  1. Equipment All Damage is nonlethal by default, so the Feat isn’t necessary, but it adds some flavour so feel free to keep it unless you’ve got something to spend that one EP on Misc. Fixed a typo and added a Clarification to the Concealment, but I don’t see any reason you shouldn’t get an APPROVED
  2. Early WIP for possible 2018 Claremonter Putting this here to maybe get some first feedback, ask in chat if you want any clarification! Concept is an insecure teen with Ghost Pirate powers, which he got by dying. Character Name: Power Level: 7 or 10 (105/105PP or 150/150PP) Trade-Offs: +2 Attack / -2 Damage, +4 Defense / -4 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 0 In Brief: 1-2 sentences which sum up the whole character. Residence: Base of Operations: Catchphrase: Alternate Identity: Identity: Jonah Birthplace: Darkwood Beach, Antigua Occupation: Affiliations: Family: Description: Age: Apparent Age: Gender: Ethnicity: Height: Weight: Eyes: Hair: Abilities: (-10) + 4 + (-10) + 4 + 4 + (-1) = 1PP Strength: -/14 (-/+2) Dexterity: 18 (+4) Constitution: - (-) Intelligence: 14 (+2) Wisdom: 14 (+2) Charisma: 9 (-1) Combat: 16 + 16 = 32PP Initiative: +4 Attack: +8 Melee, +8 Ranged Grapple: -/+10 Defense: +14 (+8 Base, +6 Dodge Focus), +4 Flat-Footed Knockback: -3 Saving Throws: 0 + 6 + 2 = 8PP Toughness: +6 (- Con, +6) Fortitude: - (-) Reflex: +10 (+4 Dex, +6) Will: +4 (+2 Wis, +2) Skills: 64R = 16PP Acrobatics 2 (+6) Climb 4 (-/+6) Escape Artist 6 (+10) Knowledge (Theology and Philosophy) 2 (+4) Knowledge (History) 2 (+4) Language (English [Native]) Notice 8 (+10) Perform (Oratory) 4 (+3) Search 4 (+6) Sense Motive 6 (+8) Sleight of Hand 4 (+8) Stealth 8 (+12) Survival 4 (+6) Swim 10 (-/+12) Feats: 9PP Dodge Focus 6 Precise Shot Hide in Plain Sight Master Plan Powers: 81 + 23 + 11 = 115PP Ghost Physique Container 16.2 (81 PP Container) Immunity 30 (Fortitude Saves) [30PP] Regeneration 11 (Recovery Bonus 9, Resurrection 2 [1 day], Feats: Regrowth, Persistent) [13PP] Insubstantial 4 ((Affected by Electromagnetic Energy) Feats: Innate, Flaws: Permanent) [17PP] Immunity 9 (Life Support) [9PP] Flight 2 (Extras: Duration (Continuous)) [6PP] Protection 6 [6PP] Ghost Crew Summoning Array (22 PP Array, Feats: Alternate Power 1) [23PP] BP: Damage 10 (Extras: Range (Perception); Feats: Affect Corporeal 2; Flaws: Action (Full Action)) [22/22PP] AP: Communication 4 (Mental, Extras: Area; Drawbacks: Noticeable) [7/22PP] linked to ESP 4 (All Senses, Drawbacks: Noticeable) [7+15=22/22PP] Ectoplasmic Stabilizer Container 3.6 (18PP Container, Flaws: Limited (One Bodypart at a time), Unreliable (5 Uses) [Rechargeable through powerful Electricity]) [11PP] Duration 4 (on Insubstantial; Continuous) [4PP] Enhanced Strength 14 (+2) [14PP] Drawbacks: (-3) + (-4) = -7PP Nightmares (Common) [DC10, 3 PP] Vulnerability (Electromagnetic Energy [Very Common, 3 PP], Moderate [+50% DC, 1 PP] DC Block ATTACK RANGE SAVE EFFECT Totals: Abilities (1) + Combat (32) + Saving Throws (8) + Skills (16) + Feats (9) + Powers (111) - Drawbacks (0) =181/187 Power Points
  3. Alright, it’s been a while since I’ve played 3E so some of these may be incorrect, but: Abilities: 10 + 12 + 12 + 2 + 8 + 2 = 46PP Strength: 20 (+5) Dexterity: 22 (+6) Constitution: 22 (+6) Intelligence: 12 (+2) Wisdom: 18 (+4) Charisma: 12 (+1) 2E still is on the d20 system, which means that attributes raise 1 every 2 ranks, so this should be about the same mechanically. 