot's actions. As she moved inside, she also found a strange substance, a golden nanomachine gel of some sort that flowed among the cracks in the machinery created by heroes offensive, intent in repairing the damages and although, she could not be sure, it almost felt like the substance was becoming aware of her intrusion.
  3. Again sorry for the delay, hopefully I will manage more regular updates soon. although COIVD has drained me a bit and work is work... so yeah... Drone 3 tries to hit Mirror Knight with a blast of energy, but it dissipate on his defenses harmlessly, however those with a technical expertise could notice that after the failure the drones are somewhat recalibrating their weapons. Drone 2, systems realign and it is no longer dazed. And it's Crystal Gazer @Heritage's turn. @Tiffany Korta you can post as well. I'll make an IC explaining what she finds out inside a drone (you can also roll Technology DC 20 to get some extra insight of the drones). (Environmental Effect: Distracting DC 13) Mirror Knight (bruised) - 26 Hp 3 Rocket (no damage) 21 - Hp 4 Queenie (no damage) 15 - Hp 2 Bee Drone 3 (no damage) 16 Bee Drone 2 (dazed and bruised) 15 Enthralled Policemen (Paralyzed) 15 Crystal-Gazer (no damage) 11 - Hp 2 Bee's (no damage) 11 - HP 3 Drone Swarm (no damage) 10 Bee Drone 4 (no damage) 9 Other Enthralled Civilians (Paralyzed) 3
  4. "Three vs two would be unfair wasn't it?" Commented the Mistress of Mayhem, as the ring of fire waned briefly to allow the young shapeshifter into the ring and doing her best to conceal the hint of surprise in her voice. "But worry not, a new contender is ready to test his valor in the Arena!" The crowd, stood quiet for a moment, confused by the turn of events, but soon their attention was drawn anew to the action that unfolded. First Chimera managed to strike true, despite the evasiveness of her foe, hitting the Gentleman in his chest and forcing all the air out of his lungs. Then as the fighter struggled to recover when Fiery Fury's massive blade, misled by Neko's illusion began to hoover over him. "No wait! Stop! It's a-" The man objections were of little use as the flaming sword landed on him as well, giving him little respite and only barely contained by the natural field of telekinetic energy that surrounded him. Confused, Fiery Fury turns toward the heroes. "You will pay for this..." Meanwhile the crowd, its favor ever shifting, had began to cheer for the heroes, who seemed to have snatched the advantage. Still, outside of the arena, an attentive eye could see a significant number of gorillas and some of the Masked, forming a wide circle around the ring of fire, positioning themselves discretely, yet somewhat menacingly, to surveil the fight.
  5. Again I'm sorry for the huge delay in replies. Also I had already rolled for Fiery Fury attacking the Gentleman and she had to daze him, also he has already been dazed by chimera, as well, but for some reason I don't seem to be able to load my past rolls on Orokos, so you are going to have to trust me on that Actions: The Gentleman clears the daze, but Fiery Fury hits him with her blade, bruising and dazing him again. The crowd seems a bit unimpressed by the two fighters hehe... And it's the heroes turn again. @Avenger Assembled, @Spacefurry and @Dr Archeville 19 - The Gentleman (bruisedx3 and Dazed.) 18 - Fiery Fury (no damage) 14 - Neko (no damage) - 3 HP 13 - Owain (bruised) 11 - Horrorshow's (Bruised) - 1 HP 4 - Chimera (no damage) - 3 HP
  6. The boys tumbled down the pile of coins, almost like if they were descending some kind of uncomfortably uneven metallic slide. Luke did his best to slower his descent, but there wasn't much he could do, the surface was too unstable and the slope too steep for him to stop himself. so the best he could manage was to try and not to land face first. He could sense his friend less than gracious descent a few feet from him, Chewy was nearby as well, but Luke could swear that the young creature strange clacking calls sounded more excited or amused than worried. They were halfway through the descent when suddenly, Light! They must have somehow moved away from the narrow passages and instead entered a much larger cave system, with the sun somehow shining in from above, reflected on a pool off... Gold? A lake, no a small sea of coins as far as the eye could see, polished and shiny, like million of tiny mirrors they reflected the celestial rays, bathing the scene in an otherworldly glow. "Woah..." Luke shielded his eyes from the sudden flash as he finally landed on a somewhat more stable surface, although, his feet had sank among the coins and he