  1. That's an Intimidate roll. With Skill Mastery it's 22.
  2. Salvo She woke with mice crawling over her armor and the incessant clacking of metal claws against metal plates. They almost drowned out Guy's voice but Nicole heard and hot anger rose up from her chest. She had a target, someone to blame for everything besides a rogue infestation of nano-mice. "Shut up." Her hand rose and slammed against her visor, smearing the mice and their silvery blood across her helmet. One glance at Bellios' vitals painted a somber picture. It was damaged badly and so was her own body, and even directing a small amount of power to any of her systems could push them over the brink. It would have been worrying if she were facing a threat that could harm her, but mice were nothing and so was Guy. Her armor was proofed for underwater, space and many dangerous interdimensional realms. "You aren't getting in." One hand slammed against the ground, squishing more mice, and she pushed herself to a sitting position, mice falling and scurrying over her body. At the back of her mind, something screamed and broke, but she did not care now. She was safe and powerful, even in such a damaged state. "You and your mice? Nothing. And you'll be less than nothing when I strangle you until you stop breathing."
  3. Salvo Salvo stood as Frost exited the room. Folding her arms, she faced Terrifica and listened to what the super-genius had to say. She moved to the side of the room where Frost had sat and leaned against the wall. Her head followed Terrifica's movements around the room and back to their chairs. When Terrifica finished her piece, Salvo stared at the cowl, a few seconds of silence between the two heroes. "No," she finally said, shaking her head. "No," she repeated. Her voice was tight but wasn't raised as it had been before. "Apology not accepted for the second point and apology definitely not accepted for the other points if you would have apologized which, you know, you didn't." She strode to Terrifica, close enough that they were only half an arm's length from each other, Salvo looming over Terrifica. "Do you even hear yourself? So many put-downs and excuses that I know everything you've said is only to stroke your ego." She puched a finger at Terrifica, stopping just short of hitting the other woman in the chest. Every words was spat now and punctuated by a stab of her finger. "For someone who loves to act so smart and rational she is you are an idiot. You're stupid and blind. So why don't you use that brain of yours to actually understand why your fellow heroes don't like you, hmm?" She raised a fist between them and counted off, a finger raising with every point. "One. You don't get to prod and poke and say it's for my own good. Two. You have no authority, no bearing to say what you say, so yeah, soften what you say or will it actually kill you? In fact, let Frost work out my mistakes. He doesn't need a know-it-all rubbing it in his face. Three. I don't need your instruction. I never had and now I know I never will because I know you'll mess it up like you messed up both our applications." "Fourth," And she swiveled her head to take in the room. "Put that all on record if someone's watching. All of it."
  4. And I forgot my Recovery Constitution Checks to remove Unconscious. DC 10 1st: 1d20+5 = 6 2nd 1d20+6= 21 She's conscious in 2 minutes.
  5. He's telling the truth and nothing but the truth! Well, since you did get so close you still get the feeling he's not saying everything but you figure it's probably something like pictures of his dog. You put that out of your mind to focus on more important things. Edit: Orrrr some crazy, toe-the-line tax avoidance schemes like you said in Discord.
  6. Free Action: Talk and push the button. Move Action: Move to the edge of the building.
  7. Nicole "Hey pirate asshats!" Up on the roofdeck, Nicole held a loudspeaker to her lips. On the other hand she held the Horologium above her head where everyone could see it. Even through Thunderbird's fog, it shone dully from the light in Zenith's dome. Multi-colored and burnt like glass heated too long in the forge. She drove towards the edge of the roof to where one of the pirate ships was hovering just beyond Zenith's dome and where Forever Boy, White Lioness and Veronica were fighting on its deck. Then she waved the Horologium again just to make sure she had their attention. "Yeah, I know what you want. I know what all you peg-legged storybook rejects are here for! But it's alllll for nothing, you hear me!" Her laptop was on her lap and a wire ran from one of its harddrive ports to the Horologium. Big red numbers on the laptop's screen gave a countdown and when she glanced at the didplay she gave a big grin. Fifty-four seconds. Fifty-three seconds and counting. She wouldn't stop it if she could but no one needed to know the Horologium had less than a minute left. "One push of this button and the Horologium is blown to smithereens! So stay and get beat up or run away back to Neverworld, cause no matter what happens Hook isn't taking the Horologium!"