3E added some more attributes that aren’t in 2E. Combat: 12 + 16 = 28PP Initiative: +6 Attack: +10 Melee, +6 Ranged Grapple: +11 Defense: +12 (+8 Base, +4 Dodge Focus), +4 Flat-Footed Knockback: -4 The two attributes that affect combat instead are inside the combat section here, as attack. This way you have a slightly lower ranged attacks, with the melee attacks at 10, which is the usual rank for starting PCs. Defenses work a bit different too. From what I can tell the 3E character’s fairly balanced, so this carries over fairly well, when looking at the next section too: Saving Throws: 0 + 3 + 3 = 6PP Toughness: +8 (6 Con, +0) Fortitude: +6 (+6 Con, +0) Reflex: +9 (+6 Dex, +3) Will: +7 (+4 Wis, +3) This is an alright split, with the character being somewhat on the dodgy side, not the tank-y one. Since I’m not entirely sure what the concept is, the different saves are fairly average, this will probably need some altering to your preferences Skills: 28 R = 7 PP Acrobatics 6 (+12) Diplomacy 6 (+7) Notice 6 (+10) Sense Motive 10 (+14) This is ported over pretty much 1:1, but it’s a low amount of skills, so my recommendation would be to invest some more points into this Feats: 12PP Acrobatic Bluff [Same thing as Agile Feint, judging by the name] All-Out Attack Attack Focus (Melee) 2 Dodge Focus 4 Fearless Improved Critical (Unarmed) Power Attack Takedown Attack You will notice I left out 3 here. Reasons are as follows: -I’m not sure Favored Environment (Closed Quarters would be allowed, this would have to be discussed between the refs I feel) -Skill Mastery applies to 4 different skills at once in 2E, and getting it on all 4 seems a bit over-the-top -Track requires the survival skill, which the character, as it stands, doesn’t get much (+4) out of I added the two Focuses, which apply to your Combat section, but are listed here Powers: Y + 11 + = YYPP Healing Factor Container (Y PP Container) Protection 2 [2/YPP] (descriptor here) Immunity 2 (disease, poison) [2/YPP] (descriptor here) Regeneration Y Damage 5 (Extras: Autoattack; Feats: Mighty [to 10]) [11PP] (descriptor here) Whenever you see a Y, that means I didn’t know a number. In this case that’s because Regeneration is a bit complicated to set up, especially when I don’t know what you’re going for exactly. The same goes for the descriptors. Drawbacks: (-0) + (-0) = -0PP DC Block ATTACK RANGE SAVE EFFECT Totals: Abilities (46) + Combat (28) + Saving Throws (6) + Skills (7) + Feats (12) + Powers (0) - Drawbacks (0) = 99/150 Power Points So, that would leave you with 51 PP to customize, which would probably get you a pretty alright character.
  4. PC “Much appreciated. Yeah, I doubt they have the same tech as Solemn. But I suppose there’s only one way to find out. “ Bonfire slowly became more and more translucent (which, with little light, was ever more obvious), soon having fully adopted his smoke-form. “I think I have an idea where they went. Follow me, with the alarms seeing us as exceptions we should be able to get pretty close before they can react. They might’ve hacked into the CCTV, but I’m not sure we can do much about that one, you do stand out a bit on that. “ With that said, Bonfire moved forward, through the checkpoint, and into the airport proper. With only a fence guarding the area, getting it wouldn’t prove to be a problem for Leviathan either.
  5. Barrier wasn’t entirely comfortable with the mission, truth be told. It was likely that freeing the spy would only come back to cause more trouble in the future, when Amalsi had gathered more power. And in order to free him, they would first have to get past what sounded like a well-equipped base. With all the people in the room, that certainly was possible. But in the end, her personal opinion was not of importance in this case. She had been sent along, so she would do whatever was required of her. And it was probably a good idea to not have the Voidrunners run around unchecked. And that part was something that Sitara would probably appreciate help with. She nodded, as she followed along with the conversation, even if she had yet to raise her voice to mention anything. She did not see a need to, not at this point at least.
