  1. "Yeah we can get to the roof." Hyperactive said as he locked the face shield in place. He began running and with his back draft lifted up the other hero. Booking it straight at the mansion he ran he ran up a wall and both of them stopped up on the roof. "So what do you think?" Hyperactive asked letting his legs dangle. "Gotta plan Weekend?"
  2. GM A police officer stepped into the chapel and waved his gun around. Which besides being incredibly stupid wasn't too dangerous for any present. Hyperactive still zipped over and unloaded the gun for the officer. He let the bullets fall. "Officer please tell me I'm gonna have to do more than write up a gun safety complaint." Hyperactive said. "Well, you're not gonna like this." Muttered the officer looking down the barrel which elicited a horrified noise from Lurlene. "But uh-" he held out his phone as he went over to kick the guns away from the two unconscious wedding crashers. Displayed on his phone was the image of frozen people with horrified faces. The bodies spelled out two words: I'm back. "Great. That looks like the work of Nitrous." Hyperactive declared taking in the image. "They found 'em in a bank in Beaumont." The officer added.
  3. Can I take ten when I attack the minion when my turn comes up?
  4. Initiative: 1d20+12 14 lets go second worst possible roll! Get 'em out early!
  5. PC "so this was all to get back with breakneck?" Asked Hyperactive to Lurlene. So someone had handed an angry heart broken girl tools she really couldn't handle and tried to get them to take down a Speedster. That happened often enough here. What was weird was that memory loss. And a player he didn't know. "Hephaestus?" He asked aloud. "Have you guys heard of him?" Hyperactive added. "I'm not too sure I like the thought of someone handing anti-Speedster tech to angry people in my state. I have enough problems as is."
  6. GM Lurlene blinked hard. She looked like she was trying to remember something that was on the edge of her mind. She shook her head. "Hephaestus." She managed. "Said this was future tech. Should stop speedsters, specially you." She pointed at the gas dispensers and the plasma rifle before pointing at Pacer. Her memories slowly seemed to be returning and a look of panic flooded her face. "I didn' mean ta kill nobawdy." She started to well up, with what looked to be tears of terror and horror. "Honest! Yew gotta believe me!" She said looking at Breakneck.
  7. Well Project Safeguard is the more military team. So I think for tone purposes, the oil derrick works best. Needs a catchy name. And as far as how they see the league, well the Dream Team is American. Is there a crisis in space? Until it provides a clear and present danger it isn't their problem. German landslide? Not their jurisdiction. Essentially they are happy for the help in emergencies, but they are gonna always try to spin it as the League was helping them. Vaquero or Moneymaker might also let intel they can't actually deal with get leaked to the League. Say a mob boss etc.
  8. Sure, it's essentially a tenement a lot of nameless live there. The owner is a pink called Zander-009.
  9. Hyperactive took in all the conversation quietly. He was already flipping a coin when he heard the phrase: "speed is of the essence." "Well if we need to move quick." Hyperactive gave a slight pause to see if anyone would laugh. He smiled and locked his faceshield back into combat mode. "Well then why don't we go say hello?" Hyperactive was gone in a moment. The time for deliberation was over. He could go say hello nicely to the people with rifles and ask if they wouldn't mind letting them in. If they declined, well he would knock them out. Nice and simple really. Which was honestly if not his pace, his style. "Howdy gents, before you shoot, you should know that I am significantly faster than any bullets!" Hyperactive said flipping his signature coin as he reached the two with the rifles at the base of the stairs. "We can try and resolve this element peacefully if you like or I can knock both of you out."
  10. Moneymaker will have turned back as many people she could. It's not everybody, some were lost or left too long and she definitely feels that. So yes, some people see her as getting away with crimes. I'll be honest, Vaquero kills from time to time. No one has proved it though. And as a government operative there's times when he can kill. very similar! Liberty and justice have played a similar role to the spirit of liberty, but they've picked less military heroes. (The last person with them was a civil rights activist, and there was an abolitionist before that) as far as a battlesuit... I had an idea a while back for a corgi in a battle suit from a hidden city of talking animals, kinda more diverse gorilla city. Kinda super scientist dog who makes a suit to make sure his/her city remains safe and hidden. Maybe an Avian for the air controller. Avian who can control air and talk to birds... hmmmm
  11. I'm not familiar with Bedlam, so I could use some suggestions on what criminal group this could be. Might make for a hook at some point. As far as a brick: Moneymaker Class: Powerhouse State: Wisconsin Mariah Washington gained her reputation as the Moneymaker in Bedlam City as a top enforcer and body guard of one of the powerful gangs. Her ability to change her body into a substance that looked like gold, albeit much harder, and to turn people and objects into gold made her a feared criminal. Her turning and being instrumental in dismantling the syndicate earned her a presidential pardon and a spot on the Dream Team.
