  1. Naomi adjusted her blazer, pouring her rootbeer she took a sip. "I was flying at about 2700 feet on a routine circulation heading back for the E-W runway for a landing as my engine output dropped by about 45 percent and showed signs of dropping further, so I aborted the flight test before the engine dropped below the output needed to keep me from stalling. Right when I was over the bay north of the airport I had a engine fire report. As I went to activate the fire suppression system things got bright behind me. I didn't really have time to think as my dashboard went red and my nose went sharply downward. That's when everything connected in my head instinctively and I ejected. I didn't see much at that point as I closed my eyes from the force of the ejection. What was up... err unusual..." She tripped over her words for a moment, as she took another sip. "I think I finally opened my eyes at 1000 feet or less when I noticed I still felt the ejection seat still behind me. Thankfully the radio was offline for some reason as there was screaming. It... wasn't my bravest of moments." She looked down at the floor. "I hit the water and it all went black. That's where the missing time is. I wager when your brain's turned off you don't remember the details of croaking off." She looked back up. "Then I woke up and there was... pain. Pain and anguish. Not from my legs and my left arm being broke and at least a ungodly amount of ribs puncturing my lungs, but everything correcting itself. Swallowed a lot of water before I exhaled it all at once in a blood saturated cloud. I instinctively pulled out the flight mask off of my helmet and stuck the pony bottle into my mouth. Biting down on it's regulator helped with the pain of exhaling the last bit of water and blood in my lungs out of my nose as my lungs re-inflated." "I think for about 5 minutes I was pretty bewildered and shocked at my situation as I remembered I was under about 75 feet of water and I wasn't heading back to the surface unless I got out of my restraints. Took about a minute's time with my survival knife before I was shooting up to the surface. I think I had just about a minute left on the air tank when I spat it out. I waved to some passing motorboaters as I managed to get back to the airport, people looking at me strange all the way. I don't blame 'em." "I mean when you fish out someone from the drink that looks like a half-drowned Lord of the Rings cosplayer well..." She scratched her head. "Once I got back, I heard all about the ruckus at the hangar and the SHADOW agents we managed to flush out. All I could do was sit on the tarmac wondering just what the heck happened... to me, to my plane..." "To be honest I'm surprised I'm wondering about that. Found out later everything that happened to me was sabotage. I... am takin' that personal." She said with a smirk.
  2. Naomi adjusted the red necktie on her white blouse... she had a fondness for the color combination Miss A sported herself, but liked blue more than anything. "To be honest Caffeine has no effect on me anymore. I'll stick to Root Beer if you have it. I... never quite liked Coffee." She said. Miss A completely disarmed her defenses. "I'm suprised nothing effects me anymore. I've been sneezed on and so far... not even a lick of the flu either." She looked at the Lab Coat. "I'm not surprised you saddled up with this company, Ma'am. Suits you. Sucks I've only been a test pilot for around a year when that unpleasantness occurred." She said, remembering her first moments as someone different being stuck in her Ejection seat under about 75 feet or so of water north of Trainor Airport. "I... have to thank those that engineered our flight suits to have that secondary air-tank, otherwise I might have "rebooted" a few times trying to get out of that ejection seat." She said, laughing. "That life preserver felt like it was trying to pull my darned head off while I tried cutting free of the restraints. Of course that was after I could move my arms and legs." She massaged her left arm, one of the two limbs that she knew broke from the incident. "Of course I'll save you the details of the bad that came before then... when I woke up. They're a bit..." she paused. "...morbid." She cleared her throat. "Anyways... Root Beer, if you got it." She said with a smile.