was somewhat submerged up to his ankles. "This must be where the crash-" Leon! His friend was a few feet behind him and despite usually being more agile than the young dragon, had been caught off guard and had a far from graceful descent . Luke tried to step away, "Fuuuu....." It was too late and his roommate came crashing into him, sending them both tumbling down until they finally properly 'landed' piling down on the floor. When they had both regained their composure, Luke stood up, on shaky legs, extending one arm to help his friend do the same while using the other to massage his lower back. Perhaps his unnatural stamina had managed to shield him from the worst damages, but that was definitely gonna hurt in the morning. "Woah..." He took a deep breath. "That's not at all how Scrooge does it..." He chuckled, yep, perhaps they should have asked the comic book billionaire duck for some pointers... As the boys had a bit more time to survey the scene they noticed that they were in a truly massive cave, filled to the brim with the coins, ahead of them however, there was a large a stone column of sort and shielding their eyes from the reflection of the light, the boys could almost see the contour of a stair climbing it up. On their left, many feet away, there was what looked like a plateau of sort, unfortunately they were too down below to see what was on top of it.
  7. GM The cameras of course were no match to Mirror Knight dimensional energies and soon he was confident that whoever was watching through them would be blind of what happened in the room. The door itself didn't offer much resistance either, not even a sinister creaking, in fact, it felt right it was almost like the hinges had been recently oiled. The room within, the Smoke and Mirror Casino theater, shrouded in darkness until moments before, suddenly felt like it came to life, under the light of a massive crystal and glass chandelier that dominated the whole room from the ceiling above, one that felt like it was the product of a broken mind as instead of providing an even illumination it bathed the room in distorted fractal shades. The seats, themselves, were not empty as they should have been, inhabited instead by what felt like featureless 'things', barely material reflections, of people that weren't fully there. They seemed not to pay attention to the newcomer however, focusing instead on the stage ahead of them. The velvet curtains were open and the scene set, wooden replicas of everyday objects that again Jonathan felt disturbingly familiar, it was empty however. Like if it was waiting for him...
  8. Nightscale La Puma Negra and Nightscale managed to easily jump their way up to the second floor. When Luke himself landed he felt the balcony creak a little under his weight, but fortunately it did not collapse, prompting the young man to wince. "Ok... " He looked around fro a few moment to see if anyone was watching. No one alive was, but then he caught glance of a different kind of observer. Cameras. "They might know we are here." The young man ruffled the hair on the back of his neck. To late to cry over spilled milk though. "Let me go first..." He offered, now chivalry perhaps would have demanded otherwise, but well, this place had begun to smell like a trap and he was the senior student there. So yeah... Just in case. As they had both seen before the window offered little resistance. And the two easily sneaked inside. Luke's memory went back to that fateful night when, as a fourteen years old, he had done same, albeit not aware of carrying a dragon soul and with eyes unable to pierce into the darkness with the same ease. Still, he could do nothing, but feel a shiver down his spine. The room that waited them was a study of sort and from the look of it, one that had been recently used, the dust have been cleaned off and broken furniture replaced with luxurious Art Deco pieces that felt like they were straight from the twenties. The mahogany desk was pristine, with just a newspaper from that morning on top and there was a clear scent tobacco in the air, although there was no ash-tray or any other trace of its source. On one side, hanging on the wall, an old timey map of Southside hanged under a spotlight, with scribbled ink marks dividing the district into a bunch of separate regions. "That's weird..." Luke stepped closer to examine it. "I mean, looks like gang territories or somethin', but I can't recognize any of these..." Weird. The two were still examining the room. When suddenly they heard a crash coming from below them. Now they could not be sure, of course, but it felt like it was from the main hall.