  12. Ok. What is this? Well the Dream Team is my way of interpreting part of the guidebook post for the Freedom POTUS. Mainly that he wants more state backed supers. So this is the very much work in progress line up and write up for this team. None of this is sacred, all of it is up for debate and change. I left the team deliberately half written because I have no idea if anyone beside me saw the POTUS and went "OH! OH! OH! I KNOW WHO WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THAT!" So yeah very much work in progress and would love suggestions! it also definitely is not formatted. Will do but it wasn't a priority in my half a first draft. Things still missing: More members for the core: This is not the full line up. There's currently no female members for one and I would personally think that this would be a diverse team. Refining responsibilities: Is there anything else that people can think of that these guys should be doing? That maybe they shouldn't/couldn't/ wouldn't be doing? Fluff: they have no hideout etc. Wasn't really sure where was the best place to put them, I was leaning towards the south, might be nice to have Freedom in the east, Bedlam in the North, and EC in the west, so we put this in the south. Just a thought. The Dream Team The Dream Team is The United States of America's government sponsored super team. They began operation on July 4th, 2017 under a charter from the Federal Extra-Normal Defense Fund Creation Act (FENDFCA). They will operate under the public eye, stopping crime and preventing national disasters. Function and Goals Essentially they serve three functions: prevent and mitigate the effects of natural disasters, stop open and large scale super crime, and train other heroes and law enforcement. All of these activities are openly broadcast and displayed to the public, and the website for the Dream Team has information on their activities as well as costs and return on investment made public (It saves a lot of money to have super heroes unwind a tornado before it can cause any property damage!). They also can investigate crimes, but must have search warrants, probable cause, etc. At the end of the day the Dream Team has one real and tangible goal: Protect the American people. Core Members American Dream Class: Paragon State: Texas Juan Carlos-Sanchez AKA the American Dream is the face and heart of the team. His powers are granted from two psychic entities known as Liberty and Justice. They give him the ability to fly, generate a forcefield, and endow him with incredible strength. He is a notably young hero, only twenty five and the son of Filipino immigrants. Juan wears no mask, preferring his signature Stetson hat, Levi Jeans, and Ariat Boots Vaquero Class: Cowl State: California The Vaquero is a Gunslinger from the state of California. Notable for being a quick draw, skilled with a lasso, and having a number of trick bullets that can end situations non lethally. Vaquero was chosen for the team because of his ability to not only talk down common criminals, but also to emphasize with the public. Rumor has it that he has no powers, only his training and skill, making him an ideal for young kids to strive for. Satire Class: Other State: New York Satire is one of those odd heroes. A living political cartoon of more or less unknown origin. His ability to regenerate and shapeshift makes him a versatile combatant. Meanwhile he is already becoming the heart of the team, able to be both encouragement and critic as the need arises. And comic relief. Mostly comic relief. Mystery Master Class: Mystic State: Tennessee Mystery Master is a former member of the Waco Warriors. His magic stems from his connection to the ley lines that cross the Earth as well as the innate magic found in certain geometries. His signature spells deal with reshaping the weather or creating shapes of mystic energy out of the air.
  13. GM "I was talkin' with someone and I just remember gettin'..." Lurlene paused. Looking around at the rest of the heroes gathered and the terrified people, who were booking it out of the chapel at this point. "Mad. Real ornery. I dunno why, but I knew if I did somethin' like this. You'd come." She said quietly. "Where did you get the gun?" Hyperactive asked. He folded his arms and had looked over the gas dispensers. He had almost no technical skill, but it looked sleek and well fancy. "And the anti-Speedster tech?" "I... well. That guy I was talkin' wit' well I think he gave 'me to me." Lurlene looked away from Hyperactive and back at Breakneck. "What happened?"
  14. Using my quickness 17 I'm gonna search the whole town for cameras, bombs, etc. And if I can find anything that might lead to this director. So search result 29 on that check.