Oh, and she has to roll or be considered Dying. Fortitude DC 22. Fortitude Save: 1d20+12 = 14 Save or be Dead. DC 10. Fortitude Save: 1d20+12 = 23 She is now Fatigued, Staggered, Disabled, Dazed, and Unconscious.
  9. Salvo Nicole turned her head slowly at the touch on her face and her eyes widened as she noticed the mouse on her shoulder. She opened her mouth to scream-- And doubled over, head bowed, knees and elbows thunking down on white nothing. Eyes screwed shut, she screamed and screamed where no one could hear until her throat hurt and tears and snot streaming down her face. Trembling, she reached a hand up to her shoulder and grasped at air. There was no mouse waiting for her but that did not reassure her. She was split in two and even wearing Bellios she was not safe. They robbed her of that and she would make them pay. Kill them. Burn them. Right the wrongs. Find Rita's body and lay her to rest. The hand at her shoulder clenched into a fist and Salvo's shoulder exploded in fire and pain.
  10. GM Hwang looks from you to Salvo then back again, his mouth agape as he wracks his thoughts for an answer to the sudden question. <I-- I-- There's jewelry and gold inside my vault." He was stammering but he shut his eyes and that seemed to get his thoughts in order. "Precious metal like diamonds and rubies and sapphires. And yes, metals from the Grue and an almost complete Atlantean armor set. Not Terminus, not weapons. Those are illegal and besides, the government compensates well for those. He opens his eyes and turns to you. <Do you think they want those?> Then it was back to another huddle between you and Salvo. "Comfortable," Salvo says in reply before switching to Spanish. She nodds at your plan. <But only once the hostages are safe. Hope Hwang's got insurance for his art because no way the fight's going to be pretty.> <So, you ready? Think Officer Gi is waiting on us.> And true enough he was, arms crossed and tapping his foot repeatedly. Clenched in one of his hands was what looked to be the blueprints of the building.
  11. Can you give me a Sense Motive roll vs DC 22? Salvo's Sense Motive: 1d20+2 = 12
  12. Nicole Nicole was gone right after Selena had suggested suiting up and by the time Lulu had read Chawla's mind Salvo was flying high above the Bo-Tsu bar. Purple lightning arced behind her, momentarily burning her silhoutte against the dark clouds, and her armor flared in response. Red against purple against black, she looked upon all of the Li city from her lofty height, uncaring of the dangers of the storm. That fool, running off by his lonesome and leaving behind only blood and a tattered shirt. She had an objective now and a dangerous foe, one that could threaten the Sun Prince, but she also had a team behind her, one just as ready to fight for Leroy as she was. Ruined the field trip. Ruined the bar. Ruined the Li. She would find them and kill them both. The sky flashed and lightning struck her yet, with a casual ease, she raised one hand to the side and discharged the electricity with a roar of flame louder than the ensuing thunder. Down below her, as one, the communication devices of the Claremont students, Praetorians, and the Li crackled with Salvo's voice in a rapid staccato. "This is Salvo. Gauss, summarize a sitrep. What else has Crystal-Gazer seen? Seven's has been searching through communications channels. What has it found? To, you offered assistance. Give it to us."
