  2. GM While Luke started to circle around the warehouse to search for other entrances, Leon reached out with his powers to sense the presence of paper within, both of which turned out to be fruitful endeavors. Luke found both a back door, although it was chained shut, and a hole seemed to have been punched through the roof on the left side of the building, likely the result of some cape fight, but now offering an open entrance to those maneuverable enough to reach it. For Leon's part the search initially turned up nothing which was already suspicious- why would an abandoned warehouse be clean? But quickly he found something more. In the center of the warehouse he could feel small traces of paper that gathered as lint in pockets, spaced around a person. A tall man, seated. Next to him was something even more interesting, a box about the size of a lunchbox filled with a type of paper Leon knew quite well: Rolls of cash.
  3. Blue Bolt Vueriz looked between the Deep Ones as they spoke in their own language and Michael volunteered to go 'say hello'. Aquaria's assurance that they wouldn't let the Atlanteans hurt the tribe told her more than enough about how things were between the Atlanteans and Deep Ones. This was about to turn into a fight and she didn't have her gear. Thinking quickly she slipped between a couple of the tribe members. As much as the Deep Ones scared her she couldn't stand by and let them or her friends get hurt. The biggest threat that came to mind was any weapons that might be on the ship. Her friends were tough, and she'd bet on them in a close up fight, but if the rig was blown up around them... Well, Parker would probably be fine. She put her worries aside as she pushed a box to stand on and climbed atop it to strip out the wiring and bulbs from an old light fixture, hurriedly wrapping the wires around the sleeve of her left arm with her tail as she pried components from other broken machines, rapidly assembling a cludged monstrosity upon her arm. She tried to hide her worry as she worked and talked. "That sounds great Michael! I think I'll stay, I uh, wanted to show the Deep Ones a cool gadget, it won't be quite the same as back in Zirtimzar, but you know, I think it'll be cool enough regardless."
  4. Blue Bolt Vueriz figured she shouldn't look the present animal in the mouth that the pair bought her hasty excuse, instead listening as Michael and Mizuki talked through some of the stuff they had going on. She still thought they should go after Sam, but she was Michael's friend and if he thought giving her space was best then she would defer to his judgement. She instead nodded at the offer to go down to the pier. "Sounds fun, I'll just call my board..." She activated the holographic controls in her gloves and commanded her board to spin in place for three seconds before coming around the corner so that it would look like it was further away. She wasted no time jumping onto it when it did arrive though. "Wanna race, Michael?"
  5. Blue Bolt Vueriz was pretty sure she missing context, specifically about what a 'Nahtsee' was, but she could put together that they were bad guys, and that the guys dressed up as 'the Supersoldiers and Superior' were too. She made sure to commit their symbol to memory: A black circle with two lines poking out. (She could only guess at it's meaning, but that wasn't important right now.) "So we blast them, right?" She looked to the others, waiting for the affirmative.
  6. Notice (tactile): 26 and here we see the wild pdp rp’er using up all of their decent rolls. let’s watch what happens next.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Galvanic Written In The Stars - 1 post Geckoman Vignette, throw the PP onto Galvanic
  9. Fire! Like all Deep Ones, Aquaria had a deep suspicion of the hot glowing stuff, and knew how closely you had to watch it even to cook or dry meat. And now this, a whole building alight? There was a time she once would have fled - or perhaps run headlong into what might have been a trap. But no longer. Even with most of her friends far away on the other side of the world, she was never alone. Not as long as she could hear the song. Raising her trident, she struck it against her armored torso and produced a jet of black abyssal water, cold and salty, so powerfully holy that even she couldn't stand the strong touch of the stuff for long. Drawing on her years of disaster help with Project Freedom, she aimed the water where it could do the most good, seeking to smother the blaze in the purest touch of Hydra's ocean before she ventured inside. That it would make things easier when the others arrived; that was good too.
  10. Cerebellum: 2 Cerebral: 13
  11. (Golden Star Post) "A flail...Huh." he rolled it forward. "You could like...wrap it around people's legs or something too, right? Trip them up." he pondered. "I mean this thing is all energy, right? So maybe I could manipulate it." he looked at it again and then laughed. "Ah! Whatever! I'm trying to not think about that stuff." He said bashfully, shaking his head as if to move on to the conversation and focus on something else. "School's almost over for the year, do you have any plans over the summer? Maybe if my family heads out on vacation somewhere you can come with us? Maybe somewhere out in the Midwest or something, they're still deciding. Or maybe Canada." He offered to her casually. "If you think your guardians would be okay with it, at least."