  9. Does it seem like Matt had seen US Archer and the goons? If not Luke will also shout to warn him.
  10. Luke struggled for a moment against Chaz's grip, before finally relenting and following his friend away from sight. "Yeah... you're right..." He slumped his shoulders. It was not like he could barge past security anyway without casing a fuss. They would have to play things smart. "Sure. Ok. But we need to get there." Maybe he could cause some confusion and sneak past, but well... at a crowded airport, it was gonna be more harm than good. The young man took a deep breath, trying his best to calm his nerves. "How do you think he managed to get past... I mean, he's part metal..." He mused, perhaps they could use the same way in. Then again, it was not like he could figure that out. Maybe he could make an illusion to mask them as security or something then again, cameras wont' be tricked by his powers. "Hey I know that son of-" Nightscale clenched his fists again. "Matt is in troubles..."
  11. GM Disoriented by Rocket's sudden burst of speed the drone was unable to get out of the way of his offensive. Sparks flew on its robotic shell as it seemed that the assault has managed to disrupt its internal mechanism. The discordant harmony of the buzzing seemed to weaken as a response as the creature systems tried to realign to the new situation. While the heroes could see that a few among the crowd of policemen and journalists have began to shake off its influence, two constructs still remained, perhaps not sufficient to establish control over a mass of people, but still having enough to keep them most of them dazed and quiescent. Lulu's senses, still projected through the facility, allowed her to realize however, that controlling intelligence of the swarm must have realized that it was under attack and had began to feel threatened as the activity of all the machine intensified and the enthralled scientists started to chant in unison. "AGGRESSION AGGRESSION - RECONFIGURATION PROCEDURES INITIATED"
  12. Sorry for the late reply ppl, but it has been a long work week for me. Fiery Fury has a decent sense motive, but Neko's bluff is better. 24 she is bluffed. (I have also rolled her attack, but then I remembered that it's not her turn to act). @Avenger Assembled you can post IC when you have time (and don't forget that Owain acts after Neko you can also take his action if you want). Since the heroes are all together before the other fighters @Spacefurry and @Dr Archeville You can go as well.
  13. I think that Nightscale is gonna do the stupid thing and try to talk to Stinger. Unless he can see any other villain around somehow. (17 notice if he can spot Princess Poison maybe I tried to roll to see if I could do more than skill mastery... but ofc not...). Ahh wait. Sportsman II is close to her... I forgot (it has been a while sorry). So Nightscale is gonna still talk with Stinger, but he is gonna also try and punch the guy that had almost brained him with a baseball bat... Draconic Fury - Strength Attack (Extras: Autofire 1 [9 ranks] ) {9PP/9PP} And miss horribly... ofc with an 11. Oh well...
  14. As the wave of energy washed on him harmlessly the young dragon smirked. "Sorry mate." Then he noticed that the villain in his arms had gone limp. "Woah thank you... Couldn't have done it without you." He teased, admittedly there was a hint of truth in his voice, after all, for now he had barely managed to scratch his quarry despite calling his dragon claws. Aided by an echo of his wings, the young super-hero jumped upward, chasing Green. "Leaving so soon?" He quipped as he used what was left of the momentum from the flight to generate a gust of wind and try and knock the villain on the floor. Hopefully it will be enough to cut the escape short.
  15. Reflex save 26 for Nightscale, halving the damages and then shrugging them off with impervious toughness. As for himself he is gonna drop Red on the floor and then go after green. And use his wing buffet to attack and trip him. Trip 9 (Flaws: Range [Touch], Extra: Linked (Strength Attack)) {9PP/9PP} 20 meh... Might not be enough. In case it is a hit the dc is 24 and trip DC is 29 (rolled a 20 on the power check), resisted with a dex or str roll.