  13. Nicole Mice streaming from the walls and all around them as she and Rita ran for the elevator. Nicole cracked her knuckles as she approached Bellios, her lips tight in concentration. Yeah, the scientist wanted her to be quick about things and she would be. Getting in and activating the whole armor only took ten seconds max. The desperate fight in the elevator. A mouse biting down on Rita before silver veins spread from her neck. This whole place needed a burning down. One mouse wasn't a threat, but in great numbers they could be, biting and stopping a grown person cold. But to a hero with no chinks in her armor? To Salvo? Irrelevant. Mice swarmed over Rita. Her hand reached out one last time. Nicole's hand reached out as Bellios readied to accept her. Engines thrummed to life at her will. Weapons of war and destruction to be loosed upon its master's enemies. She saw herself reflected in its visor, grinning now a thin slash of a smile. It was time to end this nightmarish charade.
  14. GM <With the hostages?> Officer Gi scoffed before turning his head towards the dark tower. <Our hands are tied.> Then you exchanged channels so that both of you could stay in touch before heading over to Mister Hwang. Mister Hwang looked to be somewhere in his fifties, hair thinning and a little round from luxury, but the recent attack made him look ten years older. When you approach and ask him questions, he stares at you for a few seconds to let your words sink in. He pulls the towel draped on his shoulders a little tighter over him. <Everything I saw?> He says, as if to ask you if he heard correctly. <Yes, yes. Gyungmi had put in the finishing touches just when the Nang and his wife arrived fifteen minutes before seven...> It takes a while as Hwang paints a detailed picture of what happened and you are left with several facts. The event was to be an intimate event of thirty listed guests and a plus one each. The three floors of Hwang's penthouse were open for all, save for his residential rooms and his basement, leaving the two-floor ballroom, balcony, and garden the main areas where guests could mingle. They were all filled with expensive artwork that would be used for Hwang's new museum. From millenia old sculptures to abstract paintings by up-and-coming artists, he had it all. Dinner was light meals and refreshments provided by a high-end caterer. All was going well within an hour, Hwang flitting from one group to another, when the windows overlooking the city exploded inward. Next thing he knew, there were people with guns and a large robot almost as wide as it was tall that scraped the first floor ceiling. The last he saw of the whole incident before he escaped through a secret panic elevator was one woman shouting orders as the soldiers herded the guests into his residential rooms, beating anyone stubborn into submission. <And here I am," Hwang said at last, sounding miserable, shoulders sagging. <Maybe they're looking to steal all that art if it's just hard cash they're after,> Salvo said when you relayed everything Hwang said. The two of you stood just a little bit away from the Korean tycoon as you huddled together. <With every piece he described, it must total a few hundred million dollars at least, but they don't seem to have anything capable of transporting all those goods.> She looked at the Korean tycoon. <Course, kidnapping all the guests and demanding a ransom is bound to give them something. But again no transportation.> She shook her head. <Still, their motives are less important than what's going on. We've got a whole lot of bad guys who aren't scared to get dirty and a whole lot of hostages, meaning we've got to tiptoe on eggshells here until we get the hostages to safety. Then the kid gloves come off.> <So,> she said, looking back at Gauss. <Got a plan?>
  15. Notice: 1d20+4 = 14 Alas. Too bad she hasn't unlocked its ability to take independent actions.
  16. "Enough with my age," Salvo growled, her voice low, even for the program that brought made her sound like a woman more mature than she really was. She towered over most women and could make most grown men cower in fear, yet when she folded her arms and faced away from Terrifica a hint of the lanky teenager inside could be seen. Miffed but mostly mollified by Terrifica's comments, Salvo looked at Frost. "Terrifica's correct. I'm almost nineteen but that doesn't matter when I'm wearing my armor and so I don't broadcast it to the world." Her arms still folded, one hand made a vague gesture at herself and the battlesuit that covered her from head to toe. "And I'd appreciate it if none of you do going forward." "Fine. We both made mistakes. I own up to mine and maybe Terrifica owns up to hers," though from the tone of her voice it was obvious that she really doubted Terrifica had even registered them when she had pointed them out. "But like Terrifica said, you know what we've both done and are capable of." Her visor rested on Frost. Unblinking, faceless. "Do your worst."