  12. 31 in response... so you dont need to burn that HP at least (you can burn HP as a reaction so only worth it if your grapple hits) Can you post attempt IC and we can go from there. Also notice (tactile) DC 10 to spot
  13. *facepalm* I don’t know why I forget about the melee attack for grappling. Melee: 21
  14. No probs - could you roll me an attack roll? The "private" is flat footed at the moment, defence 15
  15. Grapple on the solider: 32 Use a HP to gain Improved Grapple so she can handle him with one hand if needed. Plan is to yoink him to the door and yeet him out, herself too if she has to.
  16. (GM Post) As Predator carried Echohead across the rooftops, the wannabe secret agent could...feel. He could feel, below him, the beings moving around now that he was close enough, and Predator carrying him gave him the time to focus. Each of the Dennis Deacons, even in their brains, was the same. More than 'the same', they were identical. These weren't surface level changes to the individual person. Even the connections in a person's brain were overwritten. Memories, IQ, Feelings, Emotions. All of them were all the exact same. But it wasn't just one mind; there was a second, somewhere, laying over each of the brains; a passenger, on each of the Dennis Deacon's brains. There was something at the root of this, infecting the inside of the brains. And then the pair were at the hospital, and one of the windows opened. In the darkness, lit only by the slowly flashing sign, someone waved them in. "Hurry, get in here before they see you. We're trying to hide in here." The voice was panicked, concerned, scared. It opened the window and stepped back to let the two in. "I don't know who you are, but I'm hoping you can help." In their hands or attached to their suits, the scanners they built beeped. They needed to get into the Hospital. To find the original Dennis Deacon and begin calibrations.
  17. (GM Post) "Thank you, Lawrence." The huntress said. She continued to stay quiet, observing what was going on with Neko and the hunter carefully. The Hunter himself did absolutely nothing to help the wounded woman, in fact he went to push her out of the way before realizing she was fake! "Get out of the way, you crazed bird! I'm hunting!" then the cats came after him and he yelled in surprise. "Blimey! There weren't supposed to be any moggy in this forest!" he yelped as he fled, attempting to hide behind a tree, but not being exactly sure where his prey is. "Drones! Take them out! I don't want to be mucking about with this, I'm still tracking that big palooka!" At his order, the drones chirped like birds and moved directly towards the Claremonters and their guide; they were clearly fully autonomous, at least in some way, shooting bright red lasers into the foliage; precise beams struck Kazra in the hip again, leaving a nasty burn that smelled quite...unnerving. The drones continued to float around, trying to keep the group pinned in their hiding place for when the hunter finally managed to get his focus back in.
  18. Alright. With Timeout's healing power and Kazra's Constitution, she gets rid of the Stagger since the total is about 10, and the Bruises and Injuries heal automatically. Esquire is totally concealed, so he's going to attempt to hide himself. Stealth Results 1d20+10: 11 [1d20=1] That's an awful roll so that doesn't work at all! But it's the Drone's turn next! So since there's 6 of them, they're going to take 1 shot at each person- starting with Kazra, then Timeout, then Iris, then Daniel, and 2 at Neko! I'm rolling them all at once but I'll highlight which is which here; Attack Roll Results 6#1d20+6: 6 # 26 [1d20=20] 12 [1d20=6] 17 [1d20=11] 26 [1d20=20] 13 [1d20=7] 17 [1d20=11] So the listings are: Kazra is Crit at 26 Timeout is missed so I'm not even rolling his concealment Iris versus 17 Daniel is crit at 26 Neko has 13 and 17. These are against Defense. The damage is DC 20, so DC25 with the two Crits. Toughness Results 1d20+8: 17 [1d20=9] Kazra is Bruised and Dazed again. @Dracostern that will make it Iris and Daniel's turn :), then Neko's Round 1 Neko: 28, 1HP Kazra: 26, Dazed, 1x Bruised Timeout: 21, 4HP Esquire: 21, Everyone has Total Concealment from him. Drones: 13, 6 of them - Iris: 4 2HP Daniel: 4
  19. Nick kept his ears open in response to Artificer's question. When you were attuned to the flow of death, you got very used to picking up on the Doppler shift of sirens, in order to figure out whether they were getting closer or further. These ones were getting further. "They're not coming here," he said. "Whatever's going down, it seems to be reaching a fever pitch already. Let's go." Nick was eager to bolt for his car, if only to arrive in style, but this was not the time for style. If he needed to catch a flight on Air Atlantis, he would. Sea Devil, already in flight, could see the source of distress clearly. A small building, flames licking the roof. The sound of shrill police sirens was soon joined by the loud honking of fire trucks. She landed outside, taking a closer look at the house. It was a one-story house in colors of midnight blue and seafoam green, with a sign in large gilded letters that had yet to be consumed by flames: HOUSE OF DOORS AND MIRRORS. Windows were apparently not a part of the equation, as each one was covered in black with thin scrapes. A garage abutted the house, its doors sealed shut. And echoing through the house at some ferocity that it was hard to place the source, all Sea Devil could feel was a long, low keening...