  3. Naomi brushed off the navy blue business ensemble a bit nervously. There's been many changes in her life, and rather brutally... And it's only been a week. To lose her Job would be the meanest twist of fate. Then again having a seemingly immortal Test Pilot Naomi hoped would be a good thing. She gulped as she followed the lines as she went to the Elevator and started the process of heading up. Waiting in the elevator as it went up and passed through security scans as she neared the top floor was nerve wracking. Didn't help that Miss A didn't spring for a better Muzak service as she reached the last stop. "Please proceed to the double doors, Miss Baines." The elevator stated as the green arrows led to a pair of sliding doors. As she proceeded the elevator doors behind her closed, quickly, and the other office doors opened with a familiar Star Trek like swoosh. She saw Miss A sitting at her desk, the light of the day shining through her window as she was turned, looking out on the city. "Ma'am? Naomi Baines. Chief Test Pilot, Aeronautics Division. Reporting as requested." She said in her americanized slight Welsh accent, with some reports she was told to bring along under an arm. She clutched them like a life preserver at this point, as they were her sealed medical report... every doctor she went through said she had a clean bill of health, but she still couldn't believe it... she was dead... yet now here she was, Blonde Haired, green eyed, and sporting new elf-like ears... But to have her medical report sealed... "I brought the medical report as requested." She sat the report on the desk. She saw the office was well lit, kept rather organized, in fact while she should feel calm she always had that "Principal's Office" nervousness... and that medical report has her brain turning in it's skull.
  4. I just made a notice check for Sakurako... Sakurako's Notice...: 1d20+10 30 We're good. If anyone wishes, they can add +2 to their notice checks, and Sakurako probably sees something more... Everyone might use Sakurako looking in a certain direction if they make any of their checks (by more than DC20). She'll spit it out once I post.... but I'll let the others post first. If everyone else gets better than a 20, She'll add to what they saw. If someone beats 30, I will PM you the details...
  5. I got some post editing to do. From Cerys' postings it seemed she flew. It seems that wasn't the case. Either that or I didnt' catch on. In either case there has been a >MAJOR change in the formation and postings... please take note. Addendum: It seems Samaritan doesn't fly either... Starting to get highly annoyed. Addendum 2: Okay changes have been made. On the Boat: Cerys, Rampart, and Samaritan. In the air: Sakurako and Casey.
  6. GM The group embarks out. It seemed unusual to use nothing more than a RHIB to head out into the deeper portion of the Atlantic, but the boat Rampart, Cerys, and Samaritan were using seemed to be designed with more than off-the-shelf parts, even if it was a military surplus boat. It seems the academy made many upgrades, that even Sakurako didn't notice completely, or that anyone were aware. It handled fine, better than expected The 3 hour trip was long, but the radios the group had kept everyone company as the hours into the dead of night progressed. It was a Waxing crescent moon, near full, in fact, so there was some light to work with. The group approached near where the mark on the map Sakurako showed everyone was situated. Although the fog rolling in was starting to be an issue...
  7. Okay guys! I'm going to ask for rolls while I work on the GM post... once I make the GM post you can post your result of your check in your IC post... DC 15 Notice DC 20 Notice DC 25+ If you roll a higher DC for your notice, the lower DC facts of the scene become apparent. (and no peeking, please ) Oh if you have any pertinent skills to the ocean in terms of seamanship, feel free to make a roll, depending on how good a roll I might reveal extra tidbits. I won't penalize for visual range on this, as these difficulties are more for the changing conditions than anything. No matter what anyone gets, the fog is building.
  8. ENDEAVOR Sakurako had a moment to think. "I'm not... that best in command. Cerys, if I remember correct you're a senior, I think I will defer to your judgement in a crisis. I'll stick to the technical aspects of this investigation. Casey... perhaps you can keep an eye out for us. Your scout experience might not be well suited to the environment we're heading into, and we can use a flying scout in front." She pulled out small radios for everyone. "Not really tactical or fancy... I don't recommend using these during a fight, but you can call down here from your height without shouting at least. before we approach anything suspicious." Smiling she invites Rampart, Blodeuwydd, and Samaritan aboard. "Okay, this should be a fairly easy boat to control, it uses a steering wheel and your throttle is the stick on the right." "I and Miracle Girl will fly out at an altitude of 500 feet while being 500 feet from the boat. Casey can lead the triangle formation in the Forward arc, I will take the Aft, 100 feet lower so I can respond faster to anything happening on the boat."
