  1. Will save: 1d20+7 21 really? Really? Ok... well I guess I try to hit Weekend Man again Power Attack: 1d20+8 25 ouch... ummmmm DC 27 toughness save.
  2. Definitely need to finalize the formatting on this (the tablet is awful for that) and would love feedback if I've gotten anything really terribly wrong numbers wise as I finish cleaning this up. Feeding Frenzy Power Level: 10 Trade offs: -3 defense/+3 toughness, melee -5 attack/+5 damage In Brief: Atlantean wereshark struggling to be a hero and not an animal. Catchphrase: Chow time Theme: Jaws Theme/monster by Skillet Alternate Identity: Koa Halelani Birthplace: Pacific Ocean Residence: Claremont Base of Operations: Claremont Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont Family: Mother, Celeste Halelani Description: Age: 16 (DoB: 2000, September 15) Apparent Age: 16 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Atlantean Height: 5'9" Weight: 125 lbs Eyes: silver Hair: black Koa is a dark skinned very skinny boy. He's thin and on the shorter side. He hates wearing shirts and prefers to go around bare chested. If he has to wear a shirt he tries to leave as many buttons open as he can. His entire upper body is covered in black and red Polynesian style tattoos. He usually wears either cargo shorts, jean shorts, or swim shorts. He has webbing between his fingers and toes which forces him to wear zori sandals or go barefoot. His mouth has a few rows of sharpened teeth. When he's doing hero work he wears a pair of red goggles and a tight red swim cap. He also wears a pair of red and black swimming shorts. He also has a small utility belt with meat sticks in it. As a wereshark, Feeding Frenzy is a massive creature. He hunches over and still stands at seven feet tall. His fin sprouts from his back between his shoulder blades. Back between his legs is a large crescent shaped tail. His tattoos are all expanded over his tough black flesh. His face is totally unrecognizable, it's a massive shark head with rows and rows of teeth. His silver eyes are still present. History: As a boy, Koa remembered waiting for his father to come home. His father was a soldier. He fought for the kingdom of Atlantis and would often be gone for long stretches of time. However, he knew his father wasn't a normal soldier. He knew this because he wasn't a normal Atlantean boy. He and his father had the same set of abilities. From the time he could swim on his own Koa found himself very different from those outside his clan. His voracious appetite was the first thing. He could consume his entire body weight in a single sitting. But nothing set him off like blood. Any kind of blood even miles away beneath the waves made him fly into a rage. His father was one of the few people who could hold him back. For good reason, when they smelled blood they both would face that same fury. That same hunger. Koa's father trained him to resist the blood frenzy. When he turned twelve he began to find that his fury was matched with a change in his physical body (which, adding to puberty? Really really sucked.) his body became a slender shark with arms and legs. Atlantean Military training from his father made that more and more muscular. Koa would have wanted to continue to train under his father. But then Atlantis went to war. His father was part of the invasion force in Emerald City. He never came home. His mother couldn't train her son, and was afraid of what he might do if he lost control. So she pulled strings with her husband's military and government friends. Koa arrived at Claremont to learn to be a hero. He resented the deep ones for taking his father from him. On the other hand everyone looked at him with trepidation, he looked and fought like the invaders. So he decided to do one thing. Prove them wrong. He decided to be a hero. Not just a hero, the best hero. His way, his terms, but Koa would be undeniably heroic. Through and through. He wanted to show them that he was up to snuff. Personality & Motivation: Koa's farther was a hero. He raised his son to want to do right for the world. Koa wants to do right for his home nation. At Claremont he is trying to learn to become the man his father wanted him to be. He fights to prove the Atlantean aren't all terrible, and because he wants to prove that for himself. Powers & Tactics: Most people can't tell tell that Koa is a wereshark. This allows him to go around incognito or get a lot closer than he could as a humanoid shark. Usually Koa prefers to drop in and snatch people out of the way and into the dark. When forced to fight openly he prefers to grab enemies and grapple them. He is a grappler first and foremost in his Frenzy form. He batters away smaller enemies he can and bites those he can't just smack away. Power Descriptions: Most of Koa's regular strength comes from Atlantean physiology. He's tougher, faster, and stronger than a normal human. He has gills in his neck and webbed hands. In his wereshark form his magic lends him his tremendous strength. He tends to opt for a crushing bite down on targets, due to years of training he doesn't devour enemies, but they will be left with pretty nasty wounds. Complications: Am I a monster?: At a very basic level turning into a terrifying shark on legs is enough to make people run screaming. In addition, most weresharks are ruthless and frenzied flesh eating berserkers. This means most Atlanteans, even those who appreciate his potential military uses, usually give him a wide berth. On another level, people still remember the Atlantean invasions. It's hard to wake up every morning trying to be someone who no matter what face you have is a scary one. Blood lust: When seized by the Frenzy Koa can't turn back until he has eaten flesh. He also can't control how much of a thing he eats when he starts there's no stopping until it is gone. Usually his keen senses can find something so that he can turn back, but if he can't the hunger will grow and grow. The longer and more times he transforms the more he needs to eat to grow back. Needs water: Koa needs to spend at least fifteen minutes a day fully immersed in Salt water or he begins to become very sick. My Country Right or Wrong: Koa's father, was part of the invasion and Koa saw the videos of atrocities and even war crimes committed by his fellows, but he still stands by his people. A hero point should be awarded for forcing him to go against the nation of Atlantis. 3. Hyperactive swung hard again at the weekend man with all the might he could bring to bear. Once, twice, thrice. Just barely missing every time and sending up three plumes of dirt and dust. His blows were swinging a little wildly as he looked to beat down on his ally.