  23. It felt like it had been a long time since the two of them had gotten to have a date together or outing, at the least without some form of interruption one way or another. So, to be able to go out with Michael without any sort of interruption spoiling it was a relaxing affair, even if it was to a public venue. A dinner date after school a sandwich place by the library, a simple and easy sort of date that cost nothing other than the price of decent priced hero themed sandwiches, and not a single alien invasion or time anomaly in sight as well. Carmen had ordered something that was called the Johnny Rocket, a sort of tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato, alongside some sort of pepper relish that was rather to her own liking. The were-cat girl would even manage on this date between the two would not pick off the vegetables that were on it, a habit that she was told by the school counselor and her pediatrician to try and change. A slow and simple thing that she was working to fix over time, told that it would keep herself fit and active in her rather athletic lifestyle. A simple and easy meal in peace that she would have with her boyfriend, all comfortably out of the way of most prying eyes as to give them a bit of privacy under the shadow of the stone sphinx. Idly biting into it as they stood together, Carmen would watch him play with the yo-yo, "Only a little. I can't do any tricks, but I can make it work for a while. Think one kid would always get in trouble back home using it like a flail."

  25. Toughness save: 22 That’s a bruise for it Ref save: 17 Ans it’s Dazzled Man, the dice are really favoring the heroes. Wildchild - bruise x2, dazed monstrosity - bruised, dazzled Diamondlight - unharmed, 1HP Sea Devil - unharmed, 4HP Nightscale - unharmed, 4HP @Avenger Assembled Sea Devil is up.
  26. GM Nightscale and Wildchild struggled on the ground with grunts and growls from both. The genetically modified vampire snapping her teeth in an angry hiss before the dragon in man form lands a solid blow, dazing her visibly, nearly going limp in his grip. The two were suddenly drowned out but the sound of gunfire from Detective Ramsey’s police issued pistol. The creature that was the woman snarled at the attack but showed no sign of caring about the little metal bits being flung at it. Where the woman once stood, now a monster from a Carpenter or Cronenburg film stood in the tattered remains of its dress that did little in covering anything that had once been human anatomy. “I will tear your hearts from your chests and feast on them.” The creature's voice was rough and scratchy, like iron nails on stone as she snarled at the detectives. “But first…” It swung its angular face in Sea Devil’s direction and what could only be a sneer twisted its face. With a speed that betrays its new mass, one hand of dagger-like claws lash out at the deep one. But her swing is wide and deadly looking claws whistle through the air short of Sea Devil’s armored face plate as the hero easily dodges. Diamondlight seizes the opportunity to strike. And in a flash, literally, he attacks and then the hero is back where he was. Almost as if he never moved. The only evidence of his attack is a clean slice that reeks of burnt flesh, blood and ickor. That, and the cry of rage from the monster as it swipes at the lights still dancing in front of its eyes in futility.
  27. Freedom City has been rebooted! It's time to retell your character's origins with the hindsight of 5, 10 or even more time spent with the character. What changes? What stays the same? Or Imagine what it would be like if the character had been created in the Gold, Silver, Bronze or even... Iron Age. How would things change if they were written during those times. You can either ignore or embrace those aspects of the characters that would be considered problematic then, but just remember to keep things within the site rules. Your reboot stories should be posted no later than the 30th June 2024. (As a reminder, vignettes follow the same general rules as posts in terms of content, player character limits, and so on. You may have only one vignette per player character. Each vignette should be at least one page (~500 words) in length; if posted in your thread counts at the end of the month, it is worth 1pp for the associated character. An especially long vignette, 1000 words or more, may be worth up to 2pp. Multiple players can collaborate on a single vignette - we recommend Google Docs for this, it's very useful - but the vignette should be about one page per participating player.)
  28. Interesting. Alright, let's keep that in the back pocket for now, maybe find a auitably dramatic time for you to have to learn some skills from something that may not have the right body shape. Wiith an 18 and Leaping 3 + wall crawling I figure Predator can get over the rooftops good enough. I'll do a GM post in a little bit if you want to post in response to Predator carrying you IC
