  1. "Yeah, making the switch was tough. My parents tried to do the tri-lingual home thing back in Guaynabo, given how much of the world has been half brute-forced into using English because of the Internet, I get it now, but we fell back on Spanish a lot. Or Korean, depending on if dad and I felt like trying to pester mom," she commented with a chuckle. After being gently 'nudged' that she had forgotten to actually introduce herself she hastily added, "Shoot, sorry, I'm Selena Kwon. I'll be Danica's roommate up in three-oh-two." Rather than offering a hand to shake, she instead raised her right in a hand sign familiar to any fan of science-fiction television, "Live long and prosper." With a slight grin, adding, "And before anyone asks, no, I'm not trying to add Klingon to my listed of languages." Resuming her cross-legged position in mid-air she asked, "So, aside from learning how to break people in half with their bare hands, any of you guys have any hobbies?"
  2. Gauss will use her magnetic blast, throwing a chunk of the torn open wall at Terrorbird. 1d20+7=19
  3. Giving a quick wave to Micah, trying to welcome the boy into the gathering. "I've been here a few years, so I'm good on the tour. Though, I wish the administration had listened to my suggestion to paint some signs on the roofs of some of the buildings to help us find things more easily from the air. Nobody ever gives directions in three dimensions," the magnetokineitc complained. To Danica she added, "When you get back to the rooms, want to grab a pizza?" At Janus' comment about homesickness Selena had to suppress a chuckle, "When I first got here, homesickness set in within days. It didn't help that almost nobody here spoke Spanish or Korean when I got here and my English was... pretty bad. Almost a good thing home is fifteen-hundred miles away, kept me from trying to sneak home on weekends."
  4. Selena finished moving the boxes containing her previous dorm room's contents, setting the last box down with a sigh of relief. Rather than getting started on unpacking immediately however she decided to take a little break and, using the term loosely, go for a walk. Opening the window, rather than taking the stairs down, she slid out and took to the air. Enjoying the breeze she circled the building until she noticed a crowd hanging out in the parking lot. Descending towards the ground, she pulled short a good three feet from the asphalt, shifting to a sitting position mid-air. Giving a wave she said, "Annyeong yeoleobun. Welcome to Claremont. Say, don't suppose one of you guys is Danica Holmes?"
  5. Gauss shook her head, the buzzing in the back of her head leftover from Redshift's attack slowly clearing. As her left eye began to glow with a deep purple light, she raised hands glowing the same shade. All around them, hundreds of pounds of scrap metal and even a few street lights began to swirl around her for a brief moment before swinging over to the caravan of vehicles to form a long bar along one side. "Creo que necesitamos un bache de velocidad para usted..."* she muttered. *I think we need a speed bump for you
  6. Name: Selena Kwon Codename: Gauss Year: Senior Pronouns: Feminine Roommate: Unassigned, I'm open to either a PC or NPC. Goal: Learn how to ice skate, double her magnetic lifting capacity, and finish the school year with all her limbs intact. Favourite High School Movie: Surf Ninjas, in a "so bad it's good" capacity.
  7. Gauss will spend the HP to shake off the daze. Next actions are to set as much of a barrier around the convoy as possible with scrap metal and, if possible, ripping out things like manhole and drain covers to add to the pile. Following that, I think throwing a blown off car door at Redshift with her mind should be done...
  8. Can Gauss magnetokinesis some wrecked car bits over to make a physical barrier to Redshift's movement?
  9. A case of better late than never Miss Tiff but 1d20+7=26 for init.
  10. She was about to bring her fellow heroine up to speed on what she had been following for the past several minutes when White Lioness gave her the basic information on why she was also out here. "Cool, can we compare notes in a few minutes? I've been following a path of beaten guards and busted equipment after finding a shipping container something non-human broke through. If it isn't stopped, it might get into the city. Did you ever see that old Jeff Goldblum movie The Lost World? Think that but slightly smaller." At the sound of ripping sheet metal and terrified shouts the magnekinetic bit back a curse, "Never mind, let's go save some smugglers."
  11. Following the trail of destruction and the occasional injured dock worker, Gauss flew faster with each act of violence she passed. She still couldn't get a good look at her quarry, given roughly half the lights on the decks were off or just straight up broken. She was making a mental note to add a flashlight or the like into her belt, her frustration growing quickly. Her trail however quickly lead her to one warehouse that was actually well lit and a girl in a white costume and gold accents, "Oh crap..."
  12. With her late night snack finished she stuffed the empty bottle and wrapper back into the pocket she'd pulled them from. After a quick stretch she lifted off again, heading back over the boats at a leisurely pace. As she rose into the air and noticed the torn open container she came to a dead stop, the only movement coming from the wind stirring her cloak. "Well, that can't be good," she muttered to herself before descending once more, hopping to find someone on the deck while making her way towards the twisted scrap.
  13. Gauss Like a Wagon Train Out of Hell 1 post ...I'm going to feel shame as a minor action.
  14. 1d20+10=21 for a Notice check, either to spot White Lioness or any sign of the thing that burst from the container.
  15. Gauss floated along the river, enjoying the cool breeze off the ocean blowing her hair back and making her cape billow. Glad to pop out of her dorm room for a bit of fresh air she spent most of the last hour or three just flying and enjoying the summer evening. So far tonight she had foiled two muggings and helped stop a street race, leaving her feeling pretty satisfied that she was at least making her evening productive. As she moved past the ships, over the docks , and above the warehouses she slowed down to land on a flat rooftop. Leaning against an air conditioning unit she pulled a bottle of water and a protein bar from one of the pockets on her thigh. "I really need to pack better snacks," she sighed.
  16. Miss Tiff, should time become available, maybe something with Gauss and White Lioness could happen?
  17. As the spray of grit and assault of asphalt settled, a chunk of the lead car's now ruined bumper started to wiggle slightly before flying off the ground and towards the Omegadrone, missing as it sidestepped, or as close to a sidestep as one can do while flying. Charging downward from the sky a young woman in a white, cowl-necked cape blew past her improvised projectile, two baseball sized chunks of metal erupting from under the cloak, one cracking her previous target directly in the faceplate while the other struck the remaining enemy in the shoulder. "One chance, drop your weapons and fly back home. Ignore this warning and I will leave you as a pile of broken and twisted scrap on the ground," she snarled, her cape whipping in the breeze, showing the tears and blood stains from previous encounters with Terminus forces that day.
  18. Indeed it would Ari, she's still a Claremont Kid .
  19. Claremont is pretty much always accepting new characters, because who doesn't want to relive high school but this time, with super powers?
  20. As per @EternalPhoenix and @Avenger Assembled over in Discord, Gauss is reporting to fill in for a, shall we say, "unavailable" Vorik. Init of 1d20+7=10 Attack rolls 3#1d20+7, 8, 27, 12, against Omegadrone 3.
  21. As per the title, I'm itching to do some threads with Gauss but, well, I'm crap at running things. I'm looking for some rather straight forward things to do with Claremont's resident Polaris knockoff. Anyone able to help?
