  1. "Really? I was under zhe impression zhat 'retro' was 'in,' und zhat zhings from zhe 80s vere all zhe rage, especially in regards to cartoons und comic books?" "Und zhe vord 'robot' is Czechoslovakian, for 'laborer' or 'servant,' und is less zhan a century old. Zhe idea of artificial beings is far older, of course, dating back to some 4,000 years, to...." Unless stopped, Archeville rambles off a semi-brief history of robotics.
  2. That's 29pp (12+3+10+4), not 26. And you still need to list the ranks for those APs. Please list how many pp the Drawback is worth, and what all those numbers are for.
  3. Are they really "NPC ideas" if the characters have already been published? I mean, shouldn't the thread title be something like "Crooks characters fro use in FC PbP"? That's basically what they are, not all-new NPCs.
  4. Yup. So Create Object 2 (2 5-ft. cubes, roughly 5x5x10 feet) would be enough for a motorcycle, Create Object 6 (6 5-ft. cubes, or roughly 10x15x5) to get an average car, and so on. Since Weapon Summoning is basically Blast with APs for different attack powers, I don't see it being a problem.
  5. Sorta. Per Ultimate Power, with the Precise power feat, you can create objects that are more precise & detailed than things created with a non-Precise Create Objects effect, including objects with moving parts. This does not, however, mean you could make a gun to shoot people with, since that is a distinct & separate effect (specifically, a Ranged Damage -- Blast -- effect). To make working guns with Create Object, you'd need a Linked Blast effect.
  6. Archeville chuckles again and waves his hands dismissively, "No, no, no, NERGAL vas not damaged in some 'mad rampage,' it did not 'go crazy' und try to kill me. It vas damaged vhen it vas hit mit an intense blast of radiation by an enraged supervillain, in zhe opening salvo of zheir attack. None of mein robots haff ever 'gone rogue,' I am sure to conduct thorough tests und install numerous failsafes. Und Kapitan," he added, turning to Captain Wonder, "if you ever vant to see robots zhat do not try und kill you, you are velcome to mein home at any time, I haff plenty of robots zheir to see."
  7. Short Answer: Sorta. Long Answer: Figure out what 'powers' a Vehicle gives (Flight, Running, Swimming; the protection a vehicle offers is already covered by the hardness of the object created), and Link those to Create Object.
  8. Archeville chuckles a bit, "I don't mean for it to be used in fighting! Mein roobt, NERGAL, vas-" Captain Wonder cut Archeville off, "Excuse me: Nergal?" "Ja, NERGAL -- Nützlicher Elektronischer Roboter, mit Gedanken Aus Licht. Or, in English, 'Helpful Electronic Robot, with Thoughts (formed) Out of Light'. NERGAL's 'brain' vas , simply put, made of light. It worked on zhe principles of quantum mechanical phenomena like superpositioning und entanglement und-" The scientist cut himself off, forcing himself to stop before going too far off-tangent. "Zhe important zhing is, NERGAL's brain was irreparably damaged, but I may be able to fit it with some mecha-style controls for Rusty." "As for vhat he can do... vell, as zhe name suggests, NERGAL vas made to be a laboratory assistant, helping me mit some of mein experiments. It vas never meant to be a 'combat robot,' no real veaponry, zhough in a pinch some of he tools mounted vitin his arms can be used offensively. However, in addition to its advanced construction, zhere is another reason I vanted to bring NERGAL in: I designed its body vhile vatching a certain popular 80's cartoon. NERGAL looks like a metallic leonine humanoid, mostly red in color. Zhe kids should get a kick out of it." [[ OOC: If my acronym/translation is horribly off, I blame BabelFish ]]
  9. That's sorta how Jamie "Multiple Man" Madrox's power works.
  10. I've heard one 4E reviewer say some similar. That in 3.5, you had a ton of options when making your character, but not much once he was built, whereas 4E goes the other way, giving you few options to start with but lots of options down the line.
