  1. I'd rather wait for you to do those two rolls yourself. Don't wanna take anything out of your hands Ah, thanks for that. I'll make sure to make a comment in my next post re: something he remembers from tv that applies here In fact, go ahead and make his untrained Investigation and Medicine checks (eidetic memory bonus does not apply here, since these are more applied knowledge than true memory recollection things).
  2. All the things under Immunity 9 (life support) are also covered by Immunity 30 (Fort effects); you don't need the former if you have the latter. So the Insubstantial, Elongation, and Shapeshift are all APs or her Snare? Shapeshift, like all other VPs, are not at this time allowed. There seems to be something off on her Sidekick: she seems to have 21ep worth of equipment (which should be listed in her feats as Equipment 4, not Equipment 20).
  3. Well, that's what a Notice check is -- a check to see if you realize something is there or not. The various Detect [whatever] powers just allow you the possibility to detect the presence of something that your senses cannot normally pick up. Closest you're gonna get is "Super-Senses 1 (Detect Minds)," since "Super-Senses 1 (Detect Evil)" is what I've seen on the few D&D Paladin conversions.
  4. Tarnation -- wife just e-mailed me, one of her aunts has passed away. Funeral'll be sometime this weekend. They say troubles come in threes. I hate to think what may come next.
  5. My wedding had less than a dozen people. My parents & bro and sis & one aunt, the wife-to-be's parents, and two of my co-workers. Cheap-o courthouse wedding, though the reception afterwards was at a fairly nice restaurant. We've still not taken a real honeymoon (went to a nice hotel for that weekend), or done all the name-change stuff (we're taking each other's last names; her maiden name will become a second middle name and she'll take my last name as her last name, and I'll take her maiden name as my second middle name).
  6. Archeville is obviously taken aback by Gossamer, both by her appearance and familiarity with his work. "Vell, I'm very pleased you zhought so! Tell me, vhat did you zhink of my follow-up article, zhe von on using alicyclic heterocycles in optical recording und read/write media?" It was soon very clear who the doktor was focused on.
  7. Aside from my semi-obsessive preference for having things listed alphabetically (i.e., his powers), he looks just fine. APPROVED.
  8. Nightrival makes a beautifully executed entrance, landing in a perfectly-executed drop stance. All eyes are on him. The Asian woman lets out a shriek, while the Hispanic woman seems shocked into non-action. "Willie," she pleadingly screams, "you said we'd be safe here!" "Don't you worry none, girls," the pusher says in his silky smooth voice, tunring back to face the two women, "my man Heavy'll take care of this costumed clown." Willie snaps his fingers, and the man-mountain stalks forward, and moves in to grapple Nightrival. Astonishingly, he actually gets his massive arms around Nightrival, and he begins to squeeze. Meanwhile, in the living room, Reflexion moves amongst the mostly-still bodies, and moves to examine the one curled around the busted television set. With no medical training or real experience with investigation, he can't really tell what's wrong with these people, though can easily guess that it is something drug related. Unfortunately, when he brushes up against/touches the one curled around the television, he immediately realizes something is very wrong, because the druggie turns to face him, his features twisted into a feral expression. He lets out a sound, a weird combination of moan and hiss, and swipes at Reflexion, though misses by a fair margin. Reflexion can hear the other druggies start moving about and moaning/hissing, too. Meanwhile meanwhile, at the back, Grimalkin begins slowly and disgustingly squeezing herself through the crack along the edges of the window, though she had to move off to one side to avoid crashing into a small table that was pushed up against the wall under the window. As she moved in, she saw "Twitchy Pete" begin looking this way and that, and though he seemed to be looking right at her in some instances, he made no indication that he had actually seen her. Once inside, Grim notices that the place reeks, of strong chemical odors from the bubbling equipment on the far side of the room near the sink, and from the rot of numerous old mostly-empty food containers piled onto and under the table at the window. She tries not to think about what might be on the floor. Manbat hurls his projectile to the skylight and swoops down and in... to find himself in a stairwell, which prevents him from fully unfurling his wings. He can hear some movement and talking upstairs, and a lot of movement and some weird sounds -- a blend of moans and hisses -- coming from downstairs.
  9. While y'all wait, if one of you can remind Master_Pelle to roll initiative for Reflexion, that'd be helpful Edit: Nevermind, I see he already has!
  10. Thanks Fortunately, facial wounds almost always look worse than they truly are, since they tend to bleed so heavily.
  11. [[ Notice or Search check -- Search if actively searching for the source, Notice to see if the char just happens to/passively spot it. ]]
  12. *wakes from his slumber long enough to stamp APPROVED on the char's forehead*
  13. ... yes, it would. (Sleepiness acts as a Drain on Knowledge [math].)