  6. From his position above the heads of the thugs, Jann surveyed the situation for just a moment. There were many, but he and his allies could take them out given the right opportunities. He gripped onto a light dangling above him, ripping it out and throwing the entire thing towards one of the men closing in on him. From there, he dropped back onto the ground, connecting an upwards jab onto one of the two men that had tried to attack him before, before grabbing yet another barstool currently flying through the air, towards him, and using it to finish off his opponent. The second man attacked him, a broken bottle in hand. But he was too slow, his attack clearly showing his intent, giving Jann ample time to slip in, take control of his arm, and redirect the stab into the man’s own leg. Jann kept up his grip, throwing the now cursing biker forward, into one of his friends that were attempting to charge in to assist.
  7. “Have not. Have been too weak, but not powerless.” The response came quick, while Jann continued to tear into the bushes. He did not place all of his attention on his movements, instead always scanning the surroundings, even if he didn’t move his head any more than he had to because of the swings. “There are limits, but many do not even attempt to get close to them, they cherish their weakness, where strength would be achievable. And then demand others protect them when they can’t do it themselves. As he said it, he separated the last parts of the bush that were obstructing the path, picking up the large section and then walking further down the path, towards the next bush.
  8. GM The inspector let loose another very quiet sigh, as he recalled events and began to talk, visibly getting less and less comfortable as his body began to show the effects of being held upside down. He spoke fairly quietly, probably aware that the street was just within hearing distance. The street, in which by now a minor commotion had formed. More and more people stopped to watch what was happening, even as Barrier did what she could to wave them away. Times like these, she wished for the authority the Praetorians had had back in the Delazti Empire, where she could enforce these things. And off in the distance, she could see the local law enforcement approach. “This place is great for smuggling. The controls are tough, but if you can get through them, there’s a ton of money to be made. With the amount of freight that leaves going to all sorts of places, all sorts of things can be sent across long distance with little suspicion, because again, tough controls. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one the Syndicate’s hired. “
  9. For now, Barrier mainly listened. The Inspector’s briefing already offered a variety of options on how she and her allies could approach the situation. Covering all the angles would be difficult, but it meant that whatever was behind it all, it couldn’t hide forever. When Hyperslice and Queenie spoke she nodded. “I don’t know much large their supply is, but I doubt they would just stumble across a cache of sophisticated weaponry. I suspect they are being supplied by another organization, one which likely has a use for their actions. It is not guaranteed, of course, but it is the option which is easiest to investigate. “ “We will need whatever data you have on all of these groups, we may be able to track down something useful. I also support my ally’s questions, the more we know about the stolen goods, the more we can limit our investigation. “
  10. GM The cloud gave pursuit at first, moving after Bliss as she catapulted herself backward. But as soon as she’d gained a fair amount of distance, which happened nearly instantaneously, the cloud stopped. It floated in the doorway, and didn’t move further outwards. There it just floated, without any further action. There was nothing that Bliss could sense, but the radio scanner inside Starshot’s helmet showed a sudden increase in background static. Perhaps there was something there. From Bliss’ perspective meanwhile, it looked like the cloud was growing bigger and getting denser. But even then, it didn’t move forward.

It seemed the shaman thought further than what Jann had expected. Here, he needed to explain. Something that, all things considered, was not his strength, by any means. He thought about how to put his thoughts into words, something that the difference in the two languages didn’t help with, and then spoke. “Do not ask for support in combat, but for informations. Yours know the area, the buildings. The times, the people. Things that all make it easier to act once we do. Knowing which places prove viable to strikes, or to run and hide, or learning of people’s regular dwellings, they are all things that mean that once we strike, we do so with accuracy. “ He did not want to strike into the mostly unknown. Not when up against a force that outnumbered what he and his ally could do. It was only if he absolutely had to that he would.