  16. That's a hit and the drone is dazed with a 19 @EternalPhoenix it's queenie turn. Btw people if it's two heroes in a row you can go freely, don't worry about me replying. The Environmental distraction if anyone needs to maintain concentration is now lowered to 13 as less drones are active with one destroyed and 1 dazed. (Environmental Effect: Distracting DC 13) Mirror Knight (bruised) - 26 Hp 3 Rocket (no damage) 21 - Hp 4 Queenie (no damage) 15 - Hp 2 Bee Drone 3 (no damage) 16 Bee Drone 2 (dazed and bruised) 15 Enthralled Policemen (Paralyzed) 15 Crystal-Gazer (no damage) 11 - Hp 2 Bee's (no damage) 11 - HP 3 Drone Swarm (no damage) 10 Bee Drone 4 (no damage) 9 Other Enthralled Civilians (Paralyzed) 3
  17. Luke tossed a worried look toward Angela as she seemed to falter in her flight and winced. He was ready to dart down to help (assuming he could do so in time at least), remembering quite well the first few times that he had tried stretching his wings. His posture relaxed a bit when he saw her regaining control. ---- "I know sir... It was my idea though." Luke objected. Now, Wilona might have perhaps attracted the Coach's ire, which, all in all wasn't that bad of a thing in Luke's books, but it still was his responsibility. "I mean me and Leon, we are gonna keep a good watch on everyone." Hopefully... He thought, after all one of them was already leaving. So yeah. Awesome. He landed with his paws on the sidewalk, with all the grace that a bus-sized lizard could muster, which, admittedly wasn't exactly much. "Goodbye sir." Luke waved at Mr. Armstrong playfully with one of his claws. Now for sure he was gonna pay for that. But whatever right? It was not like the Coach couldn't have found another excuse to pick on him anyway. "All of us can... Dunno about you, but I'm here by choice..." Luke replied . "I mean It's not like we are in juvie you know..." Yep, not anymore in his case at least. "Love at first sight." Luke chuckled. "Well... wanna go after her?" He nudged his friend. "Yeah and no worries... As I said... favorite student of his here." The young dragon grinned, although perhaps it wasn't exactly a reassuring one given his impressive collection of fangs. "Anyway..." Luke stretched his massive serpentine neck and slowly shifted back to his human form. "Now the plan is to show you the fighting simulator and have some fun... It's a pity that not everyone is in the mood to show off..."
  18. Nightscale (15 + 7*2 GM posts = 29 3 PP) Fire and Steel 4 The Hoard of the Beast 5 The Steel strike 1 Teaching a Cat 1 Party Crashing 1 Gunsmoke and Mirrors 2 New Year New Students 1 GM Posts: Tyger Tyger 2 As it was will bee 2 Gunsmoke and Mirrors 3