  9. Okay feel free to post in the IC for a little bit. I thought I'd play out how Sakurako wouldn't expect everyone to come along on this, I will advance to the next scene in a GM post tomorrow, or if there is enough IC posts before then.
  10. ENDEAVOR Sakurako smiled, acknowledging Samaritan and Rampart. "Thanks for showing up. To be honest I didn't want to investigate this without a full team with me. After my last encounter with a homicidal robot crab one on one I've been... a bit leery in regards to heading out on the ocean without backup." She said taking a couple bags with her into the large motorboat. Sakurako liked the fact it was a surplus thing with very high-tech battery-powered engines, but she wasn't a fan of taking a boat like this as far as they were. "Okay, take what you think you need, and we'll be underway. If you fly, might be nice to have a flying escort. I know Samaritan isn't a flier, so I think he'll keep me company. Try to stay with the boat as we head off... this will be a bit of a trip. 3 hour tour in fact, over and back. Hopefully we'll be back by sunrise, and Luckily it's a Saturday night, so there isn't any classes tomorrow. I've already logged my intended rout with the school, and if anything does happen, I wager the Coast Guard will be on the scene in no time." She started some final examination of the engines, letting everyone get on board. "Of course at this point, knowing the fact this might be a heck of a lot of nothing, and the fact the waters out there aren't exactly summery, I think it's a fair thing to let people who aren't interested in what's out there to stay behind. In one way I don't know what's out there, but I'm not going to risk anyone for a wild goose chase." She looked at everyone. "If you refuse, I apologize for wasting your time, I made my picks based on the risk to who I ask escort me, and I didn't expect everyone to answer my text. Accepted or not, thank you." She said, resisting a bow... her habits from Japan were slow to fade. Instead she smiled. "Besides, worse comes to worse the location is at the edge of the continental shelf, there might be some decent fishing... maybe..." She said, pointing to a couple fishing rods... "If I got fooled at least this won't be a waste of time."
  11. I'll be knocking out a Endeavor and GM post in a hour or so. Thanks, everyone for being prompt.
  12. Yeah, I forgot the signature bit. Also you should see Endeavor's music player, it's pretty diverse.
  13. ENDEAVOR Sakurako quirked an eyebrow to Cerys. "Simple..." She held up her smart phone with a map on it to the two girls, of course they would have to come in close for a full measure of the map she had pulled up. "Every person I have taken this to has stated that this location is a red herring. I assume you two girls are aware of the accusations that were leveled on us for a time that we were running a sort of cyber-piracy network, correct? Even though the FBI was satiated with the fact we were clean, I have still been picking up someone leeching off of our networks." Sakurako looked over Casey's suit, and changes the colors of her suit and vest to the Claremont standard. "At this point with the consistant GPS register of something out at 100 miles from this spot somewhere in the Atlantic, out past the continental shelf. I just can't let this go unchecked." "I suspect it's a bouy but..." She adjusted her suit as she sat on a table, a couple yellow yachting drysuits and some life preservers were on the table next to her. Her phone shook from a inbound text message. "Ah... we can use everything at our disposal here in the boathouse." She said, noticing the small RHIB-like boat. She started messing with the engine and the battery. "Electric powered but this battery... ugh, looks like we won't have the range unless someone doesn't mind towing while flying. We can get out there, but not back. We'd be past bingo battery." Then she spots a spare battery under the table she had sat on. "Nevermind... although it'll be cutting it close..." Closing things up, she knew what Casey could handle, although Cerys was a bit of a blank. "It should be advised the water temperatures are a brisk 40 degrees, and I'm not sure what, if anything is out there. Might be a good idea to wear something warm." "I'm going to wait for Rampart and Samaritan to show, before we push off."