  12. Hakim, for the most part, just listened. He agreed with both sides, and just that already placed him in an uncomfortable situation. He could understand Salmon’s opinion. It was a way to get some attention, and probably some nice corporate benefits. And it would place him right up there at the head of EC. But at the same time, Hakim still didn’t trust Mars all that much. Not just because of his job, even if that played into it. There was something that just suggested that more was going on, that Mars had some sort of ulterior motive. And of course, at that point all Salmon would be was living PR, which the other two seemed to understand quite well. “They’ve got a point. I don’t know much about Archetech, or if they're any better, but being wary of Mars isn’t wrong. Still, your choice. “
  13. GM It seemed that not a whole lot of people were willing to mug somebody this early in the morning, as Synth passed through the streets barely seeing any faces, only a few employees arriving early, and as he got ever closer to the train line, more and more cars, all probably on their way to work. According to a digital clock places inside one of the many stores, it was about 8 AM by the time he arrived by the bridge heading up to Greenbank, from where he could easily board a train without anybody figuring it out. He passed by South River State Penitentiary as he walked northwards, quite a few cars doing the same, with some on the oncoming lanes. As one would expect, there weren’t a lot of pedestrians, meaning he could move without much trouble. He walked further up the bridge, as he could see the rail below him. Accounting for a train passing by, the drop was likely around 30 ft, something he could handle without issues. He waited by the bridge’s edge for a while, as cars, bikes and the occasional person passed by, some sending some doubtful looks his way. And then, once he could hear a train approach, he got ready. And one leap later, he was on the roof of a cargo container. His final destination: Alaska. ~ Fin ~
  14. GM Unfortunately, if there was one thing that FC really wasn’t all that great at, it was public transport. Especially rail. Inside his head, Synth could feel some of the European parts that made up his mind sigh loudly, as he recalled what he knew. The only train lines leaving Freedom City were on essentially the other end of the city, he’d have to cross most of it. Which, while not difficult, would probably take a fair amount of time, considering he had no money on him. But in the end there wasn’t much he could do about it. He’d have to pass through most of Southside, where he could still recall most major streets, and into the Fens. Neither of which was known for being particularly safe, but at least the sun was bound to turn up sooner or later, unless somehow it had ceased to exist while he’d been imprisoned. Which, while far-fetched, was a possibility.
  15. The entire situation was confusing. More so than things involving magic. Those usually had something that he could work with. In this case, all he had was some cluster####, and a dragon. And pain. But that one seemed to go with applications of magic on the field. Hakim didn’t have a clue what to do now. He couldn’t recognize the magic, so picking it apart wasn’t an option. And it made countering way too risky, especially with the amount of people around. So really, there was only one option. One Hakim didn’t like at all. He didn’t trust dragons. Probably thanks to pop culture, but he felt like there was something that that just made him incredibly suspicious of whatever a dragon may try. Still, it was his best option, and so, he responded. “Let me know what forces restrain you, and I will weaken them.” At the same time, he opened his spellbook. It was time to get to work properly.
  16. Jann followed Errant’s instructions, swinging the weapon tool in a way that felt off to him. It took a bit of getting the feel for it, he could start to see the effect. Not that he mentioned anything. In general, Jann went silent after what Elias had said. What was he hinting at? What had the school told him? Or did he know through some other way? Perhaps it had nothing to do with him at all, but for that it had been a bit too obvious. Jann’s grip on the brush axe grew tighter. It was a minor change, something that only somebody with a lot of experience would notice. But it was there. And before striking into the brushes the next time, Jann seemed to hesitate ever so slightly, to look around his surroundings a bit. At that point, he responded, his accent heavier than before, his speech slower. “Cannot protect others if they do not make the first step towards protecting themselves. “
  17. If there was one thing that there was no shortage of at the moment, it was work. It seemed that Barrier spent more of her time working than not. Part of her appreciated it, it meant she was always busy, always doing something useful. Part of her hated it. She didn’t have time for her proper rituals, not to mention that by the time she’d recovered from an injury, there already was something new coming up. Still, it was her duty to be where she was needed. Signa was different from where she’d spent time recently. More modern, with more infrastructure. It made life easier for her, even if the local resident’s size meant fitting through doorways was even more of a problem as usual. “It is our duty to offer help where it is needed. So, tell us, what have you and your people managed to discover about the situation so far?”
  18. Abilities Charisma is at 20, so that’d increase the total cost to 44 Combat Since you’re at 10 Toughness, Knockback should be -5/-9 Feats Adds up to 18 so that clears out 1 PP Powers I suggest you indent the powers that are part of the Container (all of them in this case), so it’d look like this: Container 6 (into a bear: 30PP, Drawback: Involuntary Transformation (when exposed to blood or stress), (uncommon, major) [-3], DC 16 Concentration check to maintain) [27PP] Comprehend 2 (speak to and understand animals, Flaws: Limited to ursines [-1]) [2PP] When all powers are part of the same container it’s not as big of a deal, but it’s usually easier to start early than to have to adapt with more complicated sheets.