  4. Well Hyperactive is gonna power attack, just shifting by 2. Power Attack Weekend Man: 1d20+8 18 DC 27 toughness if that hits.
  5. The computers in the Attometer all went bright red at once. Six monitors all flashing for a base in New Mexico being under attack. That put that out of Waco Warrior jurisdiction. It also was not a code he recognized. Which was when it dawned on him. This was that new FEND bill stuff. An attack on a military base that hit his radar almost certainly meant Meta involvement. Well there was a solution for that. There was a flash of light as Hyperactive crossed out of the Shadowzone back onto Prime. He was in Haiti, but distance meant nearly nothing to the Superluminal Speedster. The world seemed still as he shot westward across the rapidly red shifting landscape. It would take but an instant to arrive. He was jumping straight into the action. "Alright so flying metas..." Hyperactive said as he took in the whole scene at his max processing speed. Well they'd come down soon. "Hey ummmm is the plane attacking or are the metas attacking, the message was unclear." Hyperactive slowed himself down and asked a soldier nearby, realizing he really had not taken in that message's contents.
  6. Hyperactive's mask locked into combat mode. Hyperactive darted in at the Weekend Man and lashed out at him with a kick at the inner knee. As he landed he swung with a roundhouse kick to the chest. His hands clapped on Weekend's ears and then he slammed his knee up into the other hero's gut. Hyperactive raised his hands up and stood in a fighting stance a few feet from the other hero.
  7. In a flash of motion the four young heroes made their way to Beaumont. The bank wasn't difficult to find. There was seeming miles of tape around it. A half dozen cop cars surrounded the building. Within the bank a dozen cops and csi looked over the scene. In addition, a young woman in a green hoodie with a bow and quiver slung over her back. "Vagabond?" Hyperactive asked his fellow Waco Warrior. She turned and looked up from the bullet casings she had been looking over. "Hey Streaky." Vagabond drawled back with a grin. "You playin' babysitter?" She pointed at the rest of the assembled heroes.
  8. Resist Mind Control: 1d20+5 11 gonna Hero point that Reroll resist: 1d20+5 21 ok so mind controlled... Initiative: 1d20+12 31 so I guess I'm up first. Ok how thorough is this mind control. Do I have to just attack Weekend man? Or can I hit both of them via speeding around beating down? Attack roll: 1d20+10 28 DC 25 toughness save for whoever I hit
  9. Did Casey graduate from Claremont or is she still a student?
  10. Hyperactive loved running at this speed. .9c nine tenths the speed of light. Nothing could touch you at that speed. And the world was still. Water droplets from stalagmites (or were they stalagtites? Vagabond had told him once but he hadn't been paying attention.) seemed to be suspended from the air. He could do this all day, and for him it almost did feel that way. In the end though he did have things to find. And find them he did. The space was fairly open. At least enough for their purposes without being too big. The lighting was poor, which should give them places to ambush, and hide. There were also stalagtites, (tight to the ceiling right?) that hung up above, hey could be useful to drop on an angry dragon's head. He sent a shower of gold coins up into the air with a kick and slowed his senses down to let himself watch them turn and twinkle as they fell. "Gabriel don't know if you can hear me, but if things go south I think I found a good spot to settle things with fists." He paused. "Really hope you can hear me and I do not expect an answer."
  11. "Whoever he is, he knows we're here." Hyperactive began to wrack his brain on this guy. Maybe he had heard something. There was a ton of information and well he knew a lot of people. "Maybe we kinda wave them around outside. I'd like him to come meet us outside." Hyperactive looked out over the town. Mind control? No he didn't have any way around it. It gave him the heebie jeebies. He didn't even want to think about it. "No if it's mind control, resist? And kick the controller in the face."
  12. Ok can we do a scene switch if everyone is cool with that?
  13. In an effort to create a team of super heroes for the defense of the United States, President J.T. Cahill has signed a bill to fund a team of heroes. The Dream Team. I'm trying to find other heroes willing to join up! The Team is mainly to take on super crime and preventing and mitigating natural disasters. So yeah I want to get a few threads up and running as kind of putting the team together! Anyone have any PC's and/or thread ideas this is a good place to put it. Disclaimer: Depending on how many people want to be a part of this, the team may or may not be able to have everyone on it.