  14. Not really an "I'm away" thing, but an explanation for my lack of in-depth posts of late: Early Tues morning, around 12:30am (as we were getting ready for bed), one of our cats decided my wife's ear would look better off of her head than on it. 3 1/2 hour wait in the waiting room before we were even seen, then more waiting as the doc did... something. Got home around 6am, exhausted, slept for about an hours, then we dragged ourselves to work. Her boss sent her home and she got to sleep, I worked on, but crashed almost as soon as I got in. I'm still very groggy, so may crash again when I get home tonight. For those of you involved in games I'm running, I apologize for the delay. As for my wife, the wound was actually not as bad as it looked (head/facial wounds rarely are, since they bleed so much), didn't even get stitches. They did give her some Motrin & Percocet, and told us to keep the wound clean & covered with Neosporin to prevent infection.
  15. I'd say it's fine, though you do need to list the actual ranks of those alternate powers. Something like: Electrical Control 9 (Base Effect: Blast 6 [Extra: Cloud Area]; PFs: 3 Alternate Powers: Dazzle (Visual) 9, Transmit 6 [Extra: Accurate], Datalink 17 [PF: cyberspace]) [21pp]
  16. Or reduce one rank of Penetrating, or one rank of Affects Insubstantial.
  17. Animate Machines is a form of Summon, and so by the "house" rules of the board is not allowed as an AP of another power (like Electrical Control). (See Character Creation Guidelines, section 7, sub-section 5.)
  18. Sorta. You could do Datalink 8 (PF: Cyberspace, Alternate Powers: Transmit 9) for 10pp. Or Transmit 9 (PF: Alternate Power: Datalink 8 [PF: Cyberspace]), also for 10pp. Or Transmit 9 (PF: Alternate Power: Datalink 1 [PF: Cyberspace]), also for 10pp, since the alternate powers in an array don't need to be built on the full amount of available points. With an Array, you pay the full cost for some power; this is the "Base" power. Then you buy the Alternate Power Power Feat (1pp each) to get Alternate Powers for it, each of which can be built on a number of points equal to the cost of the "Base" power (minus the cost of the Alternate Power power feats). So you could have Electrical Control 9 (PFs: 3 Alternate Powers: Blast 6 [Extra: Burst Area], Stun 9, Stun 6 [Extra: Ranged]). Total cost is 21pp -- 18 for the "Base" power (Electrical Control 9), +3 more for each Alternate Power. Each Alternate Power is built on up to 18pp, since that's the cost of the "Base" power. You'd choose what it Boosts at the time you buy/create the Absorption power.
  19. That reminds me of a power I'd once thought up, essentially Create Object (Extras: Duration/Continuous; Flaw: Only to create things which had been inside an empty fully enclosed container; Power Feats: Innate, Precise, Progression #, Subtle). Guy has some container, which must be fully sealable (not necessarily air- or water-tight, but enough that you cannot see what's in it when closed). He concentrates a moment (i.e., uses his power), opens it, and whatever had been in there is now in there again. If he had an empty discarded pizza box, his power would recreate the pizza in it, fresh and warm as the day it was delivered. Pick up an empty gun, use his power, it's reloaded with whatever rounds had last been in it. Touch a car with an empty fuel tank, use his power, the fuel tank's filled with whatever substance has last been in it. Pick up an empty wallet, use his power, it's now filled with whatever had last been in it. (Most of these stunts also required additional powers.)
  20. What do you want the Absorption to do, Heal him or Boost some other power? If it Boosts his Blast, you could just have a rank in Blast (or even no ranks), at the cost of not being able to fire blasts unless he's absorbed some electricity. You could fit Transmit into the Alternate/Energy form; before transmitting he first converts his body into pure energy. You might could have the Datalink & Cyberspace power be an AP of the Transmit. In a given round, he can control computers or travel across/through them.
  21. My one niggling comment/request would be to combine "Benefit (knights of the round table)" and "Wealth x2" into "Benefit 3 (Status [Knight of the Round Table], Wealth 2)".
  22. Round 0 Players Grimalkin -- Full Health -- 1 HP ManBat -- Full Health -- 1 HP Nightrival -- Full Health -- 3 HP Reflexion -- Full Health -- 1 HP Initiative Orders 29 -- Hispanic Woman 28 -- Nightrival 26 -- Asian Woman 22 -- Reflexion 21 -- Slick Willie 21 -- Heavy 20 -- "Twitchy Pete" 19 -- Druggies (6) 17 -- Grimalkin 15 -- Manbat EDIT: I've just figured out what those Labyrinth people are doing there. It's deliciously horrific ;)