  19. GM The glass was strong, and shattering proved to be just a bit more difficult than he’d expected. But after a handful of good, heavy hits, it finally gave in, and shattered into the room in lots of small pieces, with Synth’s arm not really taking any damage from it. Surprisingly enough, there was no alarm. Or if there was, it was silent. Either way, there was nothing obviously stating that he’d been discovered. Synth managed to grab hold of a reasonably easy to put on outfit, one he could put on while walking away, and right afterwards left the store through the same hole in the glass he’d entered. There was a single car approaching, further up the road. But it seemed to just be somebody on their way to work. Synth, under some pain, managed to adjust his look and return to a nice position where he wouldn’t be immediately seen but could act natural in, all the while having a good overview of the street and the buildings along it.

    Dry Run (IC)

Jann nodded as Quotsa continued, and when Spitfire also entered the conversation. So far, all he’d heard was similar to what Flare had said. Between what he’d learned first-hand, Flare and now Quotsa, it seemed that things were as people had said. At least for Chopper and his followers. Jann still knew uncomfortably little about Latin Ink, and there was not much more to be learned about Happy, he presumed. Him mentioning that there had already been attempts by the town was important, however. With a straight on attack on Happy still a bad idea, it offered an important alley. “Of those who tried, are any in the area? Gaining support may prove useful during the next step, they may know things or have skills that will prove vital. “
  21. GM The store looked well-stocked, if a bit small. It wasn’t a franchise, so this probably was a local store targeted towards people living in the area. All the lights, apart from the ones in the main window, were off, so taking a look inside wasn’t easy. But a sign behind the window told of “reduced price clothing”, so it was probably fair to assume more clothing was inside. As for an entrance, that one probably was more difficult. A house of this size likely didn’t have any air vents, and it looked just a bit too young to still have a chimney that could’ve been used. A quick scan confirmed those suspicions. There seemingly was only one way in, and that way, as so often it seemed, included breaking glass, and not entirely unlikely, alarms.
  22. PC Bonfire was waiting by one of the side-streets that ran into the airport. He was standing by a light, the checkpoint for vehicles entering the airport some distance away. By the time Leviathan had made his way there, Bonfire was already on his phone. “Yeah. Huh. Okay, I’ll call there, thanks for your assistance.” He hung up, and turned to face Leviathan. “They entered through that access points, so unless they chartered a private plane they’re stuck in there. There’s only two other ways out. Another one of these checkpoints, on the other side, the other’s through the staff entrance in the main building. And I’ve been there, getting through there … I doubt they’ll manage that. “ He paced around a bit, as he entered something into his phone. “The company still owes me a favour, so I’m gonna try to call that one in and get us in without alarms going off everywhere. “ With that said, he raised the phone to his ear. “Hey, Bonfire here. Listen, I know it’s really late and a bad time to call, but I need to call in a favour…” … “Okay, got it. Thank you. “ He turned to Leviathan again. “Okay, we’re good to go. They’re allowing it, but if there’s any damage whatsoever I’ll have to cover it. And I already have one lawsuit going on, so … I guess let’s try to be careful about this one. “
  23. GM The X-Ray scanner was just strong enough to penetrate the bulkheads. Starshot could see inside the other room, a small storage bay of some sorts. There were boxes, containing what probably was glass. One of them was floating around the room, with nothing indicating that it was touching it. Yet, it moved. Then, Bliss moved in. There was no response, but as she looked into the room, she could see what appeared to be red clouds, one of them currently enveloping a box much like the other ones in the room. Immediately, the clouds shot forward, towards her, at a speed that suggested something was controlling them.
  24. Jann nodded. “Think I prefer speaking.” Jann did not quite trust the thinking. He didn’t trust himself, and he didn’t entirely trust Errant either. Speaking gave Jann the chance to consider his words more properly, to reveal only what he wanted to. He followed, not doing much beyond keeping pace, and keeping an eye on his environment. There were birds in the trees, and their presence could tell a lot about a situation. Even if Jann was not capable of what his mother could do. Then, when the question came, Jann did not wait long with answering. “There are some. A former teacher, who speaks of the academy having made me grow weak, who has stated he will make sure I do not forget about what he has taught. Who may have contacted others. One, who supposedly attends an academy much like this one, one I had heard of in whispers before. Some others who may be inclined to, for reasons I am restricted from explaining. “ All the while, Jann followed, and once they’d arrived at the destination, began to tear into the brushes obstructing parts of the path with some calculated swings.