  15. "Hello." Hyperactive responded. He took a look over the town. Nope this was absolutely like a movie set. And someone called action. "So we're looking for a director." Hyperactive told Weekend Man. This was weird. Who was in on this who wasn't. "Think he's using mind control?" Hyperactive asked. Hyperactive hated mind control. He tried to run the Baylor fight song in the back of his mind in case someone tried to listen in. He wasn't sure if it would help, but with how much raw processing power his brain had at super speed. It was viable. "Why don't I search the town to see if anything seems really out of place. Cameras, bombs, et certera. Be back." With that Hyperactive was gone, he was moving as fast as he could without jumping into another dimension. He came back back to the other hero. After seeing the whole town. It was uneasy. "ok so first off, cameras everywhere." Hyperactive pointed everywhere. "No bombs either. Which hey an up. And the director has a mansion. Shall we?"
  16. "Well I guess I'd better get running." Hyperactive started to move. The rest of the group might catch a shimmering after image of him for a brief moment, but then Hyperactive was gone. He ran as quickly as he could while still remaining well invisible. It wouldn't take too long to check these caves, at least he hoped, and Hyperactive made sure to give Gabriel a wide enough berth. While le he wasn't running he turned over the idea of the rebellion over in his head. Would they be doing any good? What if the Empress was just waiting for them to find the rebels for her? But then these were smart people and far far far smarter than him. They'd have a plan for that. Right? Would he even know if it was a trap? Hyperactive shook his head to clear it. He needed to focus on the job at hand, scouting. Seeing where to make a stand or ambush if need be. Places where they might get ambushed in. He could manage this and so he could do the best he could.
  17. As per the ic I'm gonna rule that this takes us out of combat, since y'all would pummel her senseless anyways and this is more interesting.
  18. Like My Father, But Bolder- Hyperactive June 30th, 2017 Seasonal, outside Chicago The ball went sailing through the air again. It was kind of a weird experience. The lights and the cameras and the microphones all for a game of catch. But that was what they needed for this shoot. The government had a series of grants running for those supers willing to shoot what amounted to essentially propaganda videos. The Seasonal, the training facility and base for Mr. October and Sunset Speedster, had been more than happy to shoot a video for the government project and their son Tyson, aka Hyperactive, had been willing to be a part of it. They'd settled on a super powered game of catch to show off the young heroes training and skills. Tyson was paying attention, but his mind was in the past. Catch had been the way Tyson and Frederick Masters had connected when Tyson was growing up. Tyson's powers had come piecemeal, his speed first and reflexes much later. Tyson's father hadn't had that problem and so both of them had struggled with the clumsy super sonic youth. Tyson watched the ball as it came in slowly at only about a hundred miles an hour. He held up his mitt and snagged it out of the air. He flicked the ball back into his other hand before sending it off with a flick of his wrist over at one of the kids who now called the Seasonal home. Whiplash, as the young man was known, let his arm stretch out and grab the ball almost a hundred feet away. Frederick Masters, in a limited version of his costume as Mr. October, dropped down besides his son. "Glad you could make it." Boomed the middle aged hero to his son, all for the cameras. The ball went flying towards 2.0 who wasn't paying attention. Neither hero reacted as both watched the ball impact with the girl's jaw. Before it had moved even another centimeter Tyson Masters aka Hyperactive stretched out his hand and pulled the kinetic energy from the ball freezing it in the air. "2.0!" Hyperactive asked zipping forward and grabbing the ball as the teenager rubbed her jaw. "What was your mistake?" "I didn't catch the ball?" She asked and Hyperactive sent the ball whirling at her.her arm snapped up in response. She snatched it out of the air. "Why'd you catch it that time?" Mr. October asked as 2.0 sent the ball back at Whiplash. "I wasn't paying attention." Sighed the young technopath. The game of catch resumed and October hovered near his son. Both men stepped back. They watched the ball streak back and forth as they took in the display of powers. "My base is still cooler." Hyperactive punched his old man before making a show of shaking his wrist out. This was only partly for the camera. "But you know this is all publicity." October said stepping back and waving the mic away. Hyperactive flashed the number five. "Sure. The Seasonal stands ready to keep the streets of Chicago Clean." "Hey J.T. Bought us new toys who am I to argue?" Shrugged October. The new toys had been some much needed renovations to the base. Including a means of rapid transit for slower heroes, much to 2.0's delight. "Yeah Zyte and I will be working on that for Waco in a little bit. Hornet and Vagabond were thrilled with the upgrades." Both men went back to watching the ball fly. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. "Did you ever wonder if your team would last?" "Condor and I butted heads as boys. Your mother and her father didn't always see eye to eye." He paused as he watched the ball fly back and forth. "And the rest, well I'd hardly call us a team. We stuck to those old fashioned rules." Again a pause as both men watched the two up and coming heroes send the ball back and forth. "They didn't." Hyperactive closed his eyes behind his mask. He remembered the video of Mr. October, Sunset Speedster, Condor and Summer Son had protected Condor from the vigilantes Treble and Base. Those two had come to kill the original Drone Master and the four heroes had defended her. It had split the city's opinion. Some had supported the attempt at a public execution while most had been appalled. "You know I'm so thankful for that." Hyperactive said looking at his father. "For all the times you and Condor kept me from killing. It made me a better man." Hyperactive looked forward. "I miss him dad." "I know son." Sighed October. "That run you did for cancer with those other speedsters was great. I'm sure he loved it." The ball flew like a weaver's shuttle between the other two. "J.T. Wanted me to convince you to run for his federal team." "Did he ask you?" "No he wants to leave states and cities with some heroes." October snagged the ball as it came near and sent it long for Whiplash. "Was a little insulted when his request for me was to convince you." "I'm loathe to leave the warriors." Sighed Hyperactive. It was true, but not all the truth. He was thinking of the other teams of Federal heroes and how sometimes they were seen as being wholly ineffective. The ball went wide and he was out and snagging it and lobbing it back into play without a thought. He really hoped they could get enough video for one shoot. He didn't want to do this all again. "I remember the days of state sponsored heroes, and the licensing programs." October said. "I'm happy taking money until they tell me to kill someone." "I don't think that's what they have in mind." "That's not how it starts." October added. "I know I know. Public safety becomes registration, becomes camps, and death squads." Most days Tyson was flippant when he said things like that to his father, but today? It was serious. He'd run across the multiverse, fought world conquerors and seen the might of the Terminus from afar. But he had always had Prime to run home to. "You want to prevent that? Then join them. Let your voice be heard. Stand for what is right." "Like you and mom and Summer Son?" Tyson grinned. "Better than us Son." Frederick said. "But Hyperactive. Remember that no matter what happens, we love you." The two men hugged and Hyperactive really hoped that it was caught on camera. A few hours later, Tyson sat in the Attometer watching the lightning burn across the sky of the Shadow Zone. He swirled the Dr. Pepper in his glass as the communication array stabilized. "Mr. President. I've considered your proposal."
  19. AA and Mafia, Hyperactive will use Air control and speed to move Weekend man to the town where the director is.
  20. GM Lurlene Spat. Lurlene Cursed. The red light in her eyes flared up. And then it faded. The young woman looked confused and panicked. She struggled against the mighty grip of Stalwart, to no avail. Her grip on her gun loosened for a moment before she caught it, seeming to have presence of mind not to drop the loaded weapon. "Where? Wut?" She asked her head whipping back and forth passed the collected heroes. "Breakneck wut' goin' on?" She asked as she tried to orient herself.
  21. GM "well then, lets make sure he isn't late and this is all a waste." Gear remarked. Cain for his part was more than happy to lead them to where they needed to go. He seemed to want to continue to exist. The Knot was what anyone would call a rough neighborhood. There was a way people held themselves. They tended to stay together or if they went by themselves they kept their head down and moved quickly. No one was openly hostile as the four arrived but everyone saw and made note of them. "That front stoop." Cain gestured at the front of what was probably a residential building of some kind. There were a few clusters of nameless moving around, but no one paid much mind. "I'm supposed to go there to meet with my contact."
  22. "You know what, I have absolutely no idea what I did." Hyperactive replied getting back on his feet. He looked between the two of them. This was weird, but as far as he could tell not world ending. Or at least not imminently world ending. Which was good. He had time. "I think, emphasis on think, that I just split the two of you pushed part of you into the Shadow Zone and the background radiation and energy gave you both physical form." Hyperactive paused, looked around at the stillness and quiet. A moment or longer to grab his breath perhaps. "Or I could be totally wrong!" "In any case we should talk this out not fight it out. Come on no one else needs to get hurt."
  23. I edited my last IC post to contain the attack!
  24. Sure whatever you've got in mind! Lets get crazy!
  25. Sounds like a plan Dimension Attack: 1d20+8 10 so a massive miss. Feel free to dump him into the Shadow Zone