  11. I see you've got the following drawbacks on both Magic powers: All the magic-users from published M&M/FC stuff who have a Drawback on their Magic have it as: "Power Loss (if unable to speak and gesture to cast spells)" or more simply "Power Loss (if unable to cast spells)", either one being a -1pp Drawback, on their Magic. Yours should be worded (and costed) similarly, so you'll need to remove 2pp worth of stuff, or come up with some other 1pp drawback for each Magic power, perhaps "Power Loss: cannot use Magic against anyone who [X]", where X could be "is carrying a silver coin", "is wearing iron/has iron touching their skin", "is wearing their clothes inside out", "has never spoken to him", or other anti-faerie wards. (For the "Runic Sorcery" flight/shield one, it could be "cannot use when bells are ringing".) Also, those Drawbacks should be listed with the other Drawbacks, not with the individual powers/array, to help avoid confusion over costs.
  12. "Just because you look like a plant-demon doesn't mean you must act like von."
  13. I need Sense Motive checks from you two, please.
  14. Catherine easily finds the source, just as Mongrel Angel's ears are able to pick up where exactly it's coming from. Carefully moving aside some fallen branches, Catherine finds a body! Judging by what's left of his uniform, a policeman's body! Acid burns cover almost his entire body, and most of his gear seems partially melted as well. He stares up at you with one lidless eye, the other one melted away, and begins convulsing.
  15. Actually, I do support Greenpeace. Well, not monetarily (though I did donate money to them once), but I support most of what they try to do, agree with most of their ideals.
  16. So... a Tribble crossed with Venom?
  17. And that's why it wouldn't be a Flaw. Probably not even a Drawback, since about the only living things that don't have nervous systems I can think of are plants and blob-monsters.
  18. "Very kind of you, but I don't believe I am in need of anyzhing in particular, I should haff everyzhing I need back at mein laboratory," Archeville replied. "However, I shall contact you tonight after I run an inventory und see for certain." "Actually...." Archeville said, a grin spreading across his face, "I may haff just zhe zhing for you, if you are interested. One of zhe zhings I vas hoping to bring to zhe event was von of mein robots, but zhe von I vould most like to bring is in bad need of repair. Much of zhe control circuitry vas damaged in an... altercation." The German scientist's mind races back to a high school science fair he got talked into being a 'celebrity judge' for some years ago, and the chaos that ensued when some supervillains appeared looking for revenge, and didn't care who got hurt along the way. "Zhough it vould take too long to fully repair it, I might could adapt it to have Mecha-style controls in he head or chest cavity, so zhat you could pilot it from vithin." Archeville was glad he'd stopped smoking long ago, because if he hadn't, his cigarette would be on the floor now. He shook his head to clear his mind, and was tight-lipped for the several moments. "You both make an excellent point, ja." Archeville says, nodding. "A bit of practice vould be best -- ve don't vant to look like uncoordinated amateurs out zhere!" "I've done both solo vork und vorked mit teams back in mein homeland, und did adequately vell under both conditions. Zhere are pros und cons to both, but, overall, I'd say vorking mit a team has been best for me."
  19. Hunh, weird, I had read it and didn't recall any agents actually being named. Anyways, it's Targette who's just mind-whammied Reflexion. He can tell not just by her appearance, but also by the feel of her powers as it slammed into him.
  20. I wish! Nah, just turned out that I needed a new keyboard: the old one had some weird short in it, not only would it not let me type but it was also sending a signal to my computer that made it beep repeatedly (though he beeping seemed to come from the CD/DVD R-W drive, and it wasn't a "beeeeeeeeep" it was a "beep beep beep beep beep").
  21. Eh, it's not like comic writers themselves haven't borrowed/stolen ideas from countless sources That being said, that last character idea sounds somewhat similar to the Cosmic Mind, an FC supervillain.
  22. It seems my home computer is having some fits, so until it's fixed I'll only be able to get online from my work comp. I work M-F 8am-5pm. EDIT: Huzzah! My home comp has been fixed!
  23. One of my roommates in college was an EMT, and one of my cousins is, too. Best of luck!
  24. Nah, Nightriva'ls used maybe 15 feet so far. The bedroom's not that huge.
