  1. Dragonid flipped through he records with concern. He had accepted Kharag as his brother, as he had the other Praetorians. He had thought he knew him, at least in part. He knew Kharag bristled at surrendering power under the alliance, but this plot was as likely to oust him as King as kill the peace with the Delaztri. The other faces, he knew nothing of. He would need to ask about them to determine who might have ambitions to rival Kharag. The other Za'aki did not trust Dragonid enough for them to ever give him straight answers. For now he put the suspicion of Kharag aside, and went looking for the King.
  2. After the ship touched down, Dragonid stood up and fitted his winged jetpack to his back, he hoped it would not be too bulky for moving through close quarters. There might not be much need to fly if things went as planned, but best to keep options open for the rapid escape. "Just try not to look too much like the communion when the fighting starts. You probably do not burn, but I do not want to flameyou anyway." Dragonid said to Wraith, as he looked his companions over again. "I am Dragonid of the Praetorians," he introduced himself, somewhat belatedly. "Watch my back, and I will protect yours."
  3. Toughness Check: 1d20+7 10 I'm going to need to hero point a reroll in order to avoid being staggered this early in the fight. Toughness Check - HP Reroll: 1d20+7 16, a 26 with because of the HP, is enough.
  4. "What do we see of Communion activity in the area?" asked Dragonid, "Good that we are not seen yet, but once we leave the ship and approach the network that may change. I would like to know what to expect and how quickly." He approached for a closer look at the viewscreen, as the metallic creature dripped down from the ceilling. "If it is already transformed here, there may be little reason for the Communion to pay much attention. Their work is destroying the landscape elsewhere."
  5. Notice it is Notice Check: 1d20+9 11 That was pathetic.
  6. Dragonid stared grimly at the approaching planet. They say it had once been a thriving center of civilization. A civilization now dead, its remains being swept under a metallic wasteland. A worse fate than the communion's planetkiller, perhaps. The six-foot dragonman stretched his arms toward the ceiling. The muscles under his red scaled skin were tense and knotted. He had spent most of the trip lodged uncomfortably in one of the stealth-ship's seats. Maybe the creature clinging to the ceiling had the right idea and he should have refused the chair. Dragonid still didn't know what to make of the Coalition the Praetorians had joined. He didn't know if this mission would really show them the way to the Communion's head so they could chop it off. He didn't know what to make of the strange allies he'd been stuck with on this ship. But at least Kharag was here. He could at least trust his fellow Praetorian to stand with him for a good fight. "Can this thing stay hidden all the way to the ground?" he asked the pilot.
  7. "Try to keep up." Coiled Lightning replied to Foreshadow. As he sprinted toward a fighter, he activated his whip. A long cord of blue electrical energy extended behind him. Four figures disembarked in front of him. Four agaisnt one. This is either mildly reckless or profoundly foolish, he'd find out in a few moments. The whip crackled around, snapping once twice three times. Two silver-clad humanoid figures spasmed violently on contact with the whip, but the third shrugged the whip off. "Don't face off against the Lightning if you're going to wear all that metal!" he smirked. His enthusiasm slipped away as he realized two of the enemy still stood around him.
  8. Coiled Lightning will charge a quartet of humanoids, hoping a 20 (with charge) will be enough to hit. DC 21 whippy damage, with takedowns if possible.
  9. Dragonid took the device, "This will be very helpful, thank you." he walked out of the datacenter. He sought out a private place to look over the files. He scanned through the pictures, trying to put a name to the face in those visions. The Za'aki who had hired the assassins. There was obvious discontent among the Za'akis. It was going to be difficult to accuse one of them of attempted regicide without cause further problems, which would only disrupt the alliance plans more. The Delaztri traitor, this Za'aki was working with knew this, no doubt. Dragonid growled quietly. He was a warrior, not a diplomat.
