  1. Still reeling from the mental onslaught Nightscale struggled to regain his footing, he shook his head as if he could physically shrug off the influence of Mindfire attack. "Why does it always have to be psychics..." He half whispered, half growled as he narrowed his eyes searching the chaos of the battlefield for the villain that had just tried to invade his and Muirne's minds. First Sebastian and then this.... "There..." He grinned as he finally found his quarry, closing the distance between them he caught the fiery telepath in his claws. "You are not going anywhere now..."
  2. Mmm... after talking with Thev since there is no good target, Luke is gonna instead spend an hero point to action surge and just go and use his rending claw on Mindfire with a 22 to hit. Rending Claws Touch + 7, DC 26 Tou, Damages + Drain Toughness (DC 19) Variable Descriptor, Affect Incorporeal 2, Improved Critical [Crit 19-20] If that works he will also try to use improved grab to grapple with 35
  3. Well Nightscale is gonna try to turn into gold as many villains or duplicates as he can catch within his dragon breath (without hitting his friends) With this: Goldfire Transform 9 (Anything into one result [Anything into Gold]. Extra: General Area [Type: General; Shape: Cone; Size: 180 ft with area 1] Feats: Progression 1 [Area], Flaws: Distracting, Range[Touch] Drawbacks: Full Power) {36PP/36} Save DC is 19 Reflexes to half DC 19/15 Fort not to be transformed into gold (with +1 each rd to go back to normal) Stuff in the area is also turned into gold,, but the effect is temporary he won't mind too much since things will turn back to normal eventually, but he won't include anyone innocent or a friend in the area of effect. He will use his move action to stand up as well.
  4. Nightscale Just 1...: Foes from the fens 1
  5. Luke had just returned from work when he received the strange invitation, he checked his phone with a puzzled look, wondering who might have sent them this invitation to an abandoned warehouse. "Smells like a trap." He mused, then again he only had one way to find out, plus, to be honest, he didn't knew many supervillains who knew his private number so... "What to do you think man?" He lazily turned toward Leon. "Definitely gonna want to scout the place before dashing in..." He continued as he got ready to head out. Unlike his friend Luke didn't really need a mask to conceal his identity, instead, he removed his shirt (he had destroyed too many already) kicked away his sneakers and willed his true nature to resurface, shifting into an hybrid shape of his human and dragon form, clad in black scales and with his claws claws unsheathed. It was a trick he had just recently picked out admittedly, but a handy one at that, no need to carry his Claremont-issued costume anymore... "Whatever... Let's go..." He smirked as he dashed into the night. OOC - Sorry this took me a while, hopefully I'll be able to catch up with posting a bit in the upcoming weeks.
  6. 23 only on toughness Normally I would Hero point this, but I can't post much these days, so perhaps it's better if Nightscale spends his next action clearing his daze. 25 on the will save, but I rolled toughness by mistake so it's actually 23, well a fail anyway I guess he got his second bruise. Ouch.
  7. "Roger. Roger..." Luke nodded as one of Bernadette clones explained the situation. "Just an ordinary Wednesday than...." He smirked. It was definitely not the first time after all that an afternoon of innocent fun had turned into action. A ton of hostiles, civilians potentially in danger, looks like a job for the Young Guardians. A shame that he hadn't brought his costume, although... it was not like he was out of alternatives. The young man darted out of the makeshift arena, far from prying eyes where he could shed his human skin and assume his true, reptilian shape. Now clad in obsidian scales he rushed back into the fray. He unleashed a powerful roar, no need to be subtle when you are a bus-sized lizard after all, unfolded his wings, using them to direct a blast of wind against the villains, hopefully one strong enough to distract them from the vehicle they had just broken into and perhaps buy his more stealthy friends an opening.
  8. "Always up for some proper trainin'" Luke smirked, 'casually' stretching his shoulder and 'incidentally' flexing his muscles as well. "Secret rooms? Neat." He chuckled. "Got any treasure around here as well?" He pretended to sniff the air, trying to check if his dragon senses revealed some precious hidden within. "A vault, maybe?" He did seems a bit less excited about the jet though. "I prefer to fly organic." He was smiling, trying to conceal a slight flinch though. In truth, he hated the idea of flying in a metal tube that went at supersonic speed, the only time he had done so in his life was to visit Muirne's family in the Uk and that has been more than enough for him, not that he would ever admit it. "Whatever... Lead the way..."
  9. Nightscale is gonna rush outside somewhere where he is not in line of sight and Shapeshift into his dragon form as a Standard Action. Then he will use Move-by action ideally to keep moving (in total he can move up to 500 ft) and get close to a group of villains, ideally Visor, the clones (and possibly Sureshot as well) and then he will hero point to use: Trip 9 (Extras: Area [Type: General; Shape: Burst; Size: 45ft]; Knockback, Flaws: Range [Touch]) Generating a burst of wind from his wings to try and knock down (+ knockback) as many of the villains as possible. Everyone hit has to make a Strength or Dexterity check (whichever is better) ad DC 19 or get knocked prone and knocked back as if they have been hit with an attack at PL 9. He will only do so if he can find a position where only villains will be hit (no civilians or heroes) if he can't find one he will still hero point to try attack and ideally grapple Visor with Improved Grab... But in that case he will fail with an 11... (meh) to hit.
