  1. Looks alright to me, though there's one teeny tiny thing. But The actual stats show a trade-off of +/- 5, and the limit here is +/- 4.
  2. You still need Affects Others or Portal for that. Even if you're just using it to take other objects, the fact that Teleport is a Personal power means it must have Affects Others (changing it to a Touch range power) in order to get anything else.
  3. Take care of yourself, man. Your health comes first.
  4. I did indeed pick it up. And I do plan to look over the two versions (yours and theirs) and see what if any differences there are. I did already notice one error they made, on Sulemain. The left out the stats for his Lemurian Headband.
  5. Oh, and you probably should submit your NPCs (like the Unifier), since the characters from Crooks are technically from an entirely different campaign setting. This may mean altering some of the background material so they fit into FC better (some suggestions on how to do so can be found here).
  6. Ahhh, I see what you're doing. Okay. To make things absolutely clear, though, you should list the power as Mimic Appearance. Or, do it as Morph (any humanoid; Flaw: Must have subject to mimic), thus getting around the whole VP aspect of it. Only to change shape/texture, not color.... hrrmmm.... I'll have to think on that one.
  7. Nah, but that's fine. I'd be more interested in having Quickness (only for repair Craft checks). And since you can Take 20 on repair checks -- it's the only function of Craft you can Take 20 on -- it's something Quickness can apply to (though I'm not sure if "repair Craft checks" is limited enough to count as "One Task," it may need to be something like "repair Craft/electronics checks" and "repair Craft/mechanical checks" and so on in order to be limited enough to count as One Task).
  8. I think a good rule of thumb would be that if a Skill is modifed by a physical ability score (Str or Dex, no Con-modded Skill in M&M), or if the skill requires tools, then it's a "physical" thing. I'd say Notice would be mental, but Search is both. With Notice, the skill determines what you passively sense, but Search assumes an active... well, search of the area, moving things around and so on. I'd say reading would be both, since you need to be able to turn the pages (be they physical or electronic).
  9. I'm pretty sure Morph gets all aspects, appearance and voice. There's no need to split 'em like that. You do, however, need to determine if it's "one other form," "any humanoid form," or "any form of roughly equal mass."
  10. Ouch indeed: you suffer on Bruise from the hit (since you failed the Toughness save, though not by 5+), and you're a-feared of Manbat (failed the Fearsome Presence save, but not by 5+). Specifically, Reflexion is shaken, taking a-2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, and checks. I'll have to figure out how long this effect lasts. EDIT: Seems that Kenson has ruled that Fearsome Presence is treated as a Sustained lasting effect (similar to Emotion Control). You'll get to save again next round, but if that fails you won't get another chance to save for 5 rounds, then 10 rounds/1 minute, then 5 minutes, and so on.
  11. Ummm.... do you mean Morph? Morph lets you imitate a person's appearance & voice, Mimic lets you copy their abilities & powers.
  12. It's definitely one of my faves, up there with Ultimate Power. It can be done with just one Strike, yes. You could do Strike 2 (PFs: Mighty, Split Attack, Variable Descriptor/bludgeoning, piercing or striking) to do all his bodily weapons. Or, you could do something like Strike 2 (claws; PFs: Mighty; AP: Strike 1 [tail; PFs: Extended Reach, Mighty]); with this, the claws do more damage, but the tail has longer reach. You can link it to a Phantasm Illusion effect, yes. And you can make the Emotion Control sense-dependent, but that would mean they'd need to look you in the eye or hear your voice or smell you to be affected by your fear. If you only want it so the target sees terrifying images drawn from their own subconscious, and you have no real control over what they see, then that can be done just with Emotion Control. (And it's typically spelled "Psionic" )
  13. Exactly! Actually, it seems I was mistaken & misinformed, some VPs are allowed. However, that's a very big limit: why not jut go with Enhanced Feats (Improvised Tools) and Strike 2 (PFs: Mighty, Subtle [to make it 'retractable'], Variable Descriptor 1/any bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing)? Also, re: the Snare, "Obscure Sense" was changed to a Power Feat in Ultimate Power. We'll need to ask the Refs here what it is for FC PbP, and look to see if there are any errata to it (since the change may've been a typo). Do be sure to list the actual ranks of Equipment in the feat section. If you also want to list the eps it gives, that's fine, too (so something like "Equipment 5 [25 eps]").
  14. Barnum, though you and I often don't seem to meet eye-to-eye on things -- in fact it at times seems to me like we speak entirely different languages -- I have always respected you for the strength of your convictions and your ceaseless efforts to improve this place, both in a technical sense and in a "spirit of community" sense. I truly hope nothing I've said or done has caused you pain or grief, and sincerely apologize if anything has. As was said, your absence will definitely be felt by everyone.
  15. Nareik, I think you're up. And don't forget to roll initiative, too.
  16. Kavos, do you have access to Instant Superheroes? There's a PL 6 "Living Weapon" in there, it's got decent Str, Dex and Con, Regeneration, Strike, and Super-Senses (low-light vision and tracking scent). Concealment could just be a good Stealth check (the PL 6 Living Weapon has a +13 on Stealth; on average that's a 23, something most Normal won't be able to beat). And if the only part of your appearance you want to change is just that, the appearance, got with Morph.
  17. Coincidentally, Crooks 2E has recently come out in .pdf format.
  18. Especially since the typical Anime being contains three times more blood than its Real World counterpart! My work wallpaper: My home wallpaper:
  19. You should probably try and find some way to work Adrian Eldrich into this: this is the sort of thing he specializes in. Maybe he's "hired" us to enact some crucial part of his plan to send it back.
  20. Though it's not a printed rule, I prefer not to let VPs create powers with APs, since you can just reconfigure the VP to get what you want. Your Blast would be built as Blast 10 (Extra: 15-ft. Burst Area; PF: Progression 7/reduced area); Progression is used to increase or decrease the size of an Area effect.
  21. Per Ultimate Power, it's a Drawback to increase the time it takes to use a Super-Sense. 1 point for a move action 2 points for a standard action 3 points for a full-round action Further time requirements move one step up the Time Table per point, although the GM should decide of such constitutes a desirable drawback (Super-Senses taking a minute or more aren’t particularly useful in most settings). As with all drawbacks, this one must have a point value less than the total cost of the Super-Senses effect.
  22. Actually, this is not entirely true (I was recently corrected on an error I've been working under). Seems straight-from-the-book VPs are technically allowed here, though they may of course be nixed during Character Approval during the approval process.
  23. "I'm sure zhere is a perfektly rational explanation to all zhis...." Seeing as how Things From beyond do tie into Doktor Archeville's backstory, such a tale could be a good fit for him.