  14. Civilian Name, Heroic Name, and Character Sheet, please. I need these for quick reference.
  15. I'll wait to make postings once everyone is in place.
  16. Okay you land lubbers! Time to deal with the Cyberpirates of the Atlantic Basin! >OOC | >IC
  17. Endeavor Sakurako was a bit curious as to what could be using the school's bandwidth... with Headmaster Summers' prompting she looked into things. What she discovered would be troublesome indeed. Someone had managed to get in through a security flaw in the firewall of the school. Of course Sakurako took the opportunity to see where the bandwidth was being sucked from, and with cross-referencing the sattelites, the trail ended with what at first seemed like a dead-end, but... Sakurako looked up what students were availiable or on campus... Sakurako looked over the list... "Okay, these guys should be just the right set up for this." She said, checking the weather in the spot on the Atlantic where the trail went cold. "Hmm, the water's sorta brisk, I better get permission to requisition any safety equipment the team might need from the sailing club." She said, opening up the steel case where she kept her suit to check her gear. "Didn't think I'd be going back out there so soon. Looks like a superheroine's job is never done." She sighed. "Momma said there'd be days like this." She closed her case and stepped out while formulating a text message with her smart phone. To: Casey, Bloduwedd, Rampart, Samaritain From: Endeavor I'm going to require your assistance. Meet at these coordnates in 10 minutes. She sends coordinates to a small wooden dock that at one time was used by the school for it's sailing club. Sakurako had been wanting to revive it, if she could only get some interested students to join her. But no matter, it was a dream for another time. Something needed sorting out, and she was gonna sort it! She takes off her usual, and starts putting on her suit over a skin-tight blue garment that looked one part swimsuit, one part wicking to draw away sweat as her authorization to get whatever kit she needed from the boathouse came down. She waited in there for the rest of her team.
  18. GM February 28, 2015, 10pm Eastern Time It was quiet at Claremont Academy. The students were either a quiet Saturday night in Freedom City or resting snugly in their dormitories. Some were preparing for their routine "patrols" and others were working out in the simulator room. Headmaster Summers had discovered a strange uptick in bandwidth usage reported from his IT support at the school, and it was beginning to become worrisome. Worrisome as the FBI had sent an agent to investigate a large uptick in illegal downloading and uploading centered on the school. After a thorough investigation of the student activity over the network discovered nothing, not even a scrap of what was reported in the FBI investigation. This was going to not be a easy solution, but the Headmaster had an idea of how to start...
  19. This is the OOC for the nautical hijinks of Cyberpirates of the Atlantic Basin! Please tag to let me know you're ready. With your character's Civilian Name, Heroic Name, and a link to your character sheet, please.
  20. I'll be bringing Sakurako along for the ride after all for this, won't change the adventure much. I'm closing the slots now. We will start tomorrow!
  21. Can I get someone to delete this, Aborting this. Seems some wires were crossed.
  22. It seems Archetech will suddenly get a lot of attention, at least momentarily as the Incursion has happened. Here is a proposal for ALL heroes! A group of SHADOW agents have managed to worm their way into Archetech's lower eschelons, to attempt to steal military secrets from their Aviation Division. One of the employees, a Naomi Baines, is thought to have seen more than she should, and one of the Archetech maintenance workers are forced under duress to sabotage her aircraft. This sets into motion a chain of events leading to the birth of Freedom City's newest superheroine! The Immortal Seahawk! Looking for up to 5 players for this adventure, and Electra's Miss America will be #6. The Full Grown Heroes The non-claremont characters in this may have been called up by Miss A maybe to form a group, maybe to set up some contact info between each other for mutual assistance, I'll leave that up to Electra to set up with other players. They will be front and center though when SHADOW makes it's move. I heard some might be wanting to form a new superteam, this may be the opportunity! Claremonters If there are any Claremont characters here, they are probably at Trainor Airfield on a vocational field trip. They may be on a tour when adventure finds them!
  23. ooh, I'll keep this open for one more... Start date might be this weekend, Gygax willing.
  24. Okay, any more folk interested? I plan on starting this soon. By the 15th at the latest.