  17. So three things Nicole is trying to do. 1.) Look for a less unwieldy than a lamppost. 2.) Activate her glasses Darkvision. 3.) Try and summon Bellios. The darkness will mask its coming, hence why she's not so worried about the flickering lights. Though she could be wrong that it's an indicator of Bellios. Could be the normal flickering as said from a post before.
  18. Nicole The hairs at the back of her neck stood on end as the voice finished speaking. There were other sounds beyond that voice, people moving around, but in a way that just seemed off to her, ringing alarm bells in her head. It was her gut telling her to be careful. Two years in the superhero business and she'd couldn't count the times her gut had saved her. "Yeah." Nicole said as she looked around the laboratory for a better weapon than a damned lamppost. "Yeah, coming!" As she looked she waited for Bellios to come. The bumps had stopped, meaning the mice were gone, or just watching and waiting. No witnesses. The lights flickered and this time Nicole gave a small smile. Her hand reached up and activated her glasses, a faint glow of purple in the darkness.
  19. Sense Motive: 1d20+2 = 11 Notice: 1d20+4 = 24 Nice. Nat 20. How about they quickly close their eyes, huh?!
  20. Salvo Nicole looked up as 777 expressed its concern for Leroy. "Like, I said, Seven. He can take care of himself just fine, but if you're really worried..." She scratched the nape of her neck then tapped Lulu on the shoulder. "Lulu, can you try make a link with Leroy? He couldn't have gone far. Tell him we're at the Bo-Tsu bar near the landing site." She waved her hand at the massive first floor with all manner of lifeforms in it. "It's the big square with neon lights like a hard open on Friday night and all the aliens in it. He can't miss it."
  21. Nicole "Helllloooo!" Nicole drove her wheelchair forward, not daring to stop as the bumps continued. She passed by laboratories, her lamppost held at the ready. She would peeked her head inside only to find an empty room before hurrying to the next laboratory to repeat the process. Nothing and more nothing, and with each empty room her heart sank. As the bumps and flickering lights continued her calls for help turned into whimpers. Her memory threatened to bring her back to the mice swarming over Rita, over the person she abandoned. The hand reaching for help stuck at the back of her mind like an unpleasant afterimage, and though she'd blink away tears she pushed on until she was right before the nanotech laboratory. "Help," she said, barely above a whisper. The bumps quickly drowning it out. "Please."
  22. Salvo Terrifica's self-assessment brought no outward reaction from Salvo. Instead she quietly formulated a response to Frost's question, sitting still while Terrifica spome. She had commited her own mistakes for sure, but the exercise was done in good faith, the best that she could have given. Then Terrifica offered to give an assessment on her. Frost gave a go-ahead gesture before she could do anything but eye the super-genius from the corner of her visor. The fists she had made before only got tighter as Terrifica continued speaking until she could have bent metal from the pressure if she were so inclined. "You don't get to do that," Salvo said, her voice in a low growl by the time Terrifica had finished. Her visor glowed darker as she faced Frost, Terrifica able only to see the side of her helmet. "You don't get to throw me under a bus and wave that I'm under twenty like a damned flag to the world, whatever your super-intuition told you." Her head snapped towards Terrifica and the visor glared like live eyes. "No. You don't get to hide behind your rational and logic either, putting all the blame on our failure on me but neglecting everything you've done wrong." She brought her hand up, with the index finger out, and struck it like a gong with the fingers of her other hand. "You negated my efforts on opening the airlock the first time, slowing our efforts as we had to open it a second time. You even went so far as to question me. You lack the trust needed when a split-second decision needs to be made like I did." She struck her second finger. "You stole control of the on-board computers from my systems. If I didn't let it go we could have been stuck there wrestling with each other while the clock ticked down." Third finger. Third strike. "Then I was the boots on the ground and you were mission control. That you didn't guide me well enough to do as you like or, hell, even where the vents were shows a failure in coordination. A controller's one job!" The sound of her struck fingers receeded in the silence. "I did just as well as anyone else, including Terrifica."
