Predator Predator regards the armored alien, conscious of the civilians as they move out of the way. “I am, just not this Terra.” She corrects using the extraterrestrial name for Earth some aliens used. “But you are correct, I am not a Star Knight.” Inside her suit, the side by side points out enough differences for her to lend credit to his not being the former Star Khan. “Kinarr Khan? I assume you are related to the former Star Khan on record, Kinan Khan.” As she watched the self proclaimed Star Khan, Cynthia tracked one of the young heroes, a girl with cat-like features safely extricating more civilians before venturing back in. Predator mentally wished she could help with the evacuation. But if the man was indeed related to the one tyrant she could not take the chance. Though his actions had not gone unnoticed. Rescuing the civilians and not acting hostile despite being targeted by her. An old memory of someone she knew back in her world came to unbidden to mind. She decided to deescalate. The glow of the blaster dimmed out and Predator lowered her arm. She hoped to not regret to choice. “You may address me as Predator.”
  2. Chimera Jennifer sat in the car with officer Chuck watching the building. She was nervous and anxious, feeling the occasional ‘tug’. She fidgeted as she tried to stay seated. Something was telling her she needed to get out and go, but she wasn’t sure if it was her own desire to check out what was happening or something else trying to urge her on. As they sat and waited, someone clearly smashed through a window and dropped to a dumpster. The man hopped down to the pavement and Chuck told Jenn to stay put. Even as he crossed the street Jennifer climbed out of the car to better see. She watched nervously as the officer attempted to talk the biker down, only for the man to swing the sheathed weapon at him. “Crap!” In a flash, Chimera is across the street.

  4. Predator Predator ran towards the smoking building. As she approaches, two figures further down the street ping on her screens. She doesn’t recognize the costumed figures but she hopes they are there to help. “Cynthia, contact emergency services. Give them the address and request fire, rescue and police for crowd control.” Overhead, one of the upper floor windows explodes outward, raining glass. Something flies into the building and a moment later a new, armored figure appears and lands in the street. Several warnings flash on her screens and Predator instinctively reacts. Predator levels her gauntleted arm on the new arrival, the barrel of the built-in blaster glowing. She doesn’t fire though as she sees him set the mother and child down. She keeps the blaster trained on him as he stands up straight. Images appeared on her screens, already identifying markers between the once stellar ruler and the younger individual standing before her. She spots the other two as they move to check the building. It makes her feel a little as she confronts the armored man. “Identify yourself, Zultasian.”

  6. Chimera Max’s blade flashed, but this time she was ready. Chimera’s own hand flashes out, catching the machete. Grinning at her success, she twists and yanks, pulling the weapon from his hand. Silver-gray tendrils snaked around the blade… Wait… did she see a hint of gold in the sheen of the techno-organic matter? She would have to worry about that later. “The only thing I’m going to teach you, is that it was a mistake to play god with the dead.” She silently hoped that sounded a lot better than she thought it did. The machete strained as Chimera gripped the machete. The tendrils holding it frimly as her thumb pressed against the blade’s razor edge. The layer of alien techno-organic versus the earthly steel. The sound of the blade cracking sounded. The next moment there was resounding snap-pop as tiny fragments scattered. Half of the machete’s blade clattered to the ground. Maybe she was over zealous, maybe she took too long, or maybe she just telegraphs her attacks too much. Whatever it was, when she dropped the remainder of the weapon and lunged forward, Max had already stepped back and her swing missed its target.
  7. Paper From the corner of his eye, Paper caught the Worm’s movement. Sheets of paper swarmed to shield him, but it was a hair too slow and the explosive attack actually drove him back a foot. He gritted his teeth and sneered at the monster of a man. More puppets appeared, pouring out of doorways to swell the teeming masses. Multi-Girl, Shadowborne, and the girl calling herself Ghule were managing to hold them at bay. But for how much longer could they? Paper shot a glare at Stormcrow and looked away. “I don’t need you to tell me how to do my job.” He grumbled even as he turned away, rolling his eyes. His attention falling on the zombie puppeteer. The pool of paper that had once been a dinosaur stirs and swarms. The paper easily slipped around the puppets to swarm around Shift and the Conqueror Worm. Suddenly cords of paper exploded from the amassing paper to twist around the thing that was once a man. They writhe and twist, shaping into binding chains as they continue trying to completely ensnare the Worm.
  8. Predator The smooth surface of Predator’s helmet reflected the clown’s face. It tilted a little as she regarded the clown’s request. It shifted focus to Shooting Star as if to gauge her thought to the request. In the long run, he was only a minion really. If they could get to the ringleader at the cost of letting him go, It may prove the smarter move. She gives the other hero a small nod. She looks back at the clown, then down at the belt. “Remove the belt and speak quickly. You’ll have until the police arrive.” Predator holds out hand. “When they arrive we will give them your name and description. At that time, it will be out of our hands.”