  10. "Amen my man." Luke chuckled and gave Alice brother a pat on the back when he mentioned dreaming that a pyrotechnic would burn down his school. "I definitely wished the same for my old school..." Well, when no one was around at least and definitely he didn't do the same for his 'new one' although given the student body it was a much more likely possibility there. "Southsider and proud of it sir..." Luke replied to Aaron question with a cocky grin. He did not comment about the school though, after all while Claremont was quite prestigious there was no need to invite any followup questions, or draw attention to the whole superpower things. The young man rolled his eyes as the big brother explained himself. "Come on, be a cool big bro and let your sis have some fun." He commented while ruffling the hair on the back of his neck, not that he wouldn't have done the same though, for his own little 'bro (although Gabriel was kinda of a model student, unlike Luke himself...). A light chuckle escaped his lips as Owain mentioned that the two of them were 'exchange students', but again, he did not comment further, no need to reveal this stranger, Alice brother or otherwise, that they two were time-travelers as well.
  11. Luke heart was racing in his chest as Shift and the rest of the team dragged the freakin' Conqueror Worm into a portal conjured by his girlfriend. "F- Yeah." He shouted as the monster was dragged into the darkness, hopefully forever (Although those types always found a way to come back for the sequel, he was confident of that). Now perhaps, the exultation was a bit out of place coming from between the fangs of a bus-sized dragon, but whatever right? He didn't have time to ravel in the team triumph that the psychic scream scattered his though and when clarity returned, Cas was gone. He angrily roared his frustration away, he couldn't just escape... not after what he had done to... yet... there were more pressing matters. One in particular. He rushed toward the woman he loved, dragonscales being shed while on the way, the last few steps being made wearing his human form again. "Hey... you did it you know?" He smiled softly as he caught Murine tightly in his arms. "Thank us? Freakin' thank you... You did this..." His gaze sought to meet Muirne own as he gently wiped a tear from her cheeks. "Everythin is gonna be alright."
  12. Despite the horror of the situation the nineteen years old Luke could not avoid finding the idea of fighting together with two veteran heroes somewhat exciting. At least it was one more reason not to make a fool of himself, well, not that he needed any of course, given the whole, civilians being in danger thing. Using what was left of the momentum of the dash toward the clearing the young dragon leapt in the air, sending himself crashing against the vampire, putting all his weight into the assault. Apparently it was enough to toss the creature off-balance. With a satisfied grin, the young man used his claws to keep the monster pinned. Dragon beats Bat... Nop... Too corny. "See... I told you're not gonna hurt anyone else." His eyes glowed softly as he scanned the fight for the other monstrous assailant. "Where the f*ck is your master?" He asked. "I bet he is too much of a coward to enter the fray himself?"
  13. This was a freakin' mess. Machete Max was escaping and zombies were still swarming them. Unfortunately though, while he was a pretty good swimmer, Luke was not confident that he could catch up with the escaping mobster given the advantage. He could at leas deal with the undead though, perhaps Chimera could do the rest? "Can you catch him?" He asked Chimera, as he did his best to cut through the zombies with his claws. "Don't worry about me I'll keep them busy..." He added, with a smirk on his lips. Although that would mean letting Blowfish go.... Which was frustrating, but after all he knew where the gangster had his base of operations anyway and apparently he was the less or two evils anyway.
  14. Nightscale is gonna try and clean up as many zombies as he can by splitting attacks using autofire (if I remember well he can take 10 against minions, I am not sure how are they are to hit. but he will try hittin 3 of them rolling a 16 with -3 to hit due to autofire). Draconic Fury - Strength Attack (Extras: Autofire 1 [9 ranks] ) If he succeeds the DC is 24 (+1 for each 2 point that it hits). If he manages to kill at least one of the zombies he will use the Take Down Attack talent to hit another.
  15. Nightscale is gonna try and punch + grapple the vampire. Strength Attack (Extras: Autofire 1 [9 ranks] ) To hit: 29! Crit! Grapple is just 27 though
  16. "Hey Stop you freakin coward!" Luke shouted as the necromantic mobster escaped the scene, he tried once to grab him on the way out, but alas, he could not, his claws finding only the air. Dejected, the young man threw a glance toward the gold, to be sure it was still there and Max hadn't found some way to steal the prize and than sighed, staring at the small crowd of undead, realizing that unlike the corpses they found on the ship, those have been living people not that long ago. "Feels like he is the worst after all..." He muttered, as he got ready to finish the job and send them back where they belonged.
