  1. "There's also at least one person on that monorail who has injuries from your little altercation in the middle of a crowd, lots of public property damage, and an apparent kidnapping. At the very least, cops are getting an interview with you." Watching the pair of robots descend towards the trio hanging in mid-air Gauss had to make the choice to fend them off or let Triborg go and possibly run again. Seeing the blasters already charging she set the pair gently down on the track. "Don't make me chase you," she said before the light from her eye flared again and a ball-bearing was mentally flung at the nearest oncoming opponent, slamming it squarely in the midsection.
  2. 1d20+7=11, yeah I have enough HP I'm going to burn one here... 1d20+7=22
  3. Selena looked over at Lulu as she knelt down next to the boy's head. "It should be safe-ish. He looks like he's in the next closest thing to a coma, not sure if it's something we did fending him off while he was all 'demony' or the result of kicking the thing out of him. Either way, be careful in there," she said. Heading back over to Salvo she watched her teammate, and her team's resident tank, pour over the pages of the tome. She could almost see the frown on Salvo's faceplate by the time she had closed the book, "So, on a scale of one to ten, how much of a nightmare is it going to be to unfrak their screw up?"
  4. 1d20+7=22 for inititative, 1d20+2=20 for the knowledge.
  5. Gauss did not so much as flinch as the energy blast shot over her head and off into the distance. "Do that again and I'll break it off," she said calmly. Taking a deep breath she mentally focused on the world around her, sensing the various magnetically reactive metals around her and finding none from the supposed Foundry minion. "Tell you what, we're going to have a quick chat with the cops and you can tell us who is being held and where. I'll go look into it from there, deal," the teen said, her tone making it clear this was not up for debate.
  6. Can Gauss' super-senses pick up any ferrous metals inside the captive to corroborate the story?
  7. Gauss' eye flared with light as she focused her power on the trio of arms as the "Triborg" attempted to zoom away and he did get a few extra yards before his magnetic field was suddenly disrupted by her pulling on his prosthetic arm. Thankfully, before the strongman and his captive could fall to the ground she held tight to his arm and lifted them away from the monorail line. "Now, what seems to be the problem here gentlemen?" she asked, her tone leaving no ambiguity in how much her mood had soured from the first time she had spoken to them on the monorail a few short moments before.
  8. 1d20+7=26, I'm going to go with "catch" since we don't want them turning into street pizza...
  9. As noted in Chat, going to try and slow/stop him with her magnetic control/move object fun. Opposed roll of his Flight vs her MO?
  10. Gauss spotted the pair easily enough and zoomed after them, taking shortcuts every time a turn in the track's loop came around. "You know, it's the holiday season," she yelled over the wind whipping by them once she had caught up, "I'd take it as a personal kindness if we could resolve this without me having to turn those shiny robo-arms into tinsel for my tree." Her left eye glowed with violet light as her ball bearings resumed their orbit around her body, moving much faster this time than they did in the monorail's car.
  11. "Yeah, I'll be fine. The Deadite wannabe just called up memories of the day my powers woke up and then started messing with them to show me and my friends actually getting hit by the van instead of me sending it flying," Selena said, her breathing and heartbeat slowly getting back to normal. After handing the book to her armor clad friend she moved over to Lulu to check on her. "Hey. Lulu. That was awesome," she said pulling the young psychic to her feet and back over to the table where their drinks from earlier sat, miraculously unharmed. "Drink up, catch your breath, we've got at least two more poor dumb pendejos to save from their idiocy and lower heads." Floating over to Sam's unconscious form she kneeled down next to Pan. "I've at least started some first aid classes," she said, checking the would-be summoner's pulse and breathing.
  12. Selena's going to use beginner's luck to fake some ranks in Medicine to check on Sam, 1d20+7=11
  13. As the Sam-Thing's growls and chants filled the air, Selena's vision swam for a second. For the briefest of moments she was back on the beach in Puerto Rico where her near accident with an out of control vehicle had caused her powers to awaken for the first time. The roar of a van's engine and the screech of failing brakes pounded in her ears, the site of watching herself and her friends walking back by the boardwalk but this time being struck by the cargo van left her uneasy. Her nerve was shaken further when as it vehicle passed her, instead of being driven by the terrified man who had been stuck behind the wheel, Sam sat in the driver's seat, his eyes wide and filled with the fires of hell. At that Gauss was suddenly back in the rec room at Claremont with her friends, a tomb of forbidden knowledge in her hands and her breath coming in sharp, ragged gasps. "Okay, that was not cool," she muttered before hurling a chair at the possessed teen.
  14. Sorry for the hold up. Will save 1d20+5=19 Attack 1d20+5=13
  15. Gauss was torn, chase after the big guy or make sure the other civilians were unharmed. But with an unconscious woman nearby she could not justify chasing him down without at least checking on her condition first. Trying to remember everything about First-Aid she had been taught at Claremont she checked for a pulse and steady breathing. Looking up at the passengers she asked, "Can anyone call emergency services? She's hurt but it isn't life threatening and I have a kidnapping to deal with." Getting to her feet she stepped carefully back to the door and zipped out, heading in the direction she had last seen the metal-armed man.
  16. Going to spend an HP to give Gauss 5 ranks in Medicine as per Beginner's Luck and check on the woman on the floor. 1d20+7=12
  17. Gauss stepped forward, the first ball bearing beginning to lazily orbit her as she fished a second and then a third from her belt even as her heart sank a bit. 'You know, I really should have seen this coming,' she thought to herself, her face betraying nothing. Glass crunched under the purple sole of her grey boots, her white cape being blown about by the wind blowing through the destroyed windows, "Sir, I'm going to have to ask that you unhand that man. It's the holiday season, I'd hate to ruin it for anyone any further than it already has been today."
  18. Depending on how characters are assembled, Hazmat could go.
  19. In this reality, Selena Kwon was recruited into her current role at The Academy after the gang she was part of in San Juan made the mistake of hitting one of the Syndicate's minor holdings. After being shipped off to Empire City she became a quick study in her classes and attracted underlings and allies.
  20. With an effort of will, the car's doors slid open and the heroine floated inside, white cape billowing out behind her. As her boots hit the floor she pulled one of her preferred projectiles from a pouch. She took a second to survey the situation, seeking whatever had caused the commotion.
  21. Floating backwards away from the possessed would-be summoner, Gauss held the grimoire in one hand and fished a washer from her pocket. "You know, your sales pitch leaves a lot to be desired. When you get back to your realm, consider consulting with a marketing firm," she taunted. Her left eye and right hand glowed with a violet light as the piece of hardware zipped through the air, narrowly missing Sam and embedding itself in the drywall.
  22. Allowing the crowd to exit, Selena stood by the man she had helped, and born the reprimand from the headmistress of Claremont for. "De nada," she said after a heavy pause. "Take care of yourself man and try and avoid anymore trouble. Something, something concerned citizen," she finished with a weak smile before heading off the platform. Getting lost in the crowd it did not take long for the teen to find a spot she could duck away and zip into the air as the monorail pulled away. After a few moments to tuck her shopping bags and backpack, now holding her street clothes instead of her costume, into a rooftop corner she zipped off to catch back up to the car she had occupied previously.
  23. I'll send Gauss or Hazmat into this, sounds like a fun excursion.