  10. "The Za'aki, yes." Dragonid said, somewhat annoyed by the slow progress (completely unaware of how slow getting access to records could have been if not for his status as Praetorian), and bristled at the word 'savages'. No doubt he and his own people word also earn the description from this clerk. Probably rightly for his people, but it still hurt somewhat. "I need lists of the Za'akis who were transferred to this planet. I am trying to identify possible witnesses in an investigation and must not be delayed here long"
  11. "Careful," Coiled Lightning warned as he stumbled back from the wax figure. Nothing broken, he thought, that's good. "These statues took a lot of work to put together and are pretty fragile. Don't want to add vandalism to your murder charges." In the light his whip was throwing out, it wasn't hard to pick out the cloaked figure hiding in what used to be shadows. Charlie wasn't sure, but he thought he just saw him throw the statue with just his mind. That would make restraining him harder. Just have to do it the hard way. Still throwing sparks, Coiled Lightning's whip sprang to action lashing out at the Garrote as Charlie stepped toward him. The energy band slashed across the villain's chest and face painfully
  12. Whip attack: 1d20+8 28 DC 21 damage
  13. Charlie chuckled, "Well, I guess they say any landing you can walk away from is a good one, but I think I'll stay on the ground." He looked up at the Headquarters building. "Don't have many buildings to work with for my usual aerial maneuvers." He went back to listening to the mental chatter of the airborne heros, wincing as he heard Young Britannia take a hit. "People up there getting hurt, and there's nothing we can do about it" he shook his head in frustration.
  14. Toughness: 1d20+7 18 I'll take the bruise
  15. Dragonid nodded, "Yes, thank you for your assistance. I did not realize how hard this would be, for either of us, but you have done a great service for the empire. Keep this quiet until we have the situation under control. Then I will apply for a commendation for you. After I am sure it is safe, of course. What is your name?" After dismissing the specialist, Dragonid went looking for the records office, somewhere he could find pictures to put a name to that face.
  16. "We have the name Technoassassin League, at least." Dragonid said, disappointed that none of what he saw could be preserved for replay. The Za'akis were already distrustful of him and the Delzatri, they would not take his word for it if he explained what he saw. He would need to track down this traitor and get a confession. "There must be records of the Za'akis who have been moved here. While my memory is fresh I want to look over those records, to see if I can recognize the traitor from those visions."
  17. Dragonid unhooked himself and reeled for a minute from the whirl of sensations and noise. And the revelations found within them. He needed to remember that face. Had he seen it in the mess hall? No, it had been too dark, if he was there Dragonid had not seen him clearly. One sentence lingered in his mind the longest. They would convert his people to these... things? He had thought his race left behind him, but he could not dismiss the fear of seeing one of them enhanced with such radical technology. Or did he feel anger that his people would be treated that way? He was not sure. "Your warning." he was finally able to say, "I should have heeded it." It took him a few more moments to collect his thoughts, "But, no. Those visions were vital. I needed to see them. Kharag needs to see them. Can they be recorded? The faces and words pulled out? I need to find out who that Za'aki was who hired these Technoassassins."
  18. HOT SHOTS PART TROIS'D BY HGM  I want to expand Dragonid's Pyrokinesis array a bit, bumping the base power up to 7, and adding a new alternate. Updated the "Flame Objects" power as per discussion with HG. Also kicking his fort and reflex saves up by one each, should use up the rest of my available points. Pyrokinesis ( 26pp Array Feats Alternate Power 2 ) [25pp] Base Power Create Object 7 (Hard Fire; Extras: Moveable, Feats: Selective, Tether) {23/23} Alternate Power Damage 5 (Flame Objects; Extras: Area(General, Shapable), Duration (Sustained +2), Feats: Progressive 2 (Increase to 25 5' cubes) {22/23} Alternate Power Nullify 10 ( Extinguish, Any power of type Fire Extras: Duration(Concentration)) {20/23}
  19. "Duty unto death." Dragonid repeated quizzically, then shrugged and extended the wings on his jetpack. "I do not intend to die today." The dragon man moved to pick up Kharag. "As they say among my people, 'May the Fires of the Fathers protect us and consume any who stand in our way'. I will get you to the ground as quickly and safely as I can." The leap from the back of the Aquilla was exhilarating, surely the best way to take flight. But this was no joy ride, the enemy knew they were hear, it would be a matter of moments before the planetbound defenders responded to their approach.
  20. Dragonid shook his head, he could feel nothing but contempt for this murderous cyborg. "Whatever it was before, it seemed intent on nothing but killing now. Only the assassin remained." He took the mask and looked it over curiously. He stretched it over his head the best he could, pushing the lense over his brow so he could see as he restrained the body. He grunted as he shifted the cyborg to an easier position to hold, then waited for the specialist to do his job. "How much of its mind will we be able to see? All its memories? Or just since the implants were installed."