  19. The swarm ones are normal sized, but she can probably try and have a look inside one of the larger drones.
  20. "Trying?" Luke playfully echoed his friend. He shook his head at the mention of his girlfriend, by then, the two knew each other enough not to take Luke's boastful nature in the wrong way. He Raised an eyebrow when his roomate grew paper wings and took up the air as well, "When did you---?" Whatever. He unfolded his own projecting his shadow on the small group as he got ready to take off with a smirk on his draconic lips. He smiled when Angela revealed a pair of dragon wings as well. "Great... You know? You are like the second dragon person I have met in my life at all..." Yeah, who knew right? It would be fun to have someone roughly of the same species around right? "I mean, third if you include my evil doppleganger." The boy grinned, although, considering Lawfyr to be evil was a bit of a stretch, all things considered, in truth, while the two had fought during their first and only encounter when they actually had time to trade a few words he did not seem that bad. "We should have a coffee one of these days." Now that might actually be something that Muirne might not totally be in for, but then again, he was sure that he could explain, given the situation. "And you say I'm the one showing off..." He chuckled when James took of his shirt before his high-tech armor. ... Luke lead the way, giving an aerial tour of the campus, one that, at least in his mind, was way more dynamic than just a walk. "And there is the battle simulator... Once we are done with the tour, we are definitely paying a visit and-" He was interrupted by a pretty familiar voice. "Oh and that one is Coach Armstrong." He pointed at the irate man below. "As you can see I'm his favorite student." He chuckled, yeah, definitely not a lie. "Don't be fooled by his apparent crankiness, when you get to know him..." He took a short pause for dramatic effect. "He his much worse..." "What's up Coach?" He shouted back at the man, taking a large swoop around the campus and lowering his altitude a bit. "And come on Coach. People see my flying all the time. They won't mind..." Plus as far as he knew the school was somehow protected against prying eyes, after all, students did use their power frequently around campus and it was not like anyone seemed to care as much. "I am just showing the rookies our awesome school."
  21. "Yeah... I... If there was a way... I'm sure that the school would have found it." Luke clenched his fists. "F- There must be. I mean... He is just... They can't..." Come on Luke! Matt needs you. "There must be a way free him from them. That's what matters." He nodded, following Chaz into the airport his gaze still hazy, like if he was lost in some sort of trance. Or in a freakin' nightmare. "There." He pointed toward the source of the familiar sensation. Now, of course, had him being thinking straight, he would have waited for Charlie's drone to scout the scene, but truth is, he wasn't. So instead, he darted ahead. "I need to get to him."
  22. Nightscale "Well fire breath, looks like we got someone," "Indeed and it's freakin' ghost on the loose. How is it for your first stake out?" Luke gave Carmen a playful 'I told you so' grin. Now, he wasn't exactly sure that the guy was involved though, from what little he had learned about the current operation, it was pretty secretive and the newcomer well, not so much... "Now, how do we get in hotshot?" As the two Claremonters studied the building they easily noticed that while barred from access by common thieves and potential squatters it was by far not a fortress, one of the lower floor windows was locked, but the walls surrounding it was in such a state of disrepair that it would take little more than the application of their enhanced strength to tear it away. . There were more opportunities on the second floor as well, an open window on a balcony by the side of the building and a crack in the walls that could easily be enlarged enough for them to fit in, with little effort. Finally, while all the other entrances were locked, forcefulness or craftiness on their part could open even the main entrance or any of the side doors if they wanted to. "Easily..." Luke pointed toward the building. "Lady's choice?" He grinned.
  23. GM Inside the Casino Mirror Knight --- As Mirror Knight began navigating the abandoned casino he quickly realized that he was being watched, there were no human eyes hiding in the darkness though, but a couple of cameras freshly placed around the room and far from inactive unlike the army of slot machines that crowded the place. As he progressed toward the theater he kept finding traces in the dusty carpets on the floor, something pretty heavy had been dragged along the way. The same unnatural pull that had drawn him toward the building was growing stronger as he entered the corridor leading to his destination, as his gaze shifted to the walls of the corridor it glanced over someething that looked like a sign, spray painted on the colorful wallpaper. An arrow and a series of bright letters "WELCOME". Finally a door blocked his path. In the background he could feel a faint music playing, one he had already somewhere, perhaps that fateful night...
  24. They all notice that while the place was supposedly abandoned, there are signs that it has power and Mirror Knight also notices cameras inside. Nightscale is gonna Skill Mastery the notice test and roll 20. I'll recap the way ins that both him and La Puma Negra find in the IC post. @MoonSimply Luke will follow Carmen's lead on this one.
  25. Leon and Luke are pretty much tumbling down a slide of coins. Acrobatics or Reflex DC 20 to check how they do so, a fail means a bruise, otherwise they both get to the bottom ok. For Luke it's 27 woah