  17. Luke smiled triumphantly as he sensed the Worm faltering bravado, when the rest of the team began pushing him into the darkness. He was about to dash toward Shift and the trapped supervillain, to offer his considerable strenght in support and drag the villain in the shadow that he belonged to, but Chaz words brought him back to the fact that he was indeed still holding Cas in his claws. "Soon..." He grinned as his attention turned back to the telepath trapped by his grasp. In truth, it wasn't very heroic to get revenge on a fallen foe, but he would have to gather all of his self control not to do so with the man that kidnapped the woman he loved. He gritted his teeth as the psychic unlsaught washed over his mind. He resited it, barely, growling angrly as the energ assaulted his brain. "Not now... I am busy..." While squeezing Cas a bit in retailation was certainly tempting, there was no time for that. Perhaps he could not assist with the portal, but the least he could do was try to buy time for his friends in containing the onslaught of the puppets. He flew as short distance, far enough that his companion won't be affected and then used the winds generated from his wings to try and knock down as many of the Worm victims as he could.
  18. Ok well besides as Chaz has suggested Luke plans to keep Cas far enough from the Worm, so he is not moving close to the portal. Can he use the wing buffet to help slow down the influx of reinforcements maybe if that can be of some aid?
  19. "Not if we have anything to say about that." Nightscale objected with a confident smirk. Although given the horrors that he had seen deep down in that basement he was more than a little worried, sure he was with two veteran heroes, but there were also innocent lives on the line. "The master she is talkin' about I met him, a compete monster, we have to stop him, whatever he is planning.." It was unfortunate that the man had managed to escape them once already. "Not sure these are actually vampires though, he didn't strike me as the supernatural type, more like, messed up science..." He explained as he rushed toward the monster.
  20. Nightscale is going to try and feint as a move action (he has fast feint to avoid the -5) with Skill Mastery on Bluff at 20. After that he is gonna try and punch him with a 15... well... maybe with the feint? If by some miracles he manages to hit, he will grapple with a natural 1 so well... it would still be a 29, but I think it's an autofail?
  21. 18 Tou ... Failed the calculation is also wrong as I used toughness instead of will, so the roll was actually lower. I think he is gonna hero point it. 4... but it becomes 14 that +13 gives 27 (26 if the bruise counts on this) so pass, although not by that much. As far as his action goes, I think he is gonna hold Cas secured in his claws and away from the Worm and the portal. He will try to help though, by trying to prevent as many in the crowd that he can from helping the Worm. He will use his Wing Buffet to do so if he can do that without hitting any of his friends. Trip 9 (Extras: Area [Type: General; Shape: Burst; Size: 45ft]; Knockback, Flaws: Range [Touch])
  22. Luke had been enjoying the game so far, although he was not a good shot as his team-mates and he had been "killed" plenty of time. In truth, while usually the young dragon was a pretty competitive in regard of this king of things, this time he saw their game more as an occasion fool around with his friends without the pressure of actual training or superhero work (plus it was a chance to for some playful teasing with his girl which was definitely a benefit as well). He was sneaking around (although not exactly proficiently so at the time), seeking for his next target, when he heard the crush. "I don't think that a freakin' tank is allowed by the rules..." He muttered, he briefly called for his 'hoard-sense' to check roughly where Muirne was, now he was aware that his girl could defend herself, quite possibly better than he could, but that didn't mean that he would not worry, especially after the whole Casanova thing. Then he darted toward the source of the noise, light on his feet, but still with an healthy dose of urgency, after all, himself and most of his friends were super-heroes after all, but it was unlikely that the staff would have the same advantage...
  23. As it was time to get into the mansion, Luke offered Muirne his arm and a smile. "Shall we...." He teased. "Hey..." Luke protested, albeit with a grin on his lips as Leon mentioned his limited culinary skills. Still, it was a relief to see the tension between his friends going down, although, admittedly, it was likely that a single conversation would solve the issue, it was better than nothing. "We are not the Freedom League... yet..." Luke corrected with a cocky smirk on his lips, while sure, they still were a new team, with young in their name after all, but that didn't mean they couldn't be an ambitious one. "Neat place you got here man..." Luke ruffled the hair on the back of his neck as he inspected the mansion, admittedly he was accustomed to far more humble accommodations than this one. The opulence of the place almost made the Soutshide boy feel a bit uneasy. "One day you're gonna tell me how you make that much dough man..." He added, giving Charlie a playful nudge.
  24. "Now... Guys... Can we agree that you both suck and go separate ways?" Luke teased as he jumped into the action. "No...? Ok... Your choice..." He jumped past the zombies and rushed at Machete Max, now admittedly he didn't like Blowfish particularly more, but one of them were using dark magic to animate the dead the other wasn't so yeah, there was that wasn't it? Plus, Chimera seemed to somehow like or at least tolerate the gangster, for reason that he was gonna have to investigate, but whatever right? He did his best to keep the crate of cursed gold in his sight, just in case, but that definitely interfered with his aim and Machete Max easily dodged his claws.