  11. Blackstaff Blackstaff seemed completely unfazed by the cave and its myriad of ‘environmental contents’. She pushed on, hold the glowing pentacle before her. “Ouch kid.” She said jokingly, though it probably sounded coming from someone that appeared not much older than Golden Star himself. “That hurt.” “That would possibly be a shrunken head.” Blackstaff repied casually. She had noticed the skull at about the same time and stepped towards it. The wizard crouched in front of it to get a better look. Pulling a short slender piece of wood from her coat. It had a worked mineral point on one end, and its other end was capped in a pink substance and metal ring. She paused a moment before poking the shrunken head with the eraser end of the pencil.
  12. Could Chimera snap the machete and still attack? Time to ker-punch Melee attack: 20 Toughness DC23 still rolling at PL8 since that’s how she started this.
  13. Paper “The Paper Plane.” Leon says without hesitation. A smirk on his face as he produces another apple. “At least if I need to hide out somewhere, I know where I can lay low.” He takes a bite of the apple as he walks. “Or where to go when it’s Luke’s turn to cook.” Leon teases his friend. He glances at Charlie. “And really? If we expand that much? Someone’s overconfident. This ain’t the League. I don’t think we’re gonna have people beating down the doors to join, let alone move in.” He smirked again. A moment later Leon realizes he sounds more excepting of the idea of being apart of the team still. He quickly looks ahead, putting on a neutral expression and air of disinterest. He takes another bite of the apple.
  14. Chimera Jennifer couldn’t believe her luck when she drew the night shift. Other interns just gave her confused looks at her excitement, but night shift meant she would have plenty of time for uninterrupted research. And, if anything did happened she had a chance of being one of the first ones on the scene… Not that she wanted things to happen. Things happening usually meant people getting hurt, and she didn’t want anyone getting hurt. Sometimes it was difficult enjoying her work… Jennifer gave a small sigh as she stirred her coffee. Suddenly she felt a strange tugging. It was a new sensation. It felt like the symbiote, but at the same time it felt separate from it. It sent a tingle through her and she could feel the symbiote squirm. Dispatch came over the radio of the poor man assigned to babysit her. Something was about to happen. Something involving a cape from the sound of it. Jennifer wondered briefly if there was a connection. She gave the officer a nod and collected a lid for her coffee. Something told her she was going to need the caffeine. “Let’s get going then.”
  15. Blackstaff Blackstaff gritted his teeth as the icicles shattered against the man’s barrier. He was a little surprised when the giant tea cup dropped. When their attacker called up green webbing he braced to defend against it. It wasn’t until it was too late he realized he was not the intended target. He looked back to see Dreamer bound, but not quite helpless. He would have to help her as soon a as he could, but first he needed to deal with this entity first. He still wasn’t sure if it was a man or a demon. Blackstaff had to be careful. “Lumaria.” Blackstaff snaps his finger and the flash of brilliant light sprang to being. Light that was caught and magnified by the mist of tiny ice shards that filled the space between them after his last attack.
  16. Gonna use a HP to alt power a Dazzle 10 (visual) on Dougal. So he gets a Ref save DC20 If he fails he’s basically blinded Each round after he gets a Fort save DC20 to shake it off. (+1 each round after first.)
  17. Paper Leon grinned. He opened his mouth to say something, most likely something wholly inappropriate, but Owain beat him to it. “Not that we aren’t trying, mind you. But she’s being stubbornly good.” He chuckles as Neko rejoins the group. Leon brightens up as he slips an arm around his girlfriend. “And party we shall.” He smiles at her.
  18. I have to laugh. That is the first time I’ve actually used that pentacle in a thread. And I was going to remove it from Blackstaff’s sheet in his next update.
  19. Blackstaff The walk across the remaining swamp was a little tense as the quartet flinched at nearly every bubble and gurgle the waters produced. Needless to say, Blackstaff’s patience was wearing thin by the time they reached the cove. She took a moment at the entrance to center herself with a few calming breathes. “Of course.” Blackstaff pulled the silver pentacle from around her neck. Lifting it up, she reaches out with a touch of magic and the it begins to shine. A warm light bathes the group and illuminates the cove entrance. “Step carefully.” She warned. Holding the light out before her the wizard carefully begins to lead the way into the cove.

History: While in her freshman year as Business major at Emerald City University, Lark was attacked by a werewolf one night. She was the only survivor of the group she had been with. Weeks in the hospital and questions from police and media left her feeling scared and tired, but it wasn’t until the next full moon approached and the nightmares began that she truly felt the terror. She had transformed into a savage beast like the one that had attacked her for two nights straight before stumbling across Blackstaff’s office. He had already been investigating the attacks that were occurring every full moon, when Lark explained she had survived the previous attack he quickly agreed to help her. Using her connection to her attacker the two tracked down the werewolf responsible for the ‘Full Moon Murders’ as the media had dubbed them. With the werewolf responsible for turning her dead, Lark’s nightmares stopped. But in truth she was still deeply afraid of her condition. Blackstaff attempted to remove the curse, but was unable to. Instead he promised to help her control the transformations and the easy now inside her clawing to escape. So, she began working at his office as his secretary/office assistant. Though she has recently pressed Blackstaff to be more involved with cases. Personality & Motivation: Lark is cheerful and upbeat. She had planned on a simple life running a business of her own. And while her condition complicates things, she still wants to make something of herself. Courageous and strong willed, she has practiced with her werewolf nature to better control it. She isn’t afraid to put herself in danger to help someone else, though she still sometimes overestimates her abilities. Power Descriptions: Lark is a werewolf, complete with all its weaknesses.