  14. Corgi commander Dr. Wesley Harrison, PHD. Dr. Wesley Harrison was a physicist and psychologist working in Bermuda. He was experimenting with mind transfers and potential immortality. He was doing well until his dog walked into the other end. He wound up transferring himself into the dog and disintegrated his old body. Unable to return he decided to continue his work. Dr. Wesley was selected by J.T. Cahill to run command for the new US Dream Team. He uses Doghouse as his call sign, but I highly doubt anyone wants to call him that.
  15. I do like that idea! Corgi command... will run with this idea!
  16. Ooc for this: http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/topic/9839-back-and-deader-than-ever/?do=getNewComment science? Magic? Well lets find out! Quick response to that text so we can get everyone in GA, and get this started. @Avenger Assembled @Twisted Mortal
  17. GM 10:27 PM, July 12th, 2017 Center For Disease Control and Development: Atlanta, Georgia Most of the time, epidemiology needed to be public in order to work properly. People needed to be made aware of the disease. They needed to be educated on what they could do to prevent it. Public awareness was one of the greatest tools in the arsenal of epidemiology. This was not one of those times. "We don't know what's causing this?" Hyperactive looked at the "vector" as it banged against the glass. He was working on his second two liter bottle of Dr. Pepper. This was gonna be a long night. "No and we felt that it was better to get some support before heading out into the field." Replied Dr. Yang, the epidemiologist in charge of the crisis. "President Cahill has you on his list of heroes to call when we find ourselves up a creek without a paddle." "Sure, this is exactly what I signed on for. I'm gonna call in a little help, I promise they'll be discreet." Hyperactive was already feeling well out of his depth here. He grabbed his phone and hammered out two quick messages. "Woodsman, have a situation that may require some stealth and discretion. I think you may be able to help here. I have a situation in Georgia. I can pick you up." The scatterbrained Speedster sent. "Mr. Daggers. Names Hyperactive. Druid gave me your number. Got a situation in Georgia, could use some help. Drop your location, I can be there, fast." "Give me a few moments to retrieve some friends Doctor." Hyperactive said as he waited for a reply.
  18. GM The officer stepped up and took Lurlene quite literally off Stalwart's hands. "Well if we're confident that Hephaestus is going to find us, we should put Nitrous down." Hyperactive said. "I don't care who takes her down. She's a speedster's nightmare, and I want to see her flat on her back." He paused. "Not like that, let's go stop her before she kills way more people. Cause she will."
  19. So maybe what would be best is to keep say the location (oil rig in the Gulf), their general responsibilities (stopping natural disasters and stopping super crime.), and maybe make some NPC's for support? Then make a post in the more general campaign discussion and start to piece together a team? probably would want to do that over a series of threads right?
  20. Hyperactive Empire of emerald and jade Dueling Storms All My Exes live in texas Media Frenzy MY Dearest Angelica GM All My exes live in texas Guidebook Shadow Zone and Attometer Vignette Vignette: Like my Father but Bolder
  21. Well I for one would absolutely be happy having Hyperactive in a government super team. If that would be the better option, then maybe it would be best to cut the NPC's down to support for the PC's. I'd be more than happy to GM threads and oversee the Dream Team (I like the name, and even if all the NPC's get moved to the side I do think that name should be the name. Open to cooler suggestions though.)
  22. Ok so I'm gonna take 20 on disable devices with my array as my quickness 17, aka the stupid fast speed and just get some cameras. Like six or so.
  23. Hyperactive was gone for a moment. When he had reappeared he had a half a dozen cameras in hand. He handed them off to the Weekend man before sitting and watching the display. "Nope." He declared. "This is weird. Like come on, there aren't this many actors in Texas. Come on. This is mind control and I officially do not like it. I don't like it. Psychics are the one kind of super power that gives me the heebie jeebies. Like come on, not even guys who can pull their own head off are this weird." He shuddered. The thought of someone getting in his head made Hyperactive want to get some tinfoil. "Anyways. Cameras, I assume I did nothing but made the director mad, but what can you do?"
  24. GM "I dunno. Met him in West. Gave me the stuff there." She sighed. "Thanks, ya know I'm sorry bout that other time-" she looks over at the cop. "I was right mad then too. But I have no clue if he stayed in West." She managed to bite back the tears. "Honest if he ain't in West I got no clue, but it sounded like he would come try to find all y'all." "Nitrous is..." Hyperactive paused, for a Speedster moment. "Well one of my crazy Ex girlfriends. Luckily the only one with super powers. At least when I dated them. She's a motion controller. Can control the speed of objects around her. She uses it to freeze people or make it seem like she's stopped time. Murdering six people isn't her MO though. I mean don't get me wrong she will kill people, but like that? I haven't seen that before." The Speedster blew a long sigh out of his nose. "Yeah we dated before the warriors, which means that message was for me."
